Field shift issue?

I'm experimenting with a mix of footage and I think I may have a field shift issue on some of it, from DV sources, mixed in with standard 1920 x 1080 HD. I'm using an AJA IOExpress to monitor on an external plasma, it looks a bit jittery but I can't really tell. How can I check this before outputting my movie as a QuickTime, to have my online staff put to tape? It used to be easy - the Kona output would be a reference, down HDSDI.

A different take on the "Save For Web" color shift issue...

Ok, everyone who has fussed much with photoshop and "Save For Web" knows about the color shift issue. If you want your colors to look right after you "save for web", you have to work in the sRGB colorspace, and have Proof Colors checked (soft proofing on) and the proof color setup set to Monitor RGB, otherwise what you get looks terrible when displayed in a browser.
But of course if you are editing for print, this is exactly what you DON'T want to do. Well, I work in both. In fact, often the same images, and I want them to appear as close as reasonably possible in both print and web formats, and without a lot of fussing on my part. And I'm pickiest about the print mode, since I have the most control there, so that's the way I want to edit by default.
Nothing new here.
Now comes the interesting part (in my mind, anyway). Obviously there is a known remapping -- because PhotoShop DOES it when you select Proof Colors. So the inverse mapping must also be known (with some gamut issues, but I'm not concerned with those, because, after all, I'm VIEWING it on a monitor anyway!). What I want is a plug-in that automatically applies that inverse mapping so that, when I do a Save For Web, I end up with the colors I've been viewing all the time when setting the shot up in print mode. Then, too, I don't have to worry about what mode I'm in when I'm editing -- it just fixes it when doing a save-for-web.
Again, I want to edit in my normal print mode (typically ProPhoto colorspace, and with soft-proofing off or set to the printer/medium combination I expect to use), then do a single operation (might be a multi-step action) to "screw up" my colors so that when I then do a "Save-For-Web", the resulting image, when viewed on the average color-stupid browser, looks like the image I've been seeing in Photoshop.
Anyone know of such a beast?   I would gladly pay for a plug-in that really works and fixes the problem.
And if you have other solutions, I'm interested, but the absolute requirement is that it I do one single edit pass for my colors for both print and web use, and I get what I see on the screen in PS on both the prints and on the web display (i.e., working in sRGB/Monitor RGB mode all the time won't cut it). And PREFERABLY, let me do all my editing work in the ProPhoto (or at least AdobeRGB) colorspace so I have a gamut closer to what the printer can do.
Anyone got a decent solution for this?

Sorry, I think I'm being unclear. This has nothing to do with individual monitor profiles. In Proof Setup, "Monitor RGB" amounts to turning off ALL color management, and simply letting the monitor do what it will. It is what the vast majority of web browsers do (even if the operating system provides color management, the browsers don't take advantage of it), so that is what you need to consider for images that will be viewed on a web browser. If you convert your image to sRGB, select Monitor RGB in Proof Set up, and turn on Proof Colors, you will see the image as it would appear on a web browser (after you save it as a jpg or use "Save For Web/Devices" to save it as a jpg).   Since almost everyone is running different uncalibrated monitors, there will be lots of variation in how it will look to them, so precise control of the color is unimportant.
That said, I would expect the color on a calibrated monitor (such as the one I use when editing) to be reasonably close to the colors I am seeing while editing in PS. To the extent a monitor deviates from "calibrated", those colors will vary, but a good monitor should show good colors.   Unfortunately, this is NOT the case, as my previous post shows. The colors produced by the steps above are oversaturated and significantly shifted in hue. There is, to my mind, anyway, no reason for this. Adobe clearly knows what the mapping is between the colors as it displays them in PS and the un-controlled "Monitor RGB" -- that is, it is the color map they are using during normal editing display. If they were to reverse-apply that map prior to saving it as a jpg, then the image would appear on a browser on that same (presumably calibrated) monitor very similar to what you set up when editing. Anyone else viewing the image on a web browser with a calibrated monitor would also see good colors. To the extent other viewers' monitors are out of calibration, their colors will suck, but there's nothing you can do about that.
I guess in some sense I AM "asking for a Color-Mamangement-solution for a "non-Color-Management-situation", but specifically I'm asking for PS Color Management to do the best it can for non-Color-Managed situations that we all face every day.
Does that make more sense?

I spent all day Googling and doing side by side comparisons of my old and new systems.
My display is a Dell U2410. It has several presets, including sRGB and Adobe RGB. I've been using sRGB.
On my OLD system, (Win XP, PsCS2, DwCS4) there seems to be no distinction between color managed and non color managed apps, even on this wide gamut display. I could capture (digital camera) in Adobe RGB, open and edit in PsCS2, save as .psd, convert to CMYK for print, or convert to sRGB for SFW. All images looked identical and they printed and displayed perfectly. I thought this was normal, and seemed logical. This also seems to be the source of my incorrect assumptions. I was trying to get my new machine to behave like my old one.
So I get this new machine (Windows 7, PsCS5, DwCS5) and now (still in sRGB display mode) all color managed apps appear de-saturated. Non color managed apps are OK. If I switch the display to Adobe RGB, color managed apps are OK, but non color managed apps are way too saturated. From my investigation, I believe this is normal behavior on a wide gamut display. I've tried changing the Control Panel > Display > Screen Resolution > Advanced settings > Color Management options, but to no avail. Either I'm missing something, or Windows 7 is doing color management differently.
It seems my only option now is to use Adobe RGB display setting for Ps, etc. and switch to sRGB for Dw and non color managed apps. Or, have 2 separate files for print and web. I've Googled 'til my eyes are numb and still not sure I'm getting this. Any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated.

Final Cut Pro 7 Phase Shift of Field shift

Good Afternoon....
I am editing video shot on a DSLR and between every cut there is a freeze frame....
I can't tell if it is a phase shift or field shift.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem or a pay phone support
service in Palm Beach Area?

Select the sequence in the FCP Browser, then go to the menu File > Media Manager and use the Media Manager to Recompress your material.
Choose recompress, then choose the correct flavor of ProRes for your Frame size and Frame Rate.
Note that the resultant files will be considerably larger than the original. This is normal and correct as the highly compressed files are "unpacked" for editing use.

Field Header issue while integrating BO on Bex query

Hi All
I have a integration problem of BO on Bex query.Wondering anyone had a similar problem before.
I have a report which has Grant Description, Grant Key and some measures in the report layout. The report also has some additional available fields like Company Code and Company Code Key which can be dragged and dropped into the report by an end user.

When i include the object in Webi report (using BICS connection) i see fields like "Grant description " and "Grant Description- Key (not compounded)" (clicking on the dimension in the query panel) or Company Code and Company Code - Key. In the report layout headers, i have used substring function to remove the unnecessary part (e.g. for Grant columns)
The problem is with the objects which is not in the report layout and can be dragged in. For example in the above scenario business users wants the name to be changed to "Company Code" and "company Code -No" when they drag these fields in the report. I can't change the object name if it is not in the report layout (unless i create a variable and 'somehow' hide the original object called "Company Code - Key"). I am also reluctant to create a variable in BO and name it accordingly as this report is a multilingual report (based on BW userid the headers will come in French, English or spanish). I would like to keep the headers same as that in BW for multilingual function to work (which is defined in BW).
BW developers can probably create new infoobjects and populate the field with company code key data but that is a very big a task considering the so many report we have which needs key for all the objects.
Is there a way the name can be changed to "Company Code- No" when creating a Webi report using bex query (using BICS connection and not universe) ? Really appreciate if someone can share their views on this issue as it looks like an integration issue to me.

I actually search for notes, but found non relevant for our system. The BW notes can actually be implemented as there is an "embedded" BW server, but it's release seems to be high enough.
I don't think the query is "hanging". The "loading" popup stops after a few minutes and then simply shows the "empty" entry with an updated timestamp under BEx documents. We don't receive any errors.
Not too familiar with "tracing" within BO, but I'll give it a try (after doing some research and consulting some (ex-)colleagues). I have asked to "update" our front end tools too, as we're rather "low" (and have some Dashboard issues as well). So, since it's already (late) Friday afternoon here, I might just wait on that update (almost time to start my weekend).

Field Catelog Issue for ALV Grid

I have generated the ALV Dynamically based on the Date Range entered on the selection screen, now I am able to fill the values into the structure also, here my problem is date is like S858-spbup ( mm/yyyy format), what ever the values I have moved is S858-umwavwr(Currency values), now I want to sub total these values. Since my field catelog is date format that is why it is not doing subtotals.

    gs_fc-seltext_l = date.
    gs_fc-seltext_m = date.
    gs_fc-seltext_s = date.
    gs_fc-ref_fieldname = 'umwavwr'.
    gs_fc-ref_tabname = 'S858'.

    APPEND gs_fc TO gt_fc.
it is doing subtotal but the issue is in ALV header it is not displaying like date (for example 06/2005),instead it is displaying the name as ref_fieldname text. How to resolve this issue. Please help me.

now I am able to display the output like this, but the problem here is i am unable to subtotal these, bcz my field catelog is date type that is why do_sum is not working, that is why I took ref_feield name as UMWAVWR and S858, it is subtotaling but I am unable to see the header like above, instead it is displaying like
CSR District   invoice:Cost invoice:Cost Invoice:cost tot
so please advise me how to proceed further.

Field alignment issue on a page

Hi -
I am trying to align the fields on an apex page but not able to find a way.
Basically I have 2 rows of columns shown on an apex page.
First row has 4 fields (Text box items):
And second row has 2 fields (Text box items)
1st row > Name|---------------------------| Address|-----------| Ph1|-------------------| Ph2|-------------------|
2nd row> Indicator|----| Active|------|
So I want the second row fields to be under the first row's first field. I am trying to do that using START_TBL and STOP_TBL but the second field (Active field) from the 2nd row is always showing after the end of the 1st row's first field's (Name field) length on the 2nd row.
Desired:
1st row > Name*|---------------------------|* Address*|-----------|* Ph1*|-------------------|* Ph2*|-------------------|*
2nd row> Indicator*|---|* Active*|----|*
But getting:
1st row > Name*|---------------------------|* Address*|-----------|* Ph1*|-------------------|* Ph2*|-------------------|*

Thanks so much osgood... a really strange one as those parts of the page are locked out (i.e. controlled by the template only), so to resolve the issue I've created a new page altogether, copied and pasted the index code in, and resaved as the index.html file. Custom fields mapping issue of sales order replication from R/3 to CRM

Hello Experts,
I have to replicate sales orders from R/3 to CRM system (Initial and Delta)
The issue is I have custome fields in R/3 which are maintained in custom table(Z table) in R/3.
We added those custom fields in CRM customer_i table to synchronise with R/3 data.
To MAP R/3 custom fields to CRM custom fields, i have the following customization.
1. Added the custom function module in the event CRMO_200 and moved all the custom fields into interal table IT_OTHER_INFO.
2. The intrnal table IT_OTHER_INFO with data is passed into CRM standard function modules.
3. But in CRM the BADI 'CRM_DATAEXCHG_BADI' implementation does not have the input parameter of internal table TI_OTHER_INFO.
All my custom data is in internal table TI_OTHER_INFO.
Please suggest where can i map this data to CRM enhanced fields.

I went through the Note (1053817). It is good. I understand that the custom fields should enhance in the BAPE_VBAP in R/3.
My Scenario:
Goal: Orders replication from R/3 to CRM along with Custom fields.
In R/3, all the custom fields are maintained in Z table (Not VBAK or VBAP).
All these custom fields are belongs to Item level.
In CRM, The custom fields are maintained in CRMD_CUSTOMER_I table though AET.
I need to MAP these custom fields to CRM while order replication from R/3 to CRM.

Image Field - Scaling Issue

I'm using Interactive Forms for priting sales orders. For each line item I display a small product image in an image field. For this image field I use the setting "Sizing - Scale Image Proportionally". If I use this form as a print form evrything works fine, the image is being scaled correctly. But if I use it as an interactive form (parameter /1BCDWB/DOCPARAMS-FILLABLE = 'X' ) the following occurs:
The image is being resized to fit into the image field. It looks like using "Sizing - Scale Image to Fit Rectangle". The funny thing: If I use a default image for this field, it is being displayed correctly in the "Body Pages" tab, but not in the "PDF Preview". It's only being scaled proportionally if in the form properties the preview type is "Print Form" (or parameter /1BCDWB/DOCPARAMS-FILLABLE = ' ' ).
In my eyes it looks like an ADS issue. But maybe somebody of you got an idea how I could fix that problem.

the process which u followed is correct but the thing is u hv forget to enable the check box called "embedded image"........ which will be present in the image properties.......... if u enable this check box then the image will be displayed in pdf preview.

Screen shifting issues

I recently bought a 3g Iphone and just noticed that the screen shifter feature doesn't work every time I'm using Itunes. I know that the phone has to be vertical to the ground in order to work. The weird thing is that it works fine say 4 out of 5 times. If I take it to an Apple Store can they hook it up to a computer to run a diagnostic test to see if it is faulty? Has anybody else noticed this problem. Thanks in advance.

The accelerometer in the iPhone may not be working as expected. Yes, you can take it to an Apple Store for diagnostics, and have the iPhone exchanged if the issue is hardware and the iPhone is still in warranty.

Custom infotype - field length issue

Hi experts,
We have a requirement of keeping so much free text fields in the custom infotype. However, the system doesnu2019t allow having these many fields in the PS structure. We got the information from the error description as- The maximum length of PS structures for infotypes is 1000; this is the length of the general infotype header in bytes. Could you please suggest some way to solve this issue?

Give a field and try to enter some decription for large text in that field .
Create a table for that field and give F4 for that .
Maintain the text in SO10 and call that text using read_text fn module .

Field order issues after export to DV Pal from uncompressed

We are experiencing some difficulty exporting clips from FCP to our Omneon Server for TX.
We are capturing 8 bit uncompressed (AJA and Blackmagic) from digibeta for our edit and all editing stays in uncompressed until final output. Our transmission system demands DV PAL files so we export finished items as DV PAL in FCP and drop onto the server
Our problem is that on playback from the server, the field order is incorrect. Although the exported DV clips properties show lower field order, the clip is obviously playing upper field first. If we capture and edit in DV and export the DV file to the server, then we have no problems. I have tried
exporting uncompressed clips to DV via Compressor and changing the field order in frame controls but no success. It seems that when a clip is captured and edited in upper field it hangs onto that status even after conversion to DV!! Any thoughts greatly appreciated!

when you drop one of your 8 bit uncompressed source clips into your DV PAL timeline, is FCP correctly adding the Shift Fields filer to those timeline instances?
do you edit in 8-bit uncompressed and then export direct to DV PAL or do you nest your 8 bit uncompressed sequence into a DV PAL sequence first and then export as Quicktime Movie w/ current settings? if not the latter, try it (and make sure your nest has the Shift Fields filter applied)

Field selection issue in dev & quality server for PO

Dear All,
I have an issue regarding PO field setting in development and quality server.
Requirement was that PO can not be created without PR (means PR is mandatory) for a particular document type ZDOM.
So i have created new field selection filed by copying NBF field selection and assigned with document type ZDOM.
So when i am testing this scenario in DEV server it is working fine but after transporting to Quality server, it is not working in q system.
Again i reimpoted the same request but still it is not working. So what could be the reason?

I have done the same settings in my development client. But I can still create PO without reference PR.
Then I have tried parameter EFB. Then its working perfect..
Use buyers authorization in OMET..
Check the settings..
Here untick the option W/o Reference..
Then assign the profile to user id in SU3.
Then try to create PO without PR.. You will receive a authorization error...
But the problem is its user level not at client level..
Test and revert back..

Continuation of Field Shift Question

This is a continuation of my previous question which was answered. Using the rect property, I am able to move a field horizontally or vertically based on the value of a radio button (yes/no). If Yes, I want to shift a specific field down. If No, I keep the field in its original position. The problem I am encountering is when a user toggles between Yes and No. The specific fields are shifted down due to the radio button value being Yes and when the value is changed to No, the fields remain in the new position. Is there a way to Setthe X,Y coordinates of a field using rect or rectangle? Did some research but can't figure it out.

Out of curiosity, instead of opening a new thread, should I have just replied to the original thread?
The problem is when a user toggles through the Yes and No values on the radio button. Ideally, the user would only select one or the other. If so, my script using rect would move the fields down if yes is selected and keep the fields in their original position if no is selected. However, if a user selects yes, then changes their selection to no, the fields will stay in the new position and not revert to the original position.
I wanted to see if there was a way to actually set the rect properties to actual X,Y coordinate values so that when Yes is selected, the fields move to a specific position and when No is selected, the fields move to a specific position. I am using part of a script I found in the reference guides and my lack of knowledge of this script property is leading to my confusion.
The code I'm using is:

By changing the "else" part of the script, I can have the field move up (+= 100) if No is selected after Yes. The problem with adding that to the script is if a user selects No first, the field will move up.
Additionally, I thought I could avoid a lot of the headache here by marking either Yes or No as the default value but my form also has a reset button and when the form is reset, the fields move either up or down depending on the last value.
Is there a way to set the coordinates to specific values? My script is using the fields current position to move accordingly.
