FieldPoint Write LabVIEW Error -33499

Hi all,
I'm going to try to explain this as coherently as possible:
I've got an application running on a cFP-2200 that uses LabVIEW 8.6.1 and FieldPoint 6.0.4.  This application is communicating with some IO modules on a FP-1601 over Ethernet.  I've set up my devices in Project Explorer, and they match the hardware configuration exactly.  (I double checked all of the IPs and everything.)  I compile the RT executable and place it on the controller when it's connected to my development machine.  Then I disconnect the controller (physically) pick it up off of my desk, and connect it outside in our equipment.  (This equipment is on an isolated network - I can't connect to it from my development PC)
Oddly, I'm getting error -33499 on my FieldPoint writes to the FP-1601 bank of modules.  The description for -33499 is "Cannot communicate with the specified remote module."  I've troubleshot lots of FP errors before, but I've never seen this one.
There's a PC on this isolated network that runs my client application that communicates with the controller. On that PC, I can see the modules in MAX and on the distributed system manager.  I even checked the aliases file on the RT controller, too,and those IPs match up.  I know the modules are communicating -- just not with my RT application, and I can't find any instance of this error code anywhere on the NI site. .
Can someone shed some light on why this would be occurring?  Has anyone ever gotten this error code?  Hopefully I've provided enough information.
Thanks,
Jim
P.S.  Due to the proprietary nature of the code, I can't post it.  I could probably take screenshots of portions of it, though.

Hi Will,
Thanks for your response - you've brought up
some great suggestions.   Actually, on Friday before you posted your
message I brought the controller back to my desk (the development
machine) and completely reformatted it.  I also built the Fieldpoint
hierarchy over again in Project Explorer, and placed all new tags in my
FieldPoint IO VIs.  Lastly, I checked fpremote.ini on the cFP-2200 to
verify that the IPs match the textual aliases that appear in the FP
tags.
After all of that I thought for sure that
everything would connect properly, but as of this morning I'm still
getting some instances of error -33499.
Another detail that may be useful is the following:
We've
got sort of an unusual setup.  The cFP-2200 controller resides outside
of a hazardous area, while two FP-1601s reside inside the hazardous
area.  The cFP-2200 checks to ensure that it's safe to power up the
1601s and their associated equipment, and then turns them on after the
check completes.  I would expect a few errors to be thrown when
initially trying to connect to the 1601s right after they power up, but
the -33499 errors persist indefinitely and they seem atypical among
the errors I've seen in the past.
I'm sure by now that
this is as clear as mud.  If you have any insight, though, I'd be very
appreciative.  Do you know, specifically, in which instances -33499
shows up?  There are several errors that result from bad connections
and it can seem a little ambiguous at times.
Thanks very much,
 Jim

  • Fieldpoint write.vi error - 33816 (Unexpected character received from Optomux response)

Hi, I have been running a program for a few months now and yesterday I got an error at the fieldpoint write.vi error - 33816 (Unexpected character received from Optomux response). The program will run fine for approx. 5 minutes and then the error occurs, if I click continue the program will run fine again for another 5-10 minutes before occuring again. The field point module that is being affected is a digital output which is controlling a relay connected to a heating element. When the error occurs it freezes the program and if the relay happens to be on it can cause a potentially dangerous over temperature event. Luckily I happened to be in the room when it first occured but the program is supposed to rund 24-7. I tried taking off automatic error handling but that caused the program to run incorrectly.
What is causing this error ?? Why did it just materialize ? How can prevent it from happening again ?
Any insight would be greatly appreciated !

I believe Optomux was used for the serial connection scheme (please correct me if I'm wrong) so we are looking for something that could corruprt the serial comm.
    Quick Test:
Try disconnecting the relay and run the program without the heater and external circuitry to rule out glitches etc.

    Hello baalbiss,
Which version of the 488.2 driver do you have installed?  Just to confirm, you are able to communicate with the instrument through MAX, but not through LabVIEW?  Did you recently upgrade to LabVIEW 2009?

  • Labview error GPIB controller not adressed correctly

I get this Labview error: GPIB controller not adressed correctly (LV5.1, win NT4) when i try to send data to a HP4275A LCR meter. How ever it works on an older system running with LabView 5.0 (also NT)!!!
How can I get rid of this problem????

Hi Diego, thanks for the hints!
I tried to configure (GPIB) everything standard.
when I try a 488 command initialze, I get the controller conflict, when i don't do this I get atime out problem either by 488 write-command or by 488.2 send-command.
the differences between the systems where it works and where not are:
    working: Win 95, LV 5.0, GPIB-card/TNT (plug & play)
    not-working: WinNT, LV 5.1, GPIB-card/PCI
i tried to set baord config to the same parameters...
on the faulti system however I see the instrument with the MAX and I can send commands, without problems !!!!
Also the driver you posted does not work (but the NI-communicate program ;-)
i have no clue what else to do!
btw. how do I copy the spy output when running the program? I may provide
    this to find errors.
Since MAX indicates the board is all right I guess it is not necessary to reinstall the boarddrivers?!

  • "write medium error" when trying to burn a music cd

i've tried a few different times to burn a cd on my itunes and the same thing happens every time: i insert a black disk and my computer begins to make a noise that sounds not unlike grinding. the progress bar at the top of the itunes box says it is checking the songs, then initializing the burn, which it does for a couple minutes. then it says it is finalizing the burn, and spits the cd back out at me. a message then pops up on the screen which tells me that the cd was unable to burn because of a "write medium error." any help in this area will be greatly appreciated.
p.s. i also tried downloading and installing the new itunes, as well as restarting my computer, all with the same effect.
    p.p.s. i'm using a macbook pro.

    seenabeena,
Same exact thing was happening to me and was very frustrating. I was able to burn anything on from my itunes and then for whatever reason I started experiencing the same issues you are having. Don't know why it made a difference but someone here suggested using different brand of CD's. Guess the cheaper CD's are harder to read when it comes to the laser calibration. This isn't a endorsement at all but seems I've been able to burn anything again on the "imation" brand CD blanks. I hope this helps. Also, make sure you don't burn at anything higher than 8X when you start.

  • Write Back Error in  OBIEE 11.1.1.7.150120

    Hello everybody,
i have a problem with the writeback capabilities of OBIEE 11.1.1.7.150120.
After the Migration from 10g to 11g i would like to customize the write back in 11g. I go like Oracle BI Practice: OBIEE 11g Configure Writeback this, but getting an OBIEE error:
    "Write Back Error
An error occurred while writing to the server. Please check to make sure you have entered appropriate values. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator."
The table does not have any constraint. I would like to insert for example the value "2".
In my table properties i fill in "filling".
    My ...\bifoundation\OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent\coreapplication_obips1\analyticsRes\customMessages\writeback.xml looks like that:

    Thank you very much
    Best regards

    Hi Cristian,
You must use '' at script when call some column value. (use '@1' instead of @1)
Tip.. note you can use your "WebMessage Name" (from your script, like "filling", "machine_filing") into your analisys.
    Hope this help

  • Premiere Elements 11 Download - Write Disk Error

    Hello,
I purchased Adobe Premier Elements 11 from Amazon.com the day before yesterday and keep getting a Write Disk Error during the download. I have tried repeatedly to download, and to 2 different computers but have gotten this error (and 'invalid checksum' which went away after the first couple of tries; I also turned off this check in the Disk Utility). In between download attempts, I move the downloader file and the incomplete Premiere 11 folder from the desktop of my MacBook Pro to trash, dump it, and restart the computer. I was able to successfully download and install Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 on both laptops so the problem is not the internet connection or the computers. Anyone know how to fix this problem?
    Thanks!
    Roma

Nobody can know. It's most likely some indexing process/ tool or a backup like TimeMachine that all too eagerly inspects the files before they finish downloading and damges them in the process. Turn off any such stuff. You might also consider using otehr browsers. Safari is just completely awful and often damages files.

  • IPod won't sync, gives 'Delayed Write Failed' error.

I've had my iPod classic 80gb, for roughly a year now, and I never really had any permanent issues with it, until last week. I plugged it into my laptop and left it on over night. I wake up in the morning and all my songs and videos were gone. iTunes was reading the data as 'Other'. Overnight, without me doing a single thing, everything was gone. I unplugged it and plugged it back in, and all the files were gone. Completely. Space had been returned.
I painstakingly put my songs back in that afternoon. The next day, I plugged the ipod into my office computer, and tried to sync my podcasts. After syncing about 20 files, iTunes froze. Then a yellow bubble popped up saying 'Delayed Write Failed' after which it wipes out everything I was able to sync.
I've done everything, from restoring the ipod, to re-installing iTunes to formatting the disk to straight up performing a chkdsk. As i speak right now, my laptop won't boot up after i performed the last chkdsk, which told me i had a bunch of invalid sectors or some other. For one week, I've searched the net and it seems no-one has a solution to this.
Any help? I don't have an Apple store in my country, and I don't want to believe that i have to get a replacement.

    1st - Sorry I can't help you.
I also have iPod Classic 80gb and have had no trouble till two days ago (11/08). I connected my iPod and it showed up as a source in iTunes but none of my music was shown. I reconnected it and same thing, I checked for update for iPod but it said it was up to date. I then used iTunes to restore my iPod to factory settings. It went through the process and restarted but after that would never show up as a source in the iTunes window.
When I connect the iPod to my PC it detects the USB Device as an iPod right way (so it doesn't seem to be a USB Driver issue) but then the "Auto-Play" window shows up and it makes my PC slow way down and then eventually I see the "Windows Delayed Write Failed" error mesage in the task bar. If I check My Computer it shows the iPod as a drive.
I've done everything listed in Apples Support Page for this, from restoring the iPod, to re-installing iTunes, clearing temp folder and old registry files, updating iPod Service in MsConfig. I have also tried to sync the iPod with my other PC and see the same error so it seems the iPod is corrupted. I don't know anyway to restore factory settings again since it won't show up in iTunes anymore. I've searched the net and it seems no-one has a solution to this.

  • Formatting the time stamp in "Write LabVIEW Measurement File"

When I use the "Write LabVIEW Measurement File" vi to write data
the files first column contains the number of seconds since the staart of the file
How can I get the computer date and time or at least the time HH:MMS???
    Tom
PS, And how can I put some sensible label on each columns in the file?

    Tom,
The vi I'm attaching demonstrates how to use the computer system time for the timestamp on your LVM file. It takes a reading from the DAQ Assistant and applies a system time stamp. It's in version 7.1, but let me know if you need it in version 7.0.
As for inserting meaningful column headers, you won't be able to do that with the express vi, but you could use the regular file i/o vis to create a file like that is similar to a LVM file, but is a little more customizeable and can be formatted however you like. The express vi is meant to be a quick solution, but does not offer all the versatility of the vis on the palette. I hope this helps you out. Have a good one, Tom!

  • Write Permission Error Save for Web Adobe CC 2014

Upon downloading and installing the recently released CC '14 apps, I've run into a problem with Photoshop CC 2014.
When I click "save for web" in the file menu, it returns an error message of "The operation could not be completed. A write permissions error has occurred."
It seems like a standard permissions error, so I repaired disk permissions, removed plists and prefs from user library, eventually I uninstalled photoshop and reinstalled it, restarted the computer, all with no progress.
I found another forum for CS5.5 that had a similar issue - with it's resolution being a permissions change on the preferences folder itself. For kicks, I tried this - again no progress.
I need to use the save for web feature. It is not usable on my end. Let's figure this out.
    System Specs
    Late 2013 iMac 27''
    3.5GHz Intel Core i7
    32GB 1600 MHz DDR3 RAM
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4096MB
    3.11 TB Fusion Drive
    Adobe Photoshop CC (2014)
    20140508.r.58 x64

I had the same problem. And, I could not migrate settings. I found another thread about the same problem that suggested reset preferences on Photoshop launch, but that didn't work. the post also suggested to reset permissions for the library preference folder. Mine was fine.
But to fix it I had to go to the main library Preferences folder and reset permissions for the Photoshop CC 2014 Paths file and Photoshop CC 2014 Settings folder.
I am disappointed that Adobe shipped an upgrade with such a fundamental flaw. I feel I should say something disparaging and derogatory about Adobe quality control, about how as a loyal customer, using Photoshop since version 2.5 and a CC subscriber I expect better. But, I'll leave those remarks to others.

  • Using Photoshop CC I cannot save images to folder from Camera Raw as Tif. I get message 'write permission error'. I am using Widows 7 Professional.

I have just changed to Photoshop CC from CS4 and cannot now save images from Camera Raw. I get message 'write permission error'. I assume there is some permissions setting which did not exist with CS4.
I cannot progress unless I revert to CS4. What am I failing to do?

See if the suggestions, here, help, although this was back with CS6-cloud, not CC, so may not apply 100%:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4758115
I'd suggest that rather than deleting the file, you move it out of the folder to somewhere else, in case things get worse and you need to put it back.
I found this by Googling the error message.
If you can't figure it out, you might post in the "Downloading, Installing and Set Up" or "Adobe Creative Cloud" forums  since it seems to be related to the Cloud updates, and not necessarily ACR plug-in functionality, and I've seen India support people actually tackle problems posted there, which rarely happens in the ACR forum, although an ACR engineer may sometimes pop in to answer questions, they'd be less likely to know how to fix deployment issues.

  • Writer initialisation error !  has this been resolved in CS3

I can not encode a wmv from CS3 (since installing CS4) without getting the "writer initialisation error " message.
Has there been any resolution to this issue or any one know a fix.?
I do not wish to continually export an avi then create a wmv from that in Adobe Media Encoder(CS4) or MS Media Encoder.
I know that works but the workflow is time consuming ,tedious and in efficient when all I want is "quick and dirty" preview wmvs direct from the timeline as I used to be able to do.
Sidenote.  This forum setup  continues to be dire and unpleasant to use since it changed !.  Anyone having any sort of decent experience with it?  (How?)

    Thanx.Hunt
After posting this morning, I discovered another little workflow that may help someone in this situation.
The CS4 Media Encoder (standalone) will import a Sequence from a CS3 Premiere Project and export whatever...
This at least saves the intermediate "Movie" File.
Simply Add the Project to the A M Encoder and choose the sequence. (surprisingly...it works!)
I guess that will have to do meantime.
re the Forum...I have deliberately stayed away until now because of the frustration involved.  Only popping in on occassion to see if there are any signs of a CS4 update/fix/repair.  (I do not use the CS4 Premiere component at all now and wait patiently to see if they can even repair it at all)
I do not know how anyone has the patience to come here and contribute while this site is in such a state!

  • "Unable to save the raw conversion settings. There was a write permission error."

I just built a new workstation for processing photos using PS CS5. I use external drives to store my images as I find it easier for backing up as well as for when I want use my laptop for sorting, etc.. I copied over all my old "Collection" files, and of course, had to "fix" them once on the new machine. Once pointed in the right direction, the collections all fill out correctly.
When I go to process a collection though, I encounter an odd problem I can't seem to sort out. I can delete files, rename files, copy/paste to the external drives, etc.. What I can't seem to do is add Labels, Ratings, or modify RAW settings. I mean, I can use ACR to make adjustments, I just can't seem to save them.
The system just ignores label, rating commands completely. When I try to save an ACR adjustment I get this error. "Unable to save the raw conversion settings. There was a write permission error."
The files are NOT write protected. I'm set up as the owner of my workstation, with complete control of the system. I can't seem to find any useful information about this error because the "write permission error" seems to only be happening on installs, so that's all I can find help for.
    My system:
    Intel Core i7 970@ 3.20GHZ
    24.0 GB RAM
    64-bit OS - Windows 7 Pro
    DX58S02 Motherboard
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580

Thanks for replying. I've been going crazy trying to fix this.
To answer your first question; I use sidecar XMP files. If everything from my archive was shot in RAW I'd try converting to DNG and see if embedding the changes directly in a file worked. Unfortunately, a lot of my old stuff was shot in JPG, so sidecars seems to be the best choice.
When I add labels, ratings, as well as change RAW settings on files I place on my workstations HD everything works. It's only when I try to do these things with the same files on removable drives that I run into trouble. The drives I use are Transcend 640GB StoreJet 25ms connected via USB.
I don't think it's a UAC problem. At least, to my understanding, doesn't that control how your machine alerts you to program changes? I looked into how to change ownership, and did so, but that didn't work. Here's a link to what I mean: http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/windows-7-access-denied-permission-ownership/
I'm stumped. I also hate the idea that I'll have to go through various folders to find images from already created collections, copy them to a new folder on my HD and then work on them. Then I'll have to put them all back... ugghhhh

  • PS CS5 Write Acess Error saving to a windows 2008 server share

    Hi Everyone,
Our macs are running Snow Leopard 10.6.7 and we save/open files on a Windows 2008 Server via SMB,
this particular problem, seems to be happening only with Photoshop:
Sometime, when we try to save an image, photoshop returns a write access error
at that time, if you go to the finder and take a look at the folder, the file had simply vanished.
If you close the image, all lost.
Everything is fine with Indesign and illustrator.
Any help would be much appreciated!!
Thank you all very much in advance.
    William

    Thanks for the reply Chris,
I am trying to look for a solution on the Mac OS side, this problem happens from time to time.
People keep trying to use Active Directory and log macs on it, it's always a problem.
And to make things worse, apple changes the way Mac OS handles network tasks,
they did it with 10.5 and 10.6. Well, we have to deal with that, right?
    Thanks again
    All the best
