Figuring out local JNDI names with WSAD

I have a cmp bean, with JNDI name "ejb/ebmusic2/AlbumLocalHome".
when i try to look it up from another bean it fails. i also tried to add
the prefix "java:comp/env" as i saw being done in IBM redbook in a
similar circumstances, and yet the JNDI client fails to discover everything
that is after the "java" prefix.
any thoughts ? thanks for your help.

try "local:ejb/ejb/"
so your code could say:
private String JNDI_LOCAL_PREFIX = "local:ejb/ejb/";

  • Could take the same JNDI-names for both tags: jndi-name and local-jndi-name

    Hello!
    I try to design the weblogic-ejb-jar.xml descriptor and I ask myself, if I could
    take the same JNDI-names for both tags:
    <jndi-name> and <local-jndi-name> ?
    Could you give me and advice if this is ok?
    Thanks

    if you have two separate interfaces, you cant bind them to the same jndi
    name. you will have a local home that extends EJBLocalHome and a remote
    home called EJBHome. also you need to know which one you are looking up
    so you can cast it properly, and use it property (remote interfaces need
    PortableRemoteObject, remote parameters are passed by value, ...)

    Had me stumped for a while too ...
    On the screen that presents all your "Blank" documents, simply touch the word "Blank" under the preview (not the actual preview) and you'll get a dialogue to name your document.

  • I can't figure out what's wrong with this code

    First i want this program to allow me to enter a number with the EasyReader class and depending on the number entered it will show that specific line of this peom:
    One two buckle your shoe
    Three four shut the door
    Five six pick up sticks
    Seven eight lay them straight
    Nine ten this is the end.
    The error message i got was an illegal start of expression. I can't figure out why it is giving me this error because i have if (n = 1) || (n = 2) statements. My code is:
    public class PoemSeventeen
    public static void main(String[] args)
    EasyReader console = new EasyReader();
    System.out.println("Enter a number for the poem (0 to quit): ");
    int n = console.readInt();
    if (n = 1) || (n = 2)
    System.out.println("One, two, buckle your shoe");
    else if (n = 3) || (n = 4)
    System.out.println("Three, four, shut the door");
    else if (n = 5) || (n = 6)
    System.out.println("Five, six, pick up sticks");
    else if (n = 7) || (n = 8)
    System.out.println("Seven, eight, lay them straight");
    else if (n = 9) || (n = 10)
    System.out.println("Nine, ten, this is the end");
    else if (n = 0)
    System.out.println("You may exit now");
    else
    System.out.println("Put in a number between 0 and 10");
    I messed around with a few other thing because i had some weird errors before but now i have narrowed it down to just this 1 error.

  • Can't figure out what is wrong with recovery DVDs

    Last year, right after turning my laptop ON, I've created 4 DVDs as such: http://i56.tinypic.com/6i79rn.jpg
    Recovery DVD Disk 1
    Recovery DVD Disk 2
    Recovery DVD Disk 3
    Windows Recovery Environment 64-bit
    My Laptop is Qosmio F60-14R, with Windows 7 Home Premium.
    Now all I want to do is format my laptop and re-install windows 7 Home premium using those 4 DVDs. However I can't figure out why I cannot re-install or get the laptop back to the factory state.
    This have wasted 8 hours straight of my time and frustrated me by great deal. Can you kindly tell me what I have to do? I am lost!

    Here is what I have done so far:
    I inserted 'Windows Recovery Environment (64-bit)' DVD and booted the laptop from it.
    First thing that loads up is a window with two options:
    - Toshiba Recovery Wizard
    - System Recovery Options
    Taking Toshiba Recovery Wizard as choice, clicking Next.
    It asks me: "Please set 1st Recovery Media and press Next to Continue.
    So, I insert Recovery DVD 1 and then click Next. However it ejects the disc drive (seems Recovery DVD 1 is not the correct Disk!).
    So I repeat the same process with Recovery DVD 2 and Recovery DVD 3 and again the Disk Drive ejects the Disks.... As a desperation attempt I even put the Windows Recovery Environment Disk inside but that as well get ejected.
    Okay, so the Toshiba Recovery Wizard is not the right choice 'it seems'.
    So, I restart the laptop and inserted 'Windows Recovery Environment (64-bit)' DVD and booted the laptop from it.
    First thing that loads up is a window with two options: (First choice failed, now trying second choice)
    - --Toshiba Recovery Wizard--
    - System Recovery Options
    So, choosing System Recovery Options this time and clicking Next. I Choose US as Keyboard, then click Next. A small window appears which gives me two further options:
    - Use Recovery tools that can help fix problems starting Windows. Select an Operating System to repair.
    - Restore your computer using a system image that you created earlier.
    So, I already tried the first choice and it takes me to another window with several recovery tools. One of the tools is System Image Recovery but when I click it, it gives a Warning messagebox that says:
    Windows cannot find a system image on this computer. etc.
    But when I insert every disk, still the warning messagebox shows up as if all the four recovery DVDs are irrelevant.
    So, it seems the first choice doesn't lead me anywhere. So, remains the second choice:
    - Restore your computer using a system image that you created earlier.
    Turns out it is exactly the same 'System Image Recovery' from first option mentioned few lines earlier. So, there you have it, checkmate.
    Please guide.

  • Weblogic 10.3 - changing jndi-name with deployment plan fails

    I was trying to alter the global jndi name of a stateless ejb by using a deployment plan, but can't get it to work.
    - to be able to replace it later on with a deployment plan, I specify a jndi-name in weblogic-ejb-jar.xml (so I do not use the @mappedName)
    e.g.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <weblogic-ejb-jar xmlns="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/10.0" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/10.0 http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/10.0/weblogic-ejb-jar.xsd">
         <weblogic-enterprise-bean>
              <ejb-name>ExampleService</ejb-name>
              <enable-call-by-reference>true</enable-call-by-reference>
              <stateless-session-descriptor>
                   <business-interface-jndi-name-map>
                        <business-remote>com.example.ExampleServiceRemote</business-remote>
                        <jndi-name>com.example.ExampleService#com.example.ExampleServiceRemote</jndi-name>
                   </business-interface-jndi-name-map>
              </stateless-session-descriptor>
         </weblogic-enterprise-bean>
    </weblogic-ejb-jar>
    - during deployment I specify a deploymentPlan with following content:
    <variable-definition>
    <variable>
    <name>ejb_jndiname_ExampleService</name>
    <value>ExampleService</value>
    </variable>
    </variable-definition>
    <module-override>
    <module-name>ExampleService.jar</module-name>
    <module-type>ejb</module-type>
    <module-descriptor external="true">
    <root-element>weblogic-ejb-jar</root-element>
    <uri>meta-inf/weblogic-ejb-jar.xml</uri>
    <variable-assignment>
    <name>ejb_jndiname_ExampleService</name>
    <xpath>/weblogic-ejb-jar/weblogic-enterprise-bean/\[ejb-name="ExampleService"\]/stateless-session-descriptor/business-interface-jndi-name-map/\[business-remote="com.example.ExampleServiceRemote"\]/jndi-name</xpath>
    <operation>replace</operation>
    </variable-assignment>
    </module-descriptor>
    </module-override>
    - after deployment, the original jndi-name ("com.example.ExampleService#com.example.ExampleServiceRemote") is active in the jndi tree instead of "ExampleService"
    p.s. When I specified the jndi-name in weblogic-ejb.jar.xml as
         <weblogic-enterprise-bean>
              <ejb-name>ExampleService</ejb-name>
              <enable-call-by-reference>true</enable-call-by-reference>
              <jndi-name>com.example.ExampleService#com.example.ExampleServiceRemote</jndi-name>
         </weblogic-enterprise-bean>
    and the replace in the deployment plan as
    <variable-assignment>
    <name>ejb_jndiname_SecurityService</name>
    <xpath>/weblogic-ejb-jar/weblogic-enterprise-bean/\[ejb-name="ExampleService"\]/jndi-name</xpath>
    <operation>replace</operation>
    </variable-assignment>
    the replacement does work (checked by verifying the jndi-name within the deployed ear using the console), but the problem then is that the jndi-name does not appear in the jndi tree (that's why I tried the <business-interface-jndi-name-map>)
    Any ideas?
    Kind regards,
    Ben
    Edited by: user11230128 on 4-jun-2009 7:42

    After a Service Request and some trial and error, I got it to work after adding the following part in each 'jar module override' section of the deployment plan:
    <module-descriptor external="false">
    <root-element>ejb-jar</root-element>
    <uri>META-INF/ejb-jar.xml</uri>
    </module-descriptor>
    Apparantly this is needed even though there is no ejb-jar.xml in the jar.
    So the deployment plan has to be something like:
    <variable-definition>
    <variable>
    <name>ejb_jndiname_ExampleService</name>
    <value>ExampleService</value>
    </variable>
    </variable-definition>
    <module-override>
    <module-name>ExampleService.jar</module-name>
    <module-type>ejb</module-type>
    <module-descriptor external="false">
    <root-element>weblogic-ejb-jar</root-element>
    <uri>meta-inf/weblogic-ejb-jar.xml</uri>
    <variable-assignment>
    <name>ejb_jndiname_ExampleService</name>
    <xpath>/weblogic-ejb-jar/weblogic-enterprise-bean/[ejb-name="ExampleService"]/stateless-session-descriptor/business-interface-jndi-name-map/[business-remote="com.example.ExampleServiceRemote"]/jndi-name</xpath>
    <operation>replace</operation>
    </variable-assignment>
    </module-descriptor>
    <module-descriptor external="false">
    <root-element>ejb-jar</root-element>
    <uri>META-INF/ejb-jar.xml</uri>
    </module-descriptor>
    </module-override>

    I have a mid 2012 Macbook Pro with OS X Mavericks on it and for the past few weeks it has running VERY SLOW! I have no idea what is wrong with it, i have read other discussion forums trying to figure it out on my own. So far i have had no luck in fixing the slowness. When i open applications the icon will bounce in dock forever before opening and then my computer will freeze with the little rainbow wheel circling and circling for a few minutes... and if i try to browse websites it take forever for them to load or youtube will just stop working for me. Everything i do, no matter what i click, the rainbow wheel will pop up! The only thing i can think of messing it up was a friend of mine plugging in a flash drive a few weeks ago to take some videos and imovie to put on his Macbook Pro, he has said his laptop has been running fine though... so idk if that was the problem. Anyways, could someone please help me try something? Thank you!!

  • When I boot up my Mac, Messages opens automatically. I quit the app, but it just re-opens itself. It won't stay off!!! I can't figure out what's wrong with it!

    For the past few months, my Mac has been acting weird. EVERY time I boot up the computer, Messages opens automaticallly (I am runing OS X 10.8.x). I quit the app, but it just re-opens a few seconds later! It just won't stay off! I've looked it up online and nothing helps. I have no idea what to do!!!

    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
    Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. For instructions, launch the System Preferences application, select Help from the menu bar, and enter “Set up guest users” (without the quotes) in the search box. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
    While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
    Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
    After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
    *Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
    The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
    Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
    When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
    If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
    Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.  The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    *Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode.
    Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
    After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2.

  • Unable to figure out how to connect with another S...

    First off, my Skype number keeps saying invalid. I have credit. Second, my profile reads my flour number is not active. I had this one originally #########. Yesterday I attempted to change it or add a new one #######. I was never given any type of confirmation as to whether my Skype number changed to the latter number 732... Or not. I can use either one it's just when the original wasn't working I thought I should try to change. I NEED TO CONNECT WITH SOMEONE IN THE UK who is also having difficulty on his end. His number he created to speak with me here is #######. His Skype name is xxxxx8 I am pending request to link to him. But why are my numbers telling me they're invalid? MUST I HAVE WIFI TO CONNECT? I do not of that's the case. My email is [email protected]
    * mod edit: please do not post private information/email/ID *

    Only photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view.
    Photos that were synced from your computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from on your computer and then re-syncing.

  • HT1695 I have just returned from a trip and cannot figure out how to reconnect with my home Wi Fi, which is functioning fine on my desktop.

    I am unable to connect my iPad to the internet following a trip.  My home WiFi is working on my desktop, so I know I should be able to connect.  I'm a cyber-nincompoop and can't figure it out...please help!

    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
    3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
        •    Launch Settings app
        •    Tap on Wi-Fi
        •    Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list
        •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

    Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
