File Path Name
Microsoft Word 2010: How do I view the the entire file path name. We run on a network and need to see the entire document name in the Quick Access Toolbar.

If you want to see the entire file path of a Microsoft Word 2010 file which stored on a network. We at least have places where you can check this info:
1.Click File on the ribbon to go to Info page, check the
file path under file name in the upper left corner.
2.Add the file path to the Headers and footers:
1) Open the headers and footers for editing.
2) Under the Header and Footer Tool tab, Click Quick Parts.
3) Select Field in the drop-down list.
4) Select FileName in the list of Field names.
5) Check the checkbox of Add path to filename.
6) Click OK. The entire file path name will show in the header of the document.
We might not be able to add this to the Quick Access Toolbar easily as it's not a built-in command of Word 2010.

Packager fails with "Maximum file path name exceeded" on InCopy
Attempting to build the full suite with CCP 1.5.0 Build 83, running on Window 8.1 update 64-bit.
When building a 32-bit package it reaches InCopy it always stops and provides the so helpful "Maximum file path name exceeded error". This appears to only happen when building the 32-bit package, building the 64-bit package caused no issues, and even in building the 32-bit package after the 64-bit package when everything is already downloaded the same error occurs.
Tried it with:
Cache path: C:\Users\iholmes\AppData\Local\Adobe\CCP\
Destination path: F:\ISO\Adobe\Cloud\Working\CreativeCloud-06192014x86
Also tried:
Cache path: g:\Adobe\CCP
Destination path: f:\cc\x86

I can manually extract the zip file from: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Adobe\CCP\AdobeCCPCache\AICY\LS20\InCopy_10_LS20_Win32.7z to the above path (which I think is what it's trying to do) with no error, so it seems to be something Adobe is going to have to fix.

I want to put the File path name of our documents to the head of files as a reference. I know this can be done with Macros on Word/Excel, but is there a way to achieve this with applescript in pages/numbers?
Insert Filename was one of the features that made it's appearance in iWork '09. The feature has an option to include the entire path. I imagine that with a script it might be possible to insert the filename path in a Pages '08 document.

I added a step in Process model, and wanted to get currently loaded client sequence file name/path. I used the variable of "SequenceFile.Path" but then I realized what I would get is the process model file path, not loaded client sequence file path/name. How can I get loaded client sequence file path/name?

JackyI dont understand what you are trying to achieve. Can you provide more information.
If you are trying to dynamically load and run a client sequence file at run time you need to make a couple of calls to the TS API from inside the process model, Engine.GetSequenceFileEx to get a reference to your sequence identified by its pathname, and then Execution.ClientFile to tell the process model which sequence you want to run.

Invalid File Path Names in Mac OS X

I am trying to create a Javascript in Mac OS X 10.4.11, however I am having some trouble with what characters are valid in file path names in Mac OS X. Does anybody know where I can get a list of invalid characters that cannot be used in a file name?

Maximum file path name exceeded
While using Creative Cloud Packager to create a package I receive the error 'maximum file path name exceeded' during the download. The package save location I orginally chose was \\server\share\adobe\Creative Suite. After the first failure, I mapped a 'Z drive' to that location and am still getting the error. How do make a path shorter than 'Z:\'?
I'm using Windows XP SP3 to create a 64 bit Windows package. I just downloaded and installed the Creative Cloud Packager today.
Thanks to anyone who can help.I did some further troubleshooting and couldn't get it working on the XP PC. I installed the Creative Cloud Packager on a Win 8 PC and it looks like it's working as it should.

File Name of Image Displayed in PSE 8 does not match File Path Name in Windows 7
I recently got a new computer .I upgraded on my Windows XP computer from PSE 5.0 to PSE 8.0. I then moved my files to the new computer running Windows 7 following the instructions I received on an earlier post. I copied the catalog folder and the picture folders on the C drive from the old to the new computer (catalog folder to location specified in System Info; images to My Pictures). Everything appears to have worked beautifully without having to go through a big Reconnect struggle. The organzer appears to have found all of the images and I can bring them up in Editor as well. However, when I look at the properties of a given image the full file name displayed is what it was on XP, i.e., C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\My Pictures\<folder name>\<file name> rather than the path as it is in Windows 7, i.e., C:\Users\<user name>\My Pictures\<folder name>\<file name>. I am new to Windows 7 so maybe I am missing something unique to Windows 7 but I would appreciate any information.
You're observing the special folder aliases that Vista and Windows 7 create to preserve backward compatibility (Microsoft keeps changing how and where users' documents are stored). On Windows 7:
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\My Pictures
is a special kind of alias to the folder:
C:\Users\<user name>\Pictures
(And C:\Users<user name>\My Pictures is yet another kind of Windows 7 special alias, a "library", that includes the folder C:\Users<user name>\Pictures.)
Whenever an application like PSE refers to the old location, C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\My Pictures, Windows automatically translates that under the covers to C:\Users\<user name>\Pictures. But Windows Explorer is configured to prevent you from accessing C:\Documents and Settings\ interactively -- only programs like PSE are able to do that. Microsoft wants users of Windows Explorer to always use the "new" name, C:\Users\<user name>\Pictures.
In your case, your catalog contained the old XP folder paths, and Windows is automatically translating them on the fly to the new paths, unbeknownst to PSE.
Like most such backward-compatibility hacks, this does not work perfectly. PSE thinks that the old path and the new path refer to two completely different folders. I'm not positive, but I think there are opportunities for PSE to get confused by that. When you import new photos, they will get recorded in the catalog under the new folder paths.
In my previous recommendation for how to move to the new computer, I had assumed that you would most likely be changing user names and photo locations, and thus you would be forced to do a Reconnect, and you wouldn't have encountered this. If I had thought you weren't going to need a Reconnect, I would have recommended not using this method but rather using Backup/Restore (my first recommended method) -- my bad.
It may well be that your current catalog and PSE will work well enough. But there is at least a small risk that down the road PSE will get confused by the old and new folder names. The easiest way to avoid that risk would be to start over and use the Backup/Restore method for moving your catalog, whch is more effort on your part. But because I don't fully understand the risk, I can't tell you whether you should be worried about it. Definitely do some testing: editing, importing and editing new photos, use Display > Folder Location view, try renaming and moving old photos to new folders, try the Photo Downloader, etc. -

Storing File Path Names - Indexing problems
I would like to store the files in the file system and the path in the database. (for example: '/mypath/test.doc')
The statament for creating the index is the following:
CREATE INDEX Test.IDX_Dokument ON Test.Dokument(path)

This works with WINDOWS XP without any problems.
But with Linux I always get an empty index and the following message:

In my case I have been able to create the same type of file_datastore index, but so far on files residing on the same server where the database is. I haven't been able to index files in this way when they reside on another server on a linked system. This is in spite of having active mapping to the targeted directories on the other server. I can however read those files and can load them into a BLOB column in my table and create an index using direct_datastore.
This indicated that oracle recognizes the path and I have the required operating system permissions to read files from those directories, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to copy them into the database.
Can you please get your head around this because all documentations about file_datastore, both from Oracle and others, only say that you can index data using the path when files are on the operating system? They never say if the system covers a network broadly.

Create a form with standard layout and it should work. Once the webservice is created and maintained in SOAADMIN, make sure the user has the relevant authorizations w.r.t to webservices, so that the form can call the webservice.

File path problem in background job spool

i have probelm in file path of the background job in spool.
i have selection screen
Radiobutton : p_local
parameter: path1.
Radibutton: p_applicatioserver
parameter: path2.
if i keep program in background job, it will alwas take second option.
Now user selected first option and executed job in abckground. File stored in the spplication server with corect file path name. (path2)
But when i go to sm37 entered job name and checked the spool, it gives me the file path name path1. but i need the file path1 in the background spool. my question whether i need to change the file path name in program or whether i have to change the setting

zubFirst of all, local is not an option in background job; you can only save to the apps server, and your program should take that into consideration by checking for sy-batch = 'X', for example. You should be checking in your at selection-screen to be sure the user has not chosen local path and file and background job.

Songs lost to altered path name
So I am one of many who have lost thousands of songs in itunes for reasons I don't understand. When I query the song with "get info" I get a "can't locate the song" dialogue box which I close and the info dalogue box then appears. It seems that a few thousand songs have the file path names altered to read file://local host/ then the correct drive letter and folders etc. Some have only "local host/drive letter/etc". itunes can't find them because the path name is altered, but how did that happen and how can I undo it? This is the second time I have lost more than 5000 songs to some mysterious action in this program. I really don't want to burn hours and hours re- ripping those CDs

Usually the path name reported by get info looks like this: file://localhost/C:/users/Don Broderson/music/iTunes/iTunes media/Gillian Welch/Soul Journey/10 Wrecking Ball.m4a. In this case the tune is missing altogether, though it used to be on an external hard drive F: as in the following case:
Path as listed in get info: file://localhost/C:/users/Don Broderson/music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Bob Dylan/Another side of Bob Dylan/03 Spanish Harlem Incident.m4a
Actual path: In this case the tune resides on the external drive at F:\music\Bob Dylan\Bob Dylan\Another Side of Bob Dylan\03 Spanish Harlem Incident.m4a
When this problemm began, I saw path names rom get info that began localhost/F:\ and continued as in the dylan case above. I could not find an example of that path in a quick search today.
I have iTunes set up to import CDs automatically to the F: drive as the hard disk in my laptop does not have the capacity for my library. This has worked well for a couple of years and now it doesn't. To my knowledge I never asked iTunes to organize my library. I don't recall upgrading iTunes around the time the trouble started. Any ideas?
