File resources in clustered environment

          I understand that resource on file system cannot be clustered.
          We have an application packaged as an ear file but unfortunately we get the properties
          files from the file system. We usually copy these resources while installing our
          application.
          Now we are trying to deploy our application in a clustered environment and when
          all my servers in the clcuster r on the same machine everything worked fine. Now
          I created another server on a different machine.
          The ear file file got transfered fine but the application is not able to find
          the properties since the resource file are not copied over to that machine. I
          know this is an expected behaviour but my question is: Is there anyway workaround
          to avoid thsi problem. For example, can we tell weblogic to take care of copying
          these resources along with the whole application
          (ear file).

I don't think that there is any standard way of doing this.
          Even if you do convince WebLogic to do so, it will be a
          WebLogic-specific hack...
          Don't suppose you can use a shared directory?
          Or perhaps you can just use external-staging, and copy the EAR +
          resources yourself.

  • Regarding issue sender file adapter in clustered  environment(PI 7.0)

    Hi Experts,
    we  are using  sender  file adapter in clustered environment(there are 6 J2EE cluster nodes in XI system) for an interface.the  file sender communication channel  for this interface  is scheduled to run twice  every day. recently   the   channel stopped polling (picking the files from the source directory) and i dont see any error.
    when i open Communication Channel monitoring in RWB and select the file sender communication channel  and run it manually, none of the cluster nodes  are polling for the file.
    i have tried   editing the communication channel in Integration Directory   and  activating  it. but it does not pick the file.
    Can you let me know how  the issue can be resolved.
    Thanks

    Kausik,
    A computer cluster is a group of linked computers, working together closely so that in many respects they form a single computer. The components of a cluster are commonly, but not always, connected to each other through fast local area networks. Clusters are usually deployed to improve performance and/or availability over that provided by a single computer, while typically being much more cost-effective than single computers of comparable speed or availability.
    clearly your cluster nodes are out of sync...!!!!
    It is possible that your ftp server went down for a while . And in the profile of FTP machine the entry of XI server is not made permanent .
    1. Try to ping the FTP site from XI server.
    BTW are u getting any error msg at RWB ?

    Hi,
    We are using clustered environment (4 managed servers) in Unix. In a OSB 11gR3 proxy service we are using Synchronous File Read. Randomly we are getting the below error. Let us know what could cause the issue. But the same code is working fine in a single stand-alone server configuration.

    I face the same issue and I have given all permissions to the folder for OS user.
    Because of this error my server is not starting up . Is there any way I can undeploy this composite to get my server running.
    I cant do this from EM because SOA server is failing to start up.
    I have tried removing it from $DOMAIN_HOME/deployed-composites but still when i try restarting the soa server the composite comes up there. Do we need to delete the entry some where else too. Kindly help.
    Thanks,
    Sri.

  • Problem with uploading a file in Clustered Environment

    Hi,
    I have a problem with uploading a file in a clustered environment. I have an iview component which facilitates an upload action of an xml config file. The problem is that the upload of the modified XML file is reflected only in the central instance of the cluster and not in the dialog instances. The dialog instances hold the old config file.
    Is there any solution to upload the file to all the nodes in the cluster.
    Thanks
    Kiran

    Hi,
    This is a known problem with clustered environment. Remember that your portal component runs on just on dialog instance and it doesn't automatically have access to the other nodes.  However, there are some ways to get around this
    1. Use KM to store files. KM is a common repository for all application servers and therefore you needn't worry more
    2. Use an external batch oriented product (suresync/robocopy) to synch folders on the different DIs. You basically use your existing portal component, but there is a batch job which makes sure the upload folder is identical on all DIs (however, there is a slight delay depending on how often you run the batch job)
    3. Store the files on a shared disk directly from the portal component.
    Cheers

  • File Protocol in OSB Clustered Environment

    Hi ,
    I have a OSB Server in a Clustered Environment ....
    Here Admin Server is in Machine1
    Managed Server1 is in Machine 2
    Managed Server2 is in Machine 3
    so both the Managed Servers are put in a Cluster
    I have Access to Machine1 Unix Box where the Admin Server is Installed ...I can get the File only in this Location and have to Read the Same from here , So i was planning to Use File Protocol for Polling the Message from Admin Server .Since OSB has option for Selecting only the Managed Server , I would request suggestions how i can Read the Data from this Admin Server by using File Protocol .

    have you used "service type" as "Messaging Service" ? that should give you all the options you need

  • Resource Adapters in clustered environment

    Hi All,
              Can anybody throw some light on how resource adapters will behave in
              weblogic clustered environment ?
              thanks and regards
              vedant.

    This question falls outside of JMS-land. Perhaps you can try the EJB newsgroup?
              Just in case your trying to use an adapter to receive JMS messages: There's no need to use resource adapters for WebLogic MDBs driven by JMS destinations.

  • Creating A File Resource Using Tomcat JNDI

    Hi guys,
    My problem is that I am creating a web service and I cannot get to a properties file without creating an absolute reference to that file. If I was creating a servlet I would simple use getServletContext() method to get a relative reference to it. However since it is an axis web service i have to deploy my applications in the WEB-INF/services directory, and because it does not interact with the axis servlet I cannot use getServletContext(). So i thought I could create a JNDI file resource reference in the tomcatHome/conf/context.xml file, similar to how I created a JNDI connection pool. The resouce definition looks like this;
    <Resource name="resource/dialogueEngineConfig" auth="Container"
                      type="java.io.File"
                      url="file:/Applications/apache-tomcat-5.5.1/webapps/axis2/META-INF/DialogueEngine.properties">
    </Resource>now I tried to access the resource in my code like this;
    // Obtain our environment naming
    Context envCtx = (Context) new InitialContext().lookup("java:comp/env");
    // Look up our file
    File  f = (File) envCtx.lookup("resource/dialogueEngineConfig");However I get a NamingException; 'Cannot create resource instance'
    I don't understand why I cant create a file resource in JNDI, it seems like a simple enough thing to do. Am I doing something wrong or missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hello xalien,
    I have the same problem. I need to access external xml config file via JNDI from my servlet, running on Tomcat 5.0.28. Have you manage to define an URL resource? If so, please provide an example how to do it. Many thanx.

  • Issue while polling in clustered environment.

    Hi All,
    I am using a polling adapter which polls records from two database tables. I have set Database rows per transaction as 10 and polling interval as 30 secs. Our servers are running in clustered mode.
    The issue is that, when the rows are picked by node 1 , without waiting for the polling interval node 2 picks up the next set of rows from database.
    As per our requirement, rows should be polled according to the value of Database rows per transaction size. Then adapter should wait for the polling interval and then pick up the next set of rows (in the clustered environment only). Can it be achieved using custom SQL or some java code. If anyone has tried it please help me.
    Thanks in advance.

    See this is misconception that both nodes picks the data in turn one by one.
    It totally depends on the availability of the nodes. This is how a typical active active cluster should behave.
    Both nodes will show similar set of instances as they are pointing to same soa_infra schema.
    We can not differentiate by checking EM that which node actually processed a particular instances.
    I would like to know how are you sure that both nodes are picking file one by one without waiting other one to complete its job.
    I have experience with Active active cluster with uses of DB Adapter in many scenarios. But I never observed this behavior.
    Probably by understanding your applications architecture, answer to your problem can be found.
    Thanks,
    Ashu

  • Uploading & Processing of CSV file  fails in clustered env.

              We have a csv file which is uploaded to the weblogic application server, written

  • File adapter and clustered application

    Hi !
    I have a question about how to use correctly file adpter at sca application in clustered server. My application very simple. Folder with xml files. Composite application - file adapter read folder with mask *.xml. Some times file adapter read one file twice. How I can set lock file when read one server from folder ?
    Edited by: user5427713 on Nov 26, 2012 5:38 AM

    You need to setup the File Adapter for high availability to ensure proper functioning in a clustered environment. Check out the details here in section 5.9.2.2
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E12839_01/core.1111/e10106/ha_soa.htm#CHDJFDAI
    In summary you will need following:
    1. A shared filesystem for the managed servers
    2. Same value for control directory in connection factories
    3. Use eis/HAFileAdapter instead of eis/FileAdapter as connection factory in JCA file.

  • FTP Adapter On in a Clustered Environment

    Hi everyone,
    I noticed that in a clustered environment (3 servers) an FTP Adapter using the “File Modification” feature to get files will get the file 3 times. Is there some configuration that can be done to stop that from happening?

    Try adding Singleton property to adapter and set it as TRUE.
    For reference check this blog - Mark's Blog: File Adapter in Oracle SOA 11g cluster environment

  • Deployment of BPEL (and ESB) into Clustered Environment

    Hi All,
    I was after any view points / pointers into peoples experiences into deployment of BPEL and ESB into a clustered Oracle iAS SOA suite environment, where there are two or more nodes running BPEL, ESB etc with a corresponding OHS Loan Balancers. I have been unable to find any specific information with regards to recommendations into the best ways to deploy into a clustered environment.
    My viewpoints are there are two alternative approaches that could be used, both of which use ANT deployment scripts to register / deploy the various services.
    (1) Leaving all nodes up in the cluster and using a properties file to specify the relevant details, deploy to one environment allowing the load balancer to distribute the software to the respective nodes in the cluster
    (2) Deploy to each of the nodes in turn ensuring all other nodes in the cluster are taken down during each separate deployment
    What are other peoples thoughts / experiences / recommendations?
    Thanks in Advance
    Dave

    I don't believe there is any real information on deployments in a cluster in those documents.
    There is a note on metalink 457654.1 which says to apply to each node, while doing this shut down the other servers. From experience this worked for some configuration and not others.
    Can you say what cluster deployment you used, e.g. 10.1.3.1 or 10.1.3.3 with BPEL and ESB-RT in the same oc4j?
    Also what version are you on. If you are on 10.1.3.4 using the 10.1.3.3 deployment configuration you don't need to shutdown the nodes. And you can get away with just deploying to one node but make sure your <ORACLE_HOME>/bpel/system/config/collaxa-config.xml file has been set to cluster = true. Look at metalink note 746251.1.
    You can experience the notorious Process Lock Timeout Error when not shutdown cleanly but this is resolved using the best practice guide http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/soa/soa-suite-best-practices/soa_best_practices_1013x_drop1.pdf
    ESB can be applied to just one node.
    Make sure that all your endpoints are pointing to the load balancer and not the actual node themselves.
    Also you connect string is different in your build.properties make sure of the following
    cluster = true
    oc4jinstancename = default_group
    local.oc4jinstancename = oc4j_soa (or the oc4j container with BPEL)
    esb
    deployer.uri=deployer:cluster:opmn://hostname:opmn port/default_group
    cheers

  • Error in Server log of one of the server  on the clustered environment(OBI)

    Hi
    We had setup Clustered Environment and when we are trying to log in on to the Primary Server which is also Primary Controller, everything is fine on front end but we had faced the following error in the server log as follows : "[46036] Internal Assertion: Condition m_hFile != hFileNull, file .\Src\mfcfile.cpp, line 447."
    Please provide help by letting me know what this error mean and how can we avoid this error.

    What happens if you disable your master BI server, do you get the error in the other BI Server log when you login to Presentation Services?
    The message is an internal error, you need to raise an SR with Oracle to determine why it's happening and how to prevent it.

  • Restart of services of servers in clustered environment

    Hi
    We had setup clustered environment constituting 2(two) BI Servers and one Presentation Server.We found out that, at a particular time with a difference of 15 mins say b/n 5:30 - 5:45 the services of one of the BI Server is getting restarted.
    Please, help us with a solution.

    I am not sure whether this would be in context or not but...
    Please check if there are any batch files or scripts running in the server everyday at that time which stops the server. In some cases even the server gets restarted which might cause the BI and Presentation server to go down.
    Regards,
    Bhavik
