Field order on cards (and iPhone)

Each time Address Book is open, the custom fields appear in a different order on the card. This is a new bug with Snow Leopard.
Actually, I keep my database in FileMaker, and then weekly export to file / import in Address Book in order to sync with my iPhone. Starting with Snow Leopard, the only way I'm able to get the fields to appear properly at all in Address Book is to delete all contacts, create a card template with everything proper, then import the tab-delimited file.
The random order of fields has been a headache with the iPhone since day 1. The user should be able to create a (permanent) template of the fields and their order in both Address Book and iPhone, rather than what happens now.

Great question! If your device is not fully paid off with Edge you will not be able to trade in the device for the iPhone 6. You can Edge up to the iPhone 6 if you are still under and Edge contract if it has been 30 days since the contract was started and 60% of the device is paid off. If you device is currently fully paid off under the Edge agreement you can trade in the device to get the gift card.

Same Calendars, different order on Mac and iPhone

I've been having the sync problem that many others have been having: i.e., when I sync to one of my two MacBook Pros, the computer overwrites the iPhone. This doesn't happen with the other MacBook. But my more specific question is: I noticed that my iPhone has the same Calendar names as both of my MacBooks, but not in the same order. Does this say that something is wrong, too?

If the Address Book on your Mac includes contact info and the same for your iPhone's address book, the first time you sync with a supported address book on your computer, a merge option should be provided. This should merge the data between the two, not provide duplicates.
If you want the more current contact info that is available on your iPhone transferred to the Address Book on your Mac, the only way to do this is via the merge option which should be provided with the first sync. If you want to ensure than contact info will not be duplicated, and you want the contact info that is available on your iPhone transferred to the Address Book on your Mac, delete all contact info in the Address Book on your Mac except for one contact. This should provide the merge prompt when syncing contact info, which you want to select. If the remaining contact in the Address Book on your Mac is duplicated on your iPhone and with the Address Book on your Mac after the initial sync, you can delete only one duplicate instead of many, if all contact is duplicated when selecting the merge prompt, which I don't believe is what happens with a merge. After the initial sync for contact info, the contact info between the two will be synchronized.
The same applies to calendar events on your iPhone with the first sync with iCal on your Mac.
A merge should merge the data, not create duplicates, but I haven't tried the same after restoring the Address Book on my Mac from a backup with a new hard drive.

Motion and Field Order Stupidness

I'll try not to rant too much.
But what is up with Motion and working with DV NTSC video with fields? I have had nothing but headaches. I am a long time After Effects user, and I was glad to get Motion 2 (2.1.2), but I've just spent the last hour and half trying to get it to render DV NTSC video correctly without it getting field jitter on a project that needed to be over-nighted to go on the air. And it still doesn't look totally correct. (I'm not a happy camper)
Here's the deal, I took DV captured footage from FCP using the standard DV/DVCPRO - NTSC preset I've used forever. That footage was imported into a Motion project that was using its own NTSC DV project preset (all lower fields -even). But every time I'd play it back in Motion, or render it out (still using the NTSC DV render preset), I get serious field jitter on DV output.
Eventually I found under the Inspector-Media tabs that the footage was imported as Field Order- None (why I have not a clue). So I changed all the footage to Lower (even). That worked on any footage where size, rotation, or position was not changed. If any of those attributes was changed I get the field order jitter. It seems to me that Motion is not able to render out field ordered video properly and the quality looks poor or jittery.
Now that might seem hasty to say that, but I've been doing the same thing in AE for years, never having to change the imported field order to get it to look right and I have always captured, imported, work with projects and rendered using the QT DV/DVCPRO - NTSC presets.
Can someone help me because I can not believe I've had to change so many setting to try to get video to look right from Motion while using the same settings during the entire workflow.

I gave that a shot this morning, and I'm having the same problem. See what's going on now is after changing the Field Order to even for the footage media, all of it looks decent except for the ones on an angle, croped or resized and I see this in both Motion's preview and the final render when I play it back in FCP. So as per your suggestion I rendered with the animation codec (filed rendering) and it still has it. Its just odd to me that it does that, like I said before I've worked in the DV/DVCPRO - NTSC codec with FCP and AE for years with no quality degrade. The reason I have always do that is that's what I capture to and that what my FCP project is so to keep it all consistant. BTW, this is going network and cable, no different than I usually do.

Yes I am, sorry, I should have pointed that out. I have done combinations of different QT codecs with and without field rendering turned on to see different results. None of course resolves this issue.

Field Order for Upscaling DVD player

I have a edited HDV project that I have output to DV using the following settings:
Video Compressor - DV NTSC
Field Order: Lower Field First
When I play this on a standard DVD player everything looks fine. The field order looks correct and the object edges look smooth.
However when I play the same DVD in an Upscaling DVD player on an HD TV (720p) there is a "comb effect" around the edges of objects.
I would like the video to play well on both types of setups (non-scaling and upscaling)
What am I doing wrong? What encoder should I be using to get the correct output on both upscaling players and standard?

Downscaling HDV and then upscaling it again for HDTV. Best not to do that and just leave the video HD all the way for HD display.
Get a Blu-ray player is my advice.

Exporting settings for H.264 "Field order & TV standart & Profile"?

So, in premiere CC, when exporting to H.264 format. There is these options in the video tab.

I have 2 questions
What do they change in your video? and does it matter in this day & age?
(I know there the "leave mouse cursor on top of it, get yellow explaining box" but's its technical ciberish to me)

If working with 1080i, then Field Order does matter, and should be set to UPPER.
For 1080p or 720p, then of course it should be set to PROGRESSIVE.
You are correct that "NTSC or PAL" should not really apply when discussing HD formats, for the simple reason that NTSC and PAL refer specifically to standard definition broadcast standards. However, the terms have morphed into being used to differentiate between the NTSC and PAL framerates, being 29.97 and 25 respectively, which does still apply to HD formats.
As for the Profile setting, that depends on the mode of delivery, whether YouTube or Blu-ray or mobile device or whatever. I don't know of any general rule applying in that area. I just use Presets appropriate to my needs and leave the Profile as is, since the Adobe engineers ought to know the best setting for any given preset.

14 Days after ordering a "Card" still no delivery!

I sent 4 "Cards" from the "Cards" program on my iPad3 - from May to July 2012. All were delivered in 5-8 days from ordering-- Europe and the USA. BUT on 2 Oct I ordered a card and although the eMail confirmation came in just a few days - it has now been 13 days and still no delivery to the recipient. How to contact Apple? (Delivery is by the US post office so I don't thing Apple can do anything after telling me via eMail that the order was processed…)
Expensive but nice cards-- but if this is the result-- 14 days with no delivery, then this is the 5th, but LAST time I use that service.
Any comments from anyone appreciated.

You don't, frankly. You can't mi and match card orders.
Can I mix and match items on the same order?

For further detail, a SIM card is a very small, thin, printed circuit card which you insert into a tiny drawer in your mobile device. It is your mobile/cellular account, with your personal details on it. So you can move it from one device to another. Before smartphones (like the iPhone), SIM cards also contained your Contact list. Since smartphones contain so much information now, the SIM card just identifies you to the cellular/mobile network. It means you can carry your phone number with you from one phone to another.
You can get a SIM card for iPad from any Apple Store or phone shop. Note that the newer iPhones and the iPads use what's called a "micro-SIM", which is smaller than a regular SIM card, so it takes up less room inside the phone, and they can stick more hardware in there for better performance. Is the phone locked to a carrier? If it is not locked you should be able to activate it with any SIM and not necessarily an active sim.
