File name font (web gallery output)

I am using CS4 with adobe bridge.  I have created some web galleries and have selected the option to show the file name.  This shows up just below the picture in the gallery.  The problem is the font is too light to show up against my chosen background font.  I am wondering how to change the font color of this file name for the output web gallery.  If anyone knows how to do this, I would greatly appreciate it!!!  Thanks!

Hi,
You can change the font colour in the Output Panel, under Color Palette (the order it appears and the options it shows depends on the template you are using). Simply double click the colour swatch sqaure to open up the colour picker and choose a new colour.
See attached screenshot if you are unsure where to look..

  • Using captions (or, hiding file names) for Web Gallery with Aperture 2.0

    Is there a way to add captions to pictures displayed using the Aperture 2.0 web gallery without changing the actual file name? I'd like to keep the file name but add a caption to each photo if possible.
    Thanks

    Hi John
    I'm not making extra versions for this, just using the version name as the name in the web gallery. If you are not already using the version name then it lends itself to web gallery naming nicely. If you are using version names already, perhaps reconsider how necessary this is to you as you are tying up this other potential use.
    My file names all contain a date and index number but I try and use more 'user friendly' version names if part of my final output will be for web galleries. This is good for clients as they don't have complicated names to order, but it's also a cinch to find the files using the search bar in Aperture.
    Hope this helps

  • Turn Off Slide Duration Web Gallery Output

    I am using CS5 Bridge, I would like to turn off the slide duration feature on the web gallery output.  The box requires a value.
    If the product will only produce web gallery output with a slide duration is there a way to hack the html output and remove it manually?
    What is your opinion of installing the legacy web gallery plug in.

    Dan:
    You can temporarily disconnect from the internet, unplug the modem to computer cable. If you're wirelessly connected then turn off the Airport on the Mac, not the base station.
    Do you Twango?
    TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
    I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Any way to keep original file name as image name for web gallery?

    Hi,
    I wonder if there is any way to keep the original file name as image name for a web gallery (instead of "picture-1.jpg)
    People often send us the thumbnails or the image from the web and we have to search forever to find the image in AP - if we could keep our original filename then this would be a second away.
    Hope somebody has an idea
    thanks

    Hi William,
    I finally had time to play - unfortunately it does
    not work the way you described above.
    I´m just exporting a set of images using the "Stock
    Black" Theme - marked name only - batched the
    filename to masterfile - but the actual picture names
    are still "picture-1.jpg" - "picture-2.jpg".
    did I miss anything? thanks
    I see what you want, you don't care about the screen name so much but want the generated file names to be the same as the version names. From earlier messages though I am not quite sure why this is a problem, since you said other people were picking the images they wanted - say Image1 and 23 and 8. That to me says those people are going through the directory using Finder or Explorer, not using the HTML.
    Is it the case you are giving people web galleries on CD? If so, then perhaps also export a "browse" directory with exported images using the version names, so that people can use the right name.
    Or perhaps it's the case that people are downloading the images from the web, and then using the downloaded file names to send you requests. I'm not sure how to fix this yet and do not know if 1.1 offers something for this.

  • Bridge CS5 Renames Files in HTML Web Gallery

    When creating an HTML Web Gallery (using ‘Lightroom’ template), Bridge CS5 renames the thumbs and large images to an arbitrary number.  The caption reads as the original file name, but the actual image has a new name.  This is problematic, as my clients will right-click selected images from my galleries to save and forward for approval, but the file name is not the same as the original.
    As an example: VLNK0321.jpg is renamed as _4856316150.jpg.  (In Preferences/Output, the "Convert multi-byte file names to Full ASCII" is unchecked.)
    Is there any way to fix this little (for me--BIG) problem?

    Solved!
    This works for Windows.  I imagine the Mac solution is similar. Props to William Zauscher for helping find an answer.
    I take no responsibliity for any damage caused to your computer, Photoshop or Bridge...
    In Windows, browse to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Bridge CS5 Extensions\Adobe  Output Module\mediagallery\resources\scripts
    In the file named "galleryCreator.jsxinc" replace the lines:
    AOM.AmgGalleryCreator.createUniqueFileName = function(filePath, jpgFile,  createMode)
        var alteredName;
        while (true)
             alteredName = "_";
            for (var i=0; i<10; i++)
                 alteredName += Math.floor(Math.random() * 10);
             alteredName += ".jpg";
            var f = new File(filePath +  alteredName);
            if (!f.exists)
                break;
         return alteredName;
    ...with the following:
    AOM.AmgGalleryCreator.createUniqueFileName = function(filePath, jpgFile, createMode)
                    var alteredName;
                    while (true)
                                    alteredName = "_";
                                    alteredName += jpgFile += ".jpg";
                                    var f = new File(filePath + alteredName);
                                    if (!f.exists)
                                                    break;
                    return alteredName;
    You can cut and paste the above.  Just save a version of the original file somewhere in case of screwups...
    Cheers!

  • Sharpening for web gallery output?

    I'm just wondering what you all do to sharpen your images for output to web galleries, since LR doesn't offer this as a possibility.
    I guess one way would be to open the images from the gallery folder and do a batch process in Photoshop. But I'm curious to know if there's a simpler or more efficient way to go about it.

    > I also often post images larger than 800x800 that need a bit more

    > droplets and how you integrate them with your LR workflow?
    In PS, using "Droplets" one can generate operating system level
    executables. They provide a mean to hand image files over to "actions"
    (macros) recorded in PS.
    In order to create an "export action" for LR, one would roughly do the
    following:
    - In PS, record an action which does the following:
    * Apply USM with suitable parameters (like radius 0.9, amount 30,
    treshold 3) to an image already opened in PS.
    * Save for web/save as JPEG (target folder will be hardcoded and thus
    fixed).
    * Close image without saving changes.
    - In PS, select File / Automate / Droplet and create a new droplet
    * Choose an executable file name
    * select the previously recorded action
    * choose target: none (Since we already saved files to JPEG)
    - Put the generated executable or a shortcut/link to it into LR's
    "export action" folder.
    For export with output sharpen, in LR:
    - File / Export
    - Choose some target folder (will be fixed; for temporary image files)
    - file format: PSD or TIFF
    - color space: sRGB (for web export)
    - maximum size: target size as needed, e.G. 1280x1024 for SXGA files
    - export action: select the previously created droplet
    Save these settings as a new export preset (like "SXGA").
    From now on, one would just need to export using that preset. LR would
    render already resized PSD files, start PS, batch sharpen them and save
    JPEG files to the directory chosen while recording the PS action.

  • How to Edit Web Gallery Output from CS5?

    Hello!  I just upgraded from Photoshop CS3 to CS5.  (Got some scrambling to do to catch up!)  I had been using the old File>Automate>Web Photo Gallery to create galleries for my Web site.  Massaged a little in Dreamweaver MX (I know, I know...) they look something like this:
    http://www.techno-imaging.com/gal10spring/alden_b2/index.html
    I found out how to add the old Web Photo Gallery back into Photoshop CS5, but was curious to find out what Bridge CS5 would do with Output>Web Gallery.  I experimented with the Standard template and was mostly happy with the result.  Here's what I got:
    http://www.techno-imaging.com/gal10spring/alden_b2_test1/index.html
    Trouble is I'd like to be able to customize the output a little more than allowed within the template itself.  It looks like the output has Flash, JavaScript, XML, HTML and maybe other programming resources.  I'm fairly familiar with HTML 3 and CSS, but am not a programmer.  Can anybody recommend what high-level editing tools (example: Microsoft Word for fancy text editing) I could use to make some modest tweaks?  The default modules are fine, but I'd at least like to be able to add a link back to my main gallery page like you see at the top right of my old Web Photo Gallery pages.
    Also- are there 3rd party templates for Bridge CS5 Web Gallery?
    Thanks, - Dave

    Hi i7nvd
    Oh my, I missed that completely!  Thanks very much for bringing that to my attention.  In the meantime I found that ACDSee would do a Web gallery that works OK for me.  However I will go back to Bridge Output Web Gallery this afternoon and five it a whirl.  Again, many thanks for jumping in and pointing that out to me.  I appreciate it a lot!
    BTW, thanks for the link to your site built with the Bridge plug-in.  And congratulations on the wedding!

  • Issue Updating Photo Names in Web Gallery

    There is a sync issue with Web Galleries when the photo name is updated in iPhoto while another update is occurring simultaneously. The changes made in iPhoto are lost.
    The 7.0.2 Update does not fix this issue.
    It seems there should be the option to "update now" and make the web gallery look just like the iPhoto version.
    Anyone else have this issue?

    pschlampp:
    Welcome to the Apple Discussions. The syncing works correctly for me. Try clearing out the iPhoto Cache folders that are in your User/Library/Caches folder and delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist that's in the User/Library/Preferences folder. See if that will let you update titles as intended.

  • No photo names in Web Gallery

    I just uploaded a web gallery (password protected) and after going to the trouble of putting names on all the photos in iPhoto (prior to the upload) was disappointed to see none in my corresponding web gallery.
    What gives?

    Click on the Setting button in the toolbar for your gallery and make sure you have the option to include titles checked.
    Hint: You can put the description of the photos in the description field in the Info pane at the bottom of the source window and then use this script to batch copy them to the Name field before publishing the gallery. Then when you want to revert back to the original file name just use the Photos->Batch Change->Title to File Name.

  • XSL, XML, and Metadata Names in Web Gallery Templates

    I don't know exactly how to ask the question, but what I want to do is customize the information that appears below a full-size image in an HTML web gallery. For the existing HTML gallery templates, this is the area where "caption" data is placed. You can display just about anything you want there, but you are essentially limited to a single line with no ability to format spacing. I would like to be able to show mutiple lines and format the way I want, which would be pretty easy in HTML.
    I have created a custom web gallery, and I have learned where in the transformer.xslt file the caption information is placed. However, I do not know what the metadata field names are, or more importantly how to place them in HTML. Does anyone here know enough about XSL to give me hand? Any kind of direction would be greatly appreciated.

    Try John Nack's blog
    there was some initial info there.
    Also Sean McCormack has done a lot of work on hacking the templates

  • Changing Virtual Copy Names in Web Gallery

    I have been creating web galleries in LR for clients for purposes of online editing. This hasn't been a problem until today when I was creating multiple copies of images using Virtual Copy. I realized when I create a web gallery the images with multiple versions all have the same name in the gallery. So there might be 3 versions of one image (a color, a BW, a sepia tone for example) with the same name.
    I.e., if I have an image called "001.cr2" that is full frame and then I create a virtual copy that is cropped, in the web gallery they are both called "001.CR2" instead of "001_01.CR2", or some such thing.
    I need some way for my client to differentiate btwn the two files during their online editing. Is there a way to do this without exporting the files and then re-importing to create the gallery?
    Thanks in advance.
    Ryan Donnell

    When you create the virtual copies specify unique copy names for them in the metadata, e.g., "bw", "sepia", etc.
    Then in the Web module in the Image Info panel, edit the title and/or caption fields to include the copy name as part of the filename or caption. Each image in the web gallery will then have a unique name tag to reference. If you don't want to use copy names (why not, they sure are useful for other things as well), Image # would also work.

  • How can I set the file name and folder for output to PDF from another application?

    I am developing an application in Microsoft Access where the printed reports are to be saved in PDF format for archive purposes. I can send the output to Adobe X, but the default file name is the Access report name and the folder selected is the one last used.
    What I need to do is to create the file with a specific name (which changes for each run) and to a specific folder (which also changes for each run).
    The language I'm using is Visual Basic for Applications which is located in an Access form that controls the report production.
    Any suggestions, please?

    Got it - many thanks.

  • Need to reference file name within the XML Output

    Not sure if this is possible, as I'm new to the livecycle/XML world. But I need to be able to reference a file within the XML output from the PDF.
    The Scenario is that a pdf form of a business card will be issued to 50 franchisees for them to type in their names and mobiles, click submit and the XML file to be sent to myself, and be imported in to InDesign populating their data ready for printing. Up to here I have it working perfectly.
    However as each franchisee have a combination of up to 5 logos to place in the bottom corner to save having to have various templates with different combinations of logos and having to ensure the correct templates are used. I intend to reference each companies combination as an EPS and make the reference within the xml out and have it import directly in with the other data. I can type the code directly within the xml but I would like to have the form reference it directly in the xml output. Is this possible or am expecting to much of livecycle? Any help/advice greatly appreciated.
