FieldPoint I/O Data Type versus Fieldpoint I/O Point Data Type
I have upgrated a project from LV 8.5 version to LV 2011 the Fieldpoint Data Types are different in LV 8.5 it is FieldPoint I/O and in LV 2011 it is Fieldpoint I/O Point. I built the proyect and tried to run it, no errors were present. Now the application can't read or write to the cFP-2100 controller module. In MAX i can see the controller, the modules and the channels both under Data Neighborhood and Remote Systems.
Setup:
Controller and Host Drivers: Field Point 6.0.10
Labview engine 2011

According to the Fieldpoint driver readme, you need different versions of the driver for 8.5 to 2011 (The latest version that supports 8.5 is 6.0.8, which doesn´t support LV 2011. Could you confirm that this is the FP driver version that you were using in 8.5 (Fieldpoint 6.0.8).
You can check if the syntax changed between 6.0.8 and 6.0.10 by creating a constant from one of the fieldpoint VI's and see if the syntax there is the same as the one in LV 8.5. Also, are the VI's that show up in the FP palette the same in both the 8.5 and 2011 versions?
Finally, you said that you can run your application in 2011 without any errors but it can't communicate with the cFP. Does the program ever throw an error? (Like a timeout error)
I'll check for more compatibility issues between versions once you confirm which version were you using in LV 8.5.

In 8.8.1 Geospatial Features chapter, Point Data Dictionary sub-chapter are written:
Any 2D object (image XObject....) that contains a measure dictionary
of subtype GEO can optionally include a PtData entry.
The value of a PtData entry is a point data dictionary or an array
of point data dictionaries of extended data associated with points in the 2D space.
Table 8.111d list the entries of a point data dictionary.
There are three predefined names:
LAT, latitude in degress. The XPTS value is a number type.
LON, longitude in degrees. The XPTS value is a number type.
ALT, altitude in meters. The XPTS value is a number type.
I have already generated a valid measure dictionary of subtype GEO.
In Adobe Reader XI:
Edit -> Analysis -> Geospatial Location tool
it shows latitude\longitude for the selected point of flat PDF map.
I.e. it works fine!
However, I am interesting to show altitude (elevation) for the selected point.
As I understand heights map could be specified by PtData dictionary.
But I do not see any "elevation", or "height", or "altitude" parameter in Geospatial location tool.
What do I wrong?
I tried to find some working example of such 2D geo-registred PDF file in internet
which also contains information about elevation (or altitude) in PtData dictionary,
but unsuccessfully.
I think that it could be very good if some flat PDF map will reports elevation for the specified point.

The difficulty is understanding what boxes to click on or off. I've been in that menu, and tried a number of things but the rights in reader do not allow the user to add and save text. Hello,
I have sceanrio where file->Synchronus bapi ->File.
For this I have defined a bpm.
Text file inut will be read and converted using sender FCC.
Bpm will call a synchronus bapi from r/3 and collect response. I need to create a success or error response file from the status of bapi response. I have used switch step to do that.
But here when I give condtion as this XPath SOResonse./p1:Z_BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROM3.Response/RETURN1/TYPE = S, SXI_CACHE gives status of bpm as 99 and error message is 'TYPE' is not a component of data object 'PAYLOAD'.
At the same time if i just put a condition of simple type container variable (SuccessCounter = 0), it gives status 0 in SXI_CACHE.
Pl can anyone suggest on this as its urgent.

CRM BP type Sold-to-party Sales Area Data button not displayed
Hi Gurus,
Currently we are in the system preparation stage, but there's a problem in BP maintenance. For the BP type Sold to Party, the sales area data button is not showing up in the button bar with the General data. I only can see General data and Relationships here.
The sales area has been maintained in the system already and can be displayed in the reference bp. Not sure any config will affect.
Appreciate if anyone can give me a clue.

If you have chosen the role, and the button is not coming up following could be the possibilities:
1. It might sound funny but it is a possibility that You might ALREADY be in the Sales Area data screens. Check if the "General Data" button is active. if it IS active then you ARE in the Sales area data.
2. If not 1, above, then check the authorisation for the id to create BP for Sold to party and / or Sales area.
3. Still No, then check if the screen config for creating BP is std or its a customised one wherein maybe the button has been rendered inactive. You can check by taking an existing BP who might already be a sold to part for a sales area. If this is your first case for a Sold to party then you might look at the screen config for sure.

Data size bigger than max size for this type - DB Control
All,
We are using a Java Control to fetch and store data
- it fetches data from a webservice through a webservice control
- it stores data in to database using a database control (stores the data as BLOB)
Here currently we facing an error - weblogic.jws.control.ControlException: ControlException on control databaseManager[Data size bigger than max size for this type: 4516]
The data is definitely not overshooting the max capacity of BLOB which is 4 GB. Initially this process was overshooting the transaction time-out limit of 300 sec but currently this is well within the transaction time-out limit and error happens soon after the webservice returns the data.
a. Are there any known issues with using BLOB's with database controls ?
b. what are the options - if we face this error ?

b. what are the options - if we face this error ?
Hi Sudeep. The problem is that WLW is trying to set the datum as a byte array
and the oracle driver won't take a byte array that big. Please check whether
WebLogic Workshop has any explicit instructions for BLOB data. Otherwise, do
contact official BEA support for your WebLogic WorkShop issue.

First, I'd like to thank you for release 1.2.1, it works like
a charm! Keep up the good work. Here are my questions:
1. When parsing a stored procedure, I get the message "Data
size bigger than max size for this type". Can you tell me what
causes this?
2. Is there any list of all the error messages that can be
given by Migration Workbench?

With respect to your questions :
1. Could you possibly send [email protected] (that is
our helpdesk, a direct line into development) a little more
information about what you were doing. Also, if you could
send us the stored procedure in question (no data required)
then we could try to reproduce the error in-house and better
evaluate what is going on.
2. The majority of errors ORA-**** are actually generic
Oracle errors and can be found in the Server documentation.
As for our specific errors most parser messages can be
found in the appendix "Parser Reference" from the help system.

I have a question about the data type of the difference between two date type of datas.
There are two date type of datas as:
SSHIPMENTS.RECEIVEDATETIME
SSHIPMENTS.PROMISEDATETIME
I try to use the following SQL Script in Oracle SQL*Plus as:

From 1 DB:Data size bigger than max size for this type
I am getting error while inserting text file as a string in the table (oracle DB)as :java.sql.SQLException: Data size bigger than max size for this type: 11412
This particular column is Long data type.
The mystry is there is: In one DB instance the code is working fine without error but in other DB instance its giving the following Error:

How could I Write data into a field in Oracle whose data type is VARCHAR2
The target data I want to write into Oracle is in http://tw.yahoo.com/info/utos.html.
Now, these data is stored in Mysql database and the field which stores these data uses "Text" as its data type.
I want to derive these data from mysql database and store them into a field of oracle database.
In oracle, I create field whose data type is varchar2(4000) to store these data.
I use JSP to derive data from mysql and insert into oracle through JDBC.
But the result of the page shows me that "javax.servlet.ServletException: Data size bigger than max size for this type: 25623".
Please anyone could help to resolve this problem?
Thank you very much.My hunch is that the problem is that VARCHAR2(4000), but default, allocates 4000 bytes of storage. Depending on your database character set, a single character may require up to 4 bytes of storage.
If you are on 9i, you can declare the column VARCHAR2(4000 CHAR) to allocate 4000 characters of storage. You can also set NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS to CHAR, which will cause Oracle to assume that your declarations are in characters rather than bytes.

Date in External Content Type 1 hour later than MSSQL date
I have an MSSQL table with a date column. I have created an external content type which pulls data from from this MSSQL table. But when the content type is shown in a list in Sharepoint 2010 site, the date is 1 hour later than the date from the MSSQL table?

This is my SP 2010 dates:I'm going to guess that this has to do with server time and sharepoint time. SharePoint time can be found under regional settings. Check to see that it's consistent with the time zone of your other server.

because of transferring my project from one pc to another pc i am getting following error:

first chance exception of type 'System.TypeInitializationException' occurred in System.Data.dll
Additional information: The type initializer for 'System.Data.Common.DbConnectionOptions' threw an exception.
If there is a handler for this exception, the program may be safely continued.

This seems to be related with an environment issue, please have a check the worked machine and the non-worked one, to compare if there are some difference.

This could be due to missing references. Or it could be due to an error in the app config file. Is it possible for you to post your code about the connect part and the connection string? And here is an article describes how to process the first chance exception:

How to determine type and access of REF TO DATA
Hello experts,
I have a structure with two fields, one string as name/ID and the second one REF TO DATA as placeholder for any value, so DATA can take for example another string or a numeric value or whatever. Ok, now I want to handle this DATA based on it's type, which is unknown at that point. So I first DESCRIBE the field (its type). If for example this type results in a string, I want to move this string data from REF TO DATA into a local string value. Then I want to reformat the string value and save it again to the REF TO DATA field.
So, in short, I have these tasks:
1. determine type of REF TO DATA
2a. if it's a string, then move the val. of the string into a local string variable
2b. or alternatively do something else, if it's not a string value
3. do something with the local string, then save it back to the REF TO DATA field
Any ideas?

I think you missed a little and very important detail here:
ASSIGN ls_rec-value TO <fs>.
That's not what we want, instead you need to use:
ASSIGN ls_rec-value->* TO <fs>.
That's why you are obtaining this type 'l' which is refering to a TYPE REF TO DATA itself. Doing it the right way your final type would be 'C' which corresponds with a character data type.

Is complex type request supported by web service data set?
I just installed OBIEE 11g and tried to create data models with web services. It works fine for web services that takes simple data types and returns complex data types. But if the request to the web service is a complex type, it doesn't work. On the Edit Data Set page, I selected "true" for Complex Type. After I entered WSDL url, it populated the Web Service dropdown, but not the Method dropdown. Any ideas?
The other problem I am having with web service data set is that it seems to ignore the attributes in the xml response. Only xml element is recognized.
e.g. in <trigger priority="0" font_size="0"/>, priority and font_size are ignored in the data set. Please advise. Thanks.Hi,
