File No Longer Loads

I have a series of authorware files that I inherited.
Unfortunately, I do not have the source files for these files, just
the files that are published to play in the Web Player (.aam/.aas
files). I believe they were made in Authorware 6.
These files played fine for about 4 years. Recently, they
stopped launching. The files have not moved. I have them sitting on
a server in the same place that they have always been. If you
double click on the the html file that launches the course, it just
sits there. Nothing happens.
I own many other Authorware files that I created in
Authorware 7. These files are also packaged for the Web Player and
work perfectly.
I am only having the problem with these older Authorware
files. We did recently download some Microsoft patches and switch
to IE7.
Has anyone encountered anything similar to this?

IE 7 could well be the issue.
Take a look at the HTML code for the web-packaged course that
is not
working and compare it to the HTML code for the ones that are
working.
You likely don't want to change the player reference (though
maybe that
is a solution, but not yet) - but do check to see what may be
different.
What 'just sits there'. Does the 'loading' dialog come up
then do
nothing, or does absolutely nothing show up in the HTML?
No server upgrades? MIME Types exist for .aam files on the
server?

My copy of CS 5 no longer loads. get a message stating ".... could not initialize Photoshop because the preferences file is invalid 9 it was deleted ) " how do I fix this ????

If its just that the Preference files are corrupt you can have Photoshop Delete them and generate a new set. Start PS an immediately press and hold Ctrt+Alt+Shift reply yes to Photoshop Prompt about deleting your preferences.

Gif files takes long time to load..!!

Hi,
I found the gif/jpg files takes long time ( more than 5 or 6 seconds depends on size ) to render on JavaHelp viewer EditorPane.. I am using JDK 1.3 / Win 2000 / 256 MB / 1 GHz Pentium. Also found JVM uses 90% of the system resources while loading the pic files. I have noticed it as a JDK 1.3 bug from another thread.

I would convert your images to JPegs if possible since they are so much smaller in size and therefore load much quicker. I had exactly the same problem but I sorted it out this way. I know it's a pain and it will probably screw up your view, but it will speed up your load time ten-fold and I don't know of any other work around. sorry...

Problem of long loading and processing file in outlook 2010 of domain user

I have a problem on long loading and processing file when every open outlook 2010
This problem occur when I join my computer to domain (window server 2008 r2) and set outlook of domain user to use shared .pst file, owner by administrator of that computer. Every time when log in to domain user and I open the outlook, it will take very
long time to loading and processing the file, moreover it always ask password of the email I have set. However, when I finish input password and it is finish send/receive the email, the program work normally.
I also try with another user account which is the administrator of that computer, the program run very fast and work normally.
I am not sure the problem is caused from, or is it the wrong way to share .pst file with another user? Any suggestions please give to me.

Long load times and poor application performance

We have packaged and deployed Adobe CC using SCCM within my school division. It pushed out fine, but now when we attempt to open Photoshop (or any other CC app) it has unusually long load times. 2-4 minutes. It seems to be hanging at the "Reading preferences" stage. After the application appears to have started, it takes an unusually long time to actually start working in the application (it appears to just hang).

EXE's always bundle additional files because it is a stand-alone entity. And, if the size 9GB then it will surely take time to load all the files. I'll check with the team again on how we can optimize it. BTW, are the videos inserted as slide video or Event video?

Long Load Times on Graphic Intensive Games

I'm experiencing some absurdly long load times (1-3 hours) with many games (SPORE, Portal, X:3, etc...) that I believe may be related to how graphically intensive they are. Older games with lower graphics quality (WoW, Civ 4, etc...) load up fine.
When I load any newer game the icon appears in the tray and the computer does nothing else for at least an hour, whereupon the program loads and begins playing immediately--often without any further delays or issues.
I also use Boot Camp to run Windows Vista (Ultimate 32) and experience no delays when running SPORE on Windows.

That's old info for the HDD space--I've purchased an external, so my main drive stays plenty free, now.

Large file takes long time to open

I'm not an Illustrator user. I work in IT. One of our Illustrator users is complaining that it takes about 10 to 15 minutes to open a 500MB file. She has the latest hardware and 4 GBs of RAM on Windows 7. She is on the latest version of CS5. I just installed it a month ago. CS4 was doing the same thing, so we bought new hardware and CS5. I'm wondering if this is normal for such a large file to take this long to open?

John is probably on to something, but then again it may be normal even when opened locally - AI's memory management simply isn't that great and it also doesn't progressively render partially opened files, so it waits for the whole file to be loaded before even giving you a shred of a preview, which, depending on what features are used, by itself can take forever....

Itunes will no longer load on my computer. I tried reloading it, but that did not work either

Itunes will not longer load, how do I troubleshoot the issue?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

My files no longer sort properly - files beginning with AEIOU come before

My files no longer sort properly - files beginning with AEIOU come first after numbers and special characters, then letters H, K, M-N, P, W, B-D and so on. I click on the column header again and it reverses the sort, but still messed up. This convoluted sort appears in all views. All the letters are grouped together, so all the "a"s, "e"s, etc are being sorted by some algorithm, but it's not alphabetical. I noticed it after installation of Snow Leopard, but it could have been that way before. I did a wipe and load and just imported user settings from Time Machine afterwards. Any suggestions on how I can fix this?

Usually, it is (1) a preference file located here
<user home folder>/Library/Preferences/
In this case, the problem is not just Finder if it also happens in Mail. Unfortunately, there are a lot of preference files.
Or it is (2) a background process that runs when you log in to your account. If it is something that starts automatically, it may be one of your Login Items. You can look at System Preferences Accounts pane +Login Items+ tab. That list shows processes that run when you log in to that account. If you see anything that you no longer need, you should remove it. Look for anything there that might, for whatever reason, change the alphabetical sort order.
Make sure English is selected as language in System Preferences +Language & Text+ pane. It seem improbable that it would not be, but I just noticed there is a setting at the bottom of that pane that says +Order of sorted lists+. Does that have something other than English ?

Track flat files that failed loading in sql loader

Hi,
Can anyone please suggest me any way to track the flat files which failed while loading in sql loader. And pass this failed flat file name to any column of a database table

Define failed. 1 row not loaded ... no rows not loaded ... what operating system ... what version of the Oracle database ... track in a table, send an email?
Your inquiry is long on generalities and short on specifics: Fill in all the blanks ... not just the ones I've listed above.
even if 1 row is not loaded even then it should be considered failed to load and the name of the that particular flat file should be fetched.
Operating system is unix
Oracle database we are using is R12
track in a table , yeah we want to send an email notificaiton whenever the flat files fails to load.

Loading from text file using Sql Loader

I need to load data from a text file into Oracle table. The file has long strings of text in the following format:
12342||||||Lots and lots of text with all kinds of characters including
^&*!#%#^@ etc.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyytrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurtgggggggggggggggg.||||||||
45356|||||||||||again lots and lots of text.uuuuuudccccccccccccccccccccd

There are pipes within the text as well. On the above example, the line starting with 12342 is an entire record that needs to be loaded into a CLOB column. The next record would be the 45356 one. Therefore, all records have a bunch of pipes at the end, so the only way to know where a new record starts is to see where the next number is after all the ending pipes. The only other thing I know is that there are a fixed number of pipes in each record.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can load the data into the table either using sql loader or any other utility? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Itunes store will no longer load

after the latest update itunes store will no longer load ive tried re-downloading and choosing the reinstall fix and replace damaged files and what not... i dont know what else to do.

just uninstalled ALL of itunes and reinstalled and it still does the same thing just the accessing itunes store at the top and itunes in the middle... i tried the autorun thing but there were only apple stuff under the tab

Photoshop elements no longer loads and closes after

I recently upgraded my Lightroom to 5.4 and now my Photoshop elements no longer loads properly. Once I start the program is gets to the Organize and Edit screen and if I choose Organize the program immediately closes. Any ideas since I seem to no longer be able to just call Adobe and talk to a real person and get an immediate answer.

Try trashing any preference files Elements creates: user/Library/Preferences. Other than that try re-installing the software. You could also ask on the Adobe forum area at their web site.
