File Formats are limited?

I imported a scanned tif. Silhoetted the area I wanted to mask, created a clipping path and tried to save as an eps but my saving options were limited to Photoshop, LDF, PS PDF, PS Raw and tiff. I didn't get the 20 or so other saving options which includes EPS.
I'm on Mac OS10.5.5. Running CS3 10.0.1.
I can only get the big file format box by creating a new file and placing the picture in it and then doing a "save as" and I get the other formats.
Is this correct?

Thanks Buko!
You're right. I asked the source and he accidentally scanned at RGB 48 bit.
Luckily I found a work around.

  • What file formats are supported on a Mac/Quicktime?

I just need to know what kind of file formats are supported on a mac, or for quicktime on a mac computer. Im trying to make a video from a windows machine work on a mac, but don't know what format to save it in. If anyone could help me out, that would be great!
    --Kourtney

Oh, I was not discounting it's utility for your general 10.4.7 (and higher) users. I can think of several situations where it'd be most advantageous. If the user does have 10.4.7 and has permissions to install Perian, then it's near the top of the list of "things nice to have."
I was just saying that it's generally a good idea to work out everything on the sending end so that all the recipient has to do is open and enjoy. Most of us have had stuff converted to .WMV so that Windows users wouldn't NEED to install QuickTime to see our video, it's the same kind of thinking.

Which file formats are supported bij iPhoto?
Where is this kind of info written?

There is no comprehensive list released by Apple that I am aware of.
Here is what the help menu says: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=iPhoto/8.0/en/6303.html
For best results I stick to JPEG, PNG, TIFF, GIF which are fairly universal standard formats.
If you are working with RAW here is a list of supported RAW cameras: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3825
Was there a particular format you were trying to use?

  • Project settings - few file formats are involved

    Hi,
I would like to create a project that combines few file formats:
    - AVCHD (.m2ts) files taken by Panasonic HDC-TM700 at 1920x1080i and downloaded from the camera by Panasonic's HD writer AE 2.1
    - MP4 files taken by GOPRO Hero HD at 1920x720
    - Stills
Videos are PAL.  I'm using PE9
What settings should I use for this project?
What settings should I use for an export file to be played on a computer?
    Thanks

As I've written about pretty extensively on Premiere Elements support site Muvipix.com, you definitely should NOT combine a number of video formats in the same project. It only leads to trouble.
You should be able to set up a project for that AVCHD 1920x1080 video. And you can load the photos in there is they're sized to no larger than 2000x1500 pixels and you've gone to Edit/Preferences and unchecked the option to Scale to Frame Size.
But if you try to add that GoPro footage to the project, it could lead to problems.
It's worth a try, of course. But it's a very different format. And, if you start having problems with your project, it will likely be the culprit.
Ideally, when your project settings match your footage, there will be NO red lines above the clips on your timeline until you add effects to them. That's a good test to see if you've chosen the right AVCHD project settings.
But, once you do see red lines above your clips (and you will always see red lines above photos!) be sure to render yoru timeline by pressing the Enter key. The red lines will turn green. As long as you keep green lines above your clips, the program should perform well.

  • What file format are the transparent images on "Get Started with Pages"?

I can not figure out the file format used for "Masked"/"Clipped"/"Transparent"/"Outlined" images on "iPad Page"s such as the "Butterfly"or "Giraffe". I have tried using Transparent PNG files but they do not work. I was thinking of using Transparent Tiff or PSD files but I thought I would see if anyone knew the answer first.
    Thanks,
    Ryan.

Glad to hear it worked for you.
I think the issue is that before iPad, the iPhone OS did fine saving everything as a JPG. And I'm sure most users of Pages for iPad will never have need of dealing with a transparent PNG. It's those that are using these apps to push the bounds that see the possibilities and get somewhat frustrated with the workarounds.
Your feedback to Apple would be helpful in future changes.

  • When viewing the applications tab of my firefox preferences, PDF file formats are not in the list of possible formatts, how do I add it so that I can open PDF file in my browser?

I am running OSX 10.5.8 currently, and have followed all of the tips and advice on the help sites (IE. uninstalling, installing pluggins, programs like adobe, and reinstalling firefox). I tried deleting and resetting the mimetypes.rdf file and the pluginreg.dat files. I have noticed that when you open the FF preferences window, and look at applications, there is no Portable Document Format file type listed. How do I fix this?

Install '''PDFescape''' extension from the FF add-on gallery. I think it may help to your problem

  • 3D (with animation) file formats

Which 3D (with animation) file formats are accepted by Acrobat X Pro?
Do these 3D animation files work after importing them?
Do their animation work inside the PDF or only their 3D image is displayed?
Do their animation work inside the PDF without requiring javascript coding?
Which are the 3D (such as Tetra4D) softwares  which can create 3D animation files that are compatible with Acrobat X Pro?

Acrobat X Pro can only place native 3D files into PDF files - U3D and PRC formats. Both can contain animations as per their specification, but it's limited - you cannot for example animate on a vertex level.
Animations will play without JS, but to control them beyond the basic 'play bar' on the 3D tool, you would need to write some advanced code.

  • Import Failed, file format not recognized

I have a new Samsung Galaxy S2 phone with 8 mp camera and HD video.  Photoshop Elements 10 doesn't recognize either the photos or videos from the phone.  The file formats are JPG and MP4.  Elements 7 & 9 recognized these files just fine and any files that were already in the catalog from the phone display fine in Elements 10 after upgrading.  I just can't import anything new.  The files downloaded to my computer through the Elements Photo Downloader and will play and display just fine outside of Elements so I know the files aren't corrupt or damaged.  I really need to get this fixed as this device will be my primary mode of taking pictures and video.

    Try this as a test:
Open one of the failing JPG files in another application, such as XnView.  Use that application to save the file.  Then see if Organizer will import that photo.
Sometimes the JPG metadata is corrupted just enough for PSE to choke on it, although other apps can open the file just fine.  Saving the file from another app will re-write the metadata correctly.

  • Save as File Format  miss aligned

When saving as  in photoshop CS6 on a mac pro  Lion 10.7.4  The File format are inncorect  I save as a tiff and get sct  I have to save as Photoshop DCS1.0 to get a tiff file  If there are a wider range of file formats available when saving an rgb formattted image  it is some times very difficult to work out which option to choose presently saving everything as psd as it is simpler.
Also when opening files, the enable selection box is alway set to a blank  and i have to scroll down to the last two option to get "all readerble documents"   or "all documents"
Any one eles having thes issues I have added the odd file formatt they seeme to work fine but could i assume be casusing an issue.
    File Formats:
              AdobePSDXFileLoader.plugin
              ICOFormat.plugin

Yes you are partially correct  I did go to each of the developers site and download the latest versions of the plugins  Just forgot i will have to wait a few months before they will catch up.   But to be fair the files format plugins have been fairly forgiving in previous versions obviously not in this.  I keep on having to remind myself just why i have  all these versions of photoshop on my machine.
Never mind  its great paying for a the complete work flow solution  that falls down beacuse thirdparty developers are not up to speed ie Font Management maybe that something you should bring in house

  • Lockbox File Format in Europe

    Hi,
We are in planning to implement Lockbox functionality for auto cash application in our European company codes. I have few questions:
1)What file formats can SAP read other than BAI2  format. We are using standard SAP program  RFEBLB00 (Transaction FLB2) to read a BAI2 file for our US company codes and they work fine.
2)Ours is Bank of America and they are unable to provide BAI2 format? Has anybody faced this kind  of situation where Bank can't provide BAI2 format for Europe transactions? What are the alternatives?
    Thanks in Advance.
    Rakesh

Currently, only BAI and BAI2 file formats are supported by SAP.  It includes
    the following:
BAI Record Format:  Specify the length of the document numbers (10 in
the standard SAP System) and the number of document numbers in record types 6
and 4 of the BAI file. Your bank must agree on this format information.
BAI2 Record Format: It is not necessary to specify the length of the
document or the number of document numbers in record types 6 and 4. This is
because BAI2 file is designed that each document number is on a different record
type 4 with its corresponding payment and deduction amounts.  Your bank must
    agree on this format information.
NOTE:  while the BAI and BAI2 formats are supposedly standard, experience
has shown that they can vary by bank and many SAP clients have contracted for a
customized format.  The format received will need to be mapped to reconcile with
the SAP delivered data dictionary layout (Tables FLB01, FLB05, FLB06, etc.) to
ensure proper processing.  If the format does not reconcile and the user does
not want to have the bank change the format, SAP recommends that a user-written
ABAP be used to reformat the file or alternatively the SAP data dictionary can
be modified (this is a repair that will need to be re-applied in future
    releases).
Batch Input Sessions [Posting Functions]:  Specify which postings the
system creates (general ledger cash postings and/or customer cash
application).  It is recommended that both choices are selected if you are using
the general ledger and accounts receivable modules.  For the general ledger you
can decide whether to post one aggregate amount to the incoming cash account or
one line per check. This depends on your reconciliation with the bank.  In
addition, you can choose to create and name a batch input session to insert any
missing or new customer bank details into the customer master records  (this can
only be done if the system identifies a valid document number).
Important Note: The lockbox  program first attempts to identify the customer
with unique bank information in the customer master record matching to MICR
information on the check, so maintenance of unique customer MICR information is
important to ensure success.  If there is more that one customer with the same
MICR bank and account, then the program cannot apply the check to an
account.  This situation usually means that either the same customer has been
set up twice, or maybe what should have been only Ship-to or Sold-to customers
for the same Payer have actually been set up as separate Payers. Alternatively,
it may be necessary to set up a relationship where one customer is identified as
the main Payer and has MICR info, and the related customers do not have MICR
info but instead have the main Payers customer number in the Alternate Payer
field of the customer master record.
The payment information provided in the bank data file will create a payment
advice per check.  This payment advice will be used by the lockbox procedure to
clear subledger open items.  For more information on payment advices, please
read accounts receivable/accounts payable Payment Advice Notes in the IMG or
