File conversion, from .mpg files to useable files for iMovie on new MacBook

i wasnt really sure where to post this, but since my end goal is to be able to use all my videos for editing on iMovie it seemed like the best place, i have many .mpg files that i would like to simply convert to a file of equal quality that iMovie will recognize, theres pages and pages of converters on google but they either are trial versions that will leave water marks or there are websites that will only convert files up to 100mb, i just need a simple converter for the videos i have, i dont want to spend 50 bucks on software that ill only use once and i obviously dont want water marks or a decrease in quality, if anyone has any suggestions that would be great.

You do not need to use that option. There are two other options. If the RAW file has never been process by ACR then ACR would use your defaults for the cameras used no ACR dialog UI will display. 1: TimeMachine saves states of changes and thus requires more room on the TM drive than the boot drive it's backing up.

Quick answer if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the Option (alt) key (shift on Windows), then guide it to the new location of the library.

Why will CS4 not open DNG files converted from Olympus E-M1 raw files?

For several years I have been able to use the DNG Converter to convert .ORF raw files from my Olympus E-M1 and then open them for processing in CS4. Suddenly CS4 quit recognizing these DNG files saying "Photoshop could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this type of file"
I have not changed any preferences. I'm using E-M1 v3.0, DNG Converter v8.3.0.141 on a Mac. I have deleted DNG converter several times, even reinstalled an earlier version but nothing changes.
However, CS4 will open DNG files converted from Pentax raw .PEF files from my K-5. Weird. It's the Olympus raw DNG conversions that won't open.
I can view the DNG converted files in question in Mac's Preview just fine but not CS4. Any ideas will be appreciated.

Be sure the DNG Converter's compatibility is set to provide support for your version of ACR:

WLDL files exported from XI 2.0 not valid for Web Service Clients

Hi there,
Im struggling for almost a week with a BAPI WSDL file exported from the XI repository. My scenario is very simple; A BAPI in R/3 exposed as web service through XI using the SOAP adapter.
The intention was to generate a Web Service Client based on this WSDL file, unfortunately I get all kind of errors when trying to generate the client. (using tools like, SOAPScope, XML Spy and WebSphere Developer Studio none of this tools can validate the generated WSDL file obtained from XI)
Can someone Please explain me how/what exaclty do I have to do in order to expose my BAPI as Web Service in XI 2.0? Or Please tell me if this is just impossible in this version of XI.

Hi Rob,
It seems that when exporting to a WSDL file from the Repository, <service> and <binding> are missing from the structure.
A way to work this out is to either add them maually, or to create the WSDL from the Directory, using the Create End Point as Webservice in the Tools menu.
When you do that, consider a couple of things:
1. The message interface, by which you create the wsdl should be inbound. The message interface in the scenario should be outbound.
2. In the binding section, the produced url is of the intergration server, and you need to change it to that defined in the SOAP adapter configuration.

Raw File conversion to Tiff or Jpeg - best workflow for multiple files in Photo Shop Elements 11

Hello, I am pretty new to shooting in raw and Photoshop Elements (11). I have one big problem. Once I open Elements up and load the Raw files from the SD card it shows them all on the left side in Camera Raw. I make my contrast and color adjustments if needed, but then my problem starts: I do not really want to make any further adjustments in Elements itself, but in order to save my Raw files either as Tiff or Jpeg it seems like I need to - through clicking on the "open image". Now it only opens up that one particular photo. I did not manage to go simply back to Camera Raw to grab the next one as the screen just disappears. However, this one by one process is of course not the preferred way. I know that there is batch processing, but am also not sure if my adjustments that I did in Camera Raw will carry over as I am actually never saving anything and would like to avoid saving it before all manually as .dng files as it would just be another extra step. I hope I could make clear where I have problems and what I would like to achieve and hope you can help me. Many thanks in advance.

Simply select and edit each picture thumbnail from the left panel without clicking 'Done' or 'Open'.
When you have edited each individual picture, select all your thumbnails - click on the first one - shift click on the last one. They should be all highlighted.
Then simply click 'Done'.
Your edits are saved in sidecar xmp files.
If the thumbnails are not yet automatically updated, select the files, right click and choose 'Update thumbnail'.
No need to use the editor with 'Open as' if you don't want any further edit or jpeg/tiff/psd/png version.

I am not sure I have understood your question.
The above process lets you convert and edit a batch of raw files without opening the editor.
If you want to get jpeg or tiff files from the already edited raw files, either use the 'process multiple files' of the editor or the 'export' feature from the Organizer.
The common raw workflow in Elements consists in converting small batches as explained above to take advantage of applying common edits or individual differences. In some cases you want to open the editor, in others not.
That's at the input time.
When you want to output pictures, the selection of picture is different for each purpose. You'll include pictures edited in different batches, some still in raw format, others already converted in version sets to jpeg/tiff... For each output purpose, those selected pictures can be sent to the destination folder in the required format withoug opening the editor at that stage either using 'process multiple files' or 'export'.

Yes, although if you don't already have a backup on that Passport drive, you can just as easily use Migration Assistant to transfer your files directly from the Macbook. You would connect both computers to your wireless network (or wired to a router, if you have a Thunderbolt - Ethernet adaptor for the Air; this may be faster).

Hi Linc, I started setting up my new computer a few months ago so don't remember the details. I did not use migration assistant, nor do I wish to, I believe it was set up through icloud. Now that I needed my calendar while doing taxes I discover there are no events for 2014 and earlier (except 2 oddly enough). I do remember that iCloud instructions were not clear as to what would happen in the choices it gave.
I copied my old user files over from my external back up after my old computer stopped working, was hoping I could put ical folders in the right place to be used by Calendar or import somehow.

File conversion from text to CSV on present server without using GUI FM

Hi Folks,
This question may sound a bit weired but here it is. I have to convert a text file to csv using a SAP ABAP Report.
The file is located on the presentation server and I am using FM's GUI upload and GUI download to do the same as the number of fields change and we perform some operations on the data coming from the text file. Actually, the csv file is supposed to act as a source system for SAP BI.
Now my question is is there any other way by which we can do it without using the above function modules.

Hi,
You upload the Text file using GUI_UPLOAD and now you will have the records in the internal table and then use GUI_DOWNLOAD to download the file in CSV format.

Problem with file conversion from version 9.2.2 to version 10.1.0.71

Hello everyone.
I have a problem. In my database, i have a lot of artwork done with indesign 9.2.2. Since a while now I upgraded indesign and now I have the latest version 10.1.0.71 but I can't open my indesign artwork made with indesign 9.2.2.
When I try, a dialog box appear and says : " La conversion a échoué : les données du fichier ne correspondent pas aux données attendues".
What should I do ?

Ideally all files created in 9.2.2 should open fine in versions greater than itself.
Did you happen to have some 3rd party plugin in 9.2.2 which is missing in 10.1 ? That can be one of the reasons for such errors.
Are the files still opening in version 9.2.2? (assuming you still have 9.2.2)
If there are no 3rd party plugins involved you can share the file with us at [email protected] and we can have a look and figure out the cause of the problem.

Does anyone have a tool or have experience converting a free radius dictionary file to cisco acs radius format.

The key is to get all of the information needed. Normally when they say it takes too long for the client to answer that is not always the exact fault.
You may seem to get that answer if the ACS is taking a long time to process the request and the switch or client has basically timed out its requests.
The information needed is the following
all of these items really need to be gathered at the same time
switch debugs including
debug radius
debug aaa authen
debug aaa accounting
sniffer capture between the switch and the ACS
logs from ACS with debugs enabled.
If you are going to AD on the backend you may also want a sniffer capture between the ACS and the AD
all of these together should tell you where the delay of failure lays and then at that time some changes can be suggested

Conversion from CS3 to CS4 - closing files without saving

One more issue...
I'm making temporary changes to a book and a document so I want to close the documents without saving. This is what I'm currently using.

What seems to be happening is that the file is saved anyway. No Save As window opens. I've looked in the Object Model and it looks like CS4 uses the same syntax as for CS3. Any suggestions?

It looks like you're trying to add an existing CS3 document to a new CS4 book. InDesign wants to save the CS3 document in CS4 and so gives you the Save As dialog. You can either go through all the existing CS3 documents you'll be adding and save them out from CS4, or add a few lines to the script that will do it. (Change the variable name I used if it's used somewhere else in your script.)
