Seeking guidance on resolving the above issue encountered while attempting to work through the "embracing extends" exercise from the March/April Oracle Mag. I cannot establish the connection to the scott schema after checking and rechecking the connection properties. The warning message appears in the status window.

P.S.: The apologies get deeper! I just realized an occurrence when running the script to create the EMP table. Though I ran this through SQL*Plus, at the conclusion, an instance of a (soon to expire) trial version of MySQL popped up. That explains how I was able to create the tables, absent Oracle XE.

Downloading file not the correct contents

When I select the test.cfm link, a dialog box appears asking to either Save or Open the file.
The issue is the file, test.cfm, contents is not what is being saved or displayed when Open is selected.
Is there something I'm missing?

War file not running in content server

i created a site using jdeveloper and deployed it as .WAR file and created a JSP security Group in cs and checked in my .WAR file with jsp Security group.When i click on cs->jsp Server Web App Admin->and click my .war file,it is showing follwing error message.
Content Server Request Failed
Error csJspServerErrorAddWebAppService Failed to add context /cs/groups/sitestudio/documents/document/~edisp/MyApp. Web application exist but unavailable. Please check JSP server log file.

I am running a similar configuration at another customer and it's working okay for us. What application server are you using? You say that the portals are configured in a cluster. Is this an application server cluster? If so, then the portlet should get deployed to all nodes in the cluster if the cluster is configured correctly. I would suggest that you try deploying a simple WAR file to the cluster and see if it is deployed correctly. A restart of the cluster may be needed to make sure that all of the cluster nodes synchronize with the DAS.

Content Manager File not found Error

Hi
We have a 3442 IP/TV Server running IP/TV version 5.2 and CE 566 running ACNS 5.2. I can view the Scheduled Live Capture from a VCR connected to the IP/TV Server program from the IP/TV Viewer. But when I create an On Demand Program and try to view it from the IP/TV Viewer, get an error "File not found in Content Manager Database". The Content Engine is running in the program manager mode. Am I missing something here? I'd appreciate assistance with this issue. Thanks.

Not able to import files in shared workspace pages

Hi,
I have created a new native user. When i login using this user in workspace iam not able to see Import, export option in file Menu.
Basically i want to import files in shared workspace pages

They will require Content Publisher/Content Manager role.

How to save the contents of a file(not a text file)

Hi all, I want to save the contents of a file(,png file, not a text file) as a field in a class. Shall I have it as a string or byte array or something?
I have tried saving a file in a string but there were some problems with loading the file from a different platform. Following is my code.

You should use a byte array, and the binary streams (InputStream a& OutputStream). Never use Strings and Reader/Writer if you have binary data.

File created with Document Content Type will not be saved back to Sharepoint library

Recently some of our users, after upgrading to Windows 8.1 with Office 2013, intermittantly are not able to save files created using document content types template back to sharepoint library. Instead the location is set
to their local storage. The same templates used by Windows 7 users with Office 2010 are working fine. Setting the SP sites as Trusted location in IE and Clearing IE Cache did not help. Adding the SP site in Word Trusted Location did
not help. Any suggestions how this can be resolved is appreciated. Thanks.

According to your post, my understanding is that you could not save office file back to the SharePoint Document library.
It may have to something with your Word Settings. When you click new and it opens in MS Word, word treats it as unsafe because perhaps it is not saved. To make it work:
Go to Word (2013) -> File Menu -> Options -> Trust Center -> Trust Center Settings
-> Protected View Tab -> Uncheck "Enable Protected View for files located in potentially unsafe locations" (2nd option)

If the issue persist, you can also check the event log and ULS log to see if anything unexpected occurred.
To check event log, click the Start button and type “Event Viewer” in the Search box.

Try disabilng the Enable Disk Use option from under the iPod's Summary tab, applying the changes, and seeing if that helps.
Otherwise, temporarily disabling any antivirus, security, firewall, or file indexing software that may be running on your system and then try restoring your iPod again.

Well, I'm afraid I'm not going to be a lot of help. From what I see, if everything is installed correctly it should be working. I know that there has been a few challenges associated with Vista, but I don't know enough about that aspect to really comment. I'm still using Windows XP.
As far as Camera Raw is concerned, there have been four updates since CS3 was released. If you haven't done any updates you are probably in for a pleasant surprise. New controls have been added that most people have found to be quite valuable. The most current version of Camera Raw is 4.3.1. The first thing I would suggest is for you to download that update and get it installed and see it that makes a difference.
I know you indicated that you don't want to have to do a lot of fine tuning of the program. But Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) is updated frequently, and you always want to make sure you have the most current version. If the new version of ACR doesn't resolve your issues the problem "might" be related to Vista. And I'm afraid I cannot help you with that at all.

File IO - how to read file (not contents)

hello, i need to stream the file (everything, not just the contents) into a stream cipher in J2ME. the cipher (using BouncyCastle's API) has already been written, but i need to somehow stream the bytes of the file into it.
how do i do that?
and then, how do i pass in the decrypted stream into a media player to play the audio stream?

I am using the Java code inside the BPEL. In BPEL by using the Java embedding activity, I am calling the java class code. Please follow the below steps to achieve this
1. Create a Java project in jdeveloper and write the java code to read and extract contents of a zip file.
2. Create a zip file for java code
3. To use the java code in your BPEL. Please copy the java code zip file in soa composite SCA-INF\lib folder location
4. Now by using the java embedding activity and some required java package call the required the java class in BPEL

Refreshing page will not update the content referred JavaScript file of html in WebKit on Mac OS X 10.10.2

In our project, we use WebKit framework to visit a local HTML file which contains reference to JavaScript file. Our users can modify the JavaScript file and then refresh the page to see the change which works fine until we come up to Mac OS X 10.10.2. It seems that the referred JavaScript file is cached and can be never updated except restarting application. We have already set cache policy to “NSURLRequestReloadIgnoringLocalCacheData”. However it didn’t work.
Besides there is a similar issue on Safari of Mac OS X 10.10.2. I find that refreshing the HTML in Safari will not renew the content of referred JavaScript file after modifying it. I have tried to check "disable caches" option, but it still didn't work. The behavior is different from OS X 10.10.1. Maybe it is a defect on OS X 10.10.2. Did anyone meet such issue? Is there any solution?

The web process user is "_www"… that's without the " and with the _.

I have just tried it and got a report with all the contents as expected.
We have had a problem with the database server that we have just cleared which may have slowed the system down and caused the report to fail - Try again and see if it works .
I will check the logs to see if there is another issue.

ERR-7621 Could not determine workspace.

Dear all
I'm getting the following error in my application:
Expecting p_company or wwv_flow_company cookie to contain security group id of application owner.
Error ERR-7621 Could not determine workspace for application (:) on application accept. The application is an internet based one (using https://) that uploads documents from users PC's into a database. It is the upload page where this error is encountered. All other pages work as expected.
It is maybe worth noting that this process does work in our development environment (which isn't internet based).
I get the same error in both FireFox and IE (v6-8).
Can anyone point me in the direction or provide any information that may help resolve this?

there is an update on this - I have been able to upload certain files using the https:// url. At first I thought that it was just certain file types (.doc, .txt) that could be uploaded, or the size of the files but know I think it is the content of the actual files that is causing the error. I have uplaoded .doc, .txt, .rtf when the content of the files is just basic text with CR LF. As soon as I attempt to upload a .doc with tables or formatted text I get the error again using the https:// url. Using the local http:// url the same document uploads.
For further investigations, I've taken a new page with just the APEX file browse button on it.
I can now upload certain types of docs, e.g. .doc temporary files (which I'm guessing hasn't got all the meta data associated with them - hence why they work), .txt files, octet-stream
If you look at the HTTP traffic for a successful upload we get:
Content-Disposition: form-data; name="p_t01"; filename="upload"
Content-Type: application/octet-stream

but, a failure generates:
Content-Disposition: form-data; name="p_t01"; filename="load.doc"

the above document was just a blank work document (no inputted text).
The encoding when the same document is uploaded locally is the same as far as I can see:

so, I was wondering if this kind of request is being rejected or skewed by the front facing web server for example - but not sure how to prove this?

Error: Include file not found: /globalinclude.html

Does anyone have any idea why I would be getting this error everytime I try to make or build my workspace, project or any jsp file within JDev? I have no reference to /globalinclude.html and have never even seen this file anywhere before.

Teri,
The reference is made in ojsp-global-include.xml in your WEB-INF directory.
globalinclude.html should be located in your html root (default .../public_html) and its content is:
<% request.setCharacterEncoding("windows-1252");%>.
with the correct encoding of course.

From what you have described for Test 1, 2, and 3, I get the impression that you are OK with a new project, but that your are having problems with these saved projects.
At this point, I think it important for you to keep a log of the project details to avoid confusion.
Test #3.
I am going to start with that Test 3 that was a new project, but almost successful (made it to about the 93% mark before transcoding error set in). I suspect that different factors are involved here than what brought you to the forum. Focus Step 12 in Test #3 where you said that you edited the movie line. How did you edit..added transitions, effects, titles, other? What was the length of the Timeline content? What DVD menu template did you use (how many main menu pages and how many scene menu pages)? When you went to Share/Disc/Disc and the burn dialog there, what did it say in the Quality Area of the burn dialog for Space Required and Bitrate? Also, at this time what did your computer show for available RAM and free hard drive space? Where were your scratch files (Edit Menu/Preferences/Scratch Disks) directed and did that drive have enough free space to meet the task?

Your success with this new project was expected. It would be nice to know what kind of .avi that you used, but, whatever they were, they worked to give you your DVD-VIDEO. What was the length of the Timeline content. What DVD menu template did you use (how many main menu pages and how many scene menu pages)? And, I am correct in assuming that this was an independant project...different source media and edits than # 3?

Here I believe is the true issue that brought you here.
When you say "Open existing project", it this the project from Test #1 which you closed and saved? Or, is it another existing project?
If you are not doing so now, please do Test #2 using the saved project prel from Test #1.
Now, I would like you to open Premiere Elements 4, in the Welcome Screen select the "Open Project" Folder, in the dialog that opens click on the Test #1.prel. The project should load, and you should find yourself in the program's Edit workspace. OK, so far? If so, what do you do next?
