File Automate Contact sheet option

Where can I find FILE > Automate > Contact Sheet, in Photoshop Cs5    this option is available in earlier version, but I cant find in CS5

It is no longer there by default, but feel free to use Bridge or install suitable scripts, including the old ones that still linger somewhere on the PS install DVD...

  • Contact Sheet Option Missing

Can anyone think of a reason why neither my Photoshop CS4 nor my Bridge CS4 has the Contact Sheet option under Automate (PS) or Tools (Bridge).
    I'm using an Intel MacBook.
The option on my IMac G5.

Only if you installed it there yourself as per the link provided.  It's no longer part of the default CS4 installation, but comes separately:

  • Why no Contact Sheet options in Bridge from CS5.5 UK

I have searched and searched, but could find nothing on this issue. I tried to call Adobe Support, but they said I had to pay as we have a volume license! We've only had the product 2 weeks!
Anyway, in Bridge you used to be able to select the Ouput module and have options for making a PDF contact sheet. I get nothing. I thought perhaps it was a corrupt installation, so I tried another Mac, but the same thing. I thought perhaps it was the vesion of CS5.5 (Design Standard) so I tried another Mac with Web Premium. Same thing. I vaguely remember reading something about some modules don't work for all localized versions yet, but I couldn't verify that anywhere.
If anyone could shed some light on this I would be really grateful.

That's why I thought it might have been a corrupt install, but it's the same on all our Macs, even the Web Premium edition.
You mean that you have bought different Suites and installed them on all you Macs and they all have the same issue? Are you working on files on a server or standalone?
Normally the advice would be to restart Bridge holding down option key and reset preferences, even combined with deleting the Bridge plist file but when it are different install disks on different Macs that is not likely to solve the problem.
Have you already contacted your software supplier?

  • Contact Sheet II Function CS - Resolution altering from pixels/inch to pixels/cm

I am using CS3 with MAC OS X 10.4.11 when I create a contact sheet using File>Automate>Contact Sheet II, I set the 'Resolution' to 72 Pixels/Inch however once the contact sheet is created and I check the image size it has been reset to 28.346 Pixels/cm. This did not happen in CS2
Does anyone know why this is happening? It is annoying as I have to manually reset the Resolution to Pixels/Inch for each Contact Sheet
    Thanks heaps
    Di

    Hi Ramon,
Thanks for your suggestion, however the Preferences> Units and Rulers setting does not have anything to do with the Contact Sheet function. The Contact Sheet function itself asks for the Units (which I set to 'cm' as I want to specify the contact sheet dimensions in cm's). The 'Resolution' is a separate setting that I set to 'Pixels/Inch'. I have a friend who is doing exactly the same thing as me and the Resolution gets set correctly as 'per/inch' in the final contact sheet. Their Unit/Rulers preference setting is CM so this proves that it is not related to the contact sheet function.
The reason I don't think that the preferences is the issue is because this behavior is happening on 3 separate installations on 3 separate machines.
I will try this anyway and see how I go?
    Cheers
    Di

  • What happened to contact sheet?

I have just upgraded to CS4 from CS... what happened to Contact Sheet? As in File>Automate>Contact Sheet? I don't seem to have this in my menu when I go to File>Automate... or, is there a new way to make a contact sheet that has changed from CS-CS4?

If you are anything like me, you will be dismayed by the prospect of making contact sheets in the Bridge PDF output module, instead of file/automate/contact sheet.
I would just encourage you to persist a bit with the output module. I did and wouldn't go back now. Headers, footers, page numbers etc save me a lot of time, and it is much quicker.

  • Creating a Contact Sheet in CS5

Arrrrg!  Where did the contact sheet go in CS5?!  I found out how to make one in Bridge, but the output is a .pdf.  How can I create a contact sheet in PS as a .jpg?

I believe the contact sheet II plugin only works in the 32 bit version of cs5,
so you need to run the 32 bit version of photoshop and then the plugin(s)
will be under File>Automate>Contact Sheet II.

  • Printing a contact sheet

Is there any way to print a large group of photos as a contact sheet, or set of contact sheets?
I know you can use Adobe Photoshop and do an automated batch command to create a contact sheet and then print it.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

"Contact Sheets" should be one of the defaults at the top of the settings panel of the print dialog. There are many options, including printing metadata.
Fuller instructions can be found by searching the Help file for "Contact Sheet":
    http://documentation.apple.com/search/#q=contact%20sheet
If you can't get it set up the way you want, ask.

  • Image Dimensions Overlay on Contact Sheet

When exporting contact sheets from Bridge, I'm able to activate a text overlay that dispalys the file name under each thumbnail. I'd love to be able to set up a contact sheet that also overlayed the print dimensions of the image in inches. So for example, if an image is 5"x7.25", it would display that under the thumbnail of the exported contact sheet. Is there any way this can be done? I've been checking out a variety of different contact sheet options with various software and haven't found a way to do this yet.

I don't think it would know.  Image size is a function of pixel dimension and resolution.

  • Contact Sheet, Photo Collage, or Photo Book?

Request help to better understand PSE6 capability and to identify the right option to use:
    A. Contact Sheet Option
I have 138 pictures that I can print using "contact sheet" with landscape page setup and 6 pictures per page. I can separately select to include dates and captions. The result looks great! The issue is that I can not save the collection of contact sheets as a PDF or as any kind of file that I can electronically send to anyone, or recall, edit, or print again.
    B. Photo Book Option.
The photo book option puts one picture on one page and 4 on the next. Never six pictures on one page. And I also have to fiddle with frame size, etc to compensate for portait vs lanscape pictures. It also will not let me include dates. It can, however, be saved as a PDF.
    C. The photo collage option
The photo collage option lets you select between 21 picture/page options. However none of them include 4 or 6 pictures per page, and half of them are for angled picture placements. It also will not include dates. but it can be saved as a PDF.
What I think I really want is option A (Contact Sheet) with the ability to PDF or save the resultant set of contact sheets in one file.
Am I understanding the problem and the capability right?
I'm using PSE6 with a one year old Dell Vostro 1510 with Vista and 4 meg memory.
    Thanks for your guidance,
    Ron

You can try using one of the free pdf makers such as PDF reDirect. (google to find many choices).
When you install one of these you get a pdf maker as a printer option. Simply choose the pdf maker as your printer when you hit print and you will get a pdf.

  • Preview.app contact sheet "reflection" feature

    hi all -
when in "contact sheet" mode in Preview.app, each image is given a "reflection" type of effect sitting underneath it... and when looking at many files and wanting to see the filename, this is _extremely_ annoying and productivity-killing...
anyone know of a way to turn this "feature" off?
    cheers,
    -m

I have run up against the same problem  I finally resorted to opening my PSE8 and using the contact sheet option there.  PSE has much better printing options than PS CS4!!!!  Go figure.

  • Contact sheet limited

I used to be able to select 100 pictures or more at a time and print them all on 50 sheets of 4x6 paper, with 2 borderless pics per page. I can no longer do this with iPhoto '08. This is a major drawback for me.
None of the current contact sheet options allows me to do this. Is there a work around that anyone is aware of, or is there another non-Apple program I could use that could give me that option?
    Thank you!!
    John

    John:
No, that's one feature of iPhoto 6 that was dropped in iPhoto 7. You can request it at: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html.
You will need to use a 3rd party application for that. I'm not sure if Portraits and Prints can do that but it's supposed to let the user have a multitude of layouts. See if its got a demo mode.
Other than that you could use either Seashore or Acorn, both freeware image editors, that can take two photos and put them on one canvas. Not the easiest apps to learn but they will do the job, 2 photos at a time.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
