Its something to do with certain consoles. I bought my disk round my friends house because we wanted to play it together but he didn't get it until later on. My disk was fine on his playstation, ran fine with no lag, online and kick off. As soon as I bought it home and put it in, the game started being slow. Had the same problem with the demo but there was no online on that so it wasn't a problem playing on the internet. Weekend = Ruined (unless there is a quick fix where I can play online) This is on playstation 4.

  • MacBook Pro running slow and lagging during app switches/start

I mean, it's really getting bad. I have to force quit repeatedly and then by some miracle - something takes and the program opens. Most of the time this happens with Photoshop and Firefox (which is what I use most often). PS does not have a bunch of add-ons running or installed. It's pretty much CS3 factory.
I ran Disk Utility yesterday - during the verify disc, it told me to boot from the install disc to fix the 2 errors it found. I backed everything up and I did. Ran all the verifies and repairs from the start disc.
Still running slow and by this I mean when I open an application it takes a ridiculously long time to open the double-clicked document or just the program itself to get to a new doc. I noticed it again this morning with Excel (which is something I don't usually leave open and running).
What else I have done, which helped but just a smidgen ... was to remove all the extra fonts (and I did have thousands) in Font Book. I also removed Font Book entirely because it was another program that was locking up and needing force quit all the time ... and I just plain don't like it. So I installed Suitcase Fusion and only have the bare minimum needed in there (which kind of bothers me since I am used to have thousands on hand that just need to be turned on or off - yes I know, I keep them all off unless they are absolutely needed). But I only have one set in the Suitcase (42 font family).
I got my laptop in Feb ... so this painfully slow and lagging stuff shouldn't be happening. It used to work great. I could have all the apps open, flipping between them, really getting things done.
    Here's my comp info:
    Version 10.6.4
Processor: 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Memory: 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
    HD: 500gb but I have 345gb free
Any obvious things I am overlooking? Any suggestions on how to get this fairly new thing back up to speed?
    Thanks!

    HI,

  • Macbook Pro still running slow after reformat

So my Macbook pro, which is about 3-4 years old now, just started running slow after the latest update i did, whichever the latest one was. Possibly a security update or whatever it was. So i decided it was time to reformat and just clear out the stuff on my computer so i erased the HD and reinstalled Snow Leopard. After all that it still lags and is slow. Its slow on things like scrolling down a web page, or opening programs, or when i use expose, it isn't super smooth like it normally is.
My MBP has 4gb of ram and 2.2ghz. I have also tried to repair the disk permissions, but didnt seem to help drastically. Any suggestions?

    Hi there,
Have you applied all updates? Using Software Update or manually? Checked for EFI and SMC versions?
Don't you have any clue from Console logs?
Repair as T posted and bring back news and info about your Graphic Card.
    Good luck.

  • Macbook Pro 2010 Running Slow and Pulse/Click Noise (Not Hard Drive)

Hello. My 13" Macbook Pro mid-2010 (7,1) suddenly began running slow and lagging on certain operations. There is also a light pulse/click noise coming from the center of the keyboard. I am sure this is not a failing hard drive. How, you may ask me, am I so sure??? Well, I originally thought it was a failing hard drive and so replaced the hard drive, and there was absolutely no change, and the lagging and noise still continues. This makes it very frustrating to do basic, low-memory-intensive things like browse on Safari or watch a movie.
I have upgraded to Mavericks, and have 8gb Ram. This problem started suddenly about a month after upgrading to Mavericks. In fact right now my computer is lagging just typing this, Activity Monitor says I am only using 2.75 ram of 8gb.
Steps I have taken with no resolution
    -Replaced the hard drive
    -Reinstalled OSX Mavericks
-Verified and Repaired Permissions (I still get a message the the following item can't be repaired "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent". But I have read that this is a common thing and can be ignored.
-Restarted the computer holding down left shift-option-control and the power key for 10 seconds (not sure exactly what this resets, but some type of system cache thing.
-Reset the PVRAM stuff ( I restarted the computer holding down command-p-r. I'm not sure I did this correctly as it went to the firmware disk repair screen.
Could there be a RAM issue? Does RAM start making noise when it goes bad? I bought my upgraded ram from ebay, it isn't the official Apple Store stuff. Could replacing the ram possibly help? My System Report tells me the RAM is OK.
Putting a message on here for help is the last step before giving up. I can't do much with this computer because it is hiccupy and overall difficult.
    Thanks.

  • My Macbook Air is running slow with Yosemite.

My Macbook Air is running slow with Yosemite.
I checked out most of the blogs and everything and have removed widgets from the notification center, but everything seems to run kinda slowly.
Sure, i have the base model 2014 macbook air but that 4 gb ram should run a freakin finder just fine. I had Mavericks installed before, and with that, i could do everything. I even made cool music in GarageBand and nothing was lagging for me. Now i installed Yosemite... Everything is lagging. Scrolling seems like it happens around 10 FPS. That aint good man. Memory cleaner says around 1gb ram free when only the finder is running in the background (before it did around 2). I just uninstalled Memory Cleaner o I'm not looking at that little amount of memory. I don't know what to do now? I would appreciate it, if someone would help me. Otherwise, ill just wait for a new update.

Since it's new I would take it back for repair or exchange under your warranty before bothering to read further.
Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
    1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
        b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    4. Reinstall Yosemite: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall OS X from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.
    5. Reinstall Yosemite from Scratch:
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
How to Clean Install OS X Yosemite
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Older but upgraded MBP running slow... no obvious cause.

Hello all and thanks in advance for anything you have to share.
My mid-2007 15" MBP has gotten slow in basic finder functions and opening/switching/closing programs with no obvious bottleneck.  I use Activity Monitor regularly, and there is often a very low CPU load, never any RAM pressure (which I find suspicious, but I do have 6 GB installed), and I'm not running any particularly high demand software (usually Safari with a few tabs open, mail, Word or maybe Excel).
I'm considering doing a clean install of Yosemite (currently running Mav), but I wish I knew if there were anything else causing a particular bottleneck at the moment.  If you can tell me exactly what/why I'm running slow (i.e. some hardware issue that will force me to upgrade), that's fine, I just want to know what it is.  Even as I'm typing these letters, I'm typing 2 or 3 words faster than the text appears on the screen, yet the CPU is running around 20% and RAM indicates 3.6 out of 6 GB used.
System profile below from EtreCheck.  Thanks in advance for any help!
    Problem description:
General slowness and lag opening programs, switching windows/programs, etc.  Not related to download speeds.  No obvious cause, processor usage and memory pressure (RAM) both appear fine/low most of the time, yet computer is just slow.

  • Premiere Pro CC running slow on my new Mac Pro

I just upgraded my system to the new Mac Pro(Darth Vader Helmet) and its running slower then my 5 year old tower!? Ill take 15-20 seconds to save a project(small project). The playback is still a bit jerky. Overall it just seems to be lagging a bit.
    Here are my comp specs:
    OS 10.9.2
    3GHZ 8-Core Intel eon 5
    64 GB 1867 MHz DDR2
Does anyone have any idea why Premiere isnt blazing!?
    Thanks
    R

Thanks, Jason, that's what I was wondering about.  Generally, people post to forums when they have problems.
Yep.  That's usually what happens.  My review will be centered around my usual "benchmark" of editing 2 AVCHD inputs, one PiP'd into the other, synced with an external audio source, and then exported to an h.264 MP4.  CC on my current Mac Pro (modified dual 3.46Ghz Xeon, 48G, nVidia GTX570) takes that task about 1/2t, if t = length of video.  Which is pretty damned good.  I'm hoping the dual GPUs will help scale that export task down a bit more.  I don't expect it to hit 1/4t, but.. hey, maybe I'll be surprised?
I make about 60% of my living from Pr, and the rest from Ae and other apps (mostly Adobe).
Given the lack of CUDA, at the moment, I don't expect the new Mac Pro to be a stellar performer with Ae specifically.  I assume that Adobe is working on OpenCL'ing Ae as much as they possibly can.  But from what I understand, it ain't there yet.
(I'd need a TB monitor and PCI extender, too).
I can understand the need for the PCI extender, but why the TB monitor?  I'd in no way even remotely consider one of those, just given how ridiculously priced they are.  There's no need for one.  Does your display have a DP input?  You're all set.  No?  It has HDMI instead?  Still all set.  It's dual-linked DVI that becomes problematic.

  • MacPro running slow, takes forever for anything to load, HELP!!!

Downloaded Maverick and my MacBook Pro has been running slow, lagging, often times it will
Not even load app or web page, if it does it takes a very long time.  Please advise

    Bimmer330,
when a new version of OS X is installed, Spotlight will spend time reïndexing the internal hard drive, because so many files changed between the old version of OS X and the new version. How long have you had Mavericks installed on your MacBook Pro?
Before you upgraded to Mavericks, did you ensure that all of your installed third-party apps are compatible with Mavericks? It might be the case that such an app that runs in the background does not work well with Mavericks, and could require updating itself to work well under Mavericks.
If you haven’t done so already, download and install EtreCheck. Please include in your reply the output from a run of EtreCheck.

  • Macbook Pro running slow? Cuz of heat?

Yes my MBpro is running slow and is really laggy. Coule this be due to excessive heat? My CPU temp is averaging about 170 F and that is with WOW running, which is a computer game. How can I solve this problem? Any ideas? Or is there something else going on there besides temperature issues.

Yes I have tried doing that, but it still does not seem to work. What happens is, when I first use my computer after letting it sit at night, It will work fine and run smoothly, but after using it for about and hour or so, it starts to lag. It runs slow and its really laggy and glitchy alot. Doesnt run smoothly. I am thinking I may have to send it into apple and see if they can fix it. I dont know what else to really do at this point. It never used to run like this. It always ran smoothly but not anymore.

  • My ITouch seems to be running slow.  All apps are closed.  Any suggestions

My Itouch is running slow, even with all Apps closed.  Any suggestions why?

iOS 5 brang alot of lag to the iPod

  • Iphone 4s runs slower on ios7

Has anyone else noticed or felt their phone (4S in my case) runs slower than before and all because of downloading ios7?
If so, it seems a rum deal that a OS update should cause a product in good condition and cherished to be made less effective than before.
Sir Jonathan Ive should have thought that one through.......

My 4S ran great on iOS7.
I had some WIFI lag and poor range, but reset the network settings and all was good.

  • Everything's running slow

My MacBook Pro is running slow.....it starts up a little slow, but the real problem is starting up applications, closing apps, surfing the net, etc.
In Safari, I've reset it, cleaned up history, cache, cookies, etc but it's still running slow. Sometimes it doesn't even connect to my WiFi. I have to turn it off and restart.
If I have iMail or iPhoto open, opening any other app is brutal. It lags.
Everyday, the pinwheel spins without conclusion so I usually Force Quit a lot. This can happen 3-4 times per day regardless of the app I'm working on (Excel, Word, Type Pad, Safari, iTunes, anything!).
In a nutshell, I think I need some sort of monitoring/cleaning software (maybe a virus??). But Google is just unhelpful with it's 3.6 Billion recommendations.
Can you recommend the Gold/Apple Standard? I don't mind buying the software if necessary. I just want my beloved MacBook Pro to function like it did when I first bought it. Needless to say, if you think my problem is something else, I'm all ears. I have no idea what else it could be so if you could help a newbie out, that would be great. :-)
    Thank you.

Try cleaning out your start up items.
Apple Menu > System Preferences > Accounts > Login Items
select the item you wish to remove (click on its name and then hit the "minus" button at the bottom of the list.)
Turn off Universal Access, Bluetooth, Speech Recognition, and Internet Sharing if you don't use them
Apple Menu > System Preferences > Universal Access/Bluetooth/ Speech Recognition
This will save you some valuable RAM and processor resources.
    Turn off the Dashboard
    Open the 'Terminal' Application.
    To turn Dashboard off:
defaults write com.apple.dashboard mcx-disabled -boolean YES
    To turn Dashboard on:
defaults write com.apple.dashboard mcx-disabled -boolean NO
You have to restart the Dock after making either change for it to take effect:
    killall Dock
The Dashboard uses RAM to refresh widgets etc. By disabling it, the RAM used to update Dashboard can be used on Applications.
    Clean you Hard Drive
Mac OS X  uses the free space on your hard drive as "virtual memory", and it depends heavily on that virtual memory to run efficiently. If you're Mac feels sluggish, it may be because your drive is too full.
Erasing useless files (Reset Safari, Empty Trash, Erase Documents/Files you no longer use)
Yes, there are many applications out there to do this for you.
I use CleanMyMac. Many people say that cleaning Applications are bad for you mac, but I disagree.
Clean My Mac has erased 20.48 GB of files that I do not need. Caches, History etc.
All of the above have worked for me.
    Good Luck

  • My sister's MacBook white is running slow lately

My older sister got her laptop back in 2012, and its ran like a champ since then, i even updated it from OS X 10.6.8 to OS X 10.7.5 and it ran even better!
but lately, it's started to lag when doing normal tasks, like running basic safari applications, loading and shutting down programs, and even minecraft runs slow even though it ran at maximum graphics settings perfectly! the computer's free storage is 70.61 GB out of 189 GB while the BOOTCAMP has 60.18 out of 60.18
free space. i thought it might just be that my sister is a computer slob, and has 36 files sitting right on the desktop! and from being a Windows user, i know that spamming your desktop with icons gives your exlorer.exe (or in this case, Finder) a back ache. I'm baffled here, haven't used Macintosh OSes for longer than 3 years, but i've used windows for 12 years (i'm 18) and currently i'm taking IT classes, so i should know a thing or two, but i'm stumped : /
    some info:

Processor: 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 320M 256 MB
    Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)
i've seen some questions vaguely similar to mine along the lines of 'started running slow' that employed the use of Etrecheck, so i'll post the scan results here:
