File missing on iPhone?

After syncing music has completed my iphone has one less item (song) that what is in my iTunes library. Does anyone know why this is, or are the playlists counted as a file that doesn't actually transfer to the iphone?

Are all the songs you want to sync "checked" in itunes?

I had to get a new device (iphone) and when I restored my info to the new device, everything transferred except my contacts - icon and all are missing.

Contacts is a pre-installed app and therefore cannot be deleted so you may have inadvertently moved it onto a screen or into a folder, check utilities. Check all screens and folders and do a search in Spotlight, it will tell you if the app it still on your iPhone but unfortunately not where it is. If you find it on one or your screens or in a folder, press the icon until it wiggles and then drag it back to where you want it. Alternatively you can reset your home screen in Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.

Gift Audiobook Media Files Missing after iPhone sync

Hi All
I recently received an Audiobook as a gift, I happily redeemed this into my iTunes 11 and synced it onto my iPhone. So far so good.
However when I returned to iTunes, the audiobook appears to exist but if I try to play it, iTunes it says it cannot find the media files and invites me to locate them myself. I cannot find them either. However the book is still there on my iPhone. The purchase shows as a gift in my account but being an Audiobook I can't re-download. All this took place before the next TimeMachine cycle so there is no backup except on the phone.
Any ideas how I recover from this error condition?

I'm now having the same issue here. It seems for me it has something to do with importing the files from a Home Sharing Library. But after syncing, the files are gone.

How to edit SMS.db file pulled from iPhone?

I recently accidently deleted a conversation from my iPhone, but luckily I had synced up with iTunes previously, so the texts and other settings were still backed up so that they could be restored.
Before restoring, I pulled off the SMS.db file from the iPhone so that I could have all the most up-to-date sms text messages that were on the phone so that I didn't lose them. I then restored to 1.1.4 and was able to get back my old text messages. SO I then pulled off that SMS.db file from the iPhone, so now I have 2 SMS.db files, which I basically want to merge into 1, which contains all the up-to-date texts, and that also contains the deleted conversation.
I tried downloading SQLite Expert Professional, as well as SQLite Browser, and am able to open up both of the .db files. However, I cannot find a way to copy and paste the missing conversation from one .db to the other. I also was thinking of going to the extent of just manually typing in each and every one of the missing sms's into the newer db file, that way I would have all texts there, but when I try to add an entry to the database, I get an error saying "The database file is locked."
So what I'd like to know is if ANYBODY has any idea of how I can go about getting all the texts into one SMS.db file (either just copy/paste, retype manually adding from one to another, etc...)

Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately, I'm running Windows Vista, so that won't work for me, since it's only Mac Compatible. In the FAQ, they say that for Windows users, they suggest TouchCopy (http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/), but either way, none seem to do exactly what I want.
I basically want to have ALL my SMS's back into 1 SMS.db file, so that I can put that back on the iPhone, overwriting the current version, so that I can view all the SMS's directly through the iPhone. What PhoneView seems to do is basically give you the option to view your SMS's on the computer, which I can do using MobileSyncBrowser.

Voice Memo .mov files lost in iphone Limbo

After doing some research it appears that:
There is a bug with iphone (mine is 3g) that when voice memos are recorded they are recorded as .mov files, and then converted to .m4a.
I assume this is because .m4a is a more complex algorithm and the little iphone processor can only record .mov on the fly.
The issue is that if the iphone is interrupted in this process, you will have a voice memo that goes for 0 seconds and a .mov file on your iphone taking up space.
I noticed in iTunes that i had 3.9 GB of "Other" taking up space on my iphone. After using third party software, i looked into the files on the iphone and found that most of this space was being taken up by files in my "recordings" folder. I went into 'voice memos' on my iphone and individually** deleted all the voice memos (after backing them up) and freed up a significant amount of the 3.9 GB. However, there are still 1.2 GB of .mov files still taking up space on the iphone, and I cannot find a program that will let me delete the files (write to the iphone hard disk) and the iphone itself cannot recognise the files!
It seems the only way to delete the files is to Jailbreak. I don't want to jailbreak the phone, simply because i believe that when you pay for apple products, you are paying for a product that 'just works'. In other words, they have done all the trouble shooting and tweaking of things to make it all work seamlessly. Jailbreaking reopens the can of worms of software clashes, and you get back into the land of using a windows style system.
Does anyone have a way around this?

They won't sync back to your phone as far as I know. You can sync them from your phone to computer to listen to them in itunes. If you delete a voice memo on iPhone, it isn’t deleted from the Voice Memos playlist in iTunes. However, if you delete a voice memo from iTunes, it is deleted from iPhone the next time you sync with iTunes.
You might try this:
In iTunes, select the voice memo you want on your phone, go to “Advanced” and select “Create MP3 Version”. See if you can sync that back to your phone.

I created a ringtone file on garageband and sent it to itunes just to play around with it and then synced my phone. I deleted it and put another version of the same ringtone into itunes and then synced again but this time, both of the same ringtone was on my phone, but only one ringtone file was found in itunes. I deleted all my ringtones from itunes and then synced again, but that one duplicate ringtone won't go away. The file is not in my tones or music in itunes, nor is it in my ringtones folder in finder. How can I delete the ringtone off my phone?

You will, because the credited funds are on your iTunes account, not the application. When you reinstall iTunes just configure it with your old iTunes account and your credits will be there waiting for you.

Are you running the report online or through PeopleCode?
In last case make sure the effdt is set correct in PeopleCode.

How can i print my files from mi iphone 5 throught the airport express?? i have the last iOS version installed and also the last firmware version of the printer. the printer is already connected to the USB airport express and when i look for printers in airprinter there is no printer found. i have an HP LASERJET P1606dn(i think that is supported by the airprinter).

In order to function with AirPrint, a printer must connect to the network wirelessly.
Even if you have an AirPrint compatible printer, iOS devices will not be able to print to the printer when it is connected via USB.
So, you have two options:
1) Reconfigure the printer to connect to the network using wireless only and the iOS devices should be able to print that way....assuming that you have up to date drivers for the printer installed.
2) Leave the printer connected via USB and then use a third party App like Printopia installed on your Mac as a "workaround" to (hopefully) allow the iOS to device to be able to print. If you want to give this a try, there is a free trial for Printopia, so you will know if it will work before you buy. You must have a Mac running on the network in order for Printopia to function correctly.

Try rebuilding your iTunes Library:
(This will cause all devices to see your library as a "new" library)
1. Open iTunes.
2. File>LIbrary>Organize Library: Consolidate Files.
-This process may take some time.
3. Quit iTunes.
4. Browse to your iTunes Folder.
5. Drag the files to the desktop, but leave the folders in place (folders will be iTunes Media, Album Artwork, Previous iTunes Libraries)
6. Open iTunes.
7. File>Library>Import Playlist.
8. Direct iTunes to import the "iTunes Library.xml" that is sitting on your desktop.
9. Once the process is complete attempt to resync your iPod.

Other from the obove Itunes works fine and does sync pictures from my computer to my Iphone from "my pictures" folder.

The title of my initial post is a bit misleading. I already took a chance deleting one of the iPhones, hoping if I deleted the wrong one, I can still reauthorize it (all with the same Apple ID acct, so not subject to 90-day waiting period, right?) The iTunes database just updated itself, and it says I have 4 "devices" "in the Cloud", but 5 "computers" associated w my account. How can I find out what computers are associated? Isn't there a list I can see? I dont have a clue what computers they might be. If I use the "Deauthorize All" option, is it a pain to add them all back in. I assume I would have to log in from each computer to reauthorize each one. Would I have to be running the newest OS or version of iTunes to reauthorize? I think I have a PowerBook G4 Titanium with an older OS and iTunes. I'd like to keep that authorized, if possible.

I'm trying to send a jpeg from the Imac to a windows PC. The windows PC doesn't recognize it as a "file" with the paper clip. Why? The same file from my iPhone makes it fine. It is sent as "windows friendly" attachment.

This is very frustrating. I use Aperture and share pictures all the time. The thought that some people can't download jpeg images I send them is very troubling. As a test, I'm sending them to my work PC which is in front of me. The file arrives and can be seen in the email, but it does not show up as an attachment and therefore you can't save it. There's no paper clip in the file when it arrives. When it's sent, it shows the number of files being sent and the size. And like I said, if I send a file from my Iphone it arrives as a jpeg file fine on my work pc. I have checked my default settings and they are set to "windows friendly attachments". I'm not sure what "at the bottom of the email" means really. This seems to happen wether I originate the request form Aperture or from the email program on my Imac. Help!!

No, that doesn't work for me. And things seem to be inconsistent. Where it lets you vary the file size (small/medium/large/actual) when large and actual are the same, it doesn't send the actual jpeg file for windows to open. When large and actual size files are different when you toggle between the two, the file seems to go through to my windows pc ok. When I tried this through preview, that's when I noticed this difference, not through just email or Aperture yet. Help!
