File on FTP

Hello,
I created a pdf report and putfile in FTP folder.
In my application, i need to add a link. Link should point to file on FTP.
How to do?
When give FTP server information in link,
while browsing it add CF server path and never get to the file.
What is best way to fix this?

Well you can link to a ftp file if you want to.
<a href="ftp://my.ftp.server/aDirectory/theFile">FTP This File</a>
But the question is still what the orginal poster is really trying to do. Put the file someplace where a user can FTP to it, FTP it with CFML code, something else or some combonation of all the above.

Dooes it work using wildcards in sender file adapter (FTP type(!) (filesystem obviously work))? I tried it and it failed. it works only for exact name..
I read some articles about FTP and the result is, that ftp work always only with 1 file, so I'm wondering, if this is possible.

I know of course, that * can be used, I use it in many scenarios too. But on a FileSystem. It is not working if the sender type is FTP.
*, ., *.dat, ... nothing like that works.. Just exact file name.
I am able to pick up file, if I specify it's exact name, so there should be no problem with permissions..
Please, I'd appreciate one reply with comfirmation: yes, we are using asterisk (*) , we access source files via FTP and they are processed.
Is there anybody with this experience, that it works?

No Data in PDF file in FTP server

Hi All,
I am trying to place a PDF file in FTP server.
Used
CONVERT_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF to convert spool to PDF
SCMS_TEXT_TO_XSTRING
FTP_R3_TO_SERVER to transfer data to FTP.
I am able to see PDF file in FTP and no of pages matches with that of R/3 but there is no data in PDF file.

To get pdf file , you need to set the itcpo-tdgetotf = 'X' and need to pass in the exporting parameter (options in open_form function module ).Then in close_form function module take all the data of otfdata table into an internal table . Then use SX_OBJECT_CONVERT_OTF_PDF function module to convert it to pdf.
I will show with an example.

DATA: w_pdf TYPE solisti1. "For PDF

Error while downloading PDF file from FTP Server

I have sent a PDF file with data to FTP , Then i want to check that uploaded pdf file , whether that is correct or not?

Hi, if you really retrieve an excel file, you can not see the data in ABAP. You may see them in Excel. For this you may use
CALL METHOD document->open_document_from_table
of the interface i_oi_document_proxy for OLE objects. You can access the data with reference to the interface i_oi_spreadsheet.

But, who knows, perhaps you want "And Now For Something Completely Different".

Problem with downloading file from FTP server

I have uploaded a file from an application i developed and i want to download this file from another application. The code is

- the file does not existThe file exists.I checked it with an FTP client program.
- the file has a different nameThe file name is correct
- you are connected to the wrong serverI am connecting to the correct server
- you are in the wrong ftp directoryThe file is placed in the home directory
- the ftp library you are using is broken (less
likely)I am using the library from jscape.I dont think is broken because i can upload the file from the first application.

Yes I have done that. But In FTP Server I cannt read file, because no previliges. Only I need to copy file from FTP Server to local server then only I can read that file.
I tried all options using FileConrol(getFiles(),read()).
getFiles() - It wont copy the file, it give information about file.
read() - I dont have previliges to read the file.
Please tell me any other procedure would be there for getting file from FTPServer.

Hi,
Check the file permissions and for testing give all read/write/execute permissions to the file to be read from FTP. Also check the file modification date of the file.
Check for the logs at 2 places for any error messages:
- SOA server diagnostics logs
- FTP server logs
You can also enable the FINEST level of Adapter logs for adapters and see for the detailed errors in the diagnostic logs.
FMW Console > right click soa-infra > Logs > Log Configuration > expand oracle.soa > set Trace32 : FINEST for oracle.soa.adapter
