File Adapter Getting Stopped

Hi All,
File Adapter (Sender,FTP) polling is geting stopped automatically.
This happens after 10-12hrs.
Can anyone help.
Thanks in Advance.
Chemmanz

Hi,
Is there any possibility that FTP adapter will automatically stop polling, if no file is available in the FTP site for a very long time ?
In my case the polling interval is 10sec.

  • File Adapter gets error while deleting the file

    Hi,
    We are running on PI 7.0 SP6. I built a simple integration scenario where a file is picked up from a certain directory on the server (PI server itself) and get processed according to some mapping rules and again put to an other directory. I used the file adapter for picking and putting the file with 2 different communication channels.
    My integration works fine. File is picked up processed and put into its new location.
    But the file adapter cannot work in archiving or deletion mode. So the file (to be picked up by PI) remains in its original location.
    I am getting the following error:

    Hi,
    These are a few things you can do:
    Check the permissions of the folder where the file is being Placed. (it will mostly have only read permission, this is what i could understand from your explanation)
    If you are doing Content conversion, please can you just remove it and see if the XML file is getting generated.
    Also, please check if it's picked up by any other application when you place it on the server.

  • File adapter polling stops after reboot of third party system

    Hi,
    We noticed that whenever we reboot our third party system, XI File Adapter is losing it's connection to that third party system and polling stops. As a result File Adapter is not processing any files from that particular server.
    To fix this problem, we either reboot XI Server or refresh communication channel (Go to change mode and save it).
    File adapter is configured to  use FTP  to transfer the files between Windows Server and Unix Server.
    Is there a better way to fix this problem?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Make the connect mode as PER FILE TRANSFER in the file adapter.
    <i>Connect Mode
    Permanently
    An existing connection to the FTP server is used permanently.
    The connection is reestablished automatically if it is closed by the server.
    Per File Transfer
    A new connection to the FTP server is established for each file transfer.</i>

  • CONFIGURE FILE ADAPTER ,get files one by one.

    HI,  I have cinfigure one system of FILE ADAPTER TO JDBC ADAPTER, is working OK, but I need to Know  how configure The FIle adapter to get files one by one from the folder , I have the channel configure between 30 seconds, but when come to look for the files has them all ... I need to get one by one the files.
    Help me... RGRDS.

    Hi ,
             What is the operating system of your PI server sytem? If its unix/linux you can achieve this using shell scripts, for windows systems you need batch files. The script/batch file would run in background continuously. It will check how many files are present in a directory (say xyz) . Then one by one transfer the files to directory(say abc)  from where PI picks up files at regular interval. you need to use "sleep()" command in script so that the script puts files after some time interval say 90 seconds. The polling interval of comm channel in PI should be set less than sleep time interval of the script.In file sender adpater configuration please set the Processing Parameters -> Processing Mode-> Delete/archive. The script before putting a file in "abc " checks presence of any files. If there are some files it goes to sleep mode for few seconds and continues checking unless "abc" is empty. Then the script moves(as we do cut and paste in windows) file in "abc" directory.

  • File adapter (sender) module throws exception, but adapter proceeds again

    Hello dear reader,
    I wrote a module that converts a flat file into XI-XML and tested it within the file adapter. It works fine so far. But if I force the module to throw an exception to handle an erroneous flat file, the file adapter tries to proceed the erroneous file again and again. Not very nice, isn´t it?
    Has anybody an idea, how to configure the file adapter to stop the processing of an erroneous file?
    Thank you in advance

    It seems to me that the Adapter gets the error of the module, but it is not handled as an error like shown in the blog <a href="/people/sap.user72/blog/2005/11/29/xi-how-to-re-process-failed-xi-messages-automatically:///people/sap.user72/blog/2005/11/29/xi-how-to-re-process-failed-xi-messages-automatically.
    The adapter tries to proceed the same file again and again, till I delete it from the source directory.
    Any more idea?

    Thanks harald

    Hi Prasad,
    sorry - but I can't understand what you mean.
    The file-adapter I'm talking about runs on a fileserver. This adapter read the files and send them to the XI-System where a java-mapping is running.
    Therefore I can't believe that the problem is the mapping.
    The way I see it is that the error must be in a part of the file-read-process because the exception says
    <b><u>[fileprocessor]</u> Error: Unexpected exception running file2xmbprocessor
    java.util.NoSuchElementException
    at java.util.TreeMap$EntryIterator.nextEntry </b>
    Could you please explain what you mean.
    Thanks and best regards

  • File Adapter: 2 output files

    Hello,
    we have to implement the following scenario:
    1. File Adapter gets 1 input file ('FileXXX').
    2. A File Adapter Module creates 2 different outputs from the input file
    3. The outputs must be saved in separate files with the names 'FileXXX' and 'FileXXX.par'. The order of file creating is important, e.g. FileXXX must be created first in every case.
    How to achieve this? I read the documentation for Content Conversion, but it seems not to be the right way.

  • File Adapter going into infinite mode while polling for the file

    Hi,
    I am facing an issue while the file adapter is reading the data from the file.
    If the file from which it is reading has been deleted it keeps on polling for it infinite number of times and also doesn't pops out with any error message. Is there any method that after polling for some time period we can pop out a message that the particular file is not available and then the file adapter should stop polling for the file.Anyone has some ideas about this. Any pointers will be of great help.
    Thanks

    Hi soachd,
    As far as I understand polling is infinite process. You need to adopt this strategy if you are expecting some thing to happen all the time or may be when you want to be ready when ever an expected event happens. This provides a real time solution but with the downside of infinite execution.
    Hope it helps.

  • File adapter causes FTP process stop result 0 byte file.

    Has anyone ever heard that FTP adapter can cause FTP process to stop and end up with 0 byte file transferred?
    We use the normal ftp script to ftp file from external file server place file in XI inbound folder so that file adapter can pick them up from that folder.
    We have encounter a few 0 byte FTPed file in our system. One suspecting is the network between XI server and file server might get some interruption. With out just blaming on the network. We would like to know if there is any possibility that it is also causes by our file adapter? Says, it try to read the file that is not yet complete transferring make FTP give up transferring??
    We would like to know if FTP process is transferring the file over and file adapter try to read, what will happen? Will it read file with incomplete content and ftp still go on? Or will it stop reading and return back error as the file could not be open? Or it will force FTP process to let go the file??
    Best rgds,
    Thida

    Hi,
    ><i>We would like to know if there is any possibility that it is also causes by our file adapter? Says, it try to read the file that is not yet complete transferring make FTP give up transferring??</i>
    have not seen the file adapter causing any such problems. So, it looks like a network issue.
    ><i>We would like to know if FTP process is transferring the file over and file adapter try to read, what will happen? Will it read file with incomplete content and ftp still go on? Or will it stop reading and return back error as the file could not be open? Or it will force FTP process to let go the file??</i>
    Am not exactly sure, but when a file is being created and the file adapter tries to read such a file, the file would be READ and WRITE Locked and so File adapter should not be able to read such a file until the creation of the file is complete.
    Also, take a look at the note :  <b>821267</b> , question 31 for how file adapter processes empty file.

  • Extra Blank Line gets added at the Beginning of the file by File Adapter...

    Hello All,
    I have created an RFC to File Adapter scenario in PI 7,1 and I am using Content Conversion in the File Adapter to convert the payload structure to flat text file. The input Structure is simple as follows:
    <File>
    <FName>some file name</Fname>
    <Record>
      <Data>
          <Line>Text Lines</Line>
    </Date>
    </Record>
    </File>
    while using the following Content Conversion Parameters: While I have defined "Record" as Structure.
    Record.addHeaderLine   = 0
    Record.fieldSeparator      = 'nl'
    Record.endSeparator      = 'nl'
    Here everything is working fine except that the text file getting generated has a blank line at the beginning. I was thinking that by adding "Record.addHeaderLine   = 0" parameter, no header line will be added to the file but this seems to be not working. I tried to include the top element "File" with the same parameters and different combinations but was not able to achieve the result and it stopped the file creation altogether.
    So, I'll appreciate if anyone can suggest something to get rid of the this blank line at the beginning of the file.
    Regards,
    Athar

    Extra blank line is actually provided for the FNAME node, but not displayed because of it has different structure with Record node.
    Change the structure for FNAME to :
    <FName>
    <Data>
    <Line>some file name</Line>
    </Data
    </Fname>
    this way "some file name" will be dispalyed in the text file at the first line of file. To remove it use this trick, define the following values in Content Conversion Parameters:
    in the Recordset Structure : FName,Record
    FName.fieldFixedLengths     = 0
    FName.fixedLengthTooShortHandling =     Cut
    FNamee.fieldSeparator = '0'
    FName.endSeparator =     '0'
    Record.fieldSeparator = 'nl'
    Record.endSeparator = 'nl'

  • Getting Error while running a file adapter.

    Hi all,
    I am doing a small application where I need to read an image from a shared path and send the base64code of that image in response. For that I am using File Adapter and Read
    operation. I have just hard coded the image name didnt give any wild card or expressions. I generated a service which is a proxy using the jca of that File Adapter. I added a stage
    replacing the response body with the opaque element of the request body. When I run the proxy I am getting something like *"The invocation resulted in an error: "* in response
    and in the stack trace I am getting *"Failed to set the value of context variable "body". Value must be an instance of {http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/}Body."* as the fault
    reason I am unable to detect where exactly I am going wrong. Kindly help me in resolving this.
    Thanks,
    Phanindra.

    Not sure why you want to replace. Since the response of the proxy would remain to hold the request body by default.
    If you have stored the opaque element in a variable ($var_opaque), then you can do the following.
    XPath : .
    In variable : body
    Expression : $var_opaque
    Check - "Replace node content"
