Open the Time Machine pane in System Preferences. If it shows that Time Machine is ON, click the padlock icon in the lower left corner, if necessary, to unlock it. Scroll to the bottom of the list of backup drives and click Add or Remove Backup Disk. Remove all the disks, then add them back. Quit System Preferences. Test.

I had the same problem, when switching over to iTunes 11. I downloaded the software through Apple Software Update, and when I tried opening the software, it popped up with an error message. The support forums suggest a complete uninstaall/reinstall, which I did. iTunes 11 now works without a single problem. Fair warning, tho: Back up all files pertaining to iTunes (music, videos, etc.) BEFORE uninstalling.

does anyone know how to fix this? when the window pops up, it says:
''Apple Mobile Device Helper has stopped working.
windows can check online for a soloution to the problem.
->check online for a solution and close the program
    -> close the program''
but i've pressed both and each time this window keeps popping up every 30 seconds, whether i've closed the previous one or not.
i do not even use the mobile device helper so it will not affect me if it works or not.
someone please tell me how to fix this!!
    thank you.

In XP, I uninstalled AppleMobile Device helper using Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.
In Vista it will be similar, just uninstall it.
You need this program if you have an iTouch or iPhone, so don't delete it if you have that kind of iPod.

  • Java Script Error Keeps Popping Up

I haven't had this trouble before. Now when I enter
Contribute, an eror messsage comes up-- "While executing Dynamic
Content, the following JavaScript Error(s) occurred: At line 105 of
    file... Can't find file c:\program
    files\macromedia\contribute\configuration\shared\mm\cache\empty.htm."
and "At line 105 of file c:\program
    files\macromedia\contribute\configuration\toolbars\mm\ccaddrressURL.htm
    GetDocumentDOM:Arguement number 1 is invalid"
This or a variation of it pops up every time I hit ok and I

seem to locate the original install folder- doesn't seem to be
there anymore, just the program. Any ideas appreciated! Thanks,

    Hi,
Re-installing Contribute should fix the problem.
It seems there is a problem with the configuration file of
    Contribute.

  • I can't download anything as it keeps telling me my start up disk is full.  I have deleted loads of files and it still keeps popping up with the same messge??

Please help - I am not too computer savvi and my computer keeps telling me my start up disk is full.  I have purchased a passport and transferred loads of images and files onto that and then deleted them from my computer but the message is still the same and I can't download anything.

How big is your hard drive, and how much space is used/free?
To find out, click once on the hard drive icon on your desktop to highlight it (it will be called Macintosh HD unless you renamed it). Click the command and I keys on your keyboard to open the information window. In "General", you will see Capacity and Available. What are those figures?
If you have a little bit of space left, I recommend that you install Omnidisksweeper (it's free) to tell you what folders are using up the most room.
Be careful when you transfer files - only move files that you know are yours. Don't move or delete any system files unless you're specifically recommended to do so (some files are safe to delete; some are not).

  • "Connection failed" error keeps popping up

I've recently set up a new home network. I keep getting the following error, which is my computer trying to connect to an IP address from my former network (an external hard drive that was set up as a shared server):
    Connection failed
The server "192.168.1.66" may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again.
The only button option is "OK." Since this IP address is no longer valid and never will be again, how can I make this error go away?
    Message was edited by: jjkatz

I think I figured it out. I went into System Preferences\Accounts and checked to see what was loading when I log in. I removed two items related to the external drive software (which never really worked well with the Mac OS anyway) and rebooted. I haven't seen the error since.
