File/Directory Sharing With Team Members

Is file/directory sharing with team members going to be added or should I be using dropbox or some other utility to provide this functionality?    This would seem like a MANDATORY requirement for teams that are geographically dispersed such as mine.   Of course a versioning system on top of this would also be of great help.

  • How to share on CC with Team members and other problems

I had a CC for Team account, then got a deal to add seats at a discount, I added 2 more. I had to change my password and give a new e-mail address to get this deal. When I log in using my New ID all my files are gone. I log in with my Old ID my files and web sites are there no team members, added my OldID to the new Teams account and made me an administrator. Now when I log in with my OldID I can see my file and team members one of them is me with a new ID and the other is a client. I want to get rid of one of me I prefer the new one but I can't I can only delete the OldID and I lose my web site and all my files. Now the only reason I did this was to let my client see the files instead of selecting one page at a time and sending a link I thought they could go to their folder and look at the pages as they are being designed and edited. But there is no method to share with other team members. I re-watch the Max video but nothing they were showing is available in my team CC account. Can someone Help me out Please?

  • Is there a permissions system in Cloud Files for sharing with peers?

My organization is interested in migrating to Creative Cloud, and a large part of that would be to replace the generic online file storage system that we currently use to store assets and graphics files.  I understand that files belong to individuals, however my question is about sharing with a limited set of individuals...
For instance, if an employee uploads some assets received from a client, and these assets are needed by a team, but due to IP contracts it's important they aren't accessible to anyone else, is this possible using Cloud Files?
In addition, say a group of employees is working on a Photoshop file, and one person needs to make a change that everyone else needs before they may continue working on it.  Is it possible for one employee to lock the file so nobody else can modify it until the lock is released?
Thanks, I look forward to your answers!

This will be possible once improved sharing and collaboration are released. This will be soon by is not yet available. You will see several threads in the forums of customers requesting folder sharing. Folder sharing will be one part of it, but also there will be private sharing with specific individuals.
Currently you can only share individual files and the shared url is public.

  • LR5 on creative cloud - best way to share images and catalogs with team members

I want to establish a central image library of product photos.  I need team members to be able to see these images.  I have a CC account for teams.
Sould I creae a file repository in the Cloud and then create local LR catalogs for each person on their local machines...or can I also create a single catalog, stor it in the cloud and have everyone be able to open it locally?
There is quite a lot of contradictory info on this out there!
Any help or better suggestions, would be very welcome.
    Thanks,
    Andrew

Lightroom is not designed to be used by multiple users. A Lightroom Catalog can only be in use by a single user at any point in time. When a Lightroom Catalog is opened the program creates a  file with the catalog name and with a .lock extension. This file prevents any use of the Catalog file and will automatically be deleted when Lightroom is closed. See the screen capture.
To be specific a "Lightroom License" is a single user license so if there are more than one user, a license would need to be purchased for each user.
In addition the Catalog file cannot be resident on a network it requires a physical connect to the computer.
The actual image files can be on a network so that part should not create a problem.

  • Can we give UNIQUE ACCESS FOR THE SPECIFIC FILE IN THE LIBRARY in SP2013? How can we remove users from SHARED WITH link where files are shared with users?

    Hi,
    Any help on this?
    Thanks
    srabon

    Hi srabon,
For giving unique access for a specific file in a library, you can go to the library, and select the file , and click FILES->Shared With->ADVANCED, under PERMISSION ribbon, click ‘Stop Inheriting Permissions’, then the file will have unique permissions.
For removing the shared users for a file, firstly, like the above steps, select the file , and click FILES->Shared With->ADVANCED , make sure the file has unique access, then select the users that you want to remove, and click Remove User Persmissions
    under PERMISSIONS ribbon.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Wendy

  • File & folder sharing with privileges on my network does not work. What is wrong?

My Timecapsule is creating a network between my iMac with OS 10.7.5 and my Macbook Pro Retina OS 10.9.2. I am trying to setup a folder on my iMac with controlled access privileges to work as a server for others using the Macbook as a client. I followed different tutorials to the letter, but it did not work, I could not get the connection. Then I called the Apple help line. It turns out that just setting it up with a 'sharing only' account etc. in 'sharing ' in the 'system preferences' is not enough. One also has to set up the same priviliges in the 'get info' window of the folder directly at the same time...so a double setup. They could not explain properly why and there is no mention of this whatsoever in any tutorial I found on the internet. Anyway, I tried that and it still did not work. When I add the user in the 'get info' window and press enter, suddenly the user does not show up in the privilege box with the user name but instead a line saying something like "searching for user" and something small dudeling next to it......I called Apple again. After two agonizing hours on the phone where I was treated like an imbecile it turns out one has to somehow go through the address book ??? Why, I have no clue and how, I do not remember, but suddenly it worked.
Anyway, now two month later I had to add a new user account to my Macbook and I need to give it access to my server folder on my iMac. Well same problem again. I cannot remeber what we did 2 month ago an cannot call Apple, because my service period has expired. I tried myself and got the dudle in the folders 'get info' window again. Then by mistake I deleted myself as the only administrator account on the Imac from the access privileges to that shaered server folder. When I tried to put my account back into the folders privilege settings I got the same message and the dudeling thingy there too. Frustrated I thought it is best to just re-start the computer.......that was the end of it all: Now the startup window does not show my account name and icon anymore, just two lines to fill in the account name and password. The upper line has an arrow pointing left, the lower for the password an arrow pointing right. I filled in the account name and the password....the dudle circle comes and nothing happens, it seems to crash. When I click on the arrows the sign-in lines disappear, only the three buttons for going to sleep, re-start and turn off at the bottom are the only items left on the screen. I tried 10 times to no avail. This is turning into a nightmare!! My account is the only user account on this iMac.......
What am I doing wrong? Or what is wrong with my iMac?
Why is there nothing mentioned about these issues in the tutorials or anywhere else? Why do the tutorials say it is so easy, when even the staff on Apple's helpline cannot figure it out without having lengthy side conferences with their co-workers and managers???
Does anybody know what I have to do again with the address book to add this external 'sharing only' user account to the folder's privilege settings?
I assumme I have to re-boot my computer tomorrow and restore it from the Time Capsule. How do I do that? I cannot log in????
With the setup I had working for the last two month there were still issues with acces conflict to new subfolders and files inside the shared folder between me and the Macbook account user. I have read that the solution is to create a group and give the group access privileges to the folder. However, I could not find any details on the exact steps to follow. I need the exact steps, otherwise this will turn into the next nightmare. Where can I find this info.
I would really appreciate your help with answers and solutions to these complex issues
    Thank you

  • File & Printer Sharing with  Windows Vista

    Hi All,
I work in a small office, I'm the only mac user & I supply my own Macbook 10.5.6.
We have just had a new Samsung printer installed in the office which all PC's have been enabled for printer sharing, but I cant seem to get my Mac to pick up the Shared printer. I'm also trying to set up a folder on the main PC that I can send files to from my mac. The shared folder has been created on Windows Vista - but I'm unable to see that shared folder in finder. Could these 2 issues be related? please can someone help me make my work days just a little bit easier
    Thanks so much

I would like to add that I DO NOT want to share my laptop at all. It is my personal computer & if I can set up file sharing from my mac to the main PC on vista while still blocking any access to my computer.
I am currently following this procedure - http://www.ifelix.net/tech/3022.html

  • HT201238 Can extra storage be shared with family members on Family Plan?

no, unless the app has a sharing setting.

  • Sharing with others but only allow author and co-author to share the file with others

I have tested this option but have difficults to have the proper function.
If a co-author recieves a link to the document that the author has shared with him.
What is the mechanism that hinders this person to read that file that the co-author has send him.
I have been playing with myself in diffrent roles but running out of mail adresses and understanding.....
    Please give an explanation.
    regards

In the sharing dialog (where you enter the email addresses) there is a link at the bottom that says "More options". This is where you can adjust the re-sharing options. Default is "Everyone the file is shared with can share it with others (at their own role or lower). The other option is "Only let co-authors share this file with others."
After the file has already been shared you can change the sharing options by doing the following:
Select the file in the Acrobat.com organizer (files tab)
Select share file (either in the lower left of the window or select Share Document from the drop down menu)
Click on Change options at the bottom of the menu that slides up from bottom left
Co-authors have the same rights as an author and there is currently not a setting to prevent co-authors from sharing. If they do not need to have the same rights as an author, try changing them to a reviewer or reader and changing the share option to "Only let co-authors share this file with others."
You can find more information about the different roles here.
If I've misunderstood your question, please post again.

  • Onedrive for business: Shared with everyone issues

    I
We've SharePoint 2013 and OneDrive for Business (on-premises..)
When user put a file on "shared with everyone" OneDrive folder, other users can't view it... Any idea ?

    Hi  ,
According to your description, my understanding is that “Shared with everyone” OneDrive folder does not work in your SharePoint 2013.
For your issue, please check whether everyone has the permission of accessing “Shared with everyone” OneDrive folder.
You can go to your OneDrive -> My Documents. Click Sharing column of “Shared with everyone” folder, make sure it is shared with everyone:
    Thanks,

  • "file/directory info" of file .lnk

When i use "File/Directory Info" with a file .lnk, a local link, Labview attempts to gather info about the linked file. For example if i have "link to C.lnk", it returns info about C:\. How do i get info about the link itself, i mean the little .lnk file?

    Hi,
I'm not going to be able to solve your problem, but I just wanted to say I had a similar problem in the past.
While writing a recursive file tree program I wondered why one directory kept repeating itself.  I finally located a *.lnk file which was pointing to the parent directory.  Voilà.  LV kept looping thinking that there were ever-deeper directories there.
The only way I found of getting around it (apart from Windows calls) was to simply ignore *.lnk files........
Not great I realise but it's all I came up with at the time.
Another method is to create a small batch program to list the *.lnk files in a directory and parse the output to a file which can then be read and analysed.  Windows itself has no problems with lnk files.
    Shane.

  • Send email using "Shared with - Advanced" not working.

I have a problem when sending emails in a particular situation.
if I go to a doc library, then choose a file, click "shared with", then "advanced", then "Stop inheriting", then  "grant permissions to a user", and keep the email option checked, then click "share",
it does NOT send the email even though it assigns the permissions correctly.
but if i don't choose "advanced" and directly invite people, then it works and sends email successfully.
but I cant use the second method because it does not provide the "full control" option.

    Hi Ali,
I tested the same scenario per your post in my environment, however the email can be sent when using the first method in your post.
The method is used for granting item-level permission to the users, and it is similar to granting the permission to users in library level or site level.
I recommend to grant permission to a user in library level or site level to see if the email can be sent.
Please also double check if the Send an email invitation is selected.
    Best regards.
    Thanks

  • Can files shared via CC be viewed by team members using our locally installed Lightroom?

I recently purchased a Team subscription with seats.  We can share individual files and (thank you Adobe) at last we can share folders.
Is it possible to use the shared folders/files as a source for importing these shared images into Lightroom? I have not been able to get that to work as yet.
This is an essential need for team collaboration...Interestingly, I can accomplish this if the files are shared via dropbox or mediafire...but not via the Creative Cloud...
Any information from reliable Adobe sources/staff as to when this will be possible.
    Thanks,
    Andrew

  • How do I access other Team Members files on the creative cloud?

I have 4 other team memebers and we need to be able to share files and projects, but I am not seeing a way to do it. Could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

    Hi WRHS1,
As of right now a shared space amongst the team members is not available . As and when this functionality is introduced we would let you know and then you can take advantag of this . If you wish to see the data for rest of your team members they will have to share it through a link with you .
