File channel getting blocked.

Hi frnds,
Our process is like this.
Flat files keep coming from a legacy system, the files need to be processed and updated to R/3 using an IDOC.
Some times the files come in an unstructured way/Junk files with the same name, the file adapter tries to process the file and since the flat files structure is different  its not able to process the file, the files keep coming and get accumulated in the FTP
Now my question is , is it possible to move the file (unstructured ones) to a different folder and is it possible to know the name of the file which is creating problems.
Thanks,
Ven.

hi,
>>>is it possible to move the file (unstructured ones) to a different folder
If you want an automated way I don't think so it's possible in standard
>>>and is it possible to know the name of the file which is creating problems.
the name should be visible in the alert - if you can set up those

  • FTP Get File List Action Block, It's double listing files!  ver 11.5

Hi guys.. I have a good one!   I have an FTP Get File List action block in my BLS transaction.  Occasionally, it double lists the files in its output.   For testing I put a repeater with a logevent output where I log the filename, date, and size.  Heres what I saw for my action block output.
    2009-02-13 00:38:00,963  [UserEvent] : File Name: DMM_Export_0010056.txt, File Date 2009-02-13T00:36:00, File Size 339

This is xMII  version 11.5.6 b73  with java 1.4.2_07
I have a workaround by putting in a distinct action block, after the filelist, but anybody have an idea why this might happen?   My theory is that something might be occuring if the file is being written to while we try to process it, but not sure.
I've been building BLS parsers since 2003, (Remember those fun times with Jeremy?)   I've never seen this happen.

My example is a sample log file before the distinct action.  The general log shows nothing other than the subsequent transaction errors I get as a result of running the same error twice (Tcode return from BAPI calls etc)
Here is something else interesting..  my userlog file is acting funny, like its trying to write on top of itself.  could it be the transaction is actually running twice or parts of it?
For example look at the following log entries
This is how my log file entry for a production confirmation should look
    2009-02-13 00:38:06,854 [LHScheduler-Int10_NestingWOProdConf] INFO   UserLog - [UserEvent] :
However sometimes... its looking like this...

Like it started writing to the log, then started again.
The problem we are having is that we have JCO calls to SAP in this transaction that does goods movement, we get locking / block errors back from our  saying that we (our sap account) is already updating the information.   Sometimes the information would be posted twice!  You can see how this has become a HUGE issue posting data to a LIVE system twice.
This is happening on 2 xMII servers.

  • File is getting picked up by Communication channel but not processed by XI

    Hi,
I have a File to File scenario. The input csv file is getting picked by the sender communication channel but its not being processed by XI and thats why no entry is coming in sxmb_moni.
Then I think the message might getting stucked in the inbound que and it comes true. I delete all entries in smq2 but then again process the files but still it is not getting processed by XI rather the entry again came in inbound que.

  • I use Safari as my browser. When on a site and I click on a PDF file I get a black screen and a notice that "Adobe Reader blocked for this website". However, this does not happen if I use Firefox.

I use Safari as my browser. When on a site and I click on a PDF file I get a black screen and a notice that "Adobe Reader blocked for this website". However, this does not happen if I use Firefox.

Back up all data before making any changes. Please take each of the following steps until the problem is resolved.
    Step 1
If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, and the problem is just that you can't print PDF's displayed in Safari, you may be able to print by moving the cursor to the the bottom edge of the page, somewhere near the middle. A black toolbar may appear under the cursor. Click the printer icon.
    Step 2
There should be a setting in its preferences of the Adobe application such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected.
    Step 3
If you get a message such as ""Adobe Reader blocked for this website," then from the Safari menu bar, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
    and check the box marked
    Allow Plug-ins
    Then click
    Manage Website Settings...
and make any required changes to the security settings for the Adobe PDF plugin.
    Step 4
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, move to the Trash any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari.
    Step 5
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others — I don't have a complete list. Don't remove Silverlight if you use the "Netflix" video-streaming service.
    Step 6
Do as in Step 3 with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari.

  • File Adapter gets error while deleting the file

    Hi,
We are running on PI 7.0 SP6. I built a simple integration scenario where a file is picked up from a certain directory on the server (PI server itself) and get processed according to some mapping rules and again put to an other directory. I used the file adapter for picking and putting the file with 2 different communication channels.
My integration works fine. File is picked up processed and put into its new location.
But the file adapter cannot work in archiving or deletion mode. So the file (to be picked up by PI) remains in its original location.
I am getting the following error:

    Hi,
These are a few things you can do:
Check the permissions of the folder where the file is being Placed. (it will mostly have only read permission, this is what i could understand from your explanation)
If you are doing Content conversion, please can you just remove it and see if the XML file is getting generated.
Also, please check if it's picked up by any other application when you place it on the server.

  • Problem in File Channel

    Hi,
I have a scenario whice is split in two parts (to be precise two saperate scenarios execute).
In the first one file is received from a SOAP channel as attachment, and through a receiver file channel it is sent to a local folder in XI.
In the second Interface, a File channel picks that files and througha SOAP channel sends it to the third party.
    Now the issue is,
In the first interface the size of the file received and size of the file sent to XI folder is same, means no truncation is there.
But when the File is picked by the file channel in second interface, the file gets trucated and it only picks a part of the file.
Other interfaces are dealing fine with any file size, but only this particular interface is truncating data.
Any help on this will be appreciated,
    Thanks,
    Vikas

    Hi Vikas,
I dont know why you designed interface like 2 flow, you can avoid one interface as per question
    SOAP---->SAP PI----->File
    File-->SAPPI---->Receiver.current flow,
you can make it SAOP--->pi--->Receiver,but i dont know why you developed as two flows..coming to truncation problem i  dont think problem with communication channel,my advice to you check in Moni Outbound payload,if it is taking whole message then the problem with Maping, some where you done wrong.
    else
first open the content of the file in wordpad and see,and check communication details.

  • Error in Sender File Channel

    Dear all,
I'm trying to execute a File to File scenario. But I'm getting this error in the sender file channel.
"Putting message into send queue failed, due to: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DuplicateMessageException: Message ID a0ff7230-8793-11dc-a4d5-001558e4827d(OUTBOUND) already exists in database: com.sap.sql.DuplicateKeyException: NWMssSQLServer JDBC DriverSQLServerViolation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PK__XI_AF_MSG__2B090089'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.XI_AF_MSG'.."
The file is not getting picked, the processing mode is set to "Delete". Please help me out in resolving it.
    Any hep would be rewarded.
    Regards,
    Younus

    Hi,
Check whether you have given the filename to other communication channel as well. Because it seems to execute another interface where you have a JDBC been used.
If so change the file name in CC and in your file and check it once again.

  • File not getting picked with Sender Adapter

    Hello Experts,
i have configured file sender adapter which is polling configured directory every 60 sec. But i could see file not getting picked up. when looked into Communication channel monitoring i could see following error:
Putting message into send queue failed, due to: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DuplicateMessageException : Message ID aa2ec9a0-44b3-11dc-9c5b-0003baa19669(OUTBOUND) already exists in database: com.sap.sql.DuplicateKeyException: ORA-00001: unique constraint (SAPDX1DB.SYS_C00120924) violated.
is this due to adapter cache. we are on SP20.
has anybody faced this problem earlier?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Rajeev

    Hello
actually there was small problem in file generation and hence it was failing in message mapping which is resolved. but still that problem is there when it is attempting to delete the file. hence it is not able to delete that file.
can we manually clear the send queues or should we refresh CPA cache?
    Thanks

    Hi
Please see the DOC for SITE Command:
SITE command is used by the server to provide services specific to the system. Most of the SITE commands can be used by the admin only. You can get all the available SITE commands by "SITE HELP".

  • 'Use Temporary File' in Receiver File channel

    hi all,
I am facing a strange issue with receiver file channel which I am not sure if somene had already faced. I couldnt find any help from blogs..!
I have configured the Receiver File channel with Write mode as  'Use Temporary File'  with a temporary file name(say tmp.xml)  scheme and Empty-Message Handling set to 'Write Empty File'
When the scenario is executed, its so happening that the temporary file of 0 bytes(empty file) is being created as tmp<msgID>.xml before the actual file is being completely written. It is expected that once the Actual file is completely written, the tmp file should be deleted, but here is not the case. Thus causing both the files being present in the target location. This is not happening often though.
As the receiving application is processing all files from the target direcotry, the file is getting errored out in the target application.
I think the 'Write Empty File' has nothing to do with this as the option 'Write Empty File' is for empty payloads resulting from the message mapping.
Please correct me if am wrong and also provide me the inputs on my issue. Am on PI7.0
    thanks in advance,

    Hi Tilak,
    this is real time interface
real time by using a file... that's a non-sens according to me. You should use a non physical solution (web service, JMS, JDBC, etc...) but a not a file. well... Anyway, you can image that the receiver application schedule the folder every 30s or every 1min, that's almost a real time. Real time is mainly a conceptual view (only synchronous exchange needs really real time). Morevoer, if you really wanted a real time, you should not add a tool like PI (or other) between your source and your target system, the more we have systems, the less it's efficient (in term of delay and response time!).
Even if we propose that the receiver application should have a condition to its script to avoid picking the tmp*.xml files, after a period of time there would be a chance that the *tmp files may increase in number..
No ! coz if my theory is good, if your receiver application does not pick-up tmp.xml, that means this file is not currently treated and so PI is authorized to delete it. So no increase of tmp.xml files in this folder.
Another solution: to create the target file without option "temporary", but to create it in another folder than this one scheduled by your receiver application, and use an OS command AFTER processing, in your receiver CC, which move the created file from the "temp" folder to the target folder.

  • Error in Receiver File Channel...in MTB module     (Urgent)

    Hi,
I am working on a Proxy to File scenario. I am using Message Transformation Bean in receiver file channel to convert xml file into fixed length file. I am getting an error : Transform: failed to execute the transformation: com.sap.aii.messaging.adapter.trans.TransformException: Error converting Message: java.lang.Exception: Exception in XML Parser (format problem?):java.lang.NullPointerException'; nested exception caused by: java.lang.Exception: Exception in XML Parser (format problem?):java.lang.NullPointerException

    Hi ,
"Transform: failed to execute the transformation:"
Pls check ur data what u have to send .. any missing information or any special Chacters or any extra fields are available in the data, this type of transformation error raised.
check once again ur mapping transformation and test the mapping in INTEGRATION REPOISTERY with the same data(what u have to send Previously).
and also check ur adapter status in RWB.

  • File not getting created in Target Directory..........

    Hi All,
We are trying a IDOC-File scenario & trying to create a XML file on the receiver side........All the mappings have been checked & everything is working fine.It shows success in SXMB_MONI. But the file is not getting created at the target directory..... Checked the component Monitoring and message  monitoring as well, which is also successful...
What could be the reason of such behaviour, and is there a way to track the where the target file is getting placed?

  • Empty files are getting created at receiver FTP server

    Hi Experts,
I have an Idoc to File scenario where I am sending an XML file to receiver FTP server.
Scenario is working fine but sometimes an empty file is getting generated at receiver FTP server.
I have already selected ignore empty file at receiver channel so issue is not within PI system configuration.
When I checked the message log I can see that almost all the files are getting created successfully without any issues, but
for some files/messages I can see that there are below error logs.
"Transmitting the message to endpoint <local> using connection IDoc_AAE_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: Could not get FTP connection from connection pool (1 connections) within 5,000 milliseconds; increase the number of available connections"
"Exception caught by adapter framework: Could not get FTP connection from connection pool (1 connections) within 5,000 milliseconds; increase the number of available connections."
And after there is again success message log in the same message and it creating a file successfully during that time stamp.
but the third party is sometime receiving empty file which I am not able to find in any trace or log (my file name is SD_timestamp.xml).
Can you please let me know what is the solution and what adjustments FTP server need to do in order to resolve this issue.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Rahul Kulkarni

The error you are getting that says "Could not get FTP connection from connection pool (1 connections) within 5,000 milliseconds; increase the number of available connections" has probably nothing to do with the empty files problem.
I second Hareesh Gampa that you first should try "temporary file creation". You might also need to tell the FTP owner that he should only pick up files with that are written completely and that do comply with a negotiated file name schema. The temp file should have another schema of course then. He should not pick up just every file that is written. See here for details

  • TWO SENDER FILE CHANNELS POLLING SAME DIRECTORY

I have a requirement to send a single file from a single FTP location to two different Target FTP locations as a passthrough interfaces. PI version 7.31
I thought of doing it through two different interfaces, both FTP to FTP keeping source same and destination differently
For First target (T1)Created dummy interfaces(Out/inbound) in ESR, created a configuration scenarion ,Sender and reciver FILE channels in ID, created an ICO.
For the second Target(T2) : can i use the same dummy interfaces as used in first while creating Sender channel?
can i use the same Sender channel as in first scenario to the ICO of  Interface for second Target(T2)--> it gave error, same sender channel(IF FILE) channel can't be used to different Sender Agreements/Integrated Configuration Objects. So i copied the sender channel with a different name and used it in second Interface.
Reciever File channel obviously different for both cases with different server details and direcories.
My fear is, if i can go with this set up as we have two sender FTP channels polling on the same FTP directory, so possibility of lock issue and channel are operational on a mapping of one hour(first one 8to10 and second one 9to12, so 9 to 10 both channles poll simultaneously).
Please suggest any better way of handling this, or to resolve the lock issue ?could clusterSyncMode=lock help here?

    Hello,
I think u are getting confused.
    >>My query was, if we could use two recievers(service) inside a single ICO, without giving any condition. Answer it please in YES or NO?
Yes, indeed u can do it.
IF YES, then how would  the message dynamically determine the correct/specific reciever out of the two recievers configured in ICO?
    >>Since u want to send same message to two different FTP servers so u don't have to worry about dynamically determining receivers. As soon as file sender adapter picks the file it will route the message to both the receivers and eventually send the same request message to two different FTP servers.
Hence i assume, for every file kept on source direcory, there would be two messages( 2 files) going to be created on two different targets? YES or NO?
    >>YES
    Thanks

  • Queue gets blocked in Receiver System . Pls advice urgent

    Hi All,
When I send data from CRM --- XI --- DM system
Whenever data comes at DM system everytime queue gets blocked and gets status "SYSFAIL".
Pls tell me how to solve this problem.
    Regards

1.You can use transaction codes SMQR and SXMB_ADM for queue status resetting.
2.Use transaction codes SMQ1 and SMQ2 for deleting SYSFAIL files, and manually resending messages in the queues.(For activating queues in SMQ1 and SMQ2, you would need to first deregister them in SMQR or SXMB_ADM).
3.As a pre-requisite, the IS configuration parameter MONITOR QRFC_RESTART_ALLOWED should be set to 1.
