File Open Problem. Open in Browser But need in Access

Dear friends,
I developed an application in MS-Access and having as "FutureStat.bak" I want this file to be distrubuted over network. So, i placed the file in Stat folder under root folder with an index file which gives a hyperlink to this file.
If i use tomcat 4.1 it prompts for Open With / Save
But my company is having Tomcat 5.5 , which opens the file in browser. with some unicode format. I need tomcat to prompt for Open With or Save is there any code for opening ???

It's more likely a configuration problem in the server itself, it must be configured to open that format for some reason.
You could create a download server which reads the file from disk and outputs it to the browser using the content-type "application/octet-stream". That will force a download box. Search this forum, it is asked almost every day.

Make sure Readr is closed. Go to the Applications form, look for the Adobe Reader icon, double click on it, and follow the lead. Restart Reader when finished.

Click on URL in email, open new tab in browser, BUT stay in same Thunderbird email

There used to be a way to click on a link (URL) in an email that would open a new tab/window in the browser (Firefox), BUT stay in Thunderbird - similar to what Ctrl-Left-click does in Google search results in Firefox.
My work flow is usually to open several links, staying in Thunderbird and then when I'm done - go to Firefox to look at them all. E.g. I get a stackexchange weekly summary email, click on all the topics that look interesting and then, when I'm done selecting them, go look at them in Firefox.
I don't want to be forced to jump back and forth for every link, one at a time. This used to work.
Is there a preference or add-on that will do this - or anything else?

I'm not aware of any complete reference to all preferences that offer a full explanation of what each does, what the Value means and how to use in a problem-oriented fashion.

Margins are set up here:
File > Page Setup > Margins & header/Footer
or via File > Print Preview > Page Setup button
Helpful hints:
if you have Margins (millimeters)
and set eg: Bottom margin as 20.0
then look in config editor, you will see:
print.printer_XX.print_margin_bottom; Value = 0.787500023841858
This seemed odd at first. All Values in config were being converted to inches represented in a decimal format.
If you ever need to change the margins from millimeter to inches:
Print.printer_xx.print_paper_size_unit Value: = 1
Change the Value to 0 (zero) to get inches
If you change the Value to 0 for inches and then reopen:
File > Page Setup > Margins & header/Footer
you will see the Bottom margin has auto changed from 20.0 (mm) to 0.8 (inches rounded up), so although the display is different in File > Page Setup > Margins & header/Footer tab, the actual information in config preferences remains unchanged as it is saved in decimal inches format used by US as default.
if using millimeters then the paper size would be A4 210 x 297 mm.
Although looking in the config preferences it will say paper width 8.50 and paper height 11.00.
Usually, you can change the paper size when you select to Print and look in Print Properties. I'm in UK and using millimeters so get A4; the US uses Letter 8½ x 11 inches.
So I can see how it could be confusing to anyone using millimeters and then sees, what appears like wrong data in preferences.

Responsive Mobile Menus: Open and close on browser, but not in mobile?

I have two responsive jquery menus I am working with. In the desktop browser they both look and operate fine (full screen and mobile size), but when that same responsive page with menu is viewed on an actual phone (Android and iphone), the menus both: SHOW FULLY OPENED WITH ALL PARENT AND CHILDREN?
I believe I installed everyting properly (especially since it resizes and works perfect in a normal desk browser) -Dropsdown and Contracts back.
Does anyone have any experience with this issue (Responsive menus works fine in a desktop browser, but shows completely opened, and will not drop or contract when viewed on an actual mobile phone, like Android or iphone?), and if so any guidance?

Wow, you save me alot of time and headaches. You really know alot and are very helpful and taught me alot. Thank you for helping me, this is my first site I am still trying to build/get up, after years of on-off trying / learning/ abandoning (for other pursuits). Also re: Vanilla Testing: I always test all my stuff on a blank HTML page with only the Boilerplate and JS that Dreamweaver provides. I don't know if I have the capability to fully do in something like notepad? Will this method (Boiler, JS, and blank HTML) suffice--No other Scripts--Not even my stylesheet?

When I tried to open firefox nothing happens. I was able to open another type of browser but not firefox.

Firefox suddenly closed on me while trying to browse a page. When I tried to reopen it nothing happend. I even tried launching from the task manager Nothing. I have loged off and restarted my computer and uninstalled and reinstalled firefox. Still nothing. It's not my internet because I'm browsing fine on explorer. Firefox is my favorite browser and i would hate to not have it but if it does not work I will have to change browsers.

Encrypting file folders on OS X Server but needs to be cross plateform

We have OS X server 10.4 and 10.5. We have been asked by our client to implement some demanding security policies. One is to have our files encrypted on our file server for more sensitive files. This is in case there is a breach in the network and access is gained to the server the data is still secure. Well we work in a mix platform environment but there are very few options on the Mac for encyrpting folders that aslo work on the PC. PGP desktop looks to be the only option but from some of the reviews looks kinda buggy and there network version is only for the PC.
Anyone else run into this problem and what was your solution?

This is certainly an interesting problem and an interesting requirement. On the face of it, a quite difficult problem.
As for your requested approach here, I don't know of an available and cross-platform distributed authentication and distributed encryption and distributed auditing scheme.
I'd expect most folks presented with this problem and with this requirement would carefully control access onto the LAN and into the data, and would encrypt the traffic. And would bury the data inside a secured server or secured server farm.
There's a particular and fundamental consideration here. If the client or the server security is breached, then folder or file encryption is itself vulnerable each and every time the folder or file contents are decrypted for use. (It's the system that allows you to decrypt and access the folder and file data. If you don't trust the client or the server, then you'll have to consider whether or not you trust providing your key(s) for decryption. And what happens when a user's key is exposed.)
With cross-platform or client-server remote file access operations as proposed in your approach, you've just extended the security perimeter around all the boxes involved, and it's wicked hard to revoke the data access keys in these sorts of environments.
Most folks will "bunker" the critical data, rather than spreading the perimeter around, and will manage and maintain and audit the (encrypted) channels into the data. More copies of the data -- whether currently encrypted or otherwise -- means more headaches. Keeping the data close and being able to remotely revoke the access keys is invaluable.
As for remote access, you might find an encrypting or kerberized NFS (krb5p being the gonzo setting) useful. This encrypts the traffic. And you can zonk the access keys via the KDC.
ZFS (and encryption is itself just starting to be being baked into ZFS) is just starting to come on-line, and likely isn't fully and sufficiently widely available for your needs yet. ZFS might eventually provide what you want here. But again, auditing client access is hairy. It only takes one bone-headed clear-text data export from one client, or one compromised client or lost password, after all.
Or the classic pgp or zip can be used to toss the files around, and with varying degrees of cryptographic security. Of course everybody ends up with the keys to the kingdom pretty quickly, with the difficulties in auditing and revoking data access that are inherent in distributed access, and one compromised client or one lost laptop can potentially ruin the whole plan.
A custom solution build on NFS or such is very likely feasible, but it won't be cheap. You'd likely need to insert your own network-capable "disk" drivers into the Windows I/O stack, for instance. (This has been done before...)
Don't forget to consider password recovery, too. Both to permit it or to have a carefully controlled "back-door" into the data (which has its own risks), and to avoid the social engineering attacks that can arise here.
(I'd be interested to hear more about this and whatever solution you might eventually choose here, too. This looks to be a very knotty problem.)
And OK, so I'm over-thinking it all.

64bit distro and browser but need 32bit plugin?

Ok so i have an issue where i run 64bit Arch with 64bit chromium.
I've also enabled multilib and installed a Swedish Identity Security Software that requires a 32bit browser with Flash/Java support.. and I'm not quite sure how to go about this.
My first thought was to install pacman -U firefox... with a downloaded 32bit version and hope for some magic but that didn't work so well.
So any ideas on how to solve this?
I need either for Chromium to run as if it was a 32bit environment to fool the "plugin" (that being Java loading the 3 party software called BankID) or an actual 32bit browser (pref Firefox or something other than Chromium to not mix them up)

Hehe, i'm well aware that "security" and "flash/java" doesn't ring to well, but it's the only option in Sweden to authenticate as "me" when doing banking and social security tasks i'm afraid.
Doing taxes atm and just moved and both require "BankID" :/
a VM is a sure thing solution, as a last resort i'll go down that road and install either some dummy Win7 or Arch-32bit :)

MBP start up problems :( read many advices, but need more please help!

Hi, I have a year old MBP, I recently received a new battery from Apple through the battery exchange program. And I also bought a new RAM 2GB and added it on.
Recently, about 3 days ago, I noticed that I was having trouble starting up my mac os. A day later, it would not start up. However, using bootcamp, my Windows XP runs fine without any problems, although I have gotten one of those blue screens in the middle of studying.
These are the list of things I've done and tried:
1. PRAM reset - did not help
2. Removed ram individually and plugged it in different arrangements to see if it was a RAM problem - did not help
3. Repair permissions + disk - I tried this, it got stuck about 3/4 of the way, and it would not complete the process after 2 hours.
4. Archive and Install - I had an error during the process and could not continue.
5. fsck - I also had an error in the way, saying something about volume
6. Finally, the hardware test, I did not have any problems in my hardware.
Unfortunately, I am running out of ideas, if anyone can give me an advice on how to fix it, please help me!

You never did update your profile or at least answer the question about exactly what model of MBP you are attempting to use and what version of operating system it is running so you are forcing us to guess at answers.
From the sounds of what you have done so far to me it is sounding like your hard drive is on it's last legs. If data is getting badly corrupted that quickly, it is usually a sign that sectors are going bad at a very fast rate. If it were mine, I would scan it for bad sectors with Tech Tools Pro or a similar utility.

I found the answer for my PC. The login does not work with IE which I noticed was the browser used as the default. But, I opened iCloud.com in FF and everything went smoothly.

I ran my iphone over but need to access my contacts/info/pics. I have a up to date backup of my whole phone in iTunes but need to know how to extract the data and load it to my new desktop since it will be a bit before I can afford a new phone.

I accidentally ran my iPhone over and can't afford another one for a few weeks. Until then I need to find a way to extract the data from my last backup in itunes. I can either put it on my computer or I've set up a cloud account that I was hoping could open it. So far I haven't had any luck with either. if anyone can help me out. I would love to get my pictures/videos, messages and contacts off there. The rest I don't care so much about. If someone could let me know if this is possible I would apprciate it!

Thanks. I messed up with my husbands iphone because I was told the wrong thing. Now everytime I sync his phone it makes it look just like the other phone I had. Do you know how I can fix taht for his phone? Any settings I can turn off that will prevent all of my apps/contacts, etc from auto populating his phone?

Problem opening Raw Files In PS Elements 10

Hi I just installed PS Elements 10 on a new laptop, I can not open my Raw files, no problem with the jpegs but can not open Raw, I use this software on my old laptop and desk top with no problem, Windows 7 is on all 3 computers, What do I need to do to fix this and be able to open the Raw. Also note I notice that I have a blue check mark on my jpeg files and I have a Red X on my Raw files which I never had on my other two computers.
