File export size problem (PNG,JPG ....) - CS5

I am using trial of Adobe Illustrator CS5.
When ever I export file (RGB) to PNG or JPG format, there is size difference of 1px in width or hight or both.
But when I save that file with Save for Web & Devices option, then there is no such issue.
I have tested with so many files.
I didn't faced such problem with Illustrator 4.

I have looked all the option .... alignment, pixel grid , not frictional value ..... But still 1px difference.
Now I have switched back to CS 4. For while till problem not solved.
But there is issue. One more thing I am using Windows 7.

  • Adobe Assets: PSD export to image(PNG, JPG) crashes webpage

Firstly it is great that Adobe Assets was released so that it would be possible to view PSD files.
Have a PSD file opened in Adobe Assets on Google Chrome(Linux). I am trying to use the option of exporting the PSD to an image format, but the Actions -> Download -> PNG/JPG crashes the webpage.
Any workaround other than using Adobe Photoshop? I guess I can ask the creator of the PSD to export it.

I set up Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS using the iso image from here Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS (Trusty Tahr). Using either Chrome or Firefox I am able to download both a png and jpg image of a psd file from the private file one-up page.
First steps to try are rebooting the machine, and clearing all cache / cookies from the browser.
Next thing to try is to choose Actions > Download and from the Chrome Dev Tools for the download you should see:

  • File Export Renaming Problem

I want to export collections of files from Lightoom.
I want to rename the newely exported files, but I want to use the same file number suffix as the original file.
I also want to embed the oringal file name in the metadata of the newly exported file.
The problem is that, when I go into the File->Export dialog i.e. the "Filename Template Editor" the orginal  "file number suffix" is not showing up in what would be the newly created filename. The orginal file number suffix does not appear to be part of the metadata.
The current filename on disk does however have the file number suffix as part of the name.
However it does not seem possible to extract part of the current file name (i.e. the number suffix) on export.
If I rename the files using a number sequence then adding or removing a file will change the sequence on subsequent exports of the collection.
(Not something I want to do, since it would then be difficult to keep track of the images used originate the exported file, if I updated the collection.)
Renaming all my original files is not a viable option since there are too many of them and different exported files may be in more than one collection.
*Any suggestions as to how to get the file naming I want for the exported files, i.e. "placename-oringal file number suffix"?
(Given the file number suffix is missing from the metadata)
*Also I would like to include the existing file name in the metadata of any new file name.
Any suggestions on how to automate this?

    > Unless you check "minimize metadata", it should all be there.
No I have not checked this box.
    > Second, if you rename your files just before you Export (and not in the Export dialog, but actually rename them by batch
    > so the LR name is changed) you'll be able to link them up to the originals much more easily.
No this will not work.  My naming method is quite useful for me, but not useful for potential buyers.
When I export collections I want to simplify the names.
    > Third, the rename editor is pretty flexible.
Yes I know, usually it is sufficient, but in this case it does not do what I want.
    > Finally, all the metadata is there, and searching is much easier via it rather than a complex naming convention
    > (not that it's so complex, but getting there may be.
Not sure I completely agree here.  My naming method works quite well for organising images and for processing and so on.
Now since I have collections spanning multiple directories and so that I want to export the files with a simplified filename.
I expected to be able to do this using the file name editing template.
The BreezeBrowser renamer is much more flexible than the Lightroom filename template editor, so I may end up using that.
However it will be messy and add a few extra steps. i.e. export to a new directory using the existing filename.  Then use Breezebrowser to rename the files by extracting the "file number suffix" from the original filename and making sure there is sufficient information in the new filename to create a one-to-one mapping.  Then upload the new files to the website.
I stil don't see how to get the original file name into the metadate of the new filename though?l
Really I should be able to do all this in Lightroom.

  • PHOTOSHOP CS5 file saving name question (.png .jpg)

    Hi,
If I open a new file and go to save it the extension names show up (.jpg or .png). However, if I open an illustrator file in Photoshop and try to save it, the extension names are not there (it's saving them as the proper format, but I want the files to have the .jpg or .png in the name without me typing them in myself).
Anyone know why this is or how I can fix it?
(I tried flattening the image first. I made sure the file is in 8bit mode. I made sure the image is a RGB file too. But still, the extension part of the name (.jpg) is not showing up). Sometimes, it works for certain .ai files, but others it doesn't. Yet, they appear to be the exact same file type. I tried restarting Photoshop and restarting the computer. Still, for certain files it doesn't work.
    Please see attached picture.

No, the fly window isn't hiding the file names.
For some reason, it seems to be only occurring to a set of files that I have in a certain folder. I believe I saved all these illustrator files the same way as other files (that are working properly - meaning the file extensions names are coming up for them).
Not sure why its just hiding the extension name on these certain files....?

  • Illustrator CS6 DWG export also creates PNG/JPG Rasters?

Why does Illustrator CS6 create a bunch of raster images (PNG or JPG) files when I export to DWG? There's no way to turn it off, is there? This is stupid.

Also, they changed the way DWGs are exported, from CS5, again. It was working fine before, now not only does it add an array of raster images, it's buggy as hell. I get some lines but not others. I don't see any rhyme or reason to it, yet. This is really frustrating. My art is not complex at all.

  • Premiere Pro CS3 - Advice on file export size?

I recorded a 2 hour TV documentary onto a DVD-RW, and I ripped it using Any Video Converter. The ripped file is a 720x540 Xvid AVI, and it is 1.6GB. I then edited the programme down to 20 minutes in Adobe Premiere Pro CS3. I then exported the 20 minute video to AVI, video compression MC_DVD, and the file is 4GB in size. Obviously it makes no sense that the 2hr video should be 1.6GB and the 20-minute video should be 4GB. Is there a way I can export this video (either using the Export option, or the Adobe Media Encoder, I don't mind which) to a reasonable file size, without losing video quality? Unfortunately the picture quality of the united rip isn't brilliant anyway, so I really don't want to lose any more picture quality, but there has to be a reasonable size that I can get the video down to.

It's actually not legal for you to be doing this, so it would be unethical for anyone here to help you do it.

  • Indesign CS5 with PNG file exporting as a PDF file but the text is random bold

    Hello,
I am looking for help to teach me how to solve this problem.
I use Indesign CS5 to make a proposal. I set the page marker and sub title in the master page.
Of course, there are including dozens of pages and some pictures here.
And one of these page, I place a PNG file and type some text.
When I export this file as a PDF file, one page, which is including PNG file, the text becomes random bold.
Therefore, I have used PSD file to cover the PNG file. But finally getting the same problem.
So does anyone can help me how to solve this problem?
Thanks so much for your help.

This sounds like a known issue with transparency on the page. When transparency is introduced ID uses a differnt method, apparently, of rendering text on that page and it appears bolder on screen and can print that way on low resolution devices like desktop printers. It usually is not a problem on press output.
The only way to mainatian consistency would be to introduce transparency on all pages, perhaps by adding a transparent object to your master page.

  • Hi. I'm using illustrator cs6 on pc. I've made a scientific figure for a paper and now I'm trying to export as a png or save for microsoft office. Despite my figure being in the middle of my artboard, it always comes out bottom left in the png file or jpg

Hi. I'm using illustrator cs6 on pc. I've made a scientific figure for a paper and now I'm trying to export as a png or save for microsoft office. Despite my figure being in the middle of my artboard, it always comes out bottom left in the png file or jpg. Must be making a school boy error! Please help!

In similar cases, my solution is to "select all" then "deselect" only the artwork I want to keep and "delete". If I'm curious I may "cut" then "paste" to see what shows up in the center of the screen. it is usually some stray point. or other element out direct sight.

  • Using LR and DxO in work flow.. file size problems

    Hi,
Does anyone have experience with using both DxO and LR in their work flow that can help me with the following problem?
DxO takes my NEF and creates a DNG optically corrected. Great. Now I should just import these DNG files into LR and be on my way.. except that it seems to use Linear DNG rather then mosaiced and the file sizes are through the roof. My 10mb NEF file is converted into a 30mb DNG. Trying to reconvert using LR has no effect. If I start working with images in this size I will immediately see all my storage space cut by a third from the point of view of the number of images stored.
Has anyone found a way to work around this problem? I tried to use the adobe DNG converter to reconvert the images but it can go from mosaic to linear but not linear to mosaic. Turning on compression has no effect implying it is already a compressed DNG. Trying to zip the files also fails to have an effect.
I am really bummed out.. and wish I had paid more attention to file sizes during my trial.
Right now I am leaning toward only using DxO for a few special images and doing the rest entirely in LR.. but that really defeats the purpose of what I thought would be a great one two punch.
    Thanks,
    Chris

    David,
The output preset you're using must have TIF enabled. Either edit it to remove the TIF option or create a new JPG-only one if you want to keep the option of exporting to both in the future.
I can't be more precise as I'm currently away from home and the DxO installation on my laptop has decided to deactivate and revert to time-expired demo mode, meaning I can't actually open the app!
    [Edit]
Okay, sorted now.... In the DxO Optics Pro "Process" module, under the "Options" section you'll see "Output Formats". There should be one called "Default Output" which outputs to JPG. Ensure that the checkbox next to it is checked and that any others are disabled (unchecked). Your images will now only be exported after processing as JPGs. If you click the "X" next to an output preset you can delete it if no longer required.

  • Problem with export size @ Premiere CS3

Hello, I have a problem that until recently did not bother me so much and that the final export @ the premierCS3 ( also @ CS4 and CS5 )
The films I make are 5-10 minutes long, so usualy the final size is big, but still not THAT BIG! and i can work with this size.
Lately  I've edited a feature film and the final export is 25GB and it simply  intolerable that even after encodings using simple software I got to 7Gb and quality went down significantly.
How do I solve this trouble? I do not think that movie that long (1h:45m) should be bigger than 1GB!!
    Hope you can help me
    Wishing you a good week,
    ROEi.

Go to the PPro FAQ List http://forums.adobe.com/community/premiere/faq_list and read about export options
A DV AVI file is about 13Gig per hour... export size is determined by the CODEC and compression used, plus the data rate
Some CODECS have better compression than others, and a higher data rate will create a larger file
You need to tell what CODEC you are using for export, and what data rate

  • FCP - Massive file size problem.

So I've been exporting out a 21min sequence out of fcp 7.  In past edits and on the same project file, the export has been fine, rendering out at a healthy 6gb.   But recently the final file size has become 29gb.  This is obviously not right.  My question is, what is going on and how can I fix it?
The only thing that has changed is I've done a color grade (from Color).  So some of the files are different,  but the new color graded clips aren't any bigger than the origianl ones, so I don't think thats the problem.
Another random thing that happend is:  When exporting I give the file a name, e.g. Helloworld   And I select show file extension.  The weird thing is when it's completed its export, the file name then becomes Hellowordmov.mov   I have not idea where that extra mov is coming from, (and it doesnt appear when I select show file extension).  What is going on here?
Below are my sequence settings.  I chose File -  Export -  Quicktime Movie...  And keep it on Current Settings.
    Any help is much appreciated.

The Digital Rebellion Video Space Calculator shows 28.23 GB.

  • Batch export .ai to .png produces files without extension - please help

I created an Action to batch export a folder of .ai files to create 300dpi .png's of the .ai file's artboard. I did this by simply recording "Export...as png" with my desired settings then Batch running the Action on desired folder of .ai files.  The files were successfully exported, the trouble is that the exported files lack a .png file extension. My intent is to take these PNG files and
merge them into a single PDF using Acrobat Pro. Unfortunatly, without the .PNG extension, Acrobat Pro does not recognize the file types and does not let me use the Combine Files feature on them. Going back and manually adding a .png at the end of the exported files defeats the time-saving purpose of Batch Processing all together. Is there something I am missing or doing incorrectly? I have included screenshots of 1) My Batch Action settings 2) folders showing files without .png extension and 3) visual of what I see when I am trying to combine PNGs into a PDF. Assistance would be greatly appreciated!
    - Erin

Yes, I am on a Mac running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 with CS5 (Illustrator 15.0.2, Acrobat Pro 9.4.6). Your suggestion did not help as "Hide Extension" is not checked. I even set "Open With" to Acrobat Pro and still get no extension or ability to import into Combine in Acrobat. Thanks anyhow. Please see below.

  • RAW files exported to PS CS5 from LR2.7 LAG DOWN CS5

I recently installed photoshop cs5 and have been using it with lightroom 2.7 and lightroom 3beta.
The other day I downloaded and installed adobe camera raw 6.1.  now every time I export a raw file into cs5 for editing, I get EXTREME levels of lag when I try to use filters like smart sharpen or surface blur.  I checked my CPU performance, and it spikes to %99 CPU usage while CS5 tries to apply a smart sharpen filter.
When I export files into cs4, I have no problems applying these filters.  They're fast and quick.
When I directly import a raw file into CS5 using photoshops raw converter, I dont experience this lag running filters at all.
So i'm concluding that the ACR6.1 update is somehow incompatible with lightroom 2.7 when used in conjunction with photoshop cs5.
    can someone please help!?
I use lightroom exclusively for my photography workflow.

    I suppose that would help...
    thanks for the response:
    2 x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
    16 GB 1066 MHz DDR3
    Crucial 120GB SSD
scratch disks 1TB  7200rpm, 3 x 300GB 10,000rpm raptor drives (I store my raw files and edit them from this drive)--it's a raid 0 array
i'm running lightroom 2.7, as well as lightroom 3beta
photoshop cs5 running in 64bit mode.
the RAW files are canon raw .CRW  files from a 5D mark II, approximately 22MB.
i'm exporting them at 300DPI into cs5 from lightroom.  I'm letting lightroom do the converting.
with ACR6.1 installed, any raw or tiff file i export from lightroom into cs5 causing cs5 to lag down in general, and experience extreme lag when i apply filters like smart sharpen and surface blur---under the utility manager, it appears that the CPU is at %99 usage when these filters are being applied--hence the lag.
I reintalled cs5, but didn't install acr6.1 this time.  the problem has been solved, at least as far as I can tell.
so my conclusion is that ACR6.1 doesn't work with lightroom.

  • Why does File- Export process jpgs where I have made no changes?

Hi, I'm new to Lightroom.  I would like to make LR my photo management software of choice for managing my huge personal collection of photographs.  I've flagged keepers and tagged photos accordingly: Food, people names, etc.
What I would like to do now is find all photos marked with the tag "JapanVacation2009" and export them to disk so I can bring them to a friend's house and share them.  When I click File->Export, I see that even though I've make tone and exposure changes to less than 1% of my my photos, LR reprocesses every photo!
What I want is that for photos where I have made some kind of change, yes, please process and create the new version of the photo.  For photos where I have made no change except for adding tags, please, please, just copy the file into the export directory!!! It's faster AND I really didn't want my photos reprocessed.
I am sitting here waiting for these files to be exported (reprocessed)-- this is taking forever!  I generally take my photos in jpg because I'm really going to make very few changes to my photos-- I know that I could take them in RAW, but I find this inconvenient for my workflow.
Please help. If I can't find a resolution, I'm going to have to investigate something like Picasa.
LR gurus, what do I do???

Folders are irrelevant to LR as an organisational tool. LR will search, create collections or smart collections based on whatever criteria you set.It is a very quick and effective organisational tool once you have learnt how to use it.
When exporting from LR to a lossy format such as a jpg if the file is already compressed and you re compress it then this will result in further loss of quality. That is always the case when using JPGs. If you export at 100% ( no further compression) then no loss of quality will occur due to compression, but obviously re processing a processed 8 bit format such as a JPG will always result in some quality loss. If you have made no changes to the original JPG in LR and then export it at 100% then LR just produces a copy of the original and no loss of quality will occur.  JPG should really be treated as a finished format and no further processing applied. If you wish to process your images then retain the RAW file, or if scanning, scan to a 16 bit file such as TIFF to minimise any quality loss as a result of processing.
Exporting times are very quick from LR as long as your machine is well set up and has enough RAM. 600 images with few changes dependent on the size of the image would only usually take a few minutes to export to a disk dependent on the speed of the disk. Obviously if you are exporting to a slow hard drive, to things like DVD's and CD's, have little RAM or lots of other applications running in the background this can slow things down, there are lots of tips around here and elsewhere on how to set up your computer to get the best out of LR.

  • Original size Raw to JPG export not exporting correct size

I'm having a problem with the export of RAW to JPG at original size. I have raw images of 4941 × 3295 (125mb), when I export selecting "JPEG-origional" size I get resulting jpg's of 800 x 533 (95kb)
    If I select JPEG-50% of original size I get correctly exported images of 2471 × 1648 (589kb)
Why would the original size export not work?

Have you checked the "JPEG original size" preset? Select the preset on export, then switch to "Edit" and see, what is selected. Sometimes this preset is redefined to a smaller size.
When you edit the preset, the "Size To" pop-up should be set to "Original size". If it is not, set it back.
