File Manager Mark/Unmark

While using E63 File Manager and you want to mark many files (say 40 out of 90 files), do you have to use the menu ? Is there any button or combination of 2 buttons for Mark/Unmark command ? Thank you.

Thank you. I have just seen that Shift+Enter and Shift+CenterNaviButton are the same. Do you know other 'shortcuts'? I know these ones: Ctrl + Shift or Ctrl + Space to toggle predictive text. Shift + backspace to delete character after pointer (edit mode) Ctrl + up/down navi button to jump per paragraph. Ctrl + left/right navi button to jump per word. And some usual ones such as copy, paste, select. Could any other user tell me the othe useful keyboard shortcut? Thank you. .

  • How do I... (1) "play" a ppt; (2) "see" my sub-folders and their files in "Docs To Go" or "File Manager"?

This is written for the Playbook blog writer in the hope that he will see it here and post a blog answer. However, a reply from anyone would be appreciated. Thanks.
[2 questions about PPBB OS 2.0+]
Hi. Thanks for your very informative blog. I would appreciate it if you would consider writing blog tips to answer the following:
    1) Why can't I organize my files in "Documents" or "File Manager" to "see" them in their sub-folders?
BBPB allows me to create SUB folders in the Documents folder, through my pc's access to the "Documents" folder in the Playbook. However, then I cannot "see" these created sub-folders on my BBPB after I disconnect my BBPB from my PC.
All the files I downloaded into these "sub" folders end up all together in the file list in "DOCS TO GO", either in "Documents" or "Music" or "Video" or "Pictures" ---- but these files are NOT separated into the sub-folders I created. The same thing happens in "FILE MANAGER" i.e. all files on the Playbook are in ONE place only.
Is the Playbook OS ever going to allow one to view sub-folders and what is in them, other than using the pc to do it? For example, it would be desirable to put all my ppt files into one folder.
    2) How do I "play" a PPT file in the BBPB?
The BBPB "User Guide" says that I can "view, edit, or play" Powerpoint Presentations. However, although it describes how to "view" or "edit" individual slides, it does not say how to "play" ("run") a slideshow. How do you "play" a self-running slideshow?
For example, in Windows, you can click "play.bat" (in a saved "presentation cd" folder on a cd or USB stick) to run the ppt with sound and pictures saved in that folder (you don't need the Powerpoint program itself for this, since you are using the "pptview.exe" file in the same folder to "play" it). However, after downloading all the files in this "presentation cd" folder to the Playbook, I could only see one of them, the ppt file itself ---- and there is no icon in the Playbook to "play" the slideshow, it seems. Help?!
     Thank you.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

First, I use an app called "File Browser" to view those subfolders.
As for running a powerpoint, I can open a ppt file and it runs in Documents to go. Next to the "Close" button there are three icons. The third one runs the ppt file as a slideshow.

  • File Management in C5-03

Recently i was buying Nokia C5-03 because it has both 3g & Wifi as well as the price is
affordable. i am happy with this phone except some issues regards to file management. unlike the basic Nokia OS, here i couldn't find a way to manage my files easily. as an example, if i want to move some files from Image Gallery to a New Folder by Marking what i want to move, there is no option maybe still i could not. as well as does anybody know, if there's 3rd party file management software to download i beleive it will assist me on this concern.

  • Set Default Sort in File Manager

    Hi,
When i go to File Manager, Media Card, Photos, the default "sort" is set to Name and "order" Ascending. If i want to change it to "sort" date and "order" descending, i select date and then it jumps back to the actual pictures. I have to go back into the menu to do the second selection "sort" descending". So can the development team create an option where you change all the settings first and then you save them which then brings you back to the actual pictures? And also look into the option of remembering your preferred sort/order preferences? because once you go out of file manager and go back in, you have to do these steps again.
if I am overlooking this feature (maybe it's already a setting somewhere which i missed) feel free te let me know.
    Thanks

    Hi,
It's not about set of key field in MDM Import Manager but the reason is that you can not select more than 1 category(Lookup Taxonomy) in maintable for one record. thats why error is coming because for this Property Multi-valued always No.
Even, you can try this in Data Manager manually create three Category A, B and C in taxonomy mode on selecting Sub table Categories, then on selecting main table, when you select category field(which is lookup to categories table)for a particular record you could able to select only one category A, B or C.
i would suggest make a Attribute of type text having three values A, B and C and mark this as Multi-Valued in Attribute Detail and link this Attribute with your category. in this way you can attach three values A, B and C with your Record.
Other thing you can do,make this category field as (Lookup Hierarchy not lookup taxonomy) in main table to Subtable(Hierarchy) then for this field in main table you can set Property Multi-valued = Yes in MDM console and then after Import using MDM Import Manager finally only one record will get created in Data Manager as:
    Name Category
    1         A;B;C
    Hope it will Help you,

  • Where is the file management utility on my HP Pavilion dv5-1150us Entertainment notebook pc?

I am trying to hookup a WD My Passport Ultra 2TB external drive for backup on my notebook.  It tells me to check the file management utility to see if the WD File Setup is listed.  How do I go to and find that utility?

    Hi,
    Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp41501-42000/sp41698.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, download and reinstall the Chipset driver on the link below.
    Chipset Driver - Windows Vista.
When the reinstallation has completed, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.  Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete.  Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.

  • File manager

nokia should provide file manager for lumia series.The containts downloaded within the apps. are only visible within the apps...they are not even visible with zune..this is the major disadvantage..

not sure that the file manager really matters in wp8.
if you want a standard office doc, you launch office and any documents that are compatible will show there and you search similar to a file manager
if it is a pdf/adobe file, then you just launch pdf reader and all pdf docs on your device are there.
wp8 is not compatible with zune, so just connect your device vi usb and you can see all the files on your device that are transferred or saved to the device.
just like iOS, you only have access to the main ram file system through developing applications. so at least, unlike iOS, you do not have to pay the 4.99 to get a application that "Acts" like a file manager.
I think that having to use zune is a disadvantage because if you are somewhere and want to share files, and they do not have zune, you are SOL, whereas, now you just have to have the usb cable and you can transfer anything from your device that has been saved to it.
    hope that helps.

  • Prompt Command File Manager: tiny bash FM

Last year pyfmii, now this. What's with these crazy file managers.
    http://paste.pocoo.org/show/175499/
    wget http://paste.pocoo.org/raw/175499/ -O ~/bin/pcfm; chmod +x ~/bin/pcfm
    PROMPT_COMMAND=pcfm
By avoiding ncurses the program only takes up a few lines and doesn't clear the screen (and speed is still OK). It can paste right into the bash prompt using xdotool and xsel for a very transparent approach to the "subshell" in some file managers (like mc).
Features include bookmarks (you can actually call the program as a general selector for a list (try pcfm ls /)), sessions to keep track of last selected/marked files in a dir, searching in the list, some navigation things like trying to find the closest match when the previously selected item was deleted and auto-selecting the parent directory on `cd ..`, and a launcher for filenames.
It can generate the file list with any command you want, but will need a few functions to get the filename, and tell whether it's a directory and such. I have added a few of these "profiles".
The bad thing is that it needs xdotool and xsel, which I mentioned in this thread. xdotool can give bugs (I ran into shift lock a lot, which can be avoided by using an emulated click instead of Shift+Insert), will be a bit slow, and when you use it to paste, the mouse needs to be on the window. I actually wrote a function that moves the mouse on the window! So that is quite bad.
On the other hand, if a string only has ascii ([[:print:]] in C locale), it can be typed by `xdotool type --window xxx ...`, and xsel and pasting won't be needed. This speeds things up and makes it a little more stable (mouse doesn't have to be on the window, etc).
Anyway, if you use screen and like this file manager, be sure to try the different approach in the linked thread.
    Screenshot:
Screenshot? Try your ls alias. On a related note, make sure you have a good LS_COLORS variable.

    EDIT: wget 'http://echtor2oo3.de/paste/9769876.txt' -O - | tr -d '\r' > ~/bin/pcfm; chmod +x ~/bin/pcfm
(before edit version: 'http://echtor2oo3.de/paste/7936610.txt', it didn't restore selected files if you didn't have a dir-specific profile)
github and an rc file is a bit too much for a tiny program. In a case like this, an rc file is good if you have frequent updates, but unless someone has more good feature requests, there won't be anything to update. (new profiles, keybindings, file associations, it's all up to the user)
I made the start of the file look more organized so it's easier to change. Note that F9 takes you immediately to edit the script.
find-as-you-type searches the entire line: directory entries start with d.
alias is a good idea (up to the user), auto-setting the prompt requires sending a command, so that's too tricky.
I added a command line switch -t, to set the default profile.
    The profile keys are now:
    ^H: toggle iso / iso-no-hidden
    (commented) ^H: iso-no-hidden
^S: time sorted (based on iso)
^E: extension sort (based on iso)
    ^T: traditional (full ls -l)
    ^I: iso (-g -G and long-iso time) (^I is also TAB)
^N: minimal (size, filename, ID character)
^U: custom (e.g. `find -maxdepth 1`, it brings up a prompt), since directory status can't be checked (actually you can, with `file`, I will look into it later), you have to type F2 and cd
^P: show the profile list and choose one (like bookmarks)

  • File manager options in Arch/GNOME

    Hi!
This is my first post here - I'm an Arch user for about three days now. I migrated fro mWindows XP to Ubuntu about six months ago and decided to move to a different distro because I was fed up of the shocking speed (which, admittedly, was a lot faster than XP), not being encouraged into the terminal (everything has a shiny interface) and everything constantly breaking (I think i've typed dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xorg more times than my name now). I really like what I see - it's super fast and lightweight and installing Arch, X and GNOME was super smooth (apart from a 36 hour bad-patch where I got my network cards confused ). The only major gripe I have with it is that nautilus is an absolute pita here - it's the only thing I can honestly say was better in Ubuntu. Nautilus here has no sidebar, status-bar or navigation bar and opens every folder in a new window. Whenever I'm moving around anywhere other than in home I like to use the terminal, but I do a lot of browsing in my home directory and find it's pretty essential to have a good file manager so I thought I'd post a thread and see if anyone had any reccomendations for good file managers for Arch/Gnome. What's popular, what works well and what looks good? (I need something easy on the eye, screenshots would be nice) - can anyone pass on a reccomendation?
    Cheers
    Pete

you can configure nautilus doing that:
open nautilus->edit->preferences; select Behaviour and mark Always Open in browser windows.

    emac77,
Support for Canon 5D MIII RAW files was announced in ACR 7.1 (Adobe Camera Raw 7.1).
The current stable release is ACR 7.2 while ACR 7.3 is still a Release Candidate (Beta).
Starting ACR 7.2, Adobe stopped supplying a manual download link which was available till 7.1. Adobe Application Manager (AAM) is the only way for you to update to ACR 7.2.
However, here is a direct download link that AAM connects to for the download that you can use to grab the .zip or .dmg (Mac) file. Download and install. See if you're able to open your files then.

  • [SOLVED] Default Gnome File Manager

    Hello,
I installed Thunar and it has become the default file manager in Gnome, how can I change this back to Nautalis?
    Thanks.
Last edited by RAH (2009-02-16 20:10:26)

I am new to Arch but not quite so new to Gnome. I'm trying to do the same thing as RAH, I think. If I open Nautilus through the Applications menu as File Browser from the System Tools drawer, and then open a folder in Nautilus, the display in Nautilus jumps to the contents of the selected folder, just as it should.
But if I select a location to open from the Places menu, it opens in Thunar and any subsequent folders opened in Thunar are opened in a new window. I would like to know how to change this behaviour.
When right clicking a folder and then going to properties, I see no 'open with' tab. There is the 'Open With' option in the context menu, where I see "Open (folder name) and other files of type "folder" with:". After selecting File Browser this does nothing to change how the folders are opened from the Places menu.
I realize this is a trivial desire but I would appreciate any help I can get on the topic.
    Thanks.
    [EDIT]
    I found what I was looking for in gconf-editor -> apps -> nautilus -> preferences -> always_use_browser  (check mark).
Stumbled upon this looking for options to remove desktop icons.
    Have a good day. :-)
(Also what I thought was thunar seems to be a dfferent kind of browsing method in nautilus which is appearantly not "browser". )

  • Ranger file manager copy/paste verbose

Hello everyone, I've been using Ranger as my file manager for a while but I got something bothering me.
Whenever I wanna copy some lot of files, eg. from my computer to a SD card for my tablet, I mark the files ya and then pp where I want them to go. It works flawlessly, I just would like to know if there's a way of knowing how far are the actions on, I mean, I normally copy some Gigabytes of files, and it takes a while, so if I had a verbose like cp on mv does on command line, or Nautilus does graphically would be awesome.
Does anyone know if Ranger has such thing?
    Thanks in advance /o/

There is a progress bar on bottom, may ranger version is 1.6.1, python 3.3.2 .

This means with the Apple File system people can browse the user's files which I don't want.

Hi, people should use whatever method they prefer, but I've used Nokia PC Suite and Ovi Suite for about 5 years and have never had a problem with usb connection, have used bluetooth also, but for anything containing large amounts ot data, bluetooth is really slow, and so always use usb. You can connect your phone to Ovi Suite using either method, so the choice is yours.
