File:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/ keeps popping up
this keeps popping up every time i open up a new tab or click on a link doesn't really hamper my usage but is mildly annoying to have to keep closing it.
Try to delete the file pluginreg.dat in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and let Firefox rebuild a new version.

It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and theme and [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+plugins this one] for plugins.
If you need support for one of your add-ons, you'll have to contact its author. -
This is the entire message I get, but if click "stop" or "continue" nothing is fixed and the message is repeating forever...

How this can be fixed
regards
MicheyI encountered this issue with Win 7 but fixed it by doing the following: Open up AVG and then click on Tools / Advanced settings. On the bottom of the list should be AVG Security Toolbar, click on it. There should be an option to Repair the toolbar.

Accidentally clicked on "Allow for Safe Networks Only" and saved it. When launching Firefox, this error: XML Parsing Error: no element found

I have uninstalled and reinstalled, changed to a new profile, nothing works. I have looked at Options - Network - No Proxy

Every time Firefox is first opened on restarting my computer, it opens very slowly, finally giving the unresponsive script warning Script: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsBlocklistService.js:648. This '''''really''''' slows things down. I tried uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling; it didn't help. I'm running Windows XP Media Center edition Version 2002 with Service Pack 2.

When I try to click on Add-ons, from the Tools menu, I get this error message of an unresponsive script: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsExtensionManager.js:623. This is to say the least about the unresponsive script errors at other times. However, at all times, it won't go away - even by clicking on the 'stop script' option; even with checking the 'don't ask again' option. I've cleared the cookies and history as best I could, but it appears that there is some sort of conflict. How can I resolve this? Kevin: [email protected] Thank you.
This is typically caused by a problem with the Personas Plus 1.6 add-on and it conflicting with the Google toolbar.
Try disabling the Personas Plus add-on. To do this open the add-ons manager by selecting the Tools menu, then Add-ons. In the list of installed extensions click on Personas Plus, then click on either disable or uninstall.
If you can not access the add-ons manager, follow the instructions in the [[safe mode]] article to start Firefox in safe mode. You should then be able to disable or uninstall Personas Plus. You can find more information on this procedure in the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article. -

On some pages, Firefox goes slow/ stops/ waits, and a box with the message:
A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete.
Script: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/extensions/%7B635abd67-4fe9-1b23-4f01-e679fa7484c1%7D/components/nsYahooFileIO.js:26

It does not happen on all pages.I did, and realised that was the probelem as soon as I posted the question. It fixed it, many thanks for your response. Why do the add on tool bars cause so many problems, and I do not even remember letting it appear!

When starting mozilla firefox I get a screen that includes the following
Script: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/modules/XPCOMUtils.jsm:165
I am prompted to continue or stop script...Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the ''Safe mode'' start window.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (on Mac: "Firefox > Quit") -

I had to downgrade from ver. 4.0 back to 3.6 for my job. This version is the only on compatible with their add-ons and it gives me script errors at least twice a day. The only add-ons I'm running are for work and others who do this job don't have this problem. Using 4.0 I did experience it less often but it wasn't completely cured.
This is typically caused by a problem with the Personas Plus 1.6 add-on and it conflicting with the Google toolbar.
