File Info Not Showing

In column view, the preview window for an mp3 file used to show the duration. But now the duration just shows "--". Same with Last opened and Audio bit rate. What happened to that info?

Even in Bridge CC (64bit) when I select the file and then click an item in the IPTC Core section it states "This property cannot be modified".

Some music files do not show up in google play music app library. I did clear cache/data and restarted phone. The music is stored on the SD card. Most of the music in the library is in the same folder on the sd card. I can play the song from file mana

Cyndi6858, help is here! We'd be happy to help figure this out. Just to be sure though, the Droid Maxx should not have an SD card. Is this the Droid Razr Maxx? How did you add the music to the device? Are you able to see the files and folders located on the SD card or device when plugged in?

NEF Files Do Not Show up in Lightroom.

I bought a new Nikon D750 yesterday and my raw files do not show up in Adobe Lightroom. The do show up in Photoshop and Bridge. I have creative cloud and it says it is "up to date" Does anyone know how I can get Lightroom to open the files? Thanks. Father Hungry.

I have an iPod Touch but I currently don't have a PC. I found an app that would allow me to connect to my network drive and I was able to transfer music files to it. These files do not show under the Music app and I can't find any way to do it.

I need help from some Apple people. I have an iPod Touch and I wanted to load it up with some fresh music but I currently don't have a PC. I found an app that would allow me to connect to my 2TB network drive directly and I was able to transfer a bunch of music files to the iPod. Unfortunately, these new files do not show under the Music app and I can't seem to find any way to convince the iPod that they are music. I can play them through the file manager only. Android doesn't have this problem, any music I put on my phone is recognized as music and can be played through any of the music apps. Am I missing something or is Apple to inflexible to handle this?

You can't. The only way to get songs in the Music app is to sync from a computer or to download from iTunes.

When filtering by keyword and using "Edit In" with Photoshop, edited file does not show up in list

When I do an "edit in" using CS5 and save it, the edited file does not show up in my LR4 preview window.

There are two distinct modes by which Edit In... may first open an image into PS: as a fully pre-converted rendered file; or as an on-the-fly converted image in memory.
(When LR opens a PS-edited image a second time into PS, using "Edit Original", the former option is always used.)
In the latter case, it is ACR which does this on-the-fly conversion, working from the original image (as imported into LR) plus your subsequent LR adjustment metadata. This means ACR compatibility with LR becomes an issue - as it is not, with the pre-rendered file option.
There is a useful clue to which mode is being used:
the title of the PS document window, in the case of the on-the-fly conversion, still shows the name of the Raw file (or whatever) that you started with in LR... no file has been saved as yet, to say any different. You can Save or Save as, wherever and under whatever name, and from now on LR will look there for your edited image. Or if you close unsaved, LR has no edited image to show at all.
the title of the PS document window in the pre-rendered case, is the name of a file already saved on disk and already showing in LR. If you then saved this elsewhere, you would merely make a duplicate which LR cannot know about - and if this duplicate is the one which contains your PS work, LR will accordingly not show that. It is busy showing the content of the specific file that was passed to PS.
So, if inside CS5 your document is called something like IMG23334.dng - you can save it wherever you like. If inside CS5 your document is called something like IMG23334-edit.tif - you will have to save your changes back to that exact same file, in order for them to be seen in LR.

By design, the report will not show the images, will not apply imported css or javascript files and will not show framesets. Also, in the case that an image is shown there is no guarantee that that was the image that was seen when recording/playback the script.
The rendered html pages that are shown in the report only contains the structure of the html page. If an image is shown the image will be a reference to the location of the image and not a saved copy of the image as part of the report. If the website has a simple structure this can give an idea of what was different. If the website relies extensively on images, stylesheets or javascript to present the information then this report feature becomes less useful.
Few weeks ago I requested a feature request in order to be able to see in the report the page exactly as it was when recording the script and exactly as it was when the script was played back. In the way that the feature request was written it specifies the use of screen captures or saving the page as a pdf file.

If you feel that you have enough evidence of the symptoms, use the feedback at http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html to let Apple know. The "feedback type" of "bug report" has been removed from the iTunes feedback, so I suggest you use use "Other".
You will not receive any feedback from them, but they do read the submissions and act upon them. It can take a while, and more than one iTunes update before the issue is resolved.

How open a file and not showing window?

I write a script to do some work automatic,
for Indesign script, its application open method could open a file and not showing window,
the open method has a parameter [ShowingWindow] (if true, show the document window).
That is good a feature for me.
But with Illustrator, the application open method hasn't the same feature.
Open

[documentColorSpace as AiDocumentColorSpace],
[options as Object])
and for OpenOptions properties, there is not useful information for me.
Is there any other methods could do that?

Par file does not show up in iView

Hi,
I created a small project and exported as PAR file via system admin -> support -> admin console -> portal runtime -> upload .
The file is loaded into the server but when I go to create a iView based on this PAR file my PAR file does not show up as an available option. Am i doing something wrong or missing a step?

Files added not show in main playlist

I have checked that this issue has been reported in previous version of iTunes and yet I experience the same issue in iTunes 11 (probably internally it is still using the same itunes 10 mechanism). Sometimes if one added files to itunes, it will not show up in the main playlist but yet show up in Recently Added playlist. There is totally nothing wrong with the audio file because it is playable in iTunes and will appear once I sign-out iTunes and sign-it, and re-enable iTunes match again. So it is possibly a bug somewhere. It is quite irritating bug because there are time-consuming steps involve to turn on iTunes match (signout, sign-in, reshow some icloud status field, and waitng quite sometime to turn all existing songs from waiting to matched status as it retrieved info from Apple server etc). This problem occurs from time to time.
Can any apple personal explain what actually happens ? And if Apple can fix it once and for all ?

I have tried three different ways with the user accounts
- setting preferences for computers
- setting preferences for groups
- on one client I have tried the Software Update Enabler
Nothing works.
Somehow the server does not seem to recognize or "see" the files as described above. If I solve that problem I believe the clients will be able to update.

I am trying to import a movie from imovie app to my itunes. When i click on my device in itunes then click on apps the file sharing option does not show up. What am I missing?

You don't need to use the sidebar to pull up the info, actually. Just scroll on the edge of the window and the file sharing stuff will show up.

Files/folders not showing up with Airport Disk but are there?

I've recently bought the Airport Extreme, I was all excited about Airport Disk but there is a weird, extremly annoying bug.
On my USB hard drive connected using Airport Disk, I have a folder called music. When I open this folder, OS X starts reading the directory and files/folders show up one by one, but then it just all disappears - and the folder shows nothing. In Windows, it shows nothing at all in the folder. However, when I reconnect the drive using USB to my MacBook Pro, all my music is there and I can see all the files.
I have a feeling this is something to do with this:

as I have German and Japanese music files imported by iTunes which are not named in English (ie the filenames are encoded in Japanese etc etc)
Another strange thing is, in Windows, if I type the direct path to a folder (which is inside the supposed empty folder) I will be able to access it.
What's going on Apple?...

Hi Everyone,
I was experiencing the same. on the XP box it just wouldnt show anything period and on the Mac, the finder would briefly display the contents of the drive before disappearing. Spoke to Tier 2 and they thought I should reformat the drive, since he thought it likely that due to severing the drives connection that the format was corrupt...
I did manage to fix it myself and I'll tell you how. First I hardwired the drive via USB to the Mac. noticed an item called FROM which had no size, no date modified and type was --. I deleted the RECYCLED folder (which results when you delete something from the drive thru XP)
then i hardwired it to the PC. deleted the "FROM" folder which in this case was a file folder, and 237MB approx in size. I also deleted the ".DSStore" and ".Trashes" files. .DSStore is basically the icon cache and .Trashes is when you delete something on the airdisk from the Mac. reconnected the drive and POOF! it worked Problem is now solved.
So to summate, i think in my case it was more the discrepancy between the FROM not showing up as anything on the Mac, versus it being a full fledged folder to windows xp. i just thought i would pass this along...

Finder Strange behaviour: folder and file icons not showing, then they disa

Yesterday I was trying to install the postgresql package from (http://web.mac.com/dru_satori/iWeb/PostgreSQLforMac/Welcome.html). Actually I had an older version of their package, i uninstalled it, tried installing the new package, but kept receiving errors that the installation was not correct.
Now the point of this question, as I was doing the above, i started to notice that some files (either on my desktop or in a folder window) are not showing the icon. Only the label is showing! when I click on such a file, the file disappear (i mean even the label is gone).
I have completed permission repairs, disk repairs. I also noticed that this is only happening in my account, but not that of other accounts on this computer, which indicates that this is a problem in my home directory. I have also re-lunched the finder using the force quit window. I have also trashed the com.apple.finder.plist and logged out and then logged in again. I have just noticed that (pages) is asking for the serial number! I have this program installed months ago! It seems that some other files are also getting damaged!
Is there something that I am missing? Is this a bug? is there any solution, because this is very annoying and it might indicate a bigger problem that I am not aware of.

I also noticed that this is only happening in my account, but not that of other accounts on this computer, which indicates that this is a problem in my home directory.
Good first troubleshooting step!
Now log back into your normal user account: (In your case I would try preferences first)
1. Navigate to ~(yourhome/library/fonts - drag this folder to the desktop.
• Restart and test your applications.
• If they work start adding the fonts back few at a time.
( Likely suspects are Times RO & Helvetica Fractions, also if you do not use Classic you can trash the classic fonts.)
2. Check Preferences Thoroughly;
• Navigate to ~(yourhome/library/preferences drag this folder to the desktop.
• Restart and test your applications.
• If this works, save the old preferences folder somewhere else or on disk, name it "old prefs" .
** Note: A very important file is the "com.apple.Mail.plist" preference file located in the Preferences folder which contains all email account settings and general mail preferences (hold this one and replace if your problem is not with Mail).
You'll have to go through some of your System Preferences and apps to set the preferences back to how you like them. (Or if you have the time and inclination, "cherry pick" through until you find the problem one or two.)
3. Check Permissions Inside Home Folder
   • Navigate to yourhome/library.
   • Get Info (Command - i) on folders for apps you are having problems with.
   • Open the "Ownership & permissions" disclosure triangle.
   • Make sure you are the owner, with "read and write" access.
• Click on "apply to all"
   • If this is correct, open the "Applications Support" folder and do the same procedure (Command+I) for the folders with the names of the applications you are having trouble with.
Note:
The reason to check this is because repairing permissions with Disk Utility doesn't touch permissions inside your home folder.
If the issue persists navigate to yourhome/library/caches and drag this folder to the trash, then log out and back or restart. There is no need to replace this folder.

5dmk3 video capture info not showing in LR4?

Used to have a canon 7d, which created a .thm file that held all the capture data info for the video, but now with the 5dmk3 it seems like the thm file is embedded into the video file, but now in lightroom the capture data does not show up any longer:( very useful for me to see atleast what ISO the video file was shot with.
Any help suggested?
I have tried downloading directly from memory card into lightroom, an also via a card reader, and also via the EOS utility (like canon recommended) but it makes no difference.

Presenter Video Express (APVE) does not use the theme for the PPT output. If you embed the MP4 in a PPT slide using Presenter, then publish it out it will have the theme wrapper around the PPT content, which contains your APVE video.
If you want to customize the theme in the APVE you can do that when editing your video in that tool.
