File Properties Length does not match rendered video clip

I have Premiere Elements 8. I decided I did not want to use audio in some of my video files, so I unchecked audio in the Advanced tab given under the section in SHARE which indicates Presets, File Name, and Save in. I rendered a 720p file with audio unchecked, which played fine in Windows Media Player. Then I decided to put it in another software program I have and noticed that the file did not play until the end. I discovered that the Windows file length listed in the Details of the file (which also appears on the information given about a file that is displayed on the screen when Details is selected in the Windows Explorer listing for the file). The length listed is shorter than the actual length of the video clip as given in Premiere Elements timeline and sceneline views. Because of the incorrect listing in the details of the rendered file, my other software only incorporates the video clip up until the length listed in Windows Explorer for the video file. This does not happen when I leave audio checked in the Advanced tab. But remember, I don't want to use the audio. Yes, I can trick the software with the length if I add "extra video" to my project, but I really do not want to do that. Can anyone help?

Thanks, very much, for the information. It worked! I just had to delete audio as you suggested. I should add that I had to do this for each segmented video clip on the timeline.

The default settings mostly likely use an audio sample rate of 32k. This doesn't work probably in FCP. You're probably better off capturing the tape in iMovie.

  • The file may be corrupt. The file header checksum does not match the computed checksum.

I just put Vista Home Premium on a computer I was going to give to my son. Upon adding some hardware I kept getting the above screen. "The file may be corrupt. The file header checksum does not match the computed checksum.' When I booted in safe mode and slow boot, it hung on crcdisk.sys. I removed everything except the keyboard hhd dvd and fdd and it still does the same thing. I tried to reinstall Vista but it keeps hanging. From reading a lot of other threads this seems to be a big problem. I doubt if the product should have been marketed. But.... If anyone can help me get it booted I would like to try XP instead. I tried to install XP on the same drive and it hungs there too.

  • In AE CS6, the sound does not match with video

    Hi,
I would like to ask a question. I have AE CS6, and I recorded a gameplay video with Avermedia Live Gamer HD. The format of this video is .mp4. When I import the .mp4 into the program, the sound does not match. On the original video, when i play with VLC or WMP, all things are good, and when i import, the sound does not good. What causes this problem, and can I do something to solve this?
    Thanks the answers, R3dLinE

Check your footage interpretation, split the audio in an external program, convert the sample rate and import it separately or whatever. Most likely you simply have used unsuitable recording settings with odd sample and data rates.

  • Output clip, first frame does not match rest of clip

If I take After Effects and create 30 seconds of red, that is r-255 g=0 b=0, then output this to tape in FCP the first frame does not look like the rest of the clip. I render out in AE using BlackMAGIC 8bit 1920x1080 size movie. Imports into FCP without complaint. Layoff to HDCAM-SR.
If I take a solid green clip and do the same thing it also changes on the first frame layoff.
If I take gray it does not change.
If I change the FCP sequence to use RGB processing (to match AE) this does not change anything.
This happens on more than one machine as well, and is restricted only to FCP.. The BlackMAGIC Deck Control software that they bundle with the cards does NOT exhibit this issue!
    FCP v6.0.4

17 macs crankin out spots everyday.
I would like to know if other people out there see the same prob.
It looks like if something was digitized with FCP, it will output fine.
If files come from another app, the above prob results.

  • QuickTime does not automatically open video clips when double clicked

Quicktime does not open video clips in iPhoto when the video clips are double clicked (nothing happens). Quicktime will open the video clip if I open quicktime
and ask it to open the video clip. Regular photos will expand as they should when they are double clicked.

It worked. I don't see why the Protected Mode is enabled in the first place, if it were to cause issues.
    Anyways, thanks Sabian,

  • Narration does not stay with video clips when editing

I have been working on a large video project in PE7. I just finished adding approximately 100 narrations at various points in various clips. I then inserted a video clip that was missing and all the narrations seems to have shifted and are no longer in sync with the video clips. Any suggestions before and go to the timeline and move each clip?

If you inserted a clip, the timeline is designed to "ripple" or move over to allow for the clip.
If you don't want the timeline to ripple as you add new clips, hold down the Ctrl key as you add your clips.

  • Exported audio does not match rendered timeline audio

My mixed and rendered audio sounds fine when played in the timeline, but when I export it to a Quicktime movie, it reaches a point part way through where the music suddenly becomes too loud.
In one case, it started right at the point that a still image had keyframe on the scale track (in the motion tab), and ended on the next cut. After about 45 min. of fiddling with it, I tried sliding the audio, rerendering, and sliding it back to force it to rerender the section in question. I had also been fiddling with the keyframe in the motion tab, so I don't know which of those fixed it.
In another case, neither of those techniques worked. There were other tracks that were cobbled together from several pieces, some not in sync. I moved those to a new sequence, exported the audio as QT, brought it back in to FCP, and then replaced the original clips with this exported one, and then the propblem with the music went away.
Again, they played fine in the timeline, but when whacky in the exported QT file.
Was it something I did, or a bug?
    Thanks.

certainly sounds like you hit a glich, but probably not strictly a 'bug' ... a bug is only really qualified as such if it can be demonstrated at will, given specific hardware or software conditions.
regardless of platform, as editors we all face unexpected gliches from time to time, we all just have to deal with it, as you did yourself.
if you do get this trouble again, then you might want to get into the habit of doing an audio mixdown before export Sequence > Render Only > Mixdown ... or at least try it and see if that helps
and for getting rid of unwanted renders you might try using Tools > Render Manager
    hope it helps

  • "The file is possibly corrupt. The file header checksum does not match the computed checksum."

Yesterday evening, I accidentally dropped my Probook 6565b. It bluescreened with strange red boxes around the text, so I thought the screen or something was damaged. I emergency shut down the computer, and started it up again. It was visibly slower, but I was able to use it, so, relieved, I turned it off again and went to bed.
This morning, I tried to turn it on again. It started out normally (and I am able to access the start up screen) . But afterwards, it gives me a blank dark blue screen (like before you see the Windows logo) and it stays there for around 15 seconds before it gives me the error.
I have no idea what to do, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I think my operating system is Windows 7, but I'm not sure.
    Thank you.

  • Sequence file in Browser does not match Sequence in Timeline

I have constructed a sequence in the Timeline with the name of The Cafe. A Sequence appears in the Browser with the same name, but it contains a 20 second clip and none of the other material that is displayed in the sequence in the Timeline with the identical name. I need to know how to convert the sequence in the Timeline to a Sequence in the Browser for a final asembly and edit. Any help would be greately appreciated. Many thanks.

If you didn't do it yet, you should change the browser view to View as List (View/Browser Items/As List). This will list all possible parameters associated with all your items in the browser and namely with your sequence The Cafe.
Now you can read its Duration, In and Out positions (these 2 will be likely "not set") and many other infos.
What is its Duration ? it should be exactly 1:35:04 as you read in the timeline.
In which field of the browser you read 21 associated with The Cafe sequence ?
The Type field contains "Sequence" as it is supposed to be ? (if not yet visible: 1st enlarge the browser window, 2nd right click on any field label and select the Type field from the contextual menu - a new colomn will appear with Types)
With these infos it'll be easier to find what to do.

  • Premiere Elements 4 does not add entire video clip

    Hi,
I have Premiere Elements 4 and have been using it for years. I just captured a 15 minute movie and it will only play the first 66 seconds of the video. It shows the entire 15 minutes in the timeline, shows the file being 0.99GB, but simply goes black after 66 seconds. How do I rectify this? I have changed the "Still Image Duration" to 100000 frames just to try that and it did not work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    AlbinoSmurf
Thanks for the reply with additional details.
Your Premiere Elements 4 is a 32 bit application running in the 32 bit compatibility mode of the 64 bit system, with all the computer resource limitations of 32 bit system, example
maximum installed RAM = 4 GB of which 3.2 to 3.0 GB or less of that are available. So, that is why I ask about computer operating system resources. But, you say that this is a "it worked before but not now" issue.
You have a MPEG2 file, about 1 GB and 15 minutes duration, and you are getting only 66 seconds and black video after that from it on the Premiere Elements 4 Timeline.
Please look at the computer resources and possible computer optimization.
Also, video card/graphics card driver version updating
    Antivirus inteference
Can you import and work with a MPEG2 file successfully when the file size is far less than 1 GB?
Please review the above and then let us determine if any of it targets your situation.
    Thank you.
