Hi,
Check your window system is running or not. Navigate to system admin>Monitoring>KM>Component monitor>Repository manager-->check ur system is working or not.
also uncheck "Hide in Root Folder" property in ur window system.

  • Create  a file system repository

    Hi all,
when I create a file system repository in the following solution:
    System Administration → System Configuration→Knowledge Management→Content Management→Repository Managers → File System Repository
There I input the name and the URL which is available on the server.
Then I go to Content Administration → KM Content to check the content of the repository I have created , I can find the folder in the first level directory, but why I can't find the text file I create under the second level .
    such as: URL C:/kmtest
            on the server   C:/kmtest/1
                                 C:/kmtest/1/1.text
(I can see the folder 1, but when I click this fodler on  the portal , I can see nothing.)
When I use System Administration → Monitoring → Knowledge
Management → Component Monitor to check the status of the repository , I find it was not in green light .
Then what is the reason ? Thank you if you can help me !

Check permissions of that folder give full permissions.

  • Can DFS integrate as KM File system Repository?

We are implementing DFS (Distributed File System) and want to integrate it as a file system repository in KM content management.  Has anyone done this before?  If so, does anyone have instructions, considerations, recommendations on this matter?

    Hi vicky,
Integrating file system repository is very easy process.
The step by step procedure is described in the help documentation.

  • The form base xlm can't creat in the File System Repository

    Hi all
A document created by  the sap demo news can display in the folder base the cm Repository corrected, but can't in File System Repository.
    What is the reason?
Edited by: joecui on Apr 9, 2010 7:11 AM

    Hi,
You should not use the /etc repository for creating and storing xmlforms or any content!! This repository is used for configuration purposes and should not be visible to end users, otherwise there would be a very strong possibility that your CM config could be modified, deleted etc.
If you want you should create your own FS repository pointing to a separate FS location to which your end users have access.

  • Problems with the File System Repository & User Mapping!

    Hi All
I am having a problem with a file system repository, and setting up user mapping for that repository.
    I have done the following:
    Created a File System Repository
    Created a Network Path
Created a System (Including the alias)
Now when I go into User Administration and select my user the is no user mapped systems to select.
All this system is doing is connecering to a folder on our File System.
Any help would be great as this is really frustrating!
    Thanks
    Phil

I am using EP7 Stack 11 and unfortunately the only options I have are:
    user
    admin

  • Creating File System Repository for a remote system

    Hi Experts,
My requirement is that I need to create a KM repository in EP from where I need to upload documents into the BW system. Is File System Repository the right type of repository which I need to create for this purpose?
If yes, then in what format do I have to specify the value of the Root Directory property of the repository? I have a folder /data/docs created in the BW system within which I want to upload documents using this repository. But since this folder is located on the BW system which is a remote system for EP, I am not sure how I have to enter the path to this folder.
Can anyone give me any hints on this?
    Warm Regards,
    Saurabh

    Hello Saurabh,
I don't think an FS repository is what you are looking for in this scenario, you could instead use a BI Repository Manager, for more information see:

    Hi,
to my knowledege, this combination is not supported. You can integrated Windows-File-Shares in a Unix-Portal: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/ed/b334ea02a2704388d1d2fc3e4298ad/frameset.htm but not the other way round

  • The system cannot find the file specified.Windows sockets error code:2.

    Hi All,
      I am on MDM 5.5 SP6.
I am getting the following error message when trying to logging in to the DM.
The system cannot find the file specified.Windows sockets error code:2.This application will now exit.
    Runtime Error :
    Program C :\Program Files\SAP MDM 5.5\Data Manager\Datamanager.exe
    R6025.
    -Pure virtual function call.
And in console also the MDM server is stopped after getting the above error message.
Can anybody tell me what could be the problem?
    Thanks & Regards
    Sireesha.

    Hi Sireesha,
According to me, there can be 3 problems,
    1. Kindly check whether the MDM server is stopped. If it is, then restart the MDM Server and Load the repository with Update indices.
    2. If this error is coming with every repository, the problem will be either in the Version mismatch of the Server and the GUI's you are using. Kindly ensure that the versions for the MDM server and the MDM Gui's Match.
    3. If only Data manager Client is giving the problem, then you can un-install and install the DM GUI again.
Along with this, please refer to the link below :
[[The system cannot find the file specified.Windows sockets error code:2.;]
    Hope it helps.

  • File System Repository - User Mapping not Working

    Hi,
I tried to integrate a file system into KM. For doing so, I followed the guide located at [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/ed/b334ea02a2704388d1d2fc3e4298ad/frameset.htm|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/ed/b334ea02a2704388d1d2fc3e4298ad/frameset.htm].
The only problem is, tht the user mapping doesn't seem to work...
The portal is running on a UNIX system, whereas the file share to be integrated is running on a Windows 2003 Server.
Here are the single steps that I performed:
    -  Creation of a KM Windows System in the system landscape directory with the ID "MySystem". User Mapping is set to "User,Admin"
    -  Creation of a Windows System in the system landscpe of the KM with the ID "MySystem"
    - Creation of a Network Path in KM with following settings:
jCIFS Protocol is activated; Network Path = "
My Server\My Share"; User = "My Windows Domain\My User" and the according password. The specified user has administration permissions on the server.
    - Creation of a readonly File System Repository Manager with following settings:
    Root-Directory = "
My Server\My Share", SecurityManager = W2kSecurityManager, ACL Manager Cache = ca_rsrc_acl, Windows Landscape System = "MySystem"
    - Configuration of the W2KSecurityManager: I specified the DomainFile-setting as "/etc/companydomaincontrollers.txt"
and placed such a file in the KM with following setting: "My.Server.Domain=According IP Adress"
    - In UME I carried out user mapping for index_service user and placed the above mentioned admin user into the user mapping.
Result: The indexing works fine, all fles are indexed. When I however try to carry out a user mapping for a "normal" portal user in the UME it doesn't work: The portal user has no access to the file system. (I used the same admin user for mapping... so it should work).
    Any help is appreciated...
P.S. With portal super admin users I can however access the fle system repository, even without user mapping. But I think this is ok, because I read in one forum message that admin users have always access in general....

    Hi Frank,
    thanks for your reply.
I have as well definied an Alias Name with exactly the same id. So this gives us following:
System landscape directory: KM Windows System with id="MySystem" and Alias="MySystem"
KM System Landscape: Windows System with id="MySystem"
In the created file system repository manager I also set "MySystem" for the Windows Landscape System parameter.
So I think that this should be correct (I also considered upper- and lowercase letters).
Maybe the probem lies in specifying the domain names? When I applied user mapping I always additionally specified the Windows domain name of the users, which is correct I think.
In the security manager configuration for the domain controllers (-> [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/a9/c54e9e09448d46b73d154e93d5e995/content.htm]) I however mapped the network domain of the file share server to the according IP adress. Maybe this is wrong?

I don't know to which extent this user is important for FS Mount Service. I thought, that for connecting to a remote share, there is only important the user and password set up in Network Path settings in CM.
Changing the user on which is EP running is quite a difficult step due to our security policies and so on. So I would rather not experiment with this until I try all the other possibilities.
Could you, please, give me some advice?

    Hi Jiri,
have you used double forward slashes in your network path? Please try: //10.80.1.55/Test_portal
You can also test from the portal machine that you can mount the drive via command shell:
    "net use t:
    10.80.1.55\Test_portal /user:DOMAIN\USER"
(make sure you specify the user with domain)
    Hope this helps,
    Robert

  • Unable to create File System Repository manager

    Hello,
I would like to create File System Repository manager to this path: I have mapped a certain Network drive "
main-uni-fs1\pictures$" to the Portal Machine and under this machine it appears as drive "N:\", inside it there is a picture folder which I would like to create the mapping to. I tried setting the "Root Directory" value to "N:\" and to "
main-uni-fs1\pictures$" but I keep receiving an error message at the Repository Component Monitor (see below).
    10X,
    Roy

    Hello Roy,
1> Create a new path that points to the pictures directory on the system. Enter the path lik
    mypc.myorg.com\pictures
Under Sys admin -> Sys Config -> KM -> Content MGT -> Global Services -> Network path
Under the user name and password, enter your username and password
username whould be entered like domainname\username
2>Then create a system in for the mypc.myorg.com server under
Sys admin -> Sys Config -> KM -> Content MGT -> Global Services -> System landscape definitions -> System -> Windows Sytem.
(Assuming u are acessing a windows sytem from a portal running on windows platform).
You need to enter system id and description . Kindly remember the system id, since it would be useful in two places while usermapping and creating the file system repository.
3>create a file system rep mgr under
Sys admin -> Sys Config -> KM -> Content MGT -> Repository Managers > File System Repository
    Following properties are most important.
Name , ACL manager cache, Security manager(which you would have to set to W2kSecurity manager)
prefix(this is the folder name that you will identify your repository with) Widws landscape System (this is the sytem id of step 2) and root directory (network path of first step only in this case enter it like this //mypc.myorg.com/pictures)
4>Then under user mapping section, you will find you system (the system id of second step) , enter your name as password.
Initially when you configure your rep manager, you dont need to start ur servlet engine. If you modify any property then you need to re start ur servlet engine.
These are the steps for creating repository
If this still does not get resolved. Then kindly read the limitations of creating the file system repository manager in the link that I had posted in my earlier post.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Unable to create File System Repository using Network Path

    Hi All,
I am trying to create a File System Repository.
I created a networkpath and windows system and used the same while creating File Repository according to the steps in help.
With out using Networkpath(i.e.,If I use IP address,I am able to create File System Repository).
But with the network path,it throws the following error as seen in Component Monitor.
<b>Startup Error:    The localroot does not exist: C:\usr\sap\IGTE\j2ee\j2ee_00\cluster\server\NWP_001
    My network path is NWP_001
    </b>
Did any one face this problem?
    Any help please........
    Rgds,
    Santhosh

    Hi,
I am getting the same error even if I replace(\) by slashes(/).
I tried on EP6SP12 as well as EP6SP2 and got the same error on both.
The repository is searching for a folder named with
n/w path on the portal server itself(i.e, it is searching in the following folder
    <b>C:\usr\sap\IGTE\j2ee\j2ee_00\cluster\server\NWP_001
My network path is NWP_001</b>),instead of searching on the remote system.
Can any one help me in solving the problem
    Thanks in Advance.

  • Is there way to point to KM repository outside the EP installation Folder

    Hi,
Is there way to point to KM repository outside the EP installation Folder.  BY default Ep gives defualt folder structure like
    KM Content  -> Root
under root we have many folders like
    1. attachment
    2. collaboration_sessions
    3. discussiongroups
    4. documents
Instead of built in struture , is there way to define my own repository structure which I will define in my windows system. From EP , I will point to this repositorty as starting point.
    Is this possible .
or I would like go to the Ep's Built in folder ..  say
"documents" ... from there instead of creating all the folder structure inside the documents folder .. I would like to create a link which will point to the my own folder strucure which is outside the Ep's default repository strcture.
    Is this possible ?
    thanks
    pK

    Hi PK G
You can map an already existing folder outside KM into KM by creating repository manager. If the external folder is having documents that also will be mapped.
1.Log on as an Admin user and choose System Administration @ System Configuration @ Knowledge Management @ Configuration @ Content Management @ Repository Managers.
2.To create a CM Repository Manager, choose CM Repository.  You can copy (Duplicate) an existing CM Repository Manager or choose New.
3.Please see the KM Administration Guide for all properties and valid values for configuring a repository manager.Save your repository manager choose OK.
4.To ensure you repository manager has been created, go to Content Administration @ KM Content @ Repositories @ Root.  You should now see your repository manager you created.
