File format plug-ins not working

I cannot get any of my file format plug-ins working with 5.1.  They were working fine with 5.0.  I am using some of the plug-ins here but none are working since I upgraded.

Is there anyway to check whether Photoshop has even recgonized these plug-ins?  There doesn't seem to be anyway to scroll in the about screen in photoshop to check there.

Thanks!  Ok, I'm getting "NO VERSION - 32-bit plug-in not supported in 64-bit" for those plug-ins.
Is there any workaround?

  • Nik Software Plug-ins not working with LR3

    Hello,
I have both LR 2.7 and LR3 running on my computer.  When I installed LR 3, it load the Nik software plug-ins into the external editor section like LR 2.7.  However, when I try to use a Nik plug-in in LR 3 I get an error message that the " File xxxxx.tif can not be opened because it does not exist or access is denied."  The Nik interface opens, then I get this error message, but then it places the xxxxx.tif file in the film strip.  The plug-ins work just fine with LR 2.7.  I've uninstalled and re-installed the plug-ins, but the same error message pops up in LR 3.  I have contacted Nik Software, but have not gotten an answer that works.  Has anyone else had this problem?  If so, what was your solution.  I've tried everything I know of except uninstalling LR 3 and re-installing.  I'm using Windows 7 64bit.  I have CS4 (32 and 64bit) and CS5 (32 and 63bit) running and the plug-ins work just fine with them.
Thanks for your help in advance!
    Dennis

    Hi Martin,
You might try going in the pref and under external editing and try to manually set up each one.  Go down to additonal external editing.  Click on Choose and then go to the folder where you have your Nik software installed and choose the program file.  There will be dialog box telling you to name the file, call it anything you want and the click ok.  Go to the drop down bar and select Save as new preset.  Close LR3 and then reopen and check to see if your program is there under the new name.  If not, you probably will have un-install all the plug-ins and re-install.  Hope this helps!

  • Writing Import and FIle Format Plug-Ins for Photoshop CS1

    Hi All,
I have written two plug-ins (Import and File Format) which work fine using CS2. Unfortunately we need to be able to have them work in CS1 too. I downed the "Adobe Photoshop CS SDK" but when when I looked at the API document ("Photoshop API Guide.pdf"), chapters 6 and 9 are missing and there is no sample code for these plug-in types.
Could anyone explain why this is?
How do I write these types of plug-in's for CS1?
    Thanks for your Help
    All the Best
    Dave

    I have published
GPL source code to many plugins all of which are compatible with Photoshop 3.0 through CS2, on Windows and Mac. Unless you are using CS2 specific features, the your Import and Format DLLs should already work with CS on Windows.
On the Mac, the executable format changed between CS and CS2, and you would need to build a PEF plugin for CS. MPW and CodeWarrior can do that; Xcode cannot.

  • Garage Band and other Plug-Ins not Working

My Garage band isn't working. When I click on it the icon just bounces continually and never does anything. It was working fine yesterday. I also have a couple plug-ins, KORG M1 and Wavestation, that I use with Garage band and they are doing the exact same thing. Why am I having these issues??

There's no Auval or RA or Garritan Personal Orchestra in the Audio Units Manager in Logic Pro. Though Stylus RMX that I also use and Kontakt Player 2 are there and successfully validated. The RA and Kontakt Player component are exactly in the place you said they would be.
I've since discovered that RA does not in fact work in Logic Express. As for whether it's loading up in Rosetta or PPC version - how do I tell that?
I really appreciate your help but I'm still stuck at square 1. Any more suggestions?!!

  • Plug ins not working after upgrade

After upgrading to Mtn Lion, addicitive drums plug ins are not recognized in Logic. They are working fine in garage band.

Sorry I'm unsure! Have you had any progress with it?

  • Are photoshop file format plug-ins supported by the InDesign SDK?

If not, is it possible to read new file formats into InDesign? Thanks,
    Rob

I'm trying to import NITF image files. I already have a photoshop file format plugin that can read these images and was hoping that it could (somehow) be used to import images into InDesign as well. It appears as if this is definitely NOT possible.
My use case is that I'd like to read a NITF image into Photoshop. The images I deal with are typically single channel 16 bit images. I'd like to then use Photoshop to process the image (e.g., brighten certain parts of the histogram and/or crop the image). I'd then like an easy way to get the image into InDesign. My initial thought was to use a function that could just pass it over, but it appears as if that is not possible.
It looks like I'll either have to figure out if cutting/pasting is acceptable and, if not, save the image to disk and re-read it. Next I must find answers to these questions:
    a) Does the InDesign's SDK API provide the ability add to the list of supported image types that can be imported?
    b) Does InDesign's SDK API provide the ability to create new document save types?
    c) Does it make any sense to use a 16 bit/channel image in InDesign? I notice that it can read a 16 bit tiff file, but there doesn't appear to be any photoshop like controls to adjust the visible dynamic range.
Thank you all for your help!

  • AU Manager Crashes, Standard 3rd party plug-ins not working

I recently had a huge crash, down to the point where I eventually replaced my system drive with a brand new one, and started fresh.
After rebuilding my entire world, plug-ins that used to work, don't anymore - and they're standards that everyone uses (Kontakt 2.1, etc). I can't even get the AU Manager to load.....Logic just sits there forever with "the beach ball of death" untill I force quit.
Nothing "new" has been introduced. I've simply replicated the system I had before down to the T.
    Any thougts?
    I'm on 7.1.1 in 10.4.4
    G5 2x2, LAP 7.1.1, 10.4.2, 4.5 gigs

Try removing all 3rd party plugins and see if Logic works by itself.
Add the plugins back to the components folder one by one, testing to see if they behave.
Sorry to hear about your crash, I have had this happen to me and it was a week of pain.
It really made me wish all plug ins were authorized on dongles, so that something like carbon copy cloner would have saved the day.

  • The newest version of Flash Player won't install on my Mac!  Plug ins not working now!

Anyone else having this problem????  I downloaded the "latest version" yesteday.  Now I can't run Iheart radio/pandora/Jigidi puzzles without it saying it can't because of "plug ins".

I’m seeing a lot of these complaints with this latest update… and Snow Leopard
I made a PDF with illustrated, detailed instructions to resolve this: Snow Leopard Clean Install.pdf
Use THIS file with those instructions: Flash Player 12.0.0.44 (Mac OS X)

  • Topaz Plug-ins not working in LR 4

Spent over two hours on the technical support chat line this morning trying to resolve this issue. In the end, the support specialist had to punt and escalated the case to a higher level. Not sure what that means, I haven't been notified by anyone at Adobe. I also notified Topaz Labs and they said some people are having the problem and some are not but they're looking for solutions. Adobe's opinion was that it was Topaz's issue to deal with but after reading the plethora of posts I'm not so sure. I'm running Mac OS 10.7.3 and that seems to be a common thread through a lot of what I read. I don't get the impression that Adobe is listening to their customer on this one. Otherwise their support specialists would have been all over this. Sigh....guess I'm waiting for a patch from someone...maybe.

I had the same problem with LR4 and plugins from Topaz. I have PS3 and am not interested in downloading PS5. Here is what I sent to Topaz and their response:
I followed instructions for removing old versions of Fusion Express and reinstalled. I purchased two plugins as well today,Topaz Adjust and Star Effects. When I attempt to edit photo in Lightroom 4 by selecting a photo, then choosing Photo, edit in, Fusion Express2 64bit, I receive the message Unexpected error performing command: bad argument #1 to \'lower\'(string expected, got nil). I have 6GB of RAM on a Dell N5010 laptop with an Intel i5 2.53Ghz processor, using Windows 7 64bit.
    Response from Topaz help:
    Hello,
It seems that the issue with Plug-ins and there compatibility is on Adobe's end, and supposedly they are going to be releasing a new version on LR4 that is compatible (a 4.1 version) asap.

  • GPO and RA plug-ins not working in Logic Pro 8.0.2

I have installed RA and GPO on my Mac Book Pro. When I open Logic Pro they are not appearing in the Plug-in list. Kontakt 2 is but won't let me load individual instruments for GPO. The strange thing is I also have a copy of Logic Express and both RA and GPO work fine here (even though they don't pass the AU validation). They also work as stand alones fine. In Logic Pro, RA and GPO do not appear in the AU validation list. Can anyone help? I have all the latest updates as far as I am aware. It's very annoying!

  • QT7 gone, ProRes & MPEG2 plug ins not working with MPEG Streamclip

In the get info tabs they say 'Open With : SCIM' the rest say '<None>'
Just got my new imac running 10.6 yesterday and ran migration assistant.
My FCP license is for 5, will be upgrading soon (waiting for a 64bit release, fingers crossed) which should install fresh versions of the codecs.
Is there anything I can do in the meantime?
A bit miffled because I paid good money for my MPEG2 license.

Ta Muchly, got back roughly to where I was, QTPRO functionality preserved.
No sign of those ProRes codecs, I think they may never have been there in the first place, at work I use a Mac Pro with FCP6 / FCS2 and I may have tricked myself that they were available on FCP5 / FCS1 when they may not be.
FCP5 is unstable on 10.6 anyway (apparantly) so I'll be on FCE at home until I upgrqade anyway, and Apple Intermediate COdec is still available and working well.
Many thanks for your help with my question.

  • Manual Changes to AU plug-ins Not Working

This is strange. Today I opened GB and started working on some tracks and instruments and found that I am unable to manually adjust any of the plugins. The button with the pencil on it on the far right of the instrument/track setup is grayed out. I cannot adjust EQs, comps, generators, nothing.
    Any ideas why...?

When you create a brand new track, in the track creation DialogBox, the Pencil button is disabled. You have to go through more steps then needed, it would appear, you have to create the track, then open up the track info dialogBox Again to change the manual settings
