File Manager & Bluetooth?

Hallo.
I have searched for a File Manager and a Bluetooth app but cant find any good one.
When i hade a undroid phone, there was very good file managers who showed the root of the phone and the bluetooth was great. The only file managers i found for iphone 4, doesnt show all my files, doesnt show my pic folder, ipod (music app), videos from buzz player, just *****, file manager is about to se all files and folders u have in the phone and to organize ur pics, music, videos in 1 place, not to have a few pics here and some there.
And the bluetooth just ***, apple show do a file manager who show all files from the root, and would be great if they could combo it whit bluetooth or something, this just ***.
is there any forum or news about this? would be great if anyway could answer.
ty

You cannot get access to the file structure of the iphone. It does not support disk mode and is not intended to be used as an external storage device. You cannot control the file structure of the iphone.
What bluetooth functions are you looking for?
Iphone supports stereo headsets/speakers, telephone headsets/handsfree device, come BT keyboards, some peer-to-peer apps from the apps store, and tethering ( where allowed by the carrier, you would need the plan from the carrier for this).

Can you please suggest a free Windows Vista compatible Bluetooth OBEX file manager - using which I can browse the files in 5800 XM?
    Thanx

Hi, people should use whatever method they prefer, but I've used Nokia PC Suite and Ovi Suite for about 5 years and have never had a problem with usb connection, have used bluetooth also, but for anything containing large amounts ot data, bluetooth is really slow, and so always use usb. You can connect your phone to Ovi Suite using either method, so the choice is yours.

  • Transferring unrecognized files by Bluetooth

I am trying to transfer Flash movies from my Macintosh to my N70 by Bluetooth. No problem, in principle - the file shows up as an incoming Bluetooth message. But when I try to open it, I get an error message saying that the file type is unknown. There doesn't seem to be an option to save without opening. Any suggestions?

    First some background info...
The Symbian operating system (which is what the N70 is based on), requires a special program ( called a "recognizer" ) to be developed and installede for each file type. The recognizer knows what to do with various file types. If there is no recognizer for a file type on the device, then nothing is done with it (well, the browser default to opening whatever the piece of unrecognized content happens to be in the Notes app; i.e., it assumes it is text).
On the N70, however, you can install a file manager, such as FExplorer, on the phone, and find the Inbox message attchment somewhere under c:\system\mail or e:\system\mail.
Tread carefully. Do not change or delete any files there with FExplorer. Just copy the file to some other location, and then delete the message from inside the Messaging app.
FExplorer you can find here: http://www.gosymbian.com/
Note: This will not work on S60 3rd Edition based devices, because the messaging directories/folders are not visible to unprivileged applications.

  • Pc Suite: File Manager not working

I can't access file systems on my E50 using PC Suite's file manager, neither via Bluetooth nor via cable.
The message is something like "Can not connect to mobile phone" (Original German message: 'Verbinden zum Telefon nicht möglich'). When I tried the Video Manager I got something like 'Error while reading the file system of your mobile phone" (German message: 'Fehler beim Lesen des Dateisystems des Telefons').
Local access to file systems on the phone works fine. Resetting the whole phone, reformatting the SD card, and
updating PC Suite Support on the phone didn't solve the problem.
When I first got my E50 and had PC Suite 6.x, everything worked fine.
Win XP SP3 (Microsoft Bluetooth stack), PC Suite 7.1.18.0 German, Nokia E50 (latest firmware)
    Any ideas?
    Torsten

When it was working, I would open up windows explorer, browse to the Inbox folder under messages under Phone Browser, select all the messages and just drag and drop to c drive on my PC. then I would delete the messages using my phone. I am using IrDA to connect my 6233 to my PC. It has worked before, I have saved 100s of messages in this manner. I upgraded to the latest PC Suite, it worked once (because the name of the messages saved included the first few words of the message itself), i deleted the messages from my phone, when i reconnected the old messages still appear under pc suite, but these are not on my phone. i deleted the messages under pc suite and now can no longer view the messages on my phone. i am able to browse images and the memory card and phone memory but when selecting the Messages Inbox under PC Suite it always errors with the infamous 'Operation could not be performed' Thanks for your help!

  • Using file manager and phone browser without email...

I have nokia 6021, PC suite version 6.5.12 and windows xp home SP2 and I connect the phone to PC via bluetooth.
I just want to be able to view my phone "contacts" (just names and phone numbers) on my PC, edit my "contacts" on the PC and then load them back to the phone, but I do not want to synch with my email program because that is full of other contacts stuff that I do not want to clutter the phone memory with.
The bluetooth connection seems to work fine, but......
When I set up PC suite it wanted me to synch with an email program, but I just by-passed that. However, I cannot see my contacts files on the PC using file manager and phone browser. Is the only way to do this to actually synch with another email program that I use purely for the phone contacts?

    ok guys, problem solved.
I just do a firmware update on my phone, though the firmware version was the same one, yet it's now able to back it up..

  • Regarding a file manager

Although the Lumia series has provided so many new features to smart phones but still there are some very small things that they forget to provide. Ii have so many concerns. My first concern is regarding a file manager app, there is no such app where we can get all the photos, videos, sounds, documents, app setups etc. at a single place.. We cannot even get the details of a photo in the album, apart from these no cut- paste option is provided, we cannot change the folders here which can be done very easily in android phones, so please provide a proper file managing app.
my second problem is about Bluetooth, in my Lumia 520, there is no option where I can receive multiple files by permitting just once, for every single transfer I have to tap the accept button, what kind of smart phone is this? Even cheaper phones have this feature..
Another problem is regarding the app setups in SD card, why do we need an internet connection to install an app if we already have the setup in SD card ? Why have you made such simple things so complicated?
Another problem I regarding the videos, I am using this phone for more than a year and still don't know how to transfer videos from pc to this phone, its a very complicated procedure, please help.. I believe there is someone sitting on the other side who will read my feedback and give a good response to it..
    Thank you!!

    1. Attach the phone to the PC using USB
    2. copy the video file using CTRL+C,
    3. in windows explorer, find Videos folder on the phone
    4. paste the file there (CTRL+V)
or you can use drag& drop

  • Can't see phone in File Manager

    Hey.
Bought a new Nokia 2730 today and managed to get some music into it. Everything worked fine so far; the phone has connected without any problem, I can see it in PC suite and all that things. But when I select File Manager, there is nothing. I can't select anything. Synchronization, sending internet packets into telephone works very well, this doesn't. Got 1GB microSD card (already formatted) and the phone hasn't suffered any damage or anything.
    Edit:
I'm using the newest PC suite downloaded from this site.
    Edit2:
Got WinXP; SP2. I was using the software earlier, but only 6.8.x (don't remember) for Nokia N73, which broke. I clearly removed the software with Nokia Suite Clearer or something and I am connecting with cable USB.
    Any help?

To add to this discussion: I have installed Nokia PC Suite 7.0.8.2 and the phone (Nokia 6301) connects to the software. However, unlike in my previous version of PC Suite, there are no SMS folders showing under Nokia Phone Browser - only the memory card folders. There is no Inbox, Sent Items, Archive etc. I have always accessed these through File Manager. Where have they gone? I can see the latest few messages in the main PC Suite window, but I want to be able to copy them from my Inbox, Sent Items folders to a folder on my PC.
    Here are the technical details:
    PC Suite 7.0.8.2
    PC Connectivity Solution v.8.22.4.0
    Nokia Conn. Cable Driver v.7.0.2.0
OS: Windows XP 32 bit SP2
Detected Bluetooth Stack: Microsoft V.5.1.2.2600, Build 2800.
I connect with a cable. One reference in the Help files I found relating to File Manager says that if folders are not visible, try "Reinstall PC Suite Support for SMS/MMS" in the Help Menu. However, this is greyed out!!
    Can anyone help?

  • 5800 - cannot copy files over bluetooth in Windows...

    Hi Guys,
I have always been able to connect my 5800 to my computer through bluetooth. It used to work on XP as well as Vista. Ever since I upgraded to Windows 7 - I have been unable to copy files from my computer to my phone through bluetooth. (Phone to computer file copy works fine).
The phone connects to the PC quickly - but if I try to copy - using windows explorer or even using the File Manager of PC Suite - then I am not able to copy files correctly. It shows me a dialog box saying "Do you want to copy <<Filename>> to your device? Your device may not be able to play or view this file" If I still choose to copy then it copies a file of zero bytes!
Has anybody experienced this? Please help.
    Heres my configuration --
    Phone - Nokia 5800
    PC OS - Windows 7
    PC Suite - 7.1.51.0
    Thanks!

Are you using built in bluetooth or a dongle ? I had problems with mine, (using a bluetooth usb dongle) on Windows 7, and to be honest don't know how it was solved ! Few times computer says installing drivers failed (although Ovi Suite would connect ok) then a few days ago bluetooth file manager started working !!!!!!!!!! Can only assume some new drivers compatible with Win7 have been released by samsung, who made my dongle. Sorry it's not a lot of help, but may be worth checking the web for bluetooth drivers for Win 7 ?
    Good Luck
ps drag and drop via usb cable is much quicker !!

For some reason PC suite dont have that option to see inbox messages received via bluetooth would be better if it comes in the future PC suite updates only way to see it to open and save those files on to your phone and access it using file manager, also its easy too

  • File Manager in PC Suite

My phone is a Nokia E51. I've installed PC Suite Ver 7.1.18.0. Everything works okay except File Manager. When I try to open it up I get a Windows Explore prompt asking if I want to send an error report. Without copying/pasting the whole report here (MS don't do anything about it) the info about the report is
"Error signature Appname: explorer.exe  AppVer 6.0.2900.5512   ModName: phonebrowser.dll
    ModVer: 7.1.105.0    Offset: 00056204"
I use a blue tooth connection.
Windows XP + Service pack 3
    Detected Bluetooth stacks:
    - Microsoft (Version: 5.1.2600, Build: 5512)
    - IVT BlueSoleil (Version: 2.1.3, Build: 0)
Appreciate it if any solution might be offered.

  • Copy swf files over bluetooth/infrared?

    Hi Experts,
For our Flash Lite 1.1 application we are wondering whether
or not a Flash SWF file can be shared between phones using
    bluetooth or infrared.
When we would provide a unique Flash Lite 1.1 SWF with
hardcoded serialnumber for download, is this a reasonable secure
way of protection against piracy, or are their better ways?
I know java applications can be "locked", but can SWF's be?
We can possibly maintain a serverside clients database, but
which info can we use from the telephone to identify users? IMEI?
    or the Phone number?
    Awaiting any assistence,
    Kind regards,
    Chris
