File can not be written????

The last couple of times I have tried to sync my ipad it tells me that certain files, usually movies, can't be written and then it completely freezes and doesn't complete the sync.
This has also started happening with my iphone.
I'd rather not delete everything and reinstall itunes, is there anything I can do??

I had the same problem with my itouch. I upgraded the ipod to version 6 and itunes to version 10.7. That has cured the issue for me

I have dowloaded a film to rent. Downloads to iTunes without problem. However it does not transfer to my iPhone.
At first it appeared on iTunes as though it should be on my phone (it definately wasn't).
Apple Support sent me film to download again.
Tried to transfer it again tonight and the error message I get is: "iTunes could not copy [film title]Spy to the iPhone because the file could not be written"

Two possibilities come to mind.
Check your source hard drive for errors, right-click on the drive holding the library, click Properties, tools, check for errors, scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors...
Or...
Repair Security Permissions
Right-click on your main iTunes folder and click Properties, then go to the Security tab and click Advanced. If necessary grant your account and SYSTEM full control of this folder, subfolders and files, then tick the option to replace permissions on child objects which will repair permissions throughout the library. This is the XP dialog but Windows 7 shouldn't be too different.
If it won't let you change the permissions use the Owner tab to take ownership from an account with administrator privileges.

ITunes could not copy ''file'' because the file could not be written

Recently, I have been experiencing some problems with iTunes and my iPad 2. Whenever I try to sync movies into my iPad, I get the error message ''iTunes could not copy ''file'' because the file could not be written''. This message always appears whenever I try to sync a few movies at once. When I check my iPad after it's synced, I find that a few of my movies successfully sync into my iPad, and can be played. However, some movies show up on my iPad but cannot be played. The video thumbnail just shows a picture of a blank TV screen. Is there any way where I can fix this problem? Thanks.

I was having the same issue with music and movies but it had been ok before. The sync would freeze on a random file and then i had to take out the USB cable to clear it. After trying all sorts of things i saw someone mentioning about Anti virus and firewalls. I am using McAfee so i disabled it as a test. After this i could sync music and movies without issue!!!!! So in my case the firewall/anti virus was causing a problem. McAfee updates itself a lot so I am guessing something has happened in a recent update that impacted iTunes.I am not sure if this kind of thing is also causing your problem but it sounds very familiar.

following error message is struggeling me quiet hard:

repairing, de - & reinstalling Secude brought no solution. First the pin caching window appears and after entering the error message.

STP render file could not be written

Hi, I'm on STP 3.0.1 and trying edit a sound track that is ~20 min long. All I'm doing is putting together this voiceover track from multiple takes that were captured before and I'm laying them in the timeline, cleaning and doing minor tweaks. It's pretty straight forward. Everything worked fine until half an hour ago. I started getting an error message "render file could not be written". I'm using an external drive (Glyph) which seems to be working fine and I have 1.3 TBytes on it free. I have no idea what's going on. Anyone can help?

Anyway, is the Drive you're saving this to or using for Scratch MacOS Extended, or Fat32 format?
Have you Verified/Repaired all the HDs involved, including your boot drive, (not Permissions, but the Drive Directories)?
Very Important, how much Free Space is on your Hard Drive first of all? Click on the Macintosh HD on the Desktop, then do a Get Info on it.

"File could not be written" Lightroom 4

I am running the latest version of Lightroom and have suddenly, just today, started getting this error. Nothing about my PC has changed. I can't export ANYTHING to anywhere on the C drive. I simply get the error message "the file could not be written". After looking through various forums, they seem to suggest it's a permissions problem. I am the only user on the PC and am also the administrator - I can't see how permissions would be the problem. I don't know what else to try...?
I am running Windows 8 Release Preview 64bit with latest version of Lightroom.
Other PC specs:
AMD FX-4100 @ 3.6GHz
16GB DDR3 RAM
Asus 560 Ti DIRECTUCUII @ 930Hz
168GB hard drive (Ancient)

Okay, this is odd. I think the problem might be that Lightroom didn't like the file I was using. It was an old JPEG. The reason for this being I processed some RAW files I took today and they exported with no problems straight to the C drive as TIFFs. The photo I had issues with, Lightroom would not allow it to be exported anywhere on the C drive, I could export it to a USB stick but no where else. Odd. Is this a common occurance??

Photoshop CC 2014 - The file can not be saved in path because an error has occurred

I need again help regarding this issue. Sometimes but very often I receive an error, trying to save a PSD file, the error is: "The file can not be saved in <path> because an error has occurred". After that it is not possible to save the file in any format, using save or save in dialog. The only way to rescue the result is, to save for web as an jpeg. This error occours often using Topaz or NIK filter and until now only in PS-CC 2014. My workflow looks like this:
- Open NEF RAW file in Brdige
- Settings in ACR and give it into PS by clicking OK in ACR
- In PS doing a adjust some levels
- press SHIFT+STRG+ALT+E for a new summary layer
- Uing Topaz Adjust on the new level with 65% opacity
- press SHIFT+STRG+ALT+E for a new summary layer
- Using Topaz DeNoise on the new layer
- pres STRG+i and resize the image to 1200x797
- Using Topaz InFocus on the same layer as DeNoise
- create a vignette with brightness adjustlayer
After this workflow in nearly 90% it is not possible to save the file as PSD or something else, only to save for web as JPG. If I save the file after opening the RAW in PS and after every layer with Topaz Filter, I can save the file when I am done. Same issue occurs using NIK Filters in that way.
I tried to optimize the performance by using this guide: http://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/kb/optimize-performance-photoshop-cs4-cs5.html doesn’t solve the issue.
I re- and installed all Adobe Products more than three times, doesn't solve the issu.
After that I ordered a new SSD drive and insall Windows 7 64bit inkl. All latest hotfixes, patches and drivers. I downloaded the newest Adobe Versions and the newest filter sets from Topaz and NIK. Doesn’t solve the issue.
This is my rig:
Gigabyte Z87X-UD4H mainboard
Intel Core i7 4770k
32GB Corsair RAM
250GB Samsung 840 Evo SSD Drive
nVidia Geforce GTX770
During my tests I took the same RAW File and created nearly 20 adjustment layers and summary layers, without using Topaz or NIK filters. No problem, I was able to save the file as PSD file.
From my point of view, actually, the error occurs only when I am using Topaz or NIK filters. Both supports doesn’t know the issue and if I search the web, I can’t find more then me. It seemed to depend on my settings, my rig or something else, perhaps a cache is overflowed or something like this. Adobe telephone support can’t help because I said I use a third party filter. But it occurs with two different manufactures…
So please guys, help me to figure out why this error occurs in my system.

Update: I tried several times to reproduce the error, actually it dosen't occur. I changed nothing on my system, without reboot it twice. This is what I said in my beginning times: it occurs sometimes but often. I will keep you up to date.

Problem related to PS CS6 ext. on Mac. Installation is OK but I can't open picture from my Nikon D610 (Raw NEF format). I get a message "can not open this format ...". Checking Help menu to see if I miss an update the message I get is that I'm up-to-date but at the end Nikon D610 (format supported of course) files can not be opened . JPEG are OK but I work with raw files. Thanks

What OS are you running: 10.x.x?
What version of the Camera Raw plug-in do you have? Do (About) Plug-ins / Camera Raw to find out.
You need at least ACR 8.3 to open D610 files. If the Help / Updates process does not work, then there is a manual install process you can do. The page with the download is for when people accidentally updated to ACR 8.4 and need to roll back to ACR 8.3 due to their OS being incompatible, but the installer on that page works even if you haven’t erroneously updated to ACR 8.4:

After closing the Firefox browser, a message appears "Severe error: Cannot load resource file; can not run". What could be wrong?

The message: "Severe Error; Can 't load resourse file; can not run" appears after closing Firefox4. All other applications on my pc do not have this problem.

I've found text of this error in npdjvu.dll plugin, remove it and error seems to disappear.

I have a client online at this very moment that just went on and did all their page edits... about 2 hours of work for him.
He went to save the file & received the error "...file can not be accessed or does not exist, Error" (no error number or anything. Here are the steps he took:

Save ... received error
Done... received same error
Call me in panic

Hello Tommy,
The editing session should not time out for 24 hours for a normal login. The period is even longer if “remember me” was checked at login... And if the session timed out, you should have been prompted with the login dialog, not thrown an error.

'file could not be written due to an error' when exporting jpg

I'm working with an Illustrator file in CS2 and after a certain point it has started saying 'the file could not be written due to an error' when exporting to a jpg.
i've tried a couple things like deleting layers and although the file is much smaller, it still says the same error when exporting.
at its highest it was 130mb as an illustrator file and jpgs were 2-5mb.
i''ve tried copying some of the layers into a new file but the error report still comes when i'm exporting.
i have vector and raster based data in the file and tried turning off/deleting either of the layers and there is no difference.
i don't understand why it's started doing this because before it had no problem at all exporting before.
ANY IDEAS ANYONE? I'm trying not to have to reproduce days of work to remake the file.

Sounds like you know a good deal about this product. Is there any way to restore a color profile/setting to an earlier point?
I don't recall changing it and to tell you the truth, wouldn't be able to say which it may have been set to before - if different.

i've upgraded to IOS5 and also my iMac to latest iTunes.
i now found Itunes frequently issued a error during syncing "iphone4 can not be synced as the required file can not be found". i have connected the iphone4 to my iMac using USB (i.e., wired). but without doing any thing further, i go to iTunes and just hit the button to "SYNC" the iphone4 again, it will work.
so, why am i getting that error usually first time around when i connect the iphone?

Hi folks. Am REALLY struggling here and hoping for some help. I too am constantly getting the 'iPhone can not be synced' message since upgrading to a new MacBook and trying to sync my iPhone 3GS. Have tried updating to latest iPhone software and hasn't helped. Have tried all the stuff mentioned above (dumping that file etc) and no luck. When I go to my sync page for photos, even if i un-tick the sync photos option altogether, this error keeps appearing. Very odd and very frustrating. Can't sync - seems to stall at last step of the process every time.
I'm guessing it is photo related as the pics on my iPhone are now all lowres and blurry, and it is asking for sync to iTunes to get high res images onto the phone.
Also have problem going the 'other way'! WHen I go to iPhoto on Mac and try to download new photos taken on iPhone.. I keep getting the message 'The following file could not be imported. The file is an unrecognized format."
