File links go missing files in bins

Premiere Pro CS6. I'm working on a fairly complex project with lots and lots of still images and dynamic links to AE CS6. Never had this happen before, but while I'm working on a project with lots of bins and sub-bins, I'll go looking for a file and while the bins are all still there, there are no files in them.
My workaround has been to close PPro and reopen the file and voila! they're there. Nothing changes on the timeline, but I can't access the links to move a file to the timeline.
Bug or feature??? I'd say bug, because it certainly doesn't act as a feature to me!
I'd send a bug report, but they don't really seem to help. I've still got the problem of having to render AE CS6 dynamic links inside PPro, which didn't exist in CS5.5 and have turned in several bug reports, with no response from Adobe. sigh Takes up valuable render time.
The work around is not acceptable as it takes up even more time!

Nope. Nothing in the search box. It's like the database for the bins just disappears randomly. Then when i close the program and reopen it, the file links are back. It's almost like the bins directory(?) loses communications with Premiere (it hasn't happened in AE...yet) so I'm wondering if there's a .dll or some sort of subroutine that directs the bin database.

Yes. When I dynamically linked an AE file to a PPro project in versions CS5 and CS5.5 (and further back as well, when it worked at all!), the render line above the linked project was yellow, showing as not needing a render. In CS6, the behavior is completely different. It shows as needing to render (red). My graphics card is an approved nVidia Quadro, so that's not an issue. In CS6, it's broken. Period. It has disrupted my workflow as I use many compositions from AE in PPro and now have to render a project.
Thanks for the help...or at least looking at the issues. But no resolution here yet.

For such situation, I'd suggest the following:
1. Remove current installed office with the fix-it tool in
KB2739501, and follow the "Remove Office manually" section to make sure there are no remaining files
2. Either download a trial version of Office 2013 from
http://office.microsoft.com/, or from
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/jj937170
3. Reboot your computer in clean boot mode, and run setup again

Okay.
Let's try running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

Webgate installation - not able to find .cgi file in bin directory

Hi friends,
I am trying to install webgate on ohs server (after webpass installation). But as told in installation document for webgate, we need to configure the webgate by giving relative path to dll or cgi file in bin directory.
But when I tried to search .cgi file in bin directory, there is no cgi file there, there is only webgate.dll file.
Please tell me what exactly is the issue I am facing here?

Let me know which document you are following. While installing webgate, we need to provide the path configuration file of webserver. In your case, it is httd.conf.

I am in a need to convert a java .class files to binary format file (i.e.) bin i mean an executable files in Linux.

CS3: PDF-Export Transparency Issue when Image-Links are missing

I have a Layout with a transparent Frame on the top most Layer. For this Workflow-Step I do not have access to the original Image-Links, so I guess that all I see are the embedded Preview-Pictures and InDesign reports that all Object-Links are missing.
If I export this Layout as JPG, the resulting JPG looks like the WYSIWYG in InDesign, which is suitable for this workflow-step. However when I export as pdf, the Frame is not transparent anymore. Instead it is filled with white color and covers the rest of the Layout. In Adobe Reader I can actually select the wrongly covered Picture at the border of the frame and copy&paste it somewhere and it looks fine.
When I provide the original Frame-Picture and repair the missing Link in InDesign, PDF-Export works fine.
I have installed & updated InDesign on a new Mac OS X 10.4.11, so all settings should be default.
Transparency Blend Space is set to CMYK. I tried all default PDF-Export Profiles and tried a lot of different settings in the pdf-export dialogue including different PDF-File-Versions, Simulate Overprint on/off, Color-Conversion disabled, disabling Picture-Compression and much more. I also tried to Print a PS-File and then use the Distiller: same result.
I use Adobe InDesign CS3 V 5.0.2 and tried Adobe Reader 8.1.2 and Adobe Acrobat Pro 8 to display.
Any Ideas?

Transparency flattening REQUIRES having access to the high-resolution images to get good results. One of the slogans I teach printers is "Fatten before you flatten." Meaning, replace the low-res images with high-res images.

I've an old file without it's links folder, I was wondering If there was any way to extract low quality images from it to relink them.

@Bernardo – you could export the graphic frame that holds the low res preview to e.g. PNG.
But I would *NOT* re-link them! Place them anew in case someone has geometrically transformed (cropped, rotated, skewed, mirrored) the original ones. Keep in mind that by exporting graphic frames to PNG, fill and stroke properties together with applied effects are exported as well.

$PATH missing '/usr/local/bin' in /etc/login.defs and /etc/profile.
I only noticed, being somewhat a noob, after compiling the NEW Dillo 0.7.3 and finding that it places its' executable in /usr/local/bin (!). This, not being in my $PATH by default.
Please consider adding this line to future ARCH 0.6 or beyond for WORKSTATION users:

export PATH="/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/X11R6/bin:/opt/bin"

For some reason it is in my /etc/profile ... but I don't remember if I put it there or not.
Firstly, (and as already mentioned more or less) I can see arguments why AL does not include /usr/local/bin by default (mainly because there is nothing there when only installing AL packages).
But OTOH, this is the beauty of AL : you can (and are even supposed to) configure your system as you like by editing the files in /etc. I guess that's why I don't remember, because the first thing I would do if need be is editing /etc/profile ;-) ...
Oh, but something (very general !) to consider : if you want to keep your system "Unix-style", don't put every posible PATH in /etc/profile, but put it in ~/.profile (or whatever shell you are using). If you are the only user, it does not really matter. But in a "true multi-user Unix system" you should not have /funky/path/bin in /etc/ ... not that /usr/local is exotic ....this is more of a general note.

yes, the PKGBUILD for dillo works fine, however, last week they released the latest version 0.7.3 which Mt.Tam-Luxer tried to install ( ... hint ... hint ... package maintainers ... :-) ... ). It was not quite clear from your post if yo wanted him to modify the PKGBUILD script or to just use it.

You can then turn JSP compilation off on the server.

When running Oracle client 7 in Windows 95C PC, the following error message appeared:

Rename any MFC42.dll files other then the one in the windowssystem and reboot the computer. You have to boot with a system disk to do this. If this wont fix your problem than reinstall liveupdate.

QM notification attachment links are missing from table SRGBTBREL

Dear All,
We have problem in our system and the documents(specially QM notifications-QM02 03) are not accessible from the content server only for a specific period (Nov to Dec 2009) due to a missing link in SRGBTBREL (No idea how the entries are deleted).
Now we want to know, how we can establish a new link or restore the missing link in table SRGBTBREL ?
Also if someone can tell how to find the relation between the PHIO_ID and notification number ?
or the relation between Archive object id and notification..if we have this information then we can some standard function module provided by SAP.
or anyone else have any better idea , please share

Thanks for your reply , the given links were quite useful and we got some ideas that what should be the approach.
Approach to resolve the issue -
At this moment we are trying to get the relation between the SOOD , SRGBTBREL, SOFFPHIO tables.
SOFFCONT1 is no more useful for us as the documents are old and have been archived to Content Server.
We have all entries in the SOOD table and also in SOFFPHIO table, but in the SRGBTBREL the links are missing and hence the documents are not visible in SAP.
If somehow we can get the missing link is this table I am quite sure that documents wil be visible and accessible from SAP.
Our main target is to relate SOOD SRGBTBREL and SOFFPHIO and get the PHIO_ID for the mising documents and then we have a functional module which will help to get the data from content server.
As per my current unerstanding this is the relation between the tables
SRGBTBREL-INSTID_B is related to: SOOD-OBJTP,SOOD-OBJYR,SOOD-OBJNO,
Like FOL30000000000003EXT31000000002416
Here
SOOD-OBJTP = EXT
SOOD-OBJYR = 31
SOOD-OBJNO = 000000002416
And This elelement is than linked to table SOFFPHIIO as follows:

Administration link is missing

Hi Gurus,
I am using BI11g and default Sampllite.rpd
As a weblogic I could use the Analytics but the Administration link is missing!
I added this user to BiAdministrators and Administrator groups.
I assigned this user to Administrator role.
The result is same!
Any tips?

I modified the password of the Administrator user, howerer the Administration link did not appear.
I created a very new rpd and for this the result same.
Once more again these users belong to BIAdministartor role directly and via groups.
The result is same.
At least one setting is not correct.

ESS - Create Expense Report Link is missing for few users

Hi,
We are on ECC 6.0 Ehp 3 with EP 7.0.
We are using the ESS and in that Standard SAP provided Travel and Expenses Module.
For few of the users, the Create Expense Report link is missing eventhough the user is assigned with the Traveller Role
SAP_FI_TV_TRAVELER
Request you to let me know if any setting needs to be done in the back end/infotype to make the Create Expense Report link visible in the portal.

Same happened on our side. User is already set with the proper roles, with the correct info types but when logging in the Portal- she, too, could not view the link for Create Expense Report (which is supposed to Create an expense report for a trip without a travel plan).
When i use my userid, and just switch personnel number to her number, I could create an expense report on her behalf.
That made me conclude that her traveller roles are fine.
Pls help.
