File saving settings. I want to save as ACM Waveform as a default

I want my default save settings to be ACM Waveform, not Windows PCM. I have to load everything I create into a program called NexGen. It's a radio automation system. For some reason it's not taking the Windows PCM from Adobe 3. It was accepting the PCM from version 1.5, very confusing to me. Does anyone know why that is? And more importantly, does anyone know how to change the setting so I don't have to scroll through all of the save options every time I try to save a file. I save about 20 files per day, and sometimes I'm saving multiple things over and over again, so sometimes I'm saving closer to 100 files per day. It would shave a lot of time if I can be able to save the way I used to. I wish new versions would tell you everything that's going to be different to make your life suck more before telling you all the awesome things a new version can do. Cos right now, this is about issue #10 that is really slowing me down. I will have to say, I'm digging A3 for the most part, though. Thanks for any help you can give.

Just a thought but are you sure that your not saving these wav files as 32bit and not 16bit - that's probably why your other app won't accept them.

I did not create the file to be read-only. I created to be able to continue to add to it as I work on it.

Sounds like a permissions problem ie read only.
If running repair permissions from your DiskUtility.app does not sort it,

Everytime I save a file from chrome it wants to save it with a (1) at the end of the file name. It is extremely frustrating since I save hundreds of pdf files every month.
It is the first time opening the file so it shouldn't be reverting to adding a (1) every time.
    I have chrome Version 28.0.1500.95 m

Chrome does not use Adobe Reader to view or save PDF files. It does it all itself.
Similarly FireFox, though it can be told to use Adobe Reader to view PDF files, doesn't do so by default. And Adobe Reader has nothing to do with saving.

  • Saving where i want to save

I don't know how to fix it, but Skype refuses to download any recieved files where I want it to, regardless of the saved options in the settings. Even though i've changed the to defualt folder to the folder i actually want it to be saved Skype completely ignores this and continues to save the file, change the names to nothing but scrambled numbers and letter AND the thumbnail images [which is annoying as all heck] to the skype folder that's hidden deep inside a million other folders; where it's a pain in the ass to get to and move all the files where THEY SHOULD HAVE SAVED.
Not to mention it saves all these scrambled files as JPEG, instead of PNG so i can't open these is SAI or Photoshop without getting an error message, so i have to jump through a bunch of hoops to convert the files one by one.
Does anyone know a way to make it like the old system, where i can actually CHOOSE where to save it [along with the other things i mentioned above]? Without having to manually save, since that's also a big waste of my time.

There is nothing you can do about this with the latest Skype versions. Image files are transferred now using  the Cloud-transfer mode and the preview is auto saved in the \media_cache folder. After downloading the larger preview file, you can right click on this preview image and select Save As. The original image file will be saved in a folder of your choice.

  • I want to reset my iMac to factory settings but want to save my iTunes library first.  Is that possible?

I have an older iMac (first of the Intel Duo Core) that is running extremely slowly - the rainbow ball spins for 30 seconds between most clicks.  I think it's just overloaded with too much old stuff.  I have most of my files stored on Dropbox. I want to restore it to the factory settings before giving up and buying a new computer.  I don't want to restore from my time machine because I don't want to bring along the old problems.  I have saved my iPhoto libray to an external drive.  Can I do the same with my iTunes?  Or can I somehow sync it to my iPad, iPhone or Air so that I don't lose my music?  If so, can you tell me how?  Also, this computer is too old to sync to iCloud.  Thank you for any help you can give!

AWesome - thank you!  Someone walked me through it with iPhoto.  Any chance you can walk me through?  Also, there's no copyright issue when copying my library back to my computer?

  • Suggestion - better file saving options

From online Adobe tutorials and online discussions it seems that the file saving options in PS Touch are very limited and very frustrating for many people.
I gather Adobe wants us to rely almost exclusively on the 'cloud' to save files in either .psd or the native .psdx format. And even when you save in .jpeg or png formats, you have no options as to where these are saved. All very frustrating.
My suggestion is rhat Adobe allow more file saving options: allow us to save images in the format we'd like and in whatever location we'd like.
Many of us--for different reasons--want the option to save locally; some example: we're traveling and don't have access to the cloud, or don't have time to upload at the time we're working, or simply don't want to use the cloud, or use yet another cloud service.

At the top right there is a selection labeled "new". The choose "idea" then "Adobe Photoshop for Tablet". It will then give you the place to input your new idea.
You might want to check if someone already posted the idea first. I'm pretty sure someone else had already suggested it. You can go to the "new idea" section by choosing browse at the top right, then "ideas". You can also vote on someone's new idea by clicking the up arrow by the vote box. According to one of the staff members, they use this to gauge if a suggestion is something a lot of people want.

  • JPEG/PSD issue--I open a jpeg and edit it (levels, crop) and then "save as" and the save as option shows there are now levels in the image and it wants to save it as a .psd file or a copy with layers.  What am I doing that has these settings appear?

16bit? Pixels extending beyond the canvas? (from a crop with delete unused pixels turn off).  Have you previously been saving PSD files?
IME you sometimes have to tell Photoshop that the first save of a session is JPG, and it remembers from there on.  The way to 'tell' Photoshop that JPG, or PDF, or PNG etc are now your preferred format is to Ctrl (Cmd) click on that format in the Save As drop down list.  So long as the file does not have parameters that your chosen format does not support, then this should work for you.
[EDIT]  Just noticed that you did include 'Crop' in the subject line.  Do you have 'Delete cropped pixels' checked?

  • I cannot get firefox to download -- a box comes up about firefox being a binary file (?) and do I want to save it or cancel -- I was told to save it, which I did but, after saving, I tried to get it to download again and this same box came back up

For Flash, could you try downloading the "full" installers from this page:
    https://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html
In the first table, there are two rows for Windows: one for the ActiveX control for IE, and one for the plugin for Firefox. You might want to grab both. And try the .msi files instead of the .exe files to see whether those work better.
    Will either of those install?
It's odd that on a newly rebuilt system your More System Details shows that you have a user.js file, which is an optional settings files used to override your previous session settings. This is not part of the standard Firefox installation, so if you did not create that file yourself, you may want to investigate or delete it. In Illustrator, I have a saved artwork, then I'm saving a copy as PDF, as usual.
After I keep the AI file open, making some modifications which I don't want to save, so I close the file and click "Don't Save".
Even though I clicked that, the file's modification time is changing.
(The modifications I made are not there, so it's not really saving but why the date is changing then?)
Please find the cause of it! Thank you!

All I can suggest is that you open that file on the MBA and save it as a new file, then see if you can open the new one on the iMac.

  • I do not want to save every file I download. just want to open a file and move on. I do not see an option to just open or run the download without saving.

Please give an option to just open and run a download without saving.
I have a bunch of the things saved in the download folder that I have no clue what all of it is. Please I do not want to save everything I download, I would like to just open a file move on.
    Thank you.

sorry but there is no option like this.
but if you like you can delete them manually
    for these :
1.open downloads from menu button on right or by simply pressing (Ctrl +J )
2.Then select the downloaded file you want to delete by a single click on it.
    3. You will find a folder type icon on right side of that , in which you should click.
    4. Then it will open folder where the selected file saved.
    5. Then you can delete that file .
    OK done

When you restore from a Time Machine back up you can pick and chose what is restored. It is not an all or nothing process. Nor do you have to do the partial restores all at the same time. If days after the first partial restore you find something else you want you can restore just that.

  • I changed a password to a frequesntly used site. Firefox has not asked me if I want to save this new password and I have to keep changing the saved one to the correct one. How do I get it to save the new password?

I have websites I use for my employer that require a password. The employer requires these be changed periodically. Always before, if I changed the password, about the second or third time I tried to log in and changed the saved password to the correct one, Firefox would ask if I wanted to save the new password. It is not doing this now. How can I get it to save a new password? It keeps putting in the old one.

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode.
*You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
*To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting <b>Firefox will: Use custom settings for history</b>
    * Deselect: [ ] "Permanent Private Browsing mode"
The website may be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving the name and password.
