File Group 'xilinx_softwaredriver (Software Driver)': Requires either a MLD or a MDD file

Hi all,
Since upgrading to 2015.1 i keep receiving and odd warning message when packaging IP. The File Groups window keeps showing the warning given below:
[IP_Flow 19-4629] File Group 'xilinx_softwaredriver (Software Driver)': Requires either a MLD or a MDD file.  Neither have been added to file group: "xilinx_softwaredriver"
According to what I can see in the file lists the MDD is there so I don't really understand the warning. I have tried removing and re-adding the MDD file but this does not seem to change anything. This only seems to be a problem on 2015.1 and didn't show up at all on 2014.2.
Can anyone shed any light on this matter?
Regards
Simon

Hi Simon,
actually what was marked as a "solution" was definitely not the solution.
The warning is not harmless. In my case the IP driver files were not copied into my SDK project.
You can make the IP integrator accept the files by changing the values in the "Type" column in the File Groups panel of the PackageIP tab.
The <ip_name>.mdd file's Type field shall be set to mdd driver_mdd
The <ip_name>.tcl file's Type field shall be set to tclSource driver_src
The Makefile file's Type field shall be set to unknown driver_src
You can make a further check by creating a new AXI IP from Vivado 2015.1 and comparing the settings.
Hope it'll help.
Cheers
Alessandro

  • Index File group on same drive as data files

I've just found a file group used for indexes on the same drive as the data files.
Am i correct in saying there is little benefit to this. The index file group should be on it's own spindle?
Mr Shaw... One day I might know a thing or two about SQL Server!

Definitely there will be performance gain provided you are querying for related data which as references index on those index filegroups.
It helps in parallel processing , having data and index on multiple disk heads helps in reading the data parallel. For more information you can refer the below link

  • How to load files from a hard drive to my mac?, How to load files from a hard drive to my mac?

I just got my first macbook a few days ago because my windows pc crashed. I have all my documents on the original hard drive, which I can plug into my mac. Is plugging in the hard drive just like plugging in a USB drive? Will I be able to chose the files I want on this mac, and which ones I don't? I'm very new to macs and I don't want to do anything that will potentially "mess up" my new computer.
Some of the word docs are OpenOffice files (which I shouldn't have a problem saving onto my mac because I'm downloading openoffice), but some are also MS Office files as well. I currenlty can't afford to buy the MS Office software for my mac, so I'm going for pages. Will I be able to save my MS files to Pages without any format issues? Do I need to change the format of the docs so I can open and edit them in Pages? Thanks for the help!

Is the drive formatted for the Mac? Is it a new drive? If so it's not formatted properly:
    Drive Preparation
1.Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
    5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Security button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
    6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size.

  • IMovie 09 has trouble importing large video files from my JVC HD-40. I am trying to edit files such as these in 09. What should I do? Would buying iMovie 2011 help? I am shooting AVCHD files instead of the other mpeg2 file format.

    Hi,
I am new into the Apple Community. I have a camcorder known as the JVC GZ-HD40 US and I currently am trying to use iMovie 2009 to edit my movies. With my camcorder, I have the choice to use two different video formats: AVCHD or Mpeg2. All my videos are shot in the AVCHD (HD) file format. This camcorder also has a 120 G Hard Drive built into it. When I plug in the camcorder through USB to my MacPro, the Hard Drive of the camcorder shows up as a icon on the desktop. Many of my video clips are at least thirty minutes in length, inside the camcorder. When I try to import in iMovie my video files, it only imports around ten minutes of the video and skips to the end of the clip. I would greatly prefer to use my MacPro desktop to edit movies instead of my Windows 7 computer which seems to work fine. Is there a solution to this problem? Would the new iMovie 2011 application solve this problem? I also have the Final Cut Express to work with, and also, can't get it to work. What should I try doing?

    Hi all,
I have the exact same problem. I've just been to Thailand with my girlfriend, and we recorded a lot of stuff with my brand new Sony HD camcorder. And whenever the we ran out of camcorder memory we just emptied everything onto my HP laptop using the supplied Sony software, which produced m2ts files. When we got home, I realized that my Mac Pro/iMovie09 was not able to import this format. What a huge disappointment! Especially considering the fact that I just bought my mac back in March (my first mac ever) only for video editing and music composing (no problems with music composing, however!).
Well, I needed a solution, so last week I just bought the Voltaic HD converting software (35$), and it works great. No problems. Only thing is that my Mac Pro (quad intel core) had to work 24 hours a day for four straight days/nights in order to finish the converting job - resulting in 434 GB worth of mov-files. This is no problem as such, and the quality is great. BUT it seems rather stupid that this converting has to take place. If I use Sony Vegas on my PC, it works out of the box with my original m2ts-files. And I would really appreciate if Apple would implement a simple import function of m2ts-files in their software - one that would (if necessary) automatically convert the files to mov. Or even better: would work natively with the m2ts-files.
    Best,

How do you install an .exe file on your pda?  I downloaded  (Pocket Divx Encoder for Palm OS) and noticed it only showed a .exe file saving? Dear WyreNut, et al.:
I hope this is a post...
I just added the wireless card and I could not get the software to install.
    1) I am using Windows Vista
    2) I operate as a limited user until I need to install something, then, I authorize the software within the limited account or logoff and logon again as administrator.
The install software could not sense the sync. I had everything set, but it could not see that the pre-install sync occurred.
Before I moved everything to an XP laptop, I searched my C drive for all PRC files. I did this while the installer was waiting for me to sync and click Next.
I found the PRC. The EXE file extracts it, hides it on your hard drive, and deletes it after the installation. So while the software is waiting for you to click Next, find the PRC and COPY it to another folder. I added the PRC to the Installer, canceled the EXE program, and sync'd my E2. The software loaded, installed, and I became a wifi Palm user.
I'll guess that the EXE makes sure you have a supported model before it unpacks the PRC. Luckily, my E2 passed that test, but I could not get the PRC to sync through the EXE. So I bypassed it.
    I hope this helps everyone.
P.S. the file is WiFi Installer 1.2.prc

  • Software to convert either EDB or BKF files to PST, MSG or EML files...

We are currently running Exchange 2010 on Server 2008 servers which we back up with Symantec Backup Exec. Over the last few years, we've upgraded Exchange several times (from 5.5 to 2010) and have always used Backup Exec as the backup solution. At the end
of every year, we run a full backup that we then store indefintely. Recently, after upgrading from Exchange 2007 to 2010 and then subsequently upgrading Backup Exec from 12.5 to 2010 R2, we received a request from a user to recover several emails that had
been backed up under the older versions of Exchange and Backup Exec. We then discovered that Backup Exec (apparently) is unable to do granular restores from legacy versions. We've now decided that a good way to move forward would be to find software that could
extract/convert data directly from either the BKF file that Backup Exec generates or from an EDB database file backup. Using this method, we could simlply run an end-of-year backup that only backs up the database files (EDB) and, if the need arises, use the
software to extract messages from that to either a PST (which could then be re-imported to the users mailbox) or to message files that could be placed into the users mailbox. Does anyone have any recommendations for this type of software? Have done numerous
searches but some of the results look a bit dodgy. Any suggestions gladly appreciated. Thanks,
    Adam

Have you looked at any third party tools?  I have used a product called Ontrac in the past to work with Public folder content.
Try this vendor for more information on what is possible:
    http://www.krollontrack.com/information-management/email-management-for-exchange/functionality-overview/
    From that link:
"Open, read and extract the data:
Opening Source Files: Open a source Exchange Database (EDB) and specify a target PST file or target server. With the additional
Agent for PST as Source, you can use a PST as the source file.
Extract Wizard: Read both private and public Exchange Information Store data from tape and disk backups. Extract Wizard reads EDB, STM and LOG files from tapes and restores them to any alternate location, thereby eliminating the need
    for a recovery server. "

I have an external hard drive - WD My Passport FOR MAC. I want to format it to work on both mac and windows. I also want to be able to connect it to my TV and watch movies.
I read up and I think I am supposed to use exFAT or FAT32? I also saw MS-DOS. Which format should I should use? Will any of them cause damage to the files on the hard drive?
My little memory stick uses MS-DOS and it works on both mac and windows.
Please can you just tell me a little about each and suggest which one to use.
I know how to change it once you tell me so don't waste your time writing about changing it.

Will any of them cause damage to the files on the hard drive?
WARNING: FORMATTING A DRIVE ERASES IT COMPLETELY !!
If you need to carry large files (e.g., larger than about 4GB) back and forth, you may need ExFAT. Otherwise MS-DOS works for smaller files.
The Mac can Read, but not write Windows New Technology File System (NTFS) without an add-on program such as Paragon NTFS.
