File formats that ipod accepts

does it accept more than just .txt

Audio formats
AAC
MP3
MP4
Container formats
3GP
AVI
MP4
These shouldn't be here. You can get away with the compressed audio formats in some circumstances, but will causes problems in other. They also cause major problems when imbedded in video. The video formats work if the media is optimized, which is like saying it's converted. The problem with 3GP and MP4 is that even if they're optimized they don't work well as the usually have compressed audio, which optimizing won't fix.

  • AI CS3 Plugin: How to get the file format that is selected in the "save as" dialog??

    Hi,
    Someone please help me in getting the file format that is selected in the "save as" dialog. I wanted to retrieve it in the string format.
    I tried sAIDocument->GetDocumentFileFormat. But i'm unable to implement it correctly. Is there a better way or How do I implement this? Precisely, I wanna get the value as a string when the user selects "save as .pdf".

    Do you really need to know the file type? What about just checking the bit depth?
    var doc = activeDocument;
    if (doc.bitsPerChannel != BitsPerChannelType.EIGHT) {//Not 8 bit
    doc.bitsPerChannel = BitsPerChannelType.EIGHT;
    //do your save etc
    }else{
        //Ignore

  • After updating os to 10.9.1can't open pdf files.  I get a message saying It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn't recognise. I can still read older saved files but no new ones arriving by email.  Any help would be appreciated.

    After updating os to OSX 10.9.1 I can't open any new pdf files.  I get a message saying It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn’t recognise. I can still read older saved files but no new ones arriving by email.  Also can't attach a pdf to an email to send out.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Back up all data before making any changes. Please take each of the following steps until the problem is resolved.
    Step 1
    If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, and the problem is just that you can't print PDF's displayed in Safari, you may be able to print by moving the cursor to the the bottom edge of the page, somewhere near the middle. A black toolbar may appear under the cursor. Click the printer icon.
    Step 2
    There should be a setting in its preferences of the Adobe application such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected.
    Step 3
    If you get a message such as ""Adobe Reader blocked for this website," then from the Safari menu bar, select
    Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
    and check the box marked
    Allow Plug-ins
    Then click
    Manage Website Settings...
    and make any required changes to the security settings for the Adobe PDF plugin.
    Step 4
    Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C:
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
    from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
    From the folder that opens, move to the Trash any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari.
    Step 5
    The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others — I don't have a complete list. Don't remove Silverlight if you use the "Netflix" video-streaming service.
    Step 6
    Do as in Step 4 with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
    If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari.

  • Error Message.."Couldn't open the file. It may be corrupt or a file format that Preview doesn't recognize."

    Hi, This may be a common problem, I've browsed through posts here...anyway help required please! This morning I downloaded 108 photo's from my Canon EOS1000, same as I've ever done for the last few years. They seemed to load okay as they have always done, but just five minutes later I tried to open them and had this dreaded message  "Couldn’t open the file. It may be corrupt or a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize." I've checked file extensions etc. and they're all JPEG's - and the information on each photo looks similar to photos' in the stuff I downloaded last week.
    Have I lost these photo's? Can they be retrieved? Of course I selected the "delete photo's from camera option on downloading.....
    Any help greatly appreiated

    Boot from the DVD that came with your iMac. Open Disk Utility and repair the hard drive.

  • "It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn't recognize."

    I have read through all the discussions and I can never seem to find a solution or answer to this that is working for me.
    Currently in Spain on vacation, loaded all my photo's into iPhoto to clear my camera, like an idiot I deleted them from my memory card cause I've never had an issue with my Mac.
    First I was getting a "no room on Home" message, then I re-open iPhoto and everything is gone, even historical pictures. I tried to rebuild, doesn't work.
    I can see some of the photo's on my hard drive still and can open them in Preview, but others when I try I get this "It may be damaged or use a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize."
    I'm still in Spain, wondering if I should re-take really important photo's or chance that this can be fixed by someone who knows what they are doing when I get home.
    Dear heaven THANK YOU if you can help me.

    If I'm reading this corretly, capacity is 249.72 GB and 165.3 GB is avaliable.
    The home message has happened before, however the IT at work managed to fix it, until now.
    Thanks again/in advance.

  • IDoc file format that corresponds to BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST

    I have  developed an ABAP program that reads data from a file exported from a non-SAP system and post G/L documents in SAP with BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST.
    Now, I would like to rewrite the interface with corresponding IDoc. What is the inbound IDOC format file, which corresponds to BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST. Can you explain how to write this file?

    Hi Dewang,
    I'm not sure what the reason behind the different exchange rate, but from what I understand, most of our treasury transaction using flat rate. meaning, they agree and sign contract with bank to use certain rate for a range of period. so, during that period, all the posting will use this flat rate instead of SAP TCURR.
    I have tried to manipulate the internal table for currency amount for afew scenario but still cannot pass the exact rate and the amount for document and local like what in upload file. my last choice is to use BDC, but for recording wise, hard for me to simulate for all scneario; WHT, additional info, cost center etc.. fyi, I have tried to create simple BDC for txn F-02 and it is working for my case: passing exact exchange rate, doc amt and locl amt.
    i still hope for the BAPI to cater for my case, sure got hidden technique or tips to manipulate the exchange rate.
    for those who want to help, you may use below upload sample:
    COMP DOC_TYPE DOC_CURR DOC_AMT LOCL_CURR LOC_AMT EXCHANGE_RT POSTING_KEY
    A200 KR USD 100 RM 321.56 3.33 31

  • Why does FCE export file formats that can't be accessed in QuickTime?

    I've been slowly but surely figuring out the FCE program.  About 3 months ago I editied a video, exported it and when I clicked on the .MOV file it automatically converted it to a QuickTime compatible file, which I was then able to save and upload to YouTube with no issues.  I have not updated or changed any settings or anything on my computer since then and now when I export a video it shows up as an .MOV file that QuickTime can't access.  Also, when I click on the "more info" button, it sends me to a link with a list of compatible formats and at the very top of the list is .MOV!  I really don't know what to do now.  HELP!
    I just want to be able to view the video I edited and post it to YouTube.

    but when it comes to exporting FCE4 forces 1920x1080 vids into a 1440x1080.
    Not necessarily true.  But may be true if you put 1920x1080 source clips in an HDV (1440x1080) Sequence.  This is a common and often overlooked mistake.  Your camcorder can shoot both 1920 and 1440 video, what settings did you use when you filmed your clips?  What are your FCE sequence settings?  In addition, both of the available 1920 settings are progressive; FCE only supports progressive video if it's 720p.
    All FCE output is based on the characteristics of the Sequence settings combined with any special settings you configure in QuickTime Conversion if you use QT Conversion for output.
    and the results have been similar in all, grainy, pixelated or horizontal lines with movement.
    These are common problems with clips & sequences whose settings do not match.  The combing effects could be a combination of low data rates plus being interlaced (again, check your Sequence settings).

  • Mpeg4 file format that QuickTime can play

    Hi:
    I got one file that was encoded by the MPEG-4 format
    (Video: MPEG-4, Audio: MPEG-4 AAC) using the Advanced
    Simple Profile. I could play it smoothly through the VLC
    player. However, the QuickTime Player couldn't recognize it
    and returned with the 2010 error code. Could anyone tell
    me how to find the reason why the QuickTime couldn't play
    this file? Do I need to download any extra module to make
    it work?
    Thanks.
    Pentium 4   Windows XP Pro

    That helps. I DID find something that said QuickTime six had a problem with ASP and I think that's true for 7 as well. Actually, I don't think it's so much of a problem as it is not-supported for MPEG-4 (it is for H.264). If what I'm saying sounds odd, it's because I don't know exactly what I'm talking about, but I know that one reason why MPEG-4 on the Mac looks worse than H.264 is because MPEG-4 was only designed to create "Simple Profile".
    I'll do some more searching to see if I can verify that QuickTime 7 wouldn't be able to play back ASP. (Which version are you using for playback?)

  • Cannot open jpg files in Preview? Error message "may be damaged or use a file format that preview does not recognize".

    For some reason I cannot open jpg files from a co-worker who previosuly sent files without any problems.  I just bought a MacBook Air with OS X Lion & Preview won't open the files.  She sent the same files to another co-worker who opened without any issues?  Help!  Anyone have any suggestions after having the same or similar problem?

    I don't have an answer as to why Preview doesn't want to cooperate, but if you only need to view the jpeg's and do nothing else to them, you can use two FREE applications that come already pre-installed on your Mac... Those are iPhoto and Safari. Just drag and drop over the application icon.
    You can also find several FREE photo viewers in the APP STORE.
