Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US) AppleWebKit/531.22.7 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Safari/531.22.7

Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode
See some reports that the Ask.com toolbar is causing the issue [https://support.mozilla.com/tiki-view_forum_thread.php?locale=en-US&comments_parentId=656201&forumId=1]
If Safe Mode works and you have the Ask toolbar installed I recommend you uninstall it.

I encountered this issue with Win 7 but fixed it by doing the following: Open up AVG and then click on Tools / Advanced settings. On the bottom of the list should be AVG Security Toolbar, click on it. There should be an option to Repair the toolbar.

    Hello Carway.
It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and theme and [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+plugins this one] for plugins.
If you need support for one of your add-ons, you'll have to contact its author.

  • A script appears but with multiple continues and stop does neither : ///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsExtensionManager.js:2309

///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsExtensionManager.js:2309 clicking the continue and stop options results in the warning continuing. I am unable to close Firefox and cannot delete the program and reinstall. I am using IE to reach this site. Is there another way to uninstall Firefox and reinstall or to get the script to function. Thank you for your help. TG

This is typically caused by a problem with the Personas Plus 1.6 add-on and it conflicting with the Google toolbar.
Try disabling the Personas Plus add-on. To do this open the add-ons manager by selecting the Tools menu, then Add-ons. In the list of installed extensions click on Personas Plus, then click on either disable or uninstall.
If you can not access the add-ons manager, follow the instructions in the [[safe mode]] article to start Firefox in safe mode. You should then be able to disable or uninstall Personas Plus. You can find more information on this procedure in the [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] article.

  • When I open Add-ons, from the Tools menu, I get an unresponsive script error: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsExtensionManager.js:623.

When I try to click on Add-ons, from the Tools menu, I get this error message of an unresponsive script: file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mozilla%20Firefox/components/nsExtensionManager.js:623. This is to say the least about the unresponsive script errors at other times. However, at all times, it won't go away - even by clicking on the 'stop script' option; even with checking the 'don't ask again' option. I've cleared the cookies and history as best I could, but it appears that there is some sort of conflict. How can I resolve this? Kevin: [email protected] Thank you.
