File format is invalid

I am in current version of BI in E Business Suite (shows admin tab). This is for a check printing solution which I have done previously in the older version of BI. When creating my data definition and try to add my xml file, I get an error message that the file format is invalid and should be in XSD format. What is the easiest way to create an XSD format from my current XML file format? Thanks in advance for your help.

As requested here are my steps:
First in Sys Admin
Changed Concurrent Program APXPBFEG to XML as File Output
Next in Payables Manager Responsibility
Create a Payment Batch
Saved the XML output file created
Swith to XML Publisher Administrator Responsibility
Go to Data Definitions Form
Click Create Data Definition
Entered a Name
Entered Code as APXPBFEG
Application is Payables
Start Date
Click Apply Button
Click XML Schema Add File Button
Click Browse
Select XML File saved from Payables Payment Batch
Click Apply
Receive error message that file format is invalid. Must be in XSD format.
Look forward to see where I may have went wrong. Thanks again for your help.
Also, how can I tell what XML version I am using. I believe it is the most recent since it has the Admin Tab. Like to verify anyway.

That extension identifies the most current Excel file format, a format that can be opened by Numbers '09 (and by Numbers '08).
A check with Numbers '09 shows it capable of opening .xlsx files when right-clicked (and Numbers chose as the application to open, when double-clicked (if Numbers has been set as the default application to open this type of file, or when dragged to the Numbers icon in the dock.
I see two possibilities for Numbers inability to open it and the message you receive:
1. The file is not actually an Excel file, and the sender has added the .xlsx extension to the filename manually.
2. The file is an Excel file, but has somehow been corrupted.
Have you tried opening the file with a different application? The open source Office suites, OpenOffice.org, LibreOffice and NeoOffice can also open .xlsx files. If they're unable to open this one, that would point toward the file itself being faulty. You can download these applications from their rspective websites, linked in the names above. All request a donation to support future development, but only Neo requires one to have been made recently, and that only for the current release (which won't be necessary to open .xlsx files).

After the Numbers 2.2.1 iPad app update, my spreadsheets won't open as it says the file format is invalid

I have been using the 1.4 version of Numbers for some time on my iPad. After updating to the 2.2.1 version, my files can no longer be accessed as when I click to open them they display the message "Spreadsheet can't be imported - the file format is invalid". The files will not upload to icloud, send, copy or open in another app. Can anybody help?

Try this. It worked for me.
I discovered the same problem. I had an older version of Pages on my iPad. After updating it to the latest version all my previous documents created in pages for the iPad were rendered unreadable and a message stated that they were an invalid format. Why for the life of me would a program that was created by Apple and sense updated not be able to read previous versions...well that's a whole other sad story. Any way I discovered how to fix it but it would require that you had backup your iPad on a computer and not emptied your trash. If this sounds good than here is how you fix it... And it worked for me.
These steps will enable you to reinstall a previous version of the Pages app so you can be able to read and edit older documents.
FIRST: if you did backup your iPad using your computer and did not empty your trash, GOTO the trash and look for PAGES 1.4 (or other number) ipa ( that's the file extension) ie PAGES 1.4 ipa.
SECOND: move that file out of the trash and onto your desktop. Once you do this, double click on it and a box will come up stating a newer version has been found and do you want to revert back to older version. ANSWER YES. It will than automatically place and overwrite the older version back into the file on iTunes that contains the rest of your backed up apps.
THIRD: and this is where it is important that your backup would have to have been on your computer. I'm not sure if backup on the cloud will work. iCloud backup at your own risk And here's why. Before you restore you will need to remove the latest version of Pages off your iPad by doing the usual : holding down the home button until the apps wiggle and remove by pressing on X on app. Removing off your iPad will also delete all your documents but if you have a previous backup on your computer those documents will be stored safely on itunes and will return.
FORTH: plug your iPad into your computer and allow it to sync so iTunes will recognize it. Once iTunes is up and you can see that it recognizes your iPad, GOTO "FILE/DEVICES/RESTORE FROM BACKUP." ******* DO NOT CLICK ON BACKUP***** click on RESTORE FROM BACKUP. This will reinstall all previous settings and documents that were their when you backuped PLUS the older version of Pages that you placed back from the above steps. Let it run through all the setups ( this could take up to 20 minutes...depending on amount of data and photos and apps).
FIFTH: Once everything is reinstalled a message will popup on your computer stating "to leave iPad plugged in until iTunes recognizes it again" ( it's basically rebooting itself). Once done (leave iPad plugged in still) GOTO iPad and follow the steps. IMPORTANT: iPad will ask you if you want to SET IT UP AS A NEW IPAD, BACK UP FROM THE CLOUD or BACK UP FROM ITUNES.....press SET UP AS NEW IPAD. Follow all of the steps required. Once complete GOTO iTunes on computer, look for "IPAD" plus a little arrow ( should be on upper right corner of iTunes window, click on it ( this will safely disconnect your iPad from iTunes) . Now unplug iPad from computer and go to your iPad and look for the older version of Pages. It should be there along with all your old documents ( readable and editable too).

IWork export to Office error "The file format is invalid" in pages, keynote and numbers.

I am running iWork 09 (latest versions in all cases)*. When I try to export files from all three of the applications Pages, Keynote and Numbers into the relevant Office formats, I get the error "The file format is invalid." It works fine with PDF or RTF export.
I am able to open the same files in the iPad versions of thess iWork apps, and then export them. While this workaround will do for now, I'd like to be able to just export correctly.
Anyone have any suggestions on what might be wrong?

IWeb 08 error message "The file format is invalid"

I have been reading all of the problems regarding publishing iweb pages at the moment, I too cannot publish my site but I get a different error message
"The file format is invalid"
Can anyone help as to why I might be getting this message?
My iDisk seems to have a very old version of my website stored and I don't know where to look to find the current versions files?
Why hasn't iDisk got the most up to date version of my iWeb site and how do I get it to have?
Which folder on the iDisk should your iWeb files be stored in?
Sorry to ask so many questions but I am new to the publishing part after spending weeks building a site only to find it I get an error and my iDisk file structure holds old files.

When I opened iWeb I could see the most up-to-date version of my site, I could edit it and save it (to where I don't know). When I opened the web and sites folder on my iDisk it contained only the files from a previous version of my website created months ago.
I tried looking for the Domain file for my iWeb site and looked in my home folder, application support and then iWeb but the iWeb file in App support was empty.
I believe the iWeb file in App support is where the Domain file should be located, correct?
I have used Time machine to go back a week and have located the domain file and have restored it. The domain file now sits in the iWeb folder in App support in my Home, where it should be.
Now when I load iWeb I see the version of my website that was created a week ago which is fine but iDisk still has the old file structure of my site from months ago.
Can I delete the old file structure completely from the Sites folder on my iDisk? this should remove the old version of my website shouldn't it?
How do I get the restored version of my website to appear in iDisk?
Do I simply copy the Domain file into the sites folder on iDisk?
My iWeb files on Mobile me are also the months old versions, how do I update these so my new site is all that I can see?
Any answers to my 'File format' problem when trying to upload, is it because I don't have my iWeb files in the correct places?

"The File Format is Invalid" whenever I try to open a Word File

Pages 3.0.2 consistently returns the 'format invalid' error when I try to open .doc files. These are mostly of kind Microsoft Word 97-2004. I get the same result whether I try to open the file from within Pages or drag the file to the dock icon (running or not) or even if I change the file properties to open it with pages. Opening a .doc file in TextEdit yields only gibberish, so that avenue is not open either.
This is a new MacBook Air I'm setting up for my wife who wanted something lighter for the road, which required over a Gigabyte of upgrades right out of the box. At least Pages will run, unlike Word for Mac 2008, which after an upgrade aimed to fix an issue where Word quits 'unexpectedly' when one opens or uses the program still fails to start up. This means that I have no chance to re-save files until my wife returns with her old iBook G4 with a functioning copy of Word 2004.
Short of installing OpenOffice* does anyone have any suggestions for 'unlocking the functionality' of Pages?
*Next on my list, though I've used it and find it emulates Word all too well in sluggishness.

what version of java is displayed when you go to https://www.mozilla.org/plugincheck/ (it should currently be java 7 update 45 - if not try to download it again from java.com).
if java plugin content isn't playing despite you have allowed it from the icon in the address bar please also make sure, that you're not using an addon like noscript, adblock or others that might also block such content & you may need to accept all security-related messages that come from the java plugin itself...

Export error in Pages-"the file format is invalid" (Mavericks)

Hi there,
as I have seen in prior discussions, this error has already been an issue in 2011, but the solution won't work any more, as the link is dead While the export still worked yesterday, it has ceased doing so today. The only exporting format affected seems to be .doc (PDF works fine). Thanks for any help! This is really annoying when you have urgent deadlines to meet >:(

File format invalid when opening a word document

Hi there,
I have been sent a batch of Word and PDF documents, which when I try and open on my Macbook they all come up with the message 'The file format is invalid'.
I have previously been sent word and PDF files, and had no problem opening them. I have used the Help resource, and followed the instructions about dragging the file to the Pages icon etc, but the same error message comes up.
What could be wrong? I think that the version of Word is 2007.

As far as I know, Pages was never able to open PDF files.
By default, this task is dedicated to Preview.
M…oSoft created so many file formats that I'm not really surprised by what yo describe with Word documents.
Would be a good idea to download and install the free LibreOffice from :

Windows Media Player file format invalid

I'm running Mac OS 10.3.9 and the latest Windows Media Player 9.0.0. Sometimes when I try to open Windows Media Player files (.asx) people send me I get "Cannot play back the file. The file format is invalid." How can I get these files to play?
Or is there another Mac application that will play these file (.asx) file formats?

Crashed, file won't open, "Invalid File Format"

working in DVD SP 4, program crashed, and now I can't open my file. I get a "Invalid Project File Format" error when I try.
I've done some searching on here, and tried a few things I've found (making a copy of it, changing some stuff in the resource folder, etc) but nothing is working. Any ideas? I don't have a back up of this and it's got a lot of subtitling.

Highlight the file within the workspace, click the down-facing arrow that appears to the right of the file name and choose 'Download'.
Once the file has been downloaded to your computer, open it within the appropriate application.
I suspect that the file you may be referring to is a PDF, but that it's an XFA file. This type of PDF, often created from LiveCycle Designer, cannot be previewed within Workspaces.

I am using the Eclipse 3.1 and Oracel BPEL designer 0.9.13
After I created a new BPEL process (named: trybpel), I got the following output in the console:

Invalid file format ASCII

Hi All,
I'm having trouble with workflow standard attachment.
When i run sbwp, goto inbox then i attach .jpg file into one of pending items.
Suddenly SAP show error message "Invalid file format <> ASCII".
But it's work for .TXT file.
Somebody tell me why it's happen plz, or can't sap attach other file type except .TXT? or is there something wrong with standard setting?

I already tried it. It works as well.
My next problem is when i try to display the .jpg attachment the sap pop a window with messages:
1. Switch to the window of your PC application to
   display the document
2. Close your document.
3. Press "Continue" in the R/3 window.
but none of JPG application can come up.
What should we do?
