  • Bare minimum configuration for warehouse management

    Hello,
    For one of our Projects, there is a requirement of Warehouse Management merely just to enable the tracking of Material received to the Storage Bin level, as they manage the Inventory in Storage Bins in the existing Warehouses.
    Other no major requirement is expected from WM like, automation of Putaway, etc.
    Few of the Inventory scenarios are like Goods receipt, Goods Issue, Warehouse to Warehouse transfer, Bin to Bin transfer, Physical Inventory,  Subcontracting for repairs, Vendor Consignment, also they will handle Project Special stock.
    Now the configurations for Inventory Management are enabled for all the above processes. I now need to know, what are the bare mimimum configurations required so as to enable the WM related process, following each of the IM processes, like Putaway after Goods Receipt, Stock removal before Goods Issue, etc.
    The Configuration for the Enterprise Structure to support Warehouse Management have been completed by creating the Warehouses & assigning the Storage locations to these Warehouses.
    A detailed step by step process would be very helpful for me at this stage.
    And i surely will assign points for all the useful answers.
    Regards,
    Zafar.

    Hi,
    If you want to define new storage types other than the standard ones, please define them. Otherwise, you can assign
    the existing storage types to the newly defined warehouse.
    Also you have to define storage bin types and storage bin structures.
    All this you can find under the IMG path:
    SPRO->Logistics Execution->Warehouse Management->Master Data.

    Pavani.

  • Configuration for Transaction Management

              Hi,
              I am working with Weblogic Server SP1. I am facing a problem in configuring for
              Transaction Management.
              I have a session EJB say SEJB and two entity EJB say EEJB1 and EEJB2. EEJB1 is
              for the parent table
              and EEJB2 is for the child table.
              I have two records in the database REC1 and REC2.
              REC2 has dependencies and cannot be deleted, while REC1 can be deleted.
              In weblogic-ejb-jar.xml I have configured as follows:
              <weblogic-enterprise-bean>
              <ejb-name>SEJB</ejb-name>
              <stateless-session-descriptor>
              <pool>
              <max-beans-in-free-pool>300</max-beans-in-free-pool>
              <initial-beans-in-free-pool>150</initial-beans-in-free-pool>
              </pool>
              </stateless-session-descriptor>
              <reference-descriptor>
                   <ejb-reference-description>
                   <ejb-ref-name>EEJB</ejb-ref-name>
                   <jndi-name>EEJBean</jndi-name>
                   </ejb-reference-description>
                   </reference-descriptor>
              <jndi-name>SEJBn</jndi-name>
              </weblogic-enterprise-bean>
              Further, in ejb-jar.xml I have set up the <trans-attribute> as RequiresNew for
              Session Bean while Supports
              for the EEJB. Something like this:...
              <container-transaction>
              <method>
              <ejb-name>SEJB</ejb-name>
              <method-intf>Remote</method-intf>
              <method-name>*</method-name>
              </method>
              <trans-attribute>RequiresNew</trans-attribute>
              </container-transaction>
              In spite of this setting, when, through the client, I am selecting the two records
              REC1 and REC2 at the same
              time and deleting them, REC1 gets deleted while REC2 does not and gives a TransactionRollbackException.
              Ideally, since both are part of a single transaction, both should have been rolled
              back.
              Please suggest if I am missing on some kind of configuration parameter or setting.
              I'll be more than
              happy to provide some more details to get the problem solved.
              I can also be reached at [email protected]
              Thanks in advance,
              Regards,
              Rishi

    if you have open transactions, such as deliveries, then you may not be able to process them further.
    But do you really close all transactions in a test system?
    It will not have any harm to new created documents

  • T-codes for warehouse management

    hi.
    can anybody gives the mostly used t-codes for warehouse management

    SAP WMS - Decentralized Warehouse Management System Integration Setup
    You can operate the SAP Warehouse Management System (WMS) as a stand-alone decentralized system that is independent of a central Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System.
    You make the necessary settings for the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system within the WMS component (Warehouse Management System).
    The steps are set up as a checklist and guide you through the process of configuring the system parameters.
    Checklist (For those with the Table Views used transaction code SM30).
    1. Customizing for "Enterprise Structure"
    - Create storage location in OX09 (if necessary).
    - Define warehouse number in Views V_T3001.
    (you should not copy the warehouse number in the ERP system)
    Activities within a warehouse, like goods movements and physical inventory, are assigned to a specific
    warehouse number.
    The physical warehouse where these activities take place is identified by the warehouse number.
    - Assign plant/storage location to warehouse number in Views V_T320.
    (Valid if the component MM-IM (Inventory Management) is implemented.)
    Fields : Plant + Sloc + WhN
    2. Customizing for "Decentralized WMS integration", section "Central processing" -> Application
    - Activate decentralized WMS in Views V_T340DM.
    - Define interface to Inventory Management in Views :-
    V_156S_WM - Assign WM movement type references to IM movement types
    V_T3211 - Delivery-Relevant Parameters for Reference Movement Type
    V_T340DL - Delivery-Relevant Data for Warehouse Number
    - Exclude stock in decentralized WMS in Views V_T321B
    (if the decentralized WMS is not an SAP R/3 system)
    - Finally do a consistency check for decentralised WMS in transaction OL20.
    3. Customizing for "Application Link Enabling (ALE)", section "Basis Components"
    Maintaining Logical Systems in Views V_TBDLS.
    Assign logical system to client in Views T000.
    4. Make basic settings for RFC in transaction BD97.(if necessary)
    5. Customizing for "Application Link Enabling (ALE)", section "Maintain Distribution Model"
    You can define the Reduce message types and Activate message types in transaction BD53.
    SAP recommends that you use message types :
    "MATMAS" (material master tables) and
    "DEBMAS" (customer master) as a template.
    Be aware that only those fields that are absolutely necessary are transferred from the master data tables in
    the ERP system to the decentralized WMS.
    6. Customizing for "Decentralized WMS integration", section "Central processing" -> Distribution
    Use transaction OL19 to generate distribution model. As far as the application is concerned, when the model
    is generated, application-specific Customizing parameters are modified or set (for example, activate
    decentralized WMS).
    Display or check distribution model
    Generate partner profile in transaction BD82.
    (you can also perform this activity using ALE Customizing)
    Distribute distribution model in transaction BD64 (model view) using menu item "Edit"
    If both the ERP system and the decentralized WMS are SAP R/3 systems, the distribution model should be
    distributed on a central basis only, that is, via the ERP system.
    7. Customizing for "Application Link Enabling (ALE)", section "Maintain Distribution Model" (transaction BD64)
    Activate the change pointers for master data distribution using transactin BD61.
    If necessary, reduce the message types concerned with transaction BD53.
    8. Customizing for
    "Logistics - General" - "Material Master" - "Tools" - "Data Transfer : Material Master" -
    -> "Define required-field check for ALE/Direct Input" (Views V_T130S)
    Define whether an error message should be generated in the receiving system for required fields
    from the material master.
    Reward points if useful.

  • Q&A db for warehouse management and inventory management

    Hello Everybody,
    i read on the help.sap website that standard as well as industry specific versions of Q&A db are available. but the website doesnt say where. i searched a lot but the links dont lead to the actual Q&A db.
    i would like to request you to kindly share the Q&A db for inventory management and warehouse management with me as i need it for preparing the AS IS documentation.(preferably automotive industry but if not then even standard Q&A db is fine).
    thanks a lot.
    sapman.

    Now QADB will not help to map the clinets requirement. Instead of QADB get AS IS information form Coreusers... thats best practice now....

  • Configuration for treasury management

    HI,
    can anybody tell me the configuration steps and relating steps for treasury management.

    Hi Anitha
    Treasury management is a vast field. You need to be very specific to the area
    Treasury Management basically deals with
    Money market Instruments
    Securities
    Hedging
    Derivatives.
    Each of these categories is dealt with in a separate manner. Then we have Analysers. So all these add up to various flavours in Treasury Management.

  • User Exit for warehouse management - transfer order sorting

    Hi,
    I want to sort transfer order of warehouse management by user exit, which user exit I can use?
    Kindly please advise.
    Regards

    Hi,
    I worked on the same object.
    For sorting you have to place a button in the standard transaction,
    I found some screen exits but they are not working.
    Finally I developed the total customized transaction for that standard LM45.
    If you have any doubts let me know.

  • Help..Problem GI for Warehouse Management

    Dear Expert,
    I have a problem for GI process in warehouse management. When  there are stock transfer material sloc non WM to sloc WM , user have to create transfer order and confirm transfer order to place material in storage bin. Otherwise, if user didn't create transfer order, material will stay in Storage Type 998 (AUFNAHME).
    If there are GI process after that, for example GI to cost center, user still can issue material from Sloc even material hasn't placed into storage bin. Then material issued will stay in Storage Type 911 (GI Area for Cost Center).
    Question is...how can i clear Storage Type 911 (GI area for Cost Center) after GI process??Is there any way i can restrict GI process so that user can't issue material which hasn't placed into storage bin (still in AUFNAHME)???
    Help me please...
    Rgds,
    Aleluya.

    First of all:
    It's strange that storage type 998 is used in your system for GR in transfer posting process - it is used for initial stock upload in standard system. Interim storage type 921 is used for SLoc-SLoc transfer posting.
    Is there any way i can restrict GI process so that user can't issue material which hasn't placed into storage bin (still in AUFNAHME)???
    In standard system not. Maybe through development you could do a check whether there're open TR for the material in connection with the interim storage type or you could check the quants for the interimn storage type...
    But I think and strongly recommend you should not do this.
    The process in SAP (process in ERP) and the physical process (moving the goods physically) should go paralelly. So, my opinion is that you should find out why the goods are not placed in storage bin in SAP whilst they are already in the bin physically. Maybe workers need training / workers have to keep to the rules / you have to revise the process/ use RF devices / etc.
    Question is...how can i clear Storage Type 911 (GI area for Cost Center) after GI process
    You can solve it (e.g.):
    1. Manually, in the sort run: you move the suitable quant from the interim storage type used for SLoc-SLoc stock transfer (921) to interim storage type 911 by LT01 / LT10 (because you should have a +quant in 921 and a -quant in 911).
    2. In the long run: e.g. you can set TR creation for your movement type and processing those TRs (from LB10) you will get the TO and realize the goods movement.
    SPRO > LE > WM > Interfaces > IM > Define Movement Types > LE-WM Interface to Inventory Management
    3. Immediate TO creation for these postings. Please sea OSS note 136796 if you are interested in this solution.
