File name not showing in grid view

I just upgraded to LR 5.4 and I noticed that now when I am in grid view, only the capture date and dimensions show on the image when I run my cursor over it. I used to get a quick pop-up with the file name, capture date & dimensions, so I can quickly see where I am in my numbering system. I have looked at the preferences and also in view, but it is not apparent to me where it went, plus I know I didn't change anything, intentionally.
BTW, I also upgraded to Mavericks OS on my iMac, but I hope that is not what is wrong. I know Adobe put out a bunch of "patches" for Bridge, etc. but I have already downloaded and updated all that.

When you are in Library module/Grid mode, the text that appears in the hovering action is controlled by the Info Overlay. The Info Overlay has three states: Off, Info 1 and Info 2.
Go to View>Loupe Overlay and put a check mark next to the Overlay you wish to be active and your hovering enabled text will change to match that text.

The dark bar is caused by the option "Show metadata below image".
Check the settings for the metadata overlays in Grid view (basic and expanded) by clicking the little "badge" icon below the Browser and selecting "Edit". Is the filename still enabled in the list? And in a high enough position to have precedence for other metadata tags, if the space does not suffice to show all selected tags?

PSE 5.0.2 - Vista 64-Bit - File Name Not Showing Up In Editor Title

Hello...
I'm running PSE 5.0.2 on Vista 64-bit.
When I open a file, the name of the file doesn't show up in the Editor title (upper left hand corner of screen). It just says Editor - Photoshop Elements 5.0
So I don't know whether the file is a .psd or .jpg or whatever unless I look at the photo bin.
How do I get the file name to show up in the Editor title?

Why does it matter, when you are editing, whether the file is .jpg or .psd or something else?

File name not showing up at RIP from Intel Pro

I have both G4 and newer Pro G5 running CS3. If I send an ID file to the RIP from my G4 the file name will appear correctly in the Queue window. If I send an ID file from my newer Pro Intel it shows the printer name (ie 1800) but not the file name. This makes it hard to identify different jobs at the RIP. I've looked at my Print & Fax System preferences and they seem to be the same. Any ideas? Thanks, Roger

I just upgraded my G4 to CS3 from CS2 where I had no problem. The G4 has no problem even with CS3. I thought it was probably a CS3 issue until I upgraded, not an Intel issue. I may be wrong.

DW File Names Not Visible in Local View?

Hi, in Dreamweaver CS4 in the bottom right of the UI is the (Files > Local View) It shows a list of the files in you website. The files were appearing just fine but now all I can see is the DW icon for each file unless I hover over the file to see what it says. Before the whole file name was easily visible. I’ve never had this happen before.
Anyone know what’s up with this and how I can fix this?

File names not showing up

I am running Audition 3.0 on a BRAND NEW HP Envy running Windows 8.1 For the last month AA 3.0 has been working
fantastic until just this morning when I opened a file and it appeared on my timeline just fine.
BUT, the name of the file did not appear on the upper left hand portion of the screen - nothing, nada, blank.
This is causing a TREMENDOUS slowdown, need to get this fixed...any solutions???

Clip names not showing in project view FCPX

I have multiple iMacs running FCPX and on one the project is showing only the word 'video' for the clip names. How do I get it to show the actual clips name?

Some sender names not showing in Mailbox view, but show in e-mail window

Some of the e-mails I receive instead of having the sender name appear in the From column in my inbox have their e-mail address appear instead. They are people who are in my Address Book with that e-mail address, and their name does appear in the From line in the e-mail itself.
Is there some setting I need to change so that their name appears in the From column instead of their e-mail address? Thanks!

I am seeing very similar behavior. For me, when I view the message in the list of all messages in the InBox window, for a few senders only the e-mail address is displayed. However, when I select that mail message, the person's name is properly displayed in the message viewing panel.

In Photoshop Elements 8-I want the file name to show when viewing Thumbnails and not just dates.

Anyway, if it's the organizer look under the View menu to enable the data that is shown under the thumbnails.

Sort downloads by file name not type?

Wondering if anyone can help me here. I'm trying to either make a script or automator workflow that will sort my downloads by file name, not file type.
To cut to the point, I'd like say Reno 911, The Daily Show and the Colbert Report to go to a Comedy Central folder, My shows to go to my folder and my wife's to go to hers, just keep the downloads tidy as they come in instead of having to clean the downloads folder manually every day.
There a easy way to do this?

Why not have two separate user accounts - your's and your wife's. Then she can select her own download folder in Safari preferences, and you can select yours. Set up the folder to display in List View and click on the Name column as the sort column (twice for descending order.)

Problem with Css styles not showing in live view or when i browse

I am using Mac osx 10.6 and building website with Dreamweaver CS5. Sometimes div tags i create not showing styles or rendering in live view or when I browse but showing in design view. I looked in dreamwever faq and they talk about not showing in design view to toggle the display styles. That is not the problem becuase it is check marked and I tried turning off and turning on and made no difference.I am using firefox browser.
It happened before the other day too. But all of my other pages in this site that i have created the same way building with div tags and css styles. So not sure what the problem is. Maybe someone has a suggestion here.

When filtering by keyword and using "Edit In" with Photoshop, edited file does not show up in list

When I do an "edit in" using CS5 and save it, the edited file does not show up in my LR4 preview window.

There are two distinct modes by which Edit In... may first open an image into PS: as a fully pre-converted rendered file; or as an on-the-fly converted image in memory.
(When LR opens a PS-edited image a second time into PS, using "Edit Original", the former option is always used.)
In the latter case, it is ACR which does this on-the-fly conversion, working from the original image (as imported into LR) plus your subsequent LR adjustment metadata. This means ACR compatibility with LR becomes an issue - as it is not, with the pre-rendered file option.
There is a useful clue to which mode is being used:
the title of the PS document window, in the case of the on-the-fly conversion, still shows the name of the Raw file (or whatever) that you started with in LR... no file has been saved as yet, to say any different. You can Save or Save as, wherever and under whatever name, and from now on LR will look there for your edited image. Or if you close unsaved, LR has no edited image to show at all.
the title of the PS document window in the pre-rendered case, is the name of a file already saved on disk and already showing in LR. If you then saved this elsewhere, you would merely make a duplicate which LR cannot know about - and if this duplicate is the one which contains your PS work, LR will accordingly not show that. It is busy showing the content of the specific file that was passed to PS.
So, if inside CS5 your document is called something like IMG23334.dng - you can save it wherever you like. If inside CS5 your document is called something like IMG23334-edit.tif - you will have to save your changes back to that exact same file, in order for them to be seen in LR.

Keywords Not Showing In Grid

Hello Everyone--
I've created a custom metadata view called "Rating, Name & Keywords" under View Options. When I choose it as either Set 1 or Set 2 under "View" everything shows up just fine. However, when I choose it under "Grid" the rating and name show up okay, but the keywords only appear on a very small percentage of my photographs. Anyone else experience this or have a possible solution?

I believe I've answered my own question--Seems if the thumbnails are too small and the number of keywords chosen is too long, they won't show in grid view. I thought at least the firs couple would show, but they don't.

File name not importing into iPhoto

I keep my photos on an external disk and import them from that disk into iPhoto. When I import, sometimes the file name is imported into the caption field and sometimes it does not.
Any ideas why? I have search for others posts but can't find any. I did check the permissions of the files representing both results and the permissions are the same.

What is displayed in the title field under the thumbnails?
Have you tried selecting the offending photos, going to the Photos->Batch Change menu and selecting Title to File Name option?
