File context menu disappears (in shared folder, if some files in it are bein modified)

Hi!
The problem is:
When I'm in Windows Explorer in shared folder on network drive (SMB), trying to open context menu for any file in this folder, it will show and then disappear in ~1 second, so I can't have time to select item in context menu, especially in any sub-menu!
It only happens if:
1) some (another) file is downloading in that moment to THIS shared foolder
2) some (another) file is editing by another user in that moment, or some log is writing by some software in that folder,
or archive is unpacking in that folder
and so on..

I haven't heard others have this kind of issue.
Please remove that network drive completely, and then follow below guide to re-map it for test:

Make sure the folder permission is the same as Windows XP.

I want to access the options in the context menu when clicking on a dropdown list in the bookmarks toolbar, but the context menu disappears when I try to click on one of the options. How can I keep the menu from disappearing?

I have several dropdown lists in my bookmarks toolbar and would like to access the properties for some of the the items. This used to work fine. However, now, when I go to the list and place the cursor on a particular item, the context menu that is usually available on a right click disappears when I try to access one of the options. This is the menu that begins with Open. What can I do to regain this functionality? I really need the information in the Properties section. I'm using Firefox 3.6.8

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
Also check the Mouse driver settings in the Control Panel.

What kind of bluetooh device are you using??
Did you try to plug again the card and make sure that the device is properly attached to the system??

Folder disappears in shared folder on mac 10.9

Hi there
A user has access to his desired shared folder on the network. He can view the top level folder and on the next level down he can see TWO folders but no more. He is expecting to see a lot more,
None of them have been moved by the owner of the folder or tidied up by anyone that has the correct permissions. Other users on both PC and MAC are able to see all the folders.
He is using 10.9.2 Mavericks.
SMB and CIFS have been tried to connect, neither rectify the issue.

Durin, forgive me for not replying right away.
I am only using the motherboard audio - an 898. It's the rampage iv extreme board and I'm only using the built in audio output.
Yes, i was closing the software to get the audio back on the lynda.com training video. The thing that gets me is how it was working for two days before this happened. 6 chapters worth of lynda.com training videos. That's several hours of work going back and forth from the video playing to the audition software playing. Nothing changed from one night to the next morning. The only thing I did was install an update to flash the day before and I may not have shut down the computer right away when it was done. But somewhere between late that night and the next morning, the audio got to this place where it would slowly start distorting very badly on the video and the volume would slowly drop. It seemed to always happen to the video first, then the audition software. But eventually the audio was completely gone on both until I shut down the audition software which would seem to reset the audio somehow on both the video and the software....for a bit.

Context Menu disappeared after EP7 upgrade

Hi all,
We've recently upgraded our sandbox and dev portals to EP7. Since then, we've noticed that in KM, the context menus that should be located to the right of the files/folders is missing. Actually, it would be more appropriate to say that they're invisible rather than missing because if I hover my mouse over the area where it should be, the mouse pointer changes. If I click on this area, the menu comes up.
Has anyone seen this problem before? What do I need to do to fix it?

Hi Stephen,
if you upgraded from EP6, please reimport old EP6 theme into EP7.
I and others had corrupted theme after the upgrade from EP6 to EP7.
The major bug is all web dynpros don't load ok.
Give this a try before modifying your theme.

In Thunderbird while trying to move conversation results to an archive folder; if some of the results are already in the folder it will not move any.

Hi. I often use the conversation search option when archiving my emails from inbox. I find this a very useful method of finding trails where I and multiple people have responded to each other. However If I have already moved one or more of these emails into the archive folder and select all to move, Thunderbird will not move any. I then need to individually select those that need to be moved.
Although not a major issue I use this regularly and often come across the problem. a recent fix which allows location tab to remain on in search helps but does not resolve this issue. A slightly annoying problem and I was wondering if any one else has this issue. Also is anyone looking into a solution?

FCPx answer: At least the answer that worked for me...
I had the same problem, as I believe many others had.
In my case the problem was with one of OSX Mavericks' new features: APP NAP.
It looks like this is ON by DEFAULT for ALL Applications and that FCPx, or Compressor for that matter, will not work if this is enabled on them.
I just disabled App Napp on FCPx and now it works, again, like a charm.

2.1.1 Problem with User Defined Reports with actions on the context menu

I use the User Defined Reports quite a lot, and export and publish these to other members of the team as Shared Reports. I'm also quite disappointed that there seems to be no further development in this area of SQL Developer.
One of the totally undocumented features of User Defined Reports is the ability to attach actions to a context menu, and pass data from the grid to a procedure, for example. Copying, then exporting the sessions report (from All Reports -> Data Dictionary Reports -> Database Administration -> Sessions) exposes the XML for adding actions to the context menu. The snippet for killing a session looks like this:

I'm not sure if the action of exporting the report adds to the number of times the context menu appears.
Warning - if you edit a report using SQL Developer, all the <item> tags are removed. Once you've added actions to a context menu, you can only edit the report by exporting it, modifying the XML and importing it again.
Has anyone else seen this behavior? Have you found a work-around?
To the SQL Developer team: Are there any plans to allow the adding of user defined context menu items to reports using the GUI in the near future?

You're right the context menu needs a GUI desperately. You can request this at the SQL Developer Exchange, so other users can vote and add weight for possible future implementation.

New Bitmap missing from context menu after installing photoshop

After installing photoshop CS6 from CD onto Windows 7x64; my context menu > New > bitmap is no longer available. registry settings are intact and I've used Bridge ro reassociate .bmp with mspaint but the option still does not appear. The installation of photoshop is the only change to the computer in several months.
I can workaround by creating new txt files and changing the extension but this adds a step to a (non photoshop related) workflow that's been in place and worked well for years.

I don't know why Photoshop would kill the system default entry for new bitmap - possibly because it has associated itself with that file type.
First thing to look at - start Adobe Bridge CS6, go into the Edit - Preferences - File Type Associations dialog, and see if you can re-associate MSPAINT.EXE with the BMP format. That may correct the issue, but I can't say for certain as I don't want to try it here and change my own setup.
I don't use the New context menu functionality for making new bitmaps myself, but when I looked to see what shows up in my New context menu, I found this:

If you can't recover the old functionality via the Bridge settings, it may be that you can install the freeware viewer IrfanView and have it associate itself with the BMP file type.

Trackpad lags after opening the context menu

The case: I use my trackpad to open the context menu. I do not choose a menu item. I just move the mouse over a different screen control. Example: Close-window. I click (left) once, the context menu disappears. So far so good. Now I click again. But nothing happens. The control is not used.
The hint: I move the mouse to somewhere different, click, and move back to the control. Now the control can be used immediately.
Some explainations:
Just moving the mouse away and back does not help.
The UI shows me, that OSX notifies that the mouse is over the control.
I'm using OSX 10.8.4 with a MBP mid 2010. The problem purchases me since some OSX updates.
It happens independent from the trackpad device. The internal one shows the same behavior as the magic trackpad.
A direction to solve:
I checked the behavior with different other Macs. It is localized to mine.
I've created another user account. The behavior does not occur.
So I suggest it is something about my account preferences. Switching on and off the different trackpad preferences does not help.
What can I do?

How to Enhance the Context menu in a Web Report

Gurus,
Scenario is to Enhance the Context menu in a Web template with some Custom Values. I found some notes in SAP.HELP but could not get thru it.
If anyone has added some Custom developed menu's in the Context menu, can you let me know as well.

Go TO last part of pdf there it is discussed with screen shot.You need to hav a query go to web template.and use the html tags to insert something into your context menu.

Unknown Server in Shared Folder

The other day, I had two computers appear in the shared folder of the finder. Both are labeled as pc servers, one named dorothy, the other anirban-pc, if that makes any difference. It doesn't seem to matter where I am, both remain in the list and I can't get rid of them. Any suggestions on how to remove these from the list?

I have the same problem, although the unknown server is shown as Kirsten Ashton's Public Folder. I went into my System Preferences and disallowed access by any network without my password approval. You'll also want to ensure that your 'puter is configured so that all network connections are revealed in your Finder. In my case, while that Kirsten server no longer appears in my Finder, it is listed in my "Recent" folder, so I need to get to the bottom of this.
Lord.Bouf, don't expect an answer from this forum. It doesn't appear to be supportive. I've posted on this forum, as have others, and have received not even an acknowledgement or attempt at response. You'd think a moderator could at least point you in a direction or have some knowledge of Mac Security or operation, in effort to support Mac newbies and keep them from switching back to Windows. Perhaps this forum is un-staffed or understaffed with moderators or skilled moderators. Whatever the reason, you're better off Googling your problem and going to those hits for answers. I wouldn't delay, especially with something like this.
There are numerous responsive forums which are very helpful. Virtualdr.com is one, as well as Cybertechhelp.com, techsupport.com, etc. Google "computer forums help" and I'm sure you'll find the info you need.

Modify Context Menu BI7.0

Hi,
I want to modify the context menu in the WAD, so that it includes SAVE rather than having this attached to a button.
I know I can modify the context menu in BW3.5 by using SAPBWAddToMenu and a combination of javascript and html.
I know in BI7.01 (EHP1) the option for SAVE, REFRESH etc is already in the context menu and it can be modified by using SAPbi_AddToMenu.
But in BI7.0, there is no help for modifying the context menu using javascript, this section doesn't exist.
We are currently on BI7.0 SP23, I have tried both SAPBWAddToMenu and SAPbi_AddToMenu, but both give errors in the webtemplate and the context menu does not work at all. It seems as though from BW3.5 to BI7.01 the option has been disabled.
Has anybody managed to modify the context menu of the WAD in BI7.0?
