File names aren't shown in file browser when uploading or downloading documents

When I try to upload or download a document, on various websites, the file browser window that pops up has no file names or any other information other than the icons. Mousing over a file brings up the size, date modified etc but not the file name. If I right-click the icon and open up the file properties, all the information is there except the file name, which is blank. Changing the view (list vs icons, for instance) changes nothing. Am using Firefox 35 and Windows 8. Problem did not occur with earlier versions of Firefox.

In order to better assist you with your issue please provide us with a screenshot. If you need help to create a screenshot, please see [[How do I create a screenshot of my problem?]]
Once you've done this, attach the saved screenshot file to your forum post by clicking the '''Browse...''' button below the ''Post your reply'' box. This will help us to visualize the problem.
Thank you!
When the window comes up, what view are you using? Have you
tried to change the view? At the end of the input field, can you select
all files?

  • How can I change the report file name depending on which seq file is run in the main seq?

    I'm using TestStand 3.0.
    I have a main sequence file with a menu option to select one of several sequence files to run.

  • Get file name/path of current .cfm file...

    i am going to make a "tracking" script for a website.  my idea is to add a <CFINCLUDE> to every .cfm file on the server (right at the end, so it would be easier to remove when im done), and have the script that is included add a record to a database that contains the file name/path of the .cfm file.  for example, index.cfm will include trackscript.cfm, and after the index.cfm is processed, a database will have a record in it containing the file name/path for index.cfm.
    i am new to coldfusion, but i think i have everything figured out, except how to get the name of the file that will be added to the database.  is there some kind of function or variable available that will give me the filename of the currently executing .cfm file?

    I don't think sticking a <cfinclude> call into every file is really a very good way of doing this.
    You should have a look at using onRequestEnd() for this sort of thing.
    There are various variables in the CGI scope which one can use to build the originating URL of the current request; CGI.script_name and CGI.query_string are probably the most helpful here.  One can resolve the underlying file system path form a URL using expandPath().

If there is an error divide the original group into smaller chunks until you can isolate which tracks are causing a problem.

  • File Names and Ratings not showing in browser or viewer

    I seem to have a bug where Aperture sometimes fails to show the file names or their rating.
    This happens in both Browser & viewer modes. Just the blank background.
    I can see the name in the Metadata tab, but not underneath the files.
    Any ideas

    I'm having a similar problem. The U key is active and the photo name (referenced from Finder) shows up. But I can't get the ratings to show up. From what the instruction manual says, I should see the stars in the lower LH corner, but I don't see anything. I've looked to see if there is a way to make them show or hide, but haven't found it.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks, Sue

  • Export: In the Save as dialog, the file name is always shown as Crystalviewer instead of the report nameu00A0

    CA Forum: Exporting
    hi,
    we are using crystal report server XI. in this i am not able  to export a report with particular report name. see the following steps.
    Generate a report. Click the Export icon.Select the format in which the report has to be stored and click Ok button
    Expected Behavior:The Save As form with the report name as file name should be displayed
    Actual BehaviorFile download window is displayed showing the name of report as crystalviewer.rpt and when Save button is clicked, the Save AS dialog with the filename as Crystalviewer is displayed.The user has to specify a meaningful report name

    Post Author: foghat
    CA Forum: Exporting
    This sounds about right, I can't recall if I've never seen Crystal default to the .rpt name when exporting a report.  In developer XI, reports saved on the enterprise server have some crazy long non-nonsensical unique identifier on export.  If the report is saved locally, it just gives untitled.xxx on export. That said, I find the users usually end up renaming the report file name anyways, so not a big issue.

  • How to get the read input file name in bpel process using File Adapter.

    Hi,
    I am reading a .txt file from configured directory using File Adapter.
    I had configured file adapter to read file with naming pattern “SalesOrder.*\.txt”.
    Now I had requirement to access the actual file name in bpel process eg: “SalesOrder123.txt”
    How can I get the file name in bpel process.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Vidya.

    1) create a variable of message type. Click on Browse Message type. Here you select Message Type-->Project WSDL Files -->fileAdapterInboundHeader-->Message Types-->Inboundheader_msg. Then click OK
    2)Next dbl Click on teh receive Activity which is receing your File from teh File Adapter. Go to the Adapter Tab. Click on Browse variable and select the variable that you had just created above.
    This would get the File name in the variable declared

  • How can i add a file name(the text of the file name) as a child node to existing node in a treeView1 ?

    bool exists = false;
    TreeNode newNodeParsed = null;
    TreeNode rootNode = treeViewMS1.Nodes[0];
    TreeNode nextNode = rootNode;
    string f = Path.GetFileName(txtUploadFile.Text);
    TreeNode subnode = new TreeNode(txtDir.Text);
    TreeNode filename = new TreeNode(f);
    if (!txtDir.Text.Contains("/"))
    foreach (TreeNode node in rootNode.Nodes)
    if (node.Text == txtDir.Text)
    exists = true;
    break;
    if (exists == true)
    subnode.Nodes.Add(f);
    else
    rootNode.Nodes.Add(subnode);
    subnode.Nodes.Add(f);
    The rootNode is the root directory in the treeView1
    subnode is a node inside the root. For example the subnode name is manuelisback
    I'm checking if the subnode exist i want to add the file for example (lightning1.jpg) to be under subnode.
    If the subnode is not existing add the subnode to the root and then add the file name lightning1.jpg under the subnode.
    But the file name is never added under the subnode:
    I added manualy the lightning1.jpg under test.
    But the lightning1.jpg also should be added to be under manuelisback. There should be two lightning1.jpg here.
    One under manuelisback and one under test. The one under test i added manualy from my ftp server.
    But the one i want to be under manuelisback i'm trying to add from my program and it dosen't add it to there.
    And when i'm using a breakpoint i see on subnode the text manuelisback and i see on f the text lightning1.jpg

    If I understand your question correctly, you might want to try changing:
    if (!txtDir.Text.Contains("/"))
    foreach (TreeNode node in rootNode.Nodes)
    if (node.Text == txtDir.Text)
    exists = true;
    break;
    if (exists == true)
    subnode.Nodes.Add(f);
    else
    rootNode.Nodes.Add(subnode);
    subnode.Nodes.Add(f);
    to something like:
    if (!txtDir.Text.Contains("/"))
    foreach (TreeNode node in rootNode.Nodes)
    if (node.Text == txtDir.Text)
    subnode = node;
    exists = true;
    break;
    if (exists == true)
    subnode.Nodes.Add(f);
    else
    rootNode.Nodes.Add(subnode);
    subnode.Nodes.Add(f);
    rootNode.Nodes.Add(f);
    It would be greatly appreciated if you would mark any helpful entries as helpful and if the entry answers your question, please mark it with the Answer link.

  • Setting Date value in File Name while scheduling report to File System

    I am trying to set the file name as %SI_Name% Current Date.extension in Destination section while scheduling a crystal report to File system.
    So in Use Specific Name section i have added %SI_NAME% %SI_STARTTIME%.%EXT%.
    Schedule works fine for me and I get the document in the file location with name  'Title 2009-06-26-12-53-17.pdf".
    But I dont want time to be printed in the title, so the title should be "Title 2009-06-26.pdf". How i can achieve this.

  • Consolidating Library Error: File Name Too Long, But What File?

    I am trying to consolidate my library to put all my music (very unorganized) in one spot so I can back it all up. When I try to consolidate, it takes a second to prepare, then immediately brings up an error window saying "Copying Music Failed. The file name was invalid or too long."
    How do I fix this? I really would like to back up my music!

    Hi, ZeroGravity107.
    This can be a tricky problem to figure out since iTunes doesn't specify what file name is "invalid or too long" and there's no documentation on what determines if a file name is "invalid or too long".
    We had one user report that he was able to use his/her keen eyesight to note the last file that appeared before the error message appeared and it turned out that file was the cause of his/her trouble.
    If your eyesight isn't that keen, I'd suggest concentrating on the file name being too long possibility.
    The entire directory path leading to the file is considered part of the file name so, as an example, iTunes' default settings might place a particular file at C:\Documents and Settings\ user name \My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\artist folder\album folder\whatever.m4a.
    Is the directory path leading to your consolidated location much longer than that?
    polydorus has suggested a way to look over your file names: Assuming your music is currently in the default location, make your way there with Windows Explorer and select List in the View menu menu and see if anything stands out as being unusual.

  • Using sqlldr to load XML files and the file name ?  or access the file name

    I can use sqlldr to load the XML files when I declare the target table of XMLTYPE, but I need to load the filename and a sequence also with the XML in a table so we can mark wether the file passed validation or not.
    something like ....
    Create table test1
    lobfn varchar(200),
    load_number number,
    XML_COL XMLTYPE
    --------------- here is my sqlldr command
    sqlldr xml_user/xml_user load_test1.ctl
    LOAD DATA
    INFILE *
    INTO TABLE test1
    append
    xmltype(XML_COL)
    lobfn FILLER char TERMINATED by ',',
    XML_COL LOBFILE(lobfn) TERMINATED BY EOF
    BEGINDATA
    filename1.xml
    filename2.xml
    filename64.xml
    sqlldr comes back and says "commit point reached - logical record count 64
    but when I select count(*) from test1; it returns 0 rows.
    and when I
    SELECT X.* FROM tst1 P2,
    XMLTable ( '//XMLRoot//APPLICATION'
    PASSING P2.XML_COL
    COLUMNS
    "LASTNAME" CHAR(31) PATH 'LASTNAME',
    "FIRSTNAME" CHAR(31) PATH 'FIRSTNAME'
    ) AS X;
    It tells me invalid identifier ,
    Do I need to use a function to get the XML_COL as a object_value ???
    But when I create the table like
    create table test1 of XMLTYPE;
    and use sqlldr it works, but I dont have the file name, or dont know how to access it ??
    and I can use
    SELECT X.* FROM tst1 P2,
    XMLTable ( '//XMLRoot//APPLICATION'
    PASSING P2.object_value
    COLUMNS
    "LASTNAME" CHAR(31) PATH 'LASTNAME',
    "FIRSTNAME" CHAR(31) PATH 'FIRSTNAME'
    ) AS X;
