File adapter scheduling

I want to file adapter to pickup the file from tuesday to saturday. Donot pick up on Sunday & Monday.
Do I need to specify the interval as 86400 in configuration and in RWB schedule it from tuesday to saturday.

Hi,
Yes you need to give some polling interval. But with external scheduling from Runtime Workbench you can activate the Communication channel for particular time. So for that specific period the polling interval will work.
Refer
it will be available from SP19

  • File Adapter scheduler

    Hi Group,
I schedule File Adapter for the particular time in the  day,if file not polled how to trigget the alert.can any body suggest.

if file not polled how to trigget the alert
You mean to say due to some error , if the file fails to get picked ?
Then you can create AlertCategory and alert rule for corresponding interface to raise an alert on such an error.

  • File adapter schedule

    Hi,
I need the file adapter to poll a directory every day at 04:00 - how is that done (besides activating the adapter at 04:00 in the morning and set the poll interval to 86400...)?
    /Jakob

    Hi folks,
I put it the question because i wanted to be sure that the File adapter has no option of scheduling the message.
The actual problem is because of some bad behavior that we have notised: the directory which holds the file(s), is filled by some external company´s via FTP. We set up the fileadapter to pull every 1 minut - but have seen some cases where the fileadapter starts to read the file while it´s beeing transfered - resulting in an half read file!
The reason why we wanted to schedule the reading to 04:00 is because it´s not likely that any files are delivered at that time (but it could happen...).
So maybee the Proxy options could work but i dont think the message-mapping thing (by Screenivas) would work because i still have to schedule it by doing it at 04:00 in the morning.
I have asked SAP via the OSS about this case and the answer is: scheduling is not supported by the file adapter. An solution would be to write an script running on the server who moves the file from one directory to the XI directory at 04:00.
So i just hope that the file adapter sometime in the future is developed with scheduling - it should have been already i think (but this is the case in many areas of XI).

    Jakob

  • Schedule  the file adapter

    Hi experts,
I use file adapter to read files in the source directory, and I've setup IR and ID. It works very well.
Now I want to let this scenarios run from 12:00 A.M to 8:00 A.M.     What to do for this?
    Many thanks.

    Hi
The solution to your problem is detailed here
    /people/shabarish.vijayakumar/blog/2006/11/26/adapter-scheduling--hail-sp-19-
Runtime Workbench -> Component Monitoring -> Communication Channel Monitoring should be accessible and you will need to have the authorizations of the user group SAP_XI_ADMINISTRATOR with the role modify.

  • Scheduling Receiver File Adapter

    Hi All,
I would like to know if "Planning Availability Times" works for receiver file adapter (communication channel).
My scenario is IDoc to file. The IDoc from SAP end might be sent to XI at anytime but XI has to create the target file at a specific time on a day (say 9 pm). I'm just wondering if I can use "Planning Availability Times" to schedule the receiver cc.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Scheduling File Adapter

We are collecting IDOCs in the Application system . We want to trigger this file everyday at NOON.
Should the Trigger point should be in R/3 or it should be in XI? I am using a sender File Adapter and we are on SP19.
    Any related blogs
    Thanks

    HI,
How are you going to get this message into XI ? Is it IDOC >XI>File Scenario..
or you have the out put file located in the SAP system with Multiple IDocs. Now you need to transfer this file into reciever via XI.
anyway as per the last statement you are using Sender File Adapeter. SO you need to schedule this in XI . For this you can go to RWB>Component Monitoring>Adapter Engine>Communication Channel Monitioring>Choose your channel and go with <b>Automatic</b> option. This is the concept of Availability Time for the Adapters. In this way you can schedule the Sender File Adapter

  • Schedule sender file adapter

    hi all,
Is is possible in some way to schedule the file adapter? My requirement is that the file is created in the source directory at 8:00 am but I need to pick up the file only at 11:00 am. How can I do this? How are these scenarios typically handled?
    thanks,
    lasya

    Hi,
Unfortunately it's not yet available. According to recent thread on this forum, this functionality could appear with SP20 (thus about at the end of January), but it could be after...
    Sap TechEd news
    Another solution could be:
    1. Your sender sent the file in folder F1, when I want to do it.
    2. Create a litle Java function or a DOS command which take a this file from folder F1 and move it to folder F2
    3. Schedule this one by a Windows Task in order to plan it exactly when you want.
    4. Inside XI, your File sender CC pick up file in folder F2.
    Regards.

  • Scheduling the file adapter

    Hi,
i know that file adapter can't be schedualed, however my customer want to send me a message that a file has arrived and only then to wake XI to proccess it.
I don't want to use BPM.
    Any thought of a workaround?

    Hi,
I guess I have been seeing many requirements for 'scheduling XI messages' especially 'adapter-level scheduling'.
'Adapter-level scheduling' ability is not currently available in SAP NW XI.
What you can do is, make use of the 'Event-driven message processing' feature of SAP NW XI. What it means is, the adapter would pick up the message and it will be held in the XI pipeline for 'delayed message processing'. Then from the central scheduler you can send a trigger to XI to process the message.
Here is a recorded Presentation on this topic:
    https://sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/fd89cdb5-0b01-0010-6289-ac0ad1ccc5c0
Here is a recorded Demo on how this can be configured using 'SAP Central Job Scheduling by Redwood' (any other central scheduler that is certified for BC-XBP can also be used):
    https://sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/c0cfd2b5-0b01-0010-a8bd-c140d07d310c
The recordings are available in the following Job Scheduling page (SDN -> SAP NetWeaver -> Plantform & Operations -> Administration -> SAP NW Central Job Scheduling by Redwood)
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/docs?rid=/webcontent/uuid/abb91c2a-0b01-0010-6ca6-9f0f62268454#idawk5oe [original link is broken]
In the future you can expect something along the lines of 'a maintenance window at the Adapter/Channel level'. If and when this is made available, it may be possible to activate/deactivate the file adapter (i.e., the communication channel) from the central scheduler.
    Hope it is helpful.

I want to post 'file 2' only after 'file 1' successfully posted in SAP.
If 'file 1' not posted successfully then 'file 2' will not post and wait in XI for 'file 1'.

  • File adapter should pick a single file at a time

    Hi,
I have File to RFC scenario.. in my source directory  I'm getting bunch of files with  the same name.  at a time.. but  i want to pick the one by one only. that means.. my file adapater poll interval is 30 seconds.. every 30 seconds it will pick the one file.. even though there are multiple files.. but my file adapter should pick a single file ata time..
but at present my file adapater was picking all the files ata time..  but i want to make my file adapter should pick single file ata time..
for this.. any special  configuration we need to do..  or  any  ideas or suggestion  .. will be.. appriciated..
    regards
    Babu

    >>any special configuration we need to do..
there is no default configuration to achieve this functionality.
I speculate that any of this should work.
    1. Post the files to a intermediate directory and use a SCRIPT/Batch program to move only one file at a time frame to the source directory.
    2. Uncheck the option Process Read only files in the sender CC to prevent the file adapter to pick the read only files. Use a script that changes the permission of one file at a time so that the file adapter will pick that file alone.
In both the cases the script needs to be scheduled at the OS level to run every 30 seconds.
    Thanks

  • Receiver file adapter not responding

    Hi guys,
I have 2 interfaces in XI development system that make use of receiver file adapter in order to receive some .txt files. Although these communication channels used to work until yesterday, for some strange reason they stopped functioning, but only in development system. However, I cannot see any error in Runtime Workbench (Communication channel monitoring), it's status is "correctly configured and started" and has a green sign. But, when I sent a file from sender adapter, it is sent correctly, but it never gets received from receiver communication channel.
There is no error in SXMB_MONI either.
In XI production system, the same interfaces are functioning well.
    Any ideas?

  • File adapter error after updating to SP19 (INBOUND_BINDING_ERROR)

File adapter error after updating to SP19 (INBOUND_BINDING_ERROR)
    Hi all,
im having some troubles after the installation of SP19 (from SP16 in NW04) with File Adapter (File->Idoc scenario).
In message monitoring (Adapter Engine), I have several messages with status "System Error". The error text is :
<i>Received XI System Error. ErrorCode: INBOUND_BINDING_ERROR
ErrorText:   ErrorStack: Error in sender agreement for party '', service 'LEGACY_DEV', interface namespace 'http://XXXXX.com/XXXXXX', interface 'INTERFACE_OB' No sender agreement found for , , , , ,</i>
Im sure that the Integration Directory settings have not been changed. So I tried the following, but the problem persists:
    - Deactivation/Activation of File Adapter channel
    - check that user XIISUSER is not locked
    - checked SXI_CACHE (it seems ok)
    - Many CPA full refresh
    - Dummy modifications of File Adapter channels (a dummy modification of the description)
    - Reboot J2EE
I've seen that someone else had problems after upgrading to SP19. I'd really appreciate any suggestion of how to solve my issue.
    Thank you

  • Receiver file adapter not functioning

    Hi guys,
We have developed some interfaces that are exporting some .txt files in ftp locations and therefore they make use of receiver file adapter. Although the receiver file adapter used to function properly some days ago, for some strange reason, it stopped receiving any files. This happens only in XI development system but not in XI production system. In XI development, in Runtime Workbench --> Communication Channel monitoring, I can see this communication channel's status as correctly configured and started, with a green sign on the right, but it is not responding when some files are sent to it, and therefore there are no output files in target directory.
    Any ideas?? It is urgent.
