    Make sure that '''''Print to File''''' isn't selected in the native print dialog box ''(see screenshot below)'' middle-right, and make sure your Printer is selected at the top of that dialog box.

  • Dynamic file name in receiver - empty line problem with content conversion

    Hi,
    I do a variable substitution from a filename node in my xml structure. Because I don't want to have the the filename in my flatfile i supress the output with the conversion parameters:
    filename.fixedLengthTooShortHandling = Cut
    filename.fieldFixedLengths = 0
    It's working but: the adapter is puting an empty line at the end of the file. If I even put the filename node at the top of the xml struture it generates the empty line at the top of the flatfile.
    Anyone has an idea? is there an other way to set the filename or how can I supress this empty line( I have to) ?
    Regrads
    J.

    Jorg,
    Actually speaking we cannot get rid of this with XI. You have to write a OS script to remove this.
    Else
    you add one more parameter as .endSeparator as backspace ie., 0x08. It will definitely remove the line but I think it is putting a square box at the end of previous line. Please check by giving this and let us know the updates.

  • File Reciver adapter - Variable Substitution

    Hi all,
    i am creating a file with dynamic file name.
    My structure looks like this:
    Row - 0-unbound (all the data)
    FileName - 1
    I don't want the file name to appear in the file I just want it for the Variable Substitution.
    so in the content conversion i use only the row.fieldFixedLengths
    but in the file i get an extra empty line because of the file name.
    Thanks,
    Naama.

    Hi,
    Its better to go for Adapter specific attributes with dynamic configuration. That will avoid you from usage of Filename field in target structure.
    Refer - Dynamic Configuration for file name
    Dynamic  File Name for Receiver File Adapter

  • File Receiver Adapter - writes empty message although ignore flag is set

    Hi,
    i have an file FTP receiver channel configured with content conversion. I also have set the "Empty-Message-Handling" flag to "Ignore", so empty messages with 0 kb are not written to the FTP server.
    My problem is now: empty file are written to FTP server although this flag is set to "Ignore".
    For example: A message with the following content arrives at my receiver adapter:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <ns0:MT_ArticleMaster xmlns:ns0="http://ihle.com/tyredating/core"></ns0:MT_ArticleMaster>
    The resulting file has 0kb.
    Does anyone have an idea why empty message are not getting ignored by this setting? Although the flag is set?
    Thanks in advance,

    ideally the file adapter will expect a message with no content in it. so i suggest you use a simple java mapping to check if there is any content between the tags, if there is no content then write out an empty string to the outputstream else pass the same inputstream out

  • File Sender Adapter Skip first line in file

    Hello to all,
    I'm trying to read a file (nfs) using the file adapter.
    The szenario works fine, but I need to skip the first line in the txt file (header line)
    I tried parameter documentSkipFirstRows, without success.
    Any ideas?
    Regards Christian

    Hi Kaiser,
    May be the syntax problem.
    use like this...
    xml.documentSkipFirstRows     1
    Syntax is
    xml.documentSkipFirstRows=<noOfRows>

  • File to File with Validation For Empty Line

    Hi Experts,
    My Scenario:
    FIle -> PI -> ABAP Proxy
    For the File sender i am using File Content Conversion for .TXT. It is working fine but sometimes the user create the .TXT fiile with empty space/tab after the last record. The users wrongly press enter at the last record at the .TXT. Please look below:
    1 test1 kl
    2 test2 sg
    3 test3 mk
    |
    Please look above the user wrongly press ENTER '|' and it created empty tab below the last record.
    How can i validate the sender data if there is empty space and i should not transfer to receiver.
    I am trying to use UDF but could anyone guide me?
    Thank you
    saravannan

    Hello,
         In receiver determination you can write that if your all fields(mandetory) are not empty then  to for your perticular receiver and for If no receiver found option select end message without Error so if you some fields are coming blank or last line coming blank then it will not send message to your receiver and and without any error.

    Hi,
    I think we could handle this with may be usage of Advanced UDF in Graphical mapping only.
    Here as per the condition you are deleting the particular record but unknowingly blank value i.e. " " is getting passed so on target side blank node is created for this record.
    You need to just avoid this blank Node.
    If you can share the logic you have applied for Middle field as well the source and target structure I will be able to try the UDF code..based on it
    Thanks

  • Empty line at the end of  SAP Java instance profile

    I saw this today in help.sap.com, which says that an Java instance profile must have an empty line at the end of the file, would anyone know what is it for ?
    The instance profile (/usr/sap/<SID>/SYS/profile/<SID>_<instance name>_<hostname>) u2013 this file contains settings that apply to the instance as a whole. For a Java-only installation, the file can be edited with any text editor (beware that the file must have an empty line at the end.);

    thank you
    Jonu Joy

    I have heard many "explanations" for this, but never really any solid answers.
    From experience, however, I can tell you that the SAP profiles (both ABAP and Java) will miss the last parameter if it is located on the bottom line of the file.  I have always put in two or three blank spaces at the bottom of the profiles in order to avoid this.

  • File Receiver Adapter Empty Lines

    High Experts
    I have a scenario Proxy->PI->Flate file. My problem is, there is an empty line at the beginning and at the end of the generated file. I am doing Content Conversion with the following parameters:
    LineItem.fieldSeparator     '~'
    LineItem.fieldFixedLengths     10,10,10,19,2,10,1,3,2,3,4,2,2,2,2,3,2,1,2,2,2,10,10,10,8
    LineItem.fixedLengthTooShortHandling     Cut
    What am I doing wrong?

    try with LineItem.endSeparator = 'nl'
    can even check this WIKI:

  • File Sender adapter not reading the first line

    Hi,
    I have a scenario configured from file to jdbc adapter.
    However, I found a problem in my file sender adapter. My file adpater always not picking up the first line from my text even I have set the 'Document Offset' to 0.

    Hi Latika Sethi,
    My complete input text file is as below, it contains only 2 testing records:-
    H1|DIZ1                          |A0016507    |10000020|09/2007
    H2|ABC0001
    D|P|0001|Gaji Pokok       |   1,000.09
    D|D|0002|Denda              |   1,000.00
    D|P|0003|Elaun               |   1,000.00
    H1|PUA1                        |A0016508    |10000021|09/2007
    H2|ABC0002
    D|P|0001|Gaji Pokok       |   2,744.09
    D|D|0002|Denda              |   2,000.00
    D|P|0003|Elaun               |   2,000.00
    After the message mapping, I found the pipeline existed in sxmb_moni as below:-
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <ns:mt_rmp03B_filejdbc_sender xmlns:ns="urn:rmp03:pdrm:ips:jdbcjdbc">

    .... <Deskripsi>Gaji Pokok</Deskripsi>
    .... <Jumlah>2,744.09</Jumlah>
    .. </Details>
    </Payslip>
    There are 2 payslips as for the top payslip node...Header1 tag is missing. It means that during the file sender step....the first line of my record which is :-
    "H1|DIZ1                          |A0016507    |10000020|09/2007"
    is not read into the xi pipeline. Basically this is the problem i faced.
    Has somebody facing the same problem before? Currently I have no choice but moved the First line of the text into Second line and left the first line of the text become null/ empty line. As such both records can be successfully read by the XI.
    However what I wondered is sometimes clients will do insert the records into the first line and this might made some data loss.
    Thanks...

  • How to get rid of empty lines in a file?

    How can read a file "text.txt", delete all the empty lines and restore it to same filename "text.txt" without using a temporary file?

    Ages ago I ruined an 8" floppy disk drive by doing something similar to
    this: let b1 b2 ... bn nl be a series of blanks followed by a newline
    character (nl) and let c1 ... cm be a sequence of other characters. Let
    the total relevant sequence be:
    b1 b2 ... bn nl c1 ... cm
    Reverse the entire sequence: cm ... c1 nl bn ... b2 b1 and then
    reverse the first m bytes: c1 cm nl bn ... b2 b1. Now repeat the entire
    thing for the sequence c1 ... cm by checking for more blank lines in it.
    After this has all finished, simply truncate the file.
    The advantage of this method was that I only needed to be able to swap
    two bytes in a file; the disadvantage was that the floppy disk drive
    couldn't handle it ;-)
    kind regards,

    either this way we can do this
    1)
    DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    <b> factory.setIgnoringElementContentWhitespace(true); </b>
    DocumentBuilder db = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
    or
    2)
    java.io.StringWriter sw = new java.io.StringWriter();
    StreamResult sr = new StreamResult(sw);
    t.transform(new DOMSource(doc), sr);
    String xml1 = sw.toString().trim();
    <b> xml1=xml1.replaceAll("\\s",""); </b>
    System.out.println(xml1.trim());
