file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/user/Application%20Data/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/8ylcbvzh.default/extensions/toolbar
pl help me to sort out this problem

The Ask Toolbar is causing that in the Firefox 3.6.13+ versions. Uninstall that extension.
There are a couple of places to check for the Ask toolbar:
* Check the Windows Control panel for the Ask Toolbar - http://about.ask.com/apn/toolbar/docs/default/faq/en/ff/index.html#na4
* Also check your list of extensions, you may be able to uninstall it from there - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+add-ons

  • How do I locate 5/20/2011 1:05:09 AM Packed: Swf2Swc C:\Documents and Settings\User\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\3xe4911x.default\Cache\F\0D\C12DFd01 and what does it mean?

I am just wondering how I can locate this ~5/20/2011 1:05:09 AM Packed: Swf2Swc C:\Documents and Settings\User\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\3xe4911x.default\Cache\F\0D\C12DFd01~ what is it and what are profiles...on mozilla I have someone remotly doing things to my computer I didn't sign up for,

    1. This is where your main Profile folder is located:
    C:\Documents and Settings\myname\'''Application Data'''\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default
    2. Secondary location:
    C:\Documents and Settings\myname\'''Local Settings\Application Data'''\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default
No, don't delete that folder or the files in it. Those files would be re-created the next time you open Firefox. Those files are necessary.
    3. Firefox put that file there, so it knows its' there. Delete it and Firefox will download that data all over again, and put it back in that folder.
    4. Bookmarks are stored in the '''places.sqlite''' file in the main Profile folder, since the Firefox 3 versions.
Some of those files have been moved around from one major version of Firefox to the next to improve various aspects of "performance" and also to minimize file size for automated personal data backup purposes & for roaming Profiles in a large network setting. The urlclassifier file can get to be quite large, which could really screw-up roaming Profiles on a network server.

  • Firefox is creating endless copies of C:\Documents and Settings\Catain Kirk\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\afbrfhnj.default\Cache ... how do I stop it

    I just installed 9.0.1 and it continually creates copies of C:\Documents and Settings\Catain Kirk\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\afbrfhnj.default\Cache ... how do I stop it !!!
    I'm running Windows XP Version 5.1 SP3.

    Hi,
That is the disk cache of Firefox, where contents of loaded pages are kept for faster retrieval and it also helps to conserve bandwidth. To disable this: '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Options''' > '''Advanced''' > '''Network''', check (tick) '''Override automatic cache management ''' and put the value at zero.

  • Can I safely delete this file? \Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\cqzz0psd.default

This has been identified as a Dealtime tracking cookie by Advanced System Optimizer, and a box popped up, led me to this file extension and highlighted the file. I'm just not sure what to do next. I don't know if it was prompted by a Web site or not. If so, I have no idea which one, as several windows were open.

'''No, do not delete that folder.''' All your bookmarks, customizations, saved passwords, etc., are in there.

  • Every time I access the internet through Firefox I get a box with the message "Firefox could not download the search plugin ///c:/Users/Patton/AppData/Roaming/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/b2qcb69.default/extensions". How do I get rid of this thing? Thanks

How do I get rid of or fix this problem?

Thanks - I just deleted the ASK toolbar - don't use it anyway. It fixed the issue - thanks again.

  • Is there a way from where I can restore my profile from a back-up that I took from a folder (e.g \Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\)

    Before re-installing Firefox 19, I mistakenly took backup of my profile from a folder - C:\Documents and Settings\garan14\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles and not from C:\Documents and Settings\garan14\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles.
While installing, I selected "Delete the old profiles" option and I don't see any old profile folder under C:\Documents and Settings\garan14\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles.
However, I have a lot of important data saved under that profile which now has got deleted.
Is there any way I can still restore the data from old profile? (P.S.: As mentioned above, I have a back-up of profile folder which resides under Local Settings folder)
I am in a desperate need for the help. Pls reply as soon as possible.

i have some problem. i delete firefox profile and i cannot use mozilla right now. can you help me ? thank you

  • ESET NOD 32 cannot scan past this point. I keep getting stuck at 56% at the following; C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\ Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports\Pending. Is this a problem with NOD32 or with Firefox? Thank you.

I ran into a glitch on my system that I tried to fix myself. My NOD32 was always showing the yellow warning circle as my protection status when I started my computer. I tried to fix this every way I new how.
Then I started to get pop ups asking me to fix and then send system error reports to Windows. Some stating they were '''''critical.''''' So I sent NOD32 the e-mail below.
'''Me:''' I cannot seem to run a complete system scan. I keep getting stuck at 56% at the following point. C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\
    Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports\Pending
I also keep getting messages to send error reports to Microsoft constantly. I also have this code C:\pagefile.sys-error opening
    Thank you for your assistance.
    '''Their solution:'''
Based on the information you provided, we recommend that you upgrade to latest version of ESET NOD32 Antivirus and see if this makes a difference.
Please click or copy/paste the following ESET Knowledgebase article into your web browser for step-by-step instructions:
'''Me''' : I did as they requested and am fully upgraded and licensed with their new edition.
Ran a new scan same problem.
I sent them a new e-mail but now wonder if it is a Firefox issue as, C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\
''Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports\Pending'' this is where the scan stalls.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

Try delete the files in Pending folder and make the scan again, do not be afraid to delete the files see : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/679996
    thank you

That looks normal to me. What version did you have before? The layout of the Firefox cache folder changed some time ago so that more files could be accommodated (i.e., to keep performance acceptable because Windows slows down with huge numbers of files in a single directory).

  • I found a folder named: 89y5ron9.default, C:\Users\x\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\89y5ron9.default , and its over 1.5 GB large, over 25000 files inside. On google this search didnt match to antything. what is it?

after i delete it, it's few days without it and after that it shows again with lots of files and takes a lot of space. I tryed to search on google but without results. My scanning program spends 15 min to check this folder (longer tahn all other parts of HDD)
    hope u will answer me
    thanks.

That's your browser cache folder. The name is randomized so it's unlikely to come up in a search. If you want to manage the size of the cache folder rather than letting Firefox use the amount of space it likes, you can do that here:
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab, check the box for "Override automatic cache management" to limit the space that Firefox uses.
Or, if your AV software allows you to exclude folders in a scheduled or manual scan, you could exclude the folder. Not sure you really want to do that, though, because sometimes a cached file won't be recognized as malware when you first encounter it, only days later, and it would be nice to clear out undesirable files.

  • Widows cannot find C:\Users\LeeData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\cq2t...getPlusPlus_Adobe_reg.exe.

A box appears when clicking on the Firefox icon to open the google search page I tells me to try again when I click on ok it goes away and the Google search appears many time through accessing different programs the box appears and disappears when click ok or X

Get rid of getplus. It causes problems for a lot of users. Using the following instructions, you can get Adobe Flash and Adobe Reader without getting getplus installed; it gets installed when you click that "Allow" button just below the tabs on the Adobe download pages.

  • How come File : C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\F\Profiles\h4n7abn.default\prefs.js still registers as infection even though uninstalled Firefox?

Already asked but at the time did not register to see if any reply forthcoming, so here is the simple question again:
"C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\h4nh7abn.default\prefs.js" keeps coming up on my computer as a malware item even though I have completely uninstalled Firefox.
    How can this be?!?
I uninstalled all Firefox remnants with a good uninstaller. Re-booted. I've also run scans, including the JRT scan recommended on another mozilla support page, yet it still keeps coming back as though Firefox is still on my computer, even in relation to the "JRT scan"... This is weird...what to do?
--Avast antivirus, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, Hitman Pro, JRT scanner, CCleaner, etc., installed, Vista - 32 bit.

    Sounds like a false positive.<br />
The prefs.js file only stores modified prefs and no code (data) that can run and be harmful that way.
It is usually best to exclude the Firefox profile folder from scanning to prevent such software from corrupting files in the Firefox profile folder.

    Hi,
As per the PAM (Product Availability Matrix for SAP NetWeaver CE 7.1), Firefox 1.5 to 2.0 are supported.
The PAM can be accessed on the service.sap.com/support portal.

This is the link for the PAM. you will need an S-User ID to access it.

  • Is there a configuration option to prevent an unprivileged user from accessing the firefox profile manager and/or firefox safe mode?

I'm designing a locked-down Firefox user profile for use on public computers (common room in an apartment building). I can use existing plugins and add-ons to prevent access to about:config and to lock down the various firefox preferences but this is moot if a user can still access the firefox profile manager or can start firefox in safe mode. Is there any configuration setting that could prevent this?

    Hi...
Reinstalled 10.7.3 from the Combo Updater from apples website.
The only way to reinstall the Mac OS X or repair the startup disk running v10.7.3 Lion, is to use Lion Recovery The combo update does not do that.
How much free space on the startup disk? Not enough free space can account for the problems with your apps.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there's a minimum of 15% free disk space.
    and no web-pages will load.
Try using OpenDNS as suggested here >  Safari 5.0.1 or later: Slow or partial webpage loading, or webpage cannot be found
Use OpenDNS for better speed, more security, includes anti phishing filters, prevents browser redirects, and it's free.
Open System Preferences / Preferences then select the Network tab. Click the Advanced tab then click the DNS tab.
    Click +
Enter these addresses exactly as you see them here.
    208.67.222.222
    Click +
    208.67.220.220
    Then click OK.

  • I get an AVG alert on this file ever time I open Firefox Profiles\\dlmgqhum.default;

    Ever time I start Firefox I get an AVG resident shield alert on this file Profiles\\dlmgqhum.default;
I have added to AVG exceptions and tried to(AVG) ignore but still get it ever time I start Firefox....
Can I just delete the folder and all it's files?

If you are using AVG 2011, open the AVG program, open the Tools menu, select Advanced Settings. Scroll down the list to Resident Shield and click on it. Make sure Scan for Tracking Cookies is unchecked. Click on Okay. The procedure should be similar for AVG 9.

  • How do I transfer files and documents from one user account to another?

How do I transfer documents and files from one user account to another?

You haven't understood me. Follow these steps:
    1. Log in the user where are the files you want to transfer, and open a Finder window.
    2. In Finder, select Go menu (on the menu bar) > Go to Folder, and type /Users/Shared. Now you're on Shared folder, so leave that window.
    3. Open a new Finder window without closing the old one, go to the folder with the files you want to transfer, and copy them to Shared folder.
    4. After copying the files to Shared folder, go to  > Log Out, and log in the other user.
    5. Repeat the step 2, and you will get access to the transferred files. Now, you can open them directly from this folder, or you can copy them to a folder on your user folder
