Field of view: in the programme bigger than on the camera display

The following problem occured:
When I captured footage into Adobe Premiere Elements I recognized that the field of view in the programme was bigger than the one I saw on the display of my camera. I mean, there were objects in the left and in the right corner of the frame, which I did not intend to shoot (and which I did not see in the viewer, as well).
Are there any settings I should consider?
Any answers appreciated.

This is fairly common. Few cameras have 100% view. Some show a bit more, but most a bit less.
Now, depending on how you are going to output the footage, it might be no problem. If you're going to TV, via DVD, then the overscan of CRT TV's will possibly crop this extra area off. If you are not sure, or your audience will have newer LED/LCD/etc. TV's, you can do one of several things.
1.) Keep things just as they are, and use the Garbage Matte to eliminate the offending objects. You'll end up with a bit of black, around your final image, unless you have some sort of background behind it.
2.) Keep things just as they are, and use Crop to do about the same. Same result as above.
3.) Use Motion Effect>Scale (and possibly a bit of Position), to enlarge the image to beyond the screen area, approximating what you saw in the viewfinder/LCD. Since you will only be doing a tiny bit of this, quality will not suffer.
Personally, I'd use #3. Trust me, this is far easier in video, than it ever was with film. Without a good budget, it meant a re-shoot, should a mic swing into the frame, or a lightstand peek in at the corner!

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.

Aperture 3 - why does is the library bigger than the original..huge in fact

I've been trying to get 100k images into my A3 library as simple reference files. I've chosen file>import>folders as projects as my path and selected "at current location" in the store files dialogue. As a test I used a folder with 12gb of images to see how this would go. It has ballooned out to over 40gb in the library. Crazy...and unusable.
Ideally I want to simply drag in all my files as reference files (in Aperture 2 I did this and held down the apple/option keys and voila, the loaded up just fine). I don't want to carry around my entire disk of originals...just the references in a smaller hd and go on with my work.
What am I missing here?

Some thoughts:
-- Did you miss type during import? Look inside the Aperture Library Package and see how large the Masters folder is; you may have duplicated your files.
-- How big are your masters and how big are your previews? Aperture defaults to a very high quality preview which can actually be larger than a source JPEG. I have my previews set to one size smaller than my monitor and quality 5. This is more than enough for me and results, with mostly RAW masters, in a 1/4 - 3/4 ratio of previews to masters. Remember, even if you reset the preview size smaller, you will actually have to purge the old ones to get the space back. Check the manual for instructions on how to do this. Rob Boyer has written extensively on preview strategies.
Finally, should you purge/rebuild your previews, consider a defrag after you finish. This can really speed up scrolling operations, etc.

Is there any way to tell "Create MP3 Version" where to create the files other than in the same folder as the songs you want to create the mp3 versions of?

I am trying to get MP3 versions of my non DRM protected songs onto a DVD so I can import them into my cars "Music Register".
There is no easy way to do this that I can see in Itunes . I follow this process..
Highlight the songs I want to copy in Itunes
Select Create MP3 version from main menu
Open up Finder Window showing the Itunes folder with the m4a and MP3 files newly created..
Go Up a directory or 2 to get the Artist 'folder'
copy that folder to my external drive
Delete the MP3 songs from the Itunes folder (I dont want duplicates showing) obviously
Delete the M4a songs from the external drive....
I have about 5000 songs so doing this manually is clearly a complete pain.
I dont think you can force it to create the mp3 files anywhere other than in the current folder in itunes unless someone tells me otherwise
More likely does anyone know of any other software to do this with less effort...
I confess to not being an Itunes fan at all I admit but I like the Match functionality so I keep it otherwise I would cheerfully chuck it in the bin...

It appears I have figured it out. You gotta go down to where it says Destination and tell Lightroom to Organize into One Folder.

Supose I enter Date: 1st Jan 09 to 15th Apr 09, I should get an output out of this range.

Is there a way to make the clock show when the phone is plugged into the charger, rather than have the screen go blank?

I just finally got my first smart phone (I know), an iPhone 4S. I was wondering if there was a way to make it so when the phone is plugged in, the screen stays on but is dimly lit or something, just so I can see the clock without having to press the button? However, I'd want this to be automatic, as I want the screen to go blank when the phone isn't plugged in. I don't want to have to change the setting each time I plug in the phone. I kind of obsessively look at my phones' clocks when I am doing other things and can't be bothered to reach over and press the button.
I couldn't find an option in Settings, so I came here. If there's no way to do it naturally in iOS 5, is there an app someone can recommend?

In imovie how do I seperate all my videos from the photos from iphoto? I have thousands of photos so finding the odd video here or there is like finding a needle in a haystack! Is there a way I can simply import the videos rather than all the photos

One way I was able to do this, was to make a Smart Album in iPhoto, with the rule of showing just the movie files. This will work, once you know what format the movie files are in.
In iPhoto, select one of your movies, and right click it. Look for the option: "Reveal in Finder" or "Show in Finder" (this depends on the version of iPhoto).
Once you see the file, look for the three letters AFTER the period. Like this:
.mov (QuickTime movie)
.avi (Uncompressed Windows Video)
.mpg (MPEG video)
Back in iPhoto, when you make your Smart Album, set it up like this:
Once you have it set like this, press RETURN (or click "Ok").
What you'll see is all the videos that have that file extension (.mov, .avi, .mpg, etc.) listed. Now the nice thing is this: Every new movie you add to iPhoto will automatically get listed here, regardless of where in iPhoto they live!
Integration with iMovie:
By making this album in iPhoto, when you get to iMovie, you'll be able to see the movies when you select your Videos Smart Album.
I hope this helps you out. They have iPhoto and iMovie workshops at Apple Stores that cover this too. They're free, and you can learn a lot.

Ive installed a free trail to my Windows 8 but I have a shortcut on the desktop but it just takes me to the Creative Cloud Apps page on my computer and wont let me open Premier Pro to create a project! PLEASE HELP ME

On my Start there is only a shortcut to Creative Cloud where it takes me to a list of all the apps Ive installed and how to upload work online, rather than allowing me to open the software.

You can open the Quick Apply dialog box with Cmd/Ctrl+Return and type abbreviated fragments of tool names to select some tools. For example:
Type this
abbreviation
For this command
eye
eyedropper tool
swap
swap DnArrow
swap fill and stroke activation
swap fill and stroke colors
gap
gap tool (new in CS5)

type on a path tool

smooth tool
You may need to use DnArrow to select the exact item you want. Press Return to execute the selected item. It takes a while to get used to Quick Apply, but you'll probably like it better than you expect to<G>.
You can experiment to find the shortest memorable (for yourself) abbreviation for most of the toolbox tools and their options. Actually, Quick Apply can bring up almost any of the zillions of InDesign's commands, those on the menus, and many hidden ones, plus, variables, styles, scripts, and more. Search for Quick Apply in InDesign help, and search for "InDesign Quick Apply" (without quotes) in Google.

A "genius" at an Apple store told me to delete the photos from my documents folder and trash them and I would still be able to keep them in iPhoto. Now I cannot use the photos other than in the iPhoto file. Can this be undone?

How can I retreive deleted iPhotos which were deleted from the documents and trash files? I stupidly did this because a "genius" from Apple Store assured me that I would still have access to the photos.

Check iPhoto's Advanced preference pane to see if it's set to a referenced or managed library;
If it's set to a referenced library you photos are gone.
If that's the case they might be able to be recovered with a file recovery app like SubrosaSoft FileSalvage. It will run in demo mode so you can see if it can recover your photos before having to purchase it. Use the iMac as little as possible till them so as not to overwrite them.
If it's set to a managed library launch iPhoto with the Option+Command keys held down and rebuild the library's databse file.
What verson of iPhoto and system are you running?

I just downloaded the ios7 and now it won't let me update any of my apps it keeps takeing me out of the apple store than all the apps that need to be updated are not on the list anymore

I Just downloaded the ios7 on my iPod 5 and it will not let me update my apps every time I try they are gone and it exiting out of the apple store also my battery has been dieing a lot faster lately too

The letters are too small on my screen, I want to display the web pages on the full screen on a 23" monitor.

Did you try holding Control key and click + or Control key and click - to return to former size? This works on XP.
