File sequence display problem

I am having a problem today that I have never had before. The files in a particular folder that I have imported are not displayed in filename order. When I first imported them they lined up as expected. However as I have continued to work on the 200-or-so images in the folder, they have fallen completely out of filename sequence. I have searched the menus for a way to rearrange and view them by filename without any luck. I do not use key wording, color ratings, or tags. All files are unrated. Yet each time I reopen the folder to work on it, the images are even more out of order. I have tried manipulating library filters to no avail. I am sure there is something really simple that I am overlooking, but I can't figure out what it might be. The out-of-order file sequence is driving me crazy because I need to edit certain groups of files to match each other. However they are scattered about in different parts of the sequence, despite the fact that their filenames should keep them together. Any ideas?

Just an adendum: I realized that the files are lining up by their original camera capture date and time, even though I have completely renamed and sequenced them in another program (Photo Mechanic) before importing them into LR. This is a real puzzler. I can't figure out how LR is ignoring the filenames in favor of the original capture date and time...

Files not displaying in list view?

I recently upgraded my MacPro (early 2008 8core) from Snow Leopard (10.6.8) to Lion.
At first i wanted to do a fresh install on my machine but soon realised it wasnt possible to import old accounts from another internal drive so i opted to upgrade the system instead.
After doing so I was faced with an odd problem of files not displaying in my finder windows when switching through internal drives or changing from 'file view' to 'list view' or 'column view' etc...
The attached screenshots were taken in sequence youll also note that the path bar & top window name dont update either.
The relevant drives are in healthy condition with several tests run over them to ensure their healthy(Disk Utility & Drive Genius). I have also run permissions repair, and a utility to empty cahces etc (OnyX). From what i can see its possibly something to do with the Finder not updating or refreshing the window? The issue seems to be isolated to the drives however intermittently the problem exists deeper into the directory on 'TerraTank' Volume.
The finder also crashes semi-frequently and the problem seems to dispaear for a while and revealing the contents of these volumes for a few mins.
I have also checked activity monitor to see if any particular process was going haywire and all seemed relativly normal.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Onyx may be causing problems. Don't use it on a non-backed up system, as cleaning caches may damage them, and make things not work. Make sure your Spotlight indexes all drives you wish to be searchable. Go to Apple menu -> System Preferences -> Spotlight and add each hard drive to the Privacy section, and then remove it again. Then click on the Spotlight menu every half hour to see when it stops saying that it is indexing. It might take a few hours. But once done, it should be fixed.

The problem is in the delimiters in your text file. By default, Read From Spreadsheet File.vi expects a tab delimited file. You can specify a delimiter (like a space), but Read From Spreadsheet File.vi has a problem with repeated delimiters: if you specify a single space as a delimiter and Read From Spreadsheet File.vi finds two spaces back-to-back, it stops reading that line. Your file (as I got it from your earlier post) is delimited by 4 spaces.
Here are some of your choices to fix your problem.
1. Change the source file to a tab delimited file. Your VI will then run as is.
2. Change the source file to be delimited by a single space (rather than 4), then wire a string constant containing one space to the delimiter input of Read From Spreadsheet File.vi.
3. Wire a string constant containing 4 spaces to the delimiter input of Read From Spreadsheet File.vi. Then your text file will run as is.
Depending on where your text file comes from (see more comments below), I'd vote for choice 1: a tab delimited text file. It's the most common text output of spreadsheet programs.
Comments for choices 1 and 2: Where does the text file come from? Is it automatically generated or manually generated? Will it be generated multiple times or just once? If it's manually generated or generated just once, you can use any text editor to change 4 spaces to a tab or to a single space. Note: if you want to change it to a tab delimited file, you can't enter a tab directly into a box in the search & replace dialog of many programs like notepad, but you can do a cut and paste. Before you start your search and replace (just in the text window of the editor), press tab. A tab character will be entered. Press Shift-LeftArrow (not Backspace) to highlight the tab character. Press Ctrl-X to cut the tab character. Start your search and replace (Ctrl-H in notepad in Windows 2000). Click into the Find What box. Enter four spaces. Click into the Replace With box. Press Ctrl-V to paste the tab character. And another thing: older versions of notepad don't have search and replace. Use any editor or word processor that does.

Weird event display problem in week view

Hi. I'm getting a weird display problem in week view. First time this has ever happened.
Some events appear to be missing, but when i double click on where I know the event is supposed to be, a new event is created (as excepted), and the missing events suddenly appear. When i move forward or back by a week, and then return to the week in question, the missing events are gone again. But, I can see the missing events in day view or month view.
Any ideas?

Next, try reinstalling the Mac OS X v10.6.2 Update (Combo).
If that is unsuccessful:
1. Use iCal>Export...>for each one of your individual calendars.
2. Delete all but one of your calendars.
3. Create a calendar and name it "Test."
4. Delete the calendar which remained after step #2.
5. Quit iCal.
6. Remove the iCal plist, and drag the iCal plist file to your Desktop.
7. Log out/in or restart.
8. Restart iCal and use iCal>File>Import...for each one of the calendars that you exported in step #1.
9. Delete the "Test" calendar, and any "Home/Work" calendar which was automatically created when you opened iCal in step #8.

How to open a file and display the complete file path?

In my script, I want to create a dialog that prompts the user to define a few variables for the script. One of those variables is the path to a template file. I want it to work the same way that an upload form works. You click the browse button, the dialog appears so that you can browse for the file and then when you click OK or Open, the full path of the file is displayed in the text box next to it. How do I do this with JavaScript? I got this far and it seems to be working, but the wrong text is being displayed in the text box. Plus: How do I properly restrict the file types to PSD. The code doesn't seem to work, despite the fact that there are no errors reported. Initially the Text box is blank, but After I browse for the file, the text box says: "File". Here is the problem area:

The reason is that stbFile is a File object, you need to access its properties in order to get the full path.

How can I get the cursor's position in a opened file and display a menu?

Hello,
I want to make a program by which I will be able to display a panel/pops up menu at the corsor's current position, (In any text/doc file or in the desktop, we can display a menu by right click of the mouse.) Now I want my program to do the same task.
More clearly-
1. First I would save some words or sentences in a file(aa.txt).
2. Then I would open another text file/ a word/ excel/ or any other editor( bb.txt / cc.doc / dd.xls / ee.html ).
3. While editing or writing something in the opened file, if I click the right mouse button/ press a key (ctrl+space), a menu will appear containing the sentences I saved in the file(aa.txt) previously.
My program will tell me the cursor's position in bb.txt / cc.doc / dd.xls / ee.html that i opened. And display a menu. my problem is not reading / writing in a file.
My problem is how can I get the cursor's position in a opened file display a menu at that position by a mouse/key action*.
Would you please help me on this regard.

Time machine backups are failing. I've followed the instructions I found on the Time Machine troubleshooting page (http://pondini.org/TM/Troubleshooting.html) but have gotten to where I don't know what to do next.
Sequence of events:
The main error message is always:
An error occurred while copying files. The problem could be temporary. If the problem persists, use Disk Utility to repair your backup disk.
Yesterday, I opened Disk Utility and verified the disk. Got this error:
Error: This disk needs to be repaired using the Recovery HD. Restart your computer, holding down the Command key and the R key until you see the Apple logo. When the OS X Utilities window appears, choose Disk Utility.
I ran Disk Utility and repaired the hard drive. Then I manually started the backup before going to bed, figuring it was going to take a long time to run. When I got up this morning, the backup had failed with the same "could be temporary" error. I checked the log, which says:

You have repaired your boot drive (which is good) but have you repaired your time machine drive? I don't own a Time Capsule so I don't know if disk utility can operate on it. If it can, you should repair it as well. You may need to erase it and start a new backup. That happens to time machine volumes from time to time and is why people who are serious about their data never rely on a single source of backup.

BSP File Download - .TIF problems

Dear all!
I haven't been able to fix this problem,
please see my post for further information. I am using SAP.help coding to display files in BSPs (6.20, "BSP with flow logic" pages used). See the coding below.
Somehow .tif files can not be displayed. Every other mime type works fine.

In a quite complex file upload and download scenario which works fine we use the following coding to display files received from the backend in our page.
OnInitialization: receives file backend data such as filesize, content(xstring) and mimetype.
This works all fine. Mimetype is delivered correctly.
OnInputProcessing:
This has been taken from the help.sap.com documentation -
    runtime->server->response->set_data( mycontent ).
      runtime->server->response->set_header_field(
        name   = 'Content-Disposition'
        value = lv_downname ).
    runtime->server->response->set_header_field( name = 'Content-Type' value = mymimetype ).
    runtime->server->response->set_header_field( name = 'Content-Length' value = myfilesize ).

    navigation->response_complete( ).
RESULT:
the file is displayed fine. When trying to save the displayed file locally on the hard disc, the mimetype is not available. The system (Windows XP) provides only .bmp as file type. Also the context menu entry "Properties" of the displayed file shows NOT AVAILABLE as mimetype.
Is this a common problem? How can I achieve to have the mimetype information available for a save?

I have uploaded the document to the server-cache as mentioned above. If I test it on the standalone machine, everything works fine. But when I have to connect to the BSP-Application through an EP I am getting the error:

I'm sure I will be calling AppleCare, but the problem is, they charge for the phone calls don't they? Because I don't have money to be spending to be on the phone with a support service.
In other things, it seemed like the only time my MacBook was working was when I had Snow Leopard without the 10.6.8 update download that was supposed to be done to prepare for OS X Lion.
When I look at the information of my HD it says that I have 10.6.8 but that was the install that it claimed to have failed and caused me to restart resulting in all of the repeated problems.
Also, because my computer is currently down, and I've lost all files how would that effect the use of my iPhone? Because if it doesn't get fixed by the time OS 5 is released, how would I be able to upgrade?!

Can anyone help with unstable display problem

I have my InDesign preference set to High Quality Display. When I open a file it displays fine. But a few seconds later it reverts to Typical Display mode. The High Quality display checkbox is still checked and there is nothing I can do to have the file display in high quality. Any suggestions?

I am afraid your suggestion did not solve my problem. I renamed the two files suggested, but the problem persists. Any new suggestions would be really appreciated. I am just unable to see my documents in high resolution.
Again, they start out looking good and slowly every image transitions to low resolution. It's really wierd how it's transitioning, almost unnoticeably. But within about a minute they are all pixelated.

Display problem, and maybe worse

On startup this morning my iMac (PowerPC) G5 display began behaving very strangely. The screen is displaying my usual desktop picture, dock and icons, and finder window. Applications are running, but very oddly.
The screen is covered in small visible dots, some flashing, some static. When I open a document, or a page in Safari, it displays more or less normally (I can use Word, for example), by then "smears" if I start to scroll down the page. At other times the graphics break up completely.
I'm guessing this is a display problem, but one other odd symptom is that sometimes if I click on a file in the Finder window, instead of opening the document the window shuts down and re-opens in its starting configuration.
I tried a restart, but it stuck on a black screen, and I had to force it to stop via holding the start button, and start again from there. I tried accessing system profiler, and it all froze up, requiring another button stop / start.
It looks like a hardware issue, but I've no idea what kind. Anybody recognise what is happening? (I'm posting this from my iBook).

Display problem- Missing letters

Hello there,
I had a display problem with my 15" mac book pro. Sometimes the words on the menu bar will have missing letters. For example, F le Ed t Vi w and etc. This does not only happen in the main interface, it also occurs when I'm browsing websites (the contents have missing letters too)or open other applications(iphoto, imovie) The problem is getting worse these days, I 'll have to restart my computer every single time when it happens.
Does anyone have any solution to this technical issue?

I tried IVMichael's suggestion above and had no joy, but when i restarted i found a file called /Users/your_name/Library/Preferences/com.apple.LaunchServicesQuartantined
after deleting that and restarting i seem to have solved the problem.

Local copy of file during Display

Hi,
I have mainitained C:\temp\ as the path for the frontend in DC20. Whenever the file is displayed in CV03N I have noticed that the file does get copied to this location but there is one more copy of the file created in local temp directory (C:\DOCUME1\user\LOCALS1\Temp) with some name as "~SAP{50D31B32-9545-4728-8206-B631EEBD27DC}.docx".
I noticed this since I have field parameters set in the word file which fetches the filename as one of the parameter value. This value is replaced with the value as "~SAP{50D31B32-9545-4728-8206-B631EEBD27DC}.docx" whenever some one prints the document from cv03n. This is causing a problem.
i don't understand why multiple copies are created and display is done form a different file.
Any solution would be appreciated.

How to debug file content conversion problems?

I'm trying to debug a file content conversion problem. I'm mapping a few nodes in an IDOC to a file of fixed length fields. I'm using the "<Node A>.fieldFixedLengths", "<Node B>.fieldFixedLengths", "<Node C>.fieldFixedLengths", etc. parameters to specify the fixed length records.
However, a certain node (for e.g. Node B) is causing a problem and if it is present in the IDOC, the output file does not get created. Upon checking the XI monitor, I notice that the file gets mapped correctly and thus the problem lies when the file adapter does the file content conversion. How do I debug this because there is no descriptive error in the XI log? If this node is not present, the file gets generated fine.

If your SXMB_MONI shows, success status, then go to RWB->Message Monitoring->Message display tool and then check Audit log for the analysis,
So it wil help you debug the situation.
If there is no error, then check RWB->Component Monitoring->Adapter Monitoring for you file communciation channel..
