Fibre? I'd have been better off sticking with ADSL!

Got Fibre through Sky a few months ago. In short, it hasn't been worth it. The download speed is occassionally very good (>20mbps) but is usually average (~10mbps), and more often than I like it is awful (has been <1mpbs on many occassions, and is in the 1mpbs to 5mbps often). The support is non-existent, there is never an online (live chat?) resource available. I can't send an email any more - used to be able to do that. I refuse to call a telephone number - why inconvenience myself for hours on end, and pay for the privilege. When I check the status page at sky it always say it's healthy - which is infuriating as you watch the page load pixel-by-pixel!!!!! I heard that Virgin Fibre is throttled at times, which is why I went with Sky. This is my last Sky contract ever, the price keeps increasing and the product and service delivered keeps decreasing in quality.

That makes sense to me, your inputs are now adding very little to the discussion.
To clarify, should anyone ever see this post and use it in some small way when weighing up whether to use Sky Fibre,
1. I am not airing frustrations. I am openly stating that what Sky claimed to be able to deliver is not what I receive, by a long margin. I do not expect a faultless service, but nor do I expect performance issues on an almost daily basis.
2. The methods to engage supprt, report issues or complain has become more limited  (withdrawal of email option). The remaining methods are time-consuming and frustratingly sporadic (08* phone call or live chat). The smartphone app (which offers a callback function) is not mentioned on any of the pages I viewed at sky.com. I will try this option and hope it brings me a better experience than I've had recently.
3. I have reported the same performance issues on numerous occasions, both as an ADSL and Fibre customer, using the withdrawn email option, live chat and the 08* telephone number. The performance issues often clear after several hours, whether I report the issue or not - so the value in contacting Sky is very little if it's going to take me hours to do so, and does not improve or even influence the recovery of my service.
4. Email is ubiquitous and asynchronous, as a sender I do not need to rely on the receiver being available when I send my message. Having only live chat and telephone contact methods means Sky can throttle or control, to some extent, the volume of customers able to contact them at any one time.
5. I have a general distrust of speed checking site results. As user daveNOS states, the figures are not always reliable. I have used many others besides speedofme and usually find the majority to be, by and large, fairly close in their results.
6. When my service was so slow as to be unusable and I could report it via emall, I was able to use the emails as justification for the poor quality of service I was receiving. When this happened frequently over an extended perood I  was able to get financial recompense in the form of a billing reduction. This will be more difficult to achieve whrn I am only able to report via live chat ot 08* telephone call.
I don't believe any of above statements give a false impression of my experience with Sky and its Fibre offering. I fully expect there are people who have not had 1% of the problems I have experienced, and they will no doubt leave positive feedback.

    Basically should I keep the Classic or return it and pay the extra for a Touch?

    I'm still in 2 minds about returning the Ipod. Having just discovered that the Touch does not work as a portable hard drive I'm less inclined to go for it. I do also agree that it's overpriced. I like the Classic, but I'm very frustrated that each update seems to create significant faults - is this normal for Ipods? My 3rd gen never seemed to suffer such problems with updates but maybe it did and I was just unaware.
    Having had bad experiences with Apple's quality control on my current Powerbook, these problems with the Classic are really souring my opinion of Apple. I'm weighing up buying a new Imac for my work, but with all the problems my Apple products have had of late, I wonder if buying another Mac is a foolish thing to do!

    2). everything is still shown on my macbook pro.... but when i tired to go and sync it..... nothing is transfering to my phone........

    im not sure what you mean by you second statement. when i open those application on my macbook its on my macbook but when i sign into icloud. i have those option selected.
    maybe my problem is im using the wrong ID...... lol.

    ok, I did, and it said again congrats your iPhone is unlocked, but, when it said there was a new carrier update, I cancelled it, but, it asked me again, I cancelled again, I guess I'm scared it will lock it again if I allow the carrier update.
    Oh, there it goes again, this time on the phone, arg. I hit update, I hope it doesn't freak out.
    I'm glad I didn't destroy the SIM like I almost did. But, it will come out again, longer battery life with the cell portion turned off.

When I turned on Bridge through CS4, My thumb nail images disappeared and a thumb nail icon with CR2 appeared. Now some of my images have disappeared from Light room 4.4, but I can find them in CS4 and Bridge now shows some thumb nails as images and some as an icon with CR2.     I don't use LR and rarely use the bridge so I can not answers about thumbnails in them,  However thumbnails in windows file explorer and windows dialog for CS2 files will only show if you have installed codec into windows that will produce them. Windows does not do CR2 thumbnails on its own. I use FastPictureViewer Codec package for RAW File and PSD files thunbmail support.

    It sounds like you may have multiple problems, but none of them are likely to be caused by malware.
    First, the internet-related issues may be related to adware or a network compromise. I tend to lean more towards the latter, based on your description of the problem. See:

    If investigation shows that this is not a network-specific issue, then it's probably adware. See my Adware Removal Guide for help finding and removing it. Note that you mention AdBlock as if it should have prevented this, but it's important to understand that ad blockers do not protect you against adware in any way. Neither would any kind of anti-virus software, which often doesn't detect adware.
    As for the other issues, it sounds like you've got some serious corruption. I would be inclined to say it sounds like a failing drive, except it sounds like you just got it replaced. How did you get all your files back after the new drive was installed?

    I wouldn't say pixelated; more like blurry.
    Like ConnectedCreative said, what steps are you using? Are you using "bicubic sharper" when resizing down?

    For anyone that comes across this. I managed to fix the problem. It had something to do with the date on my computer. Mavericks installer apparently does a date check of some sort and that is where the error is coming from. Open terminal and check the system date. It may be wrong. Another poster in the forums told me how to to check the date and change it. Click here for the link to the explanation. Be careful because the date is in a weird format.

    If I have lost my music collection I will be switching platforms ASAP. It is insane that Apple has updates seemingly every day for their products.

    I was in your same situation with 14 downloads and 14 attempts. 
    You have to make sure that your Mac is booting into 64 bit mode.  You can make sure of this by going into System Preferences and scrolling down to 'Software' and making sure that you are booding with 64 bit Kexts. 
    If not, restart while holding the 6 and 4 keys down until you see the spinning gear wheel and try installng again. 
    BUT, what I also did was to go into Applications, click on the Lion installer, Get Info, and give yourself custom priviliges to Read And Write. 
    I did this simultaneously, and I don't know what function did it, but it worked for me, with no further downloads of the installer.

    It says ;

    Then there are 2 more which I think are related ;
    Com.apple.securityd 29 PID job has I overstayed its welcome , forcing removal.
    Then the same with fseventd 48 and diskarbitrationd 13
    Oh and on Launchd1 : System : stray anonymous job at shut down : PID 301 PPID13 PGID 13 unmount...
    Then the last process says "about to call: reboot (RB_AUTOBOOT).
    Continuing...
    And stops ...
