File sharing setup causing static when using Itunes

We have 2 ibook g4's, and use an airport express to play music on our creature speakers. It's worked great up till now. We setup file sharing on both laptops ... and ever since we only get static when we try playing music in itunes.
You can hear the music, but it's very faint under the static
Speakers work fine when used with our dvd player etc
Have turned off file sharing with no change
Rebooted both machines
We both use the latest itunes & osx vers
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

appears itunes is not the culprit, as I've used airtunes with other apps with the same result. will repost this under another category.

Copy the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder to teh external.
Hold Option and launch iTunes.
select Choose library... and select the iTunes folder on the external.
Make sure the external is connected and ready before launching iTunes.

Deleting iTunes files on a Mac when using iTunes Match

When using iTunes Match, how do you go about deleting the music that resides on the Mac HD? With my music being stored on the iCloud, it sure would be good to free up some HD space.

Music is deleted exactly the same way as prior to using iTunes Match.

Ok so I've been doing more testing. It's all videos on the iTunes store. Anytime I try to download a podcast or stream it or anything it's super slow. To download an episode of Diggnation it tells me over 2 hours to download but the time keeps climbing and I just stop the transfer.
Some people said it's an Open DNS thing? Maybe it is but it's not computer specific and I couldn't find a way to change the DNS settings in my Airport, only on each computer. I tried deleting PLists and restoring my Apple TV and restoring my Airport and nothing is working.
I don't know if it an issue with me, my ISP or Apple. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

well to be 100% technical, no you didn't but that aside, it good to know there are ways for people to transfer music into the default apps without iTunes, if they have a need.
I tend to use 3rd party apps for documents, like your mentioned iExplorer etc, which are handy.
I see from a search the two "apps" you mentioned are not iOS apps, which I had assumed, SyncPod and FreeSync are apps for your computer, that would explain their access to the default Music/Video apps.
I had wondered how Apple had allowed iOS apps in the store that could get around the sandboxing in iOS of apps.

Computer shutting down when using iTunes

Everytime I try to download/update something via iTunes, my computer completely shuts off. It has never done this before and only happens when using iTunes.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

Not to suggest the obvious, but have you updated and run your Malware/spyware software lately? If you don't have one, ewido.com has a free trial, and it's fantastic.
This is the easiest thing to try, so if this doesn't work, post back and we'll try to make some other suggestions...

Ok, if you are connecting the AirPort Express Base Station (AX) to the existing wireless network, then the DSL in the next room is most likely a combination DSL modem and wireless router. Thanks for clarifying that for me.
Although they may only be separated by a single wall, the building material used in that wall may be enough to prevent the AX from receving a "good" signal from the DSL router.
Since I don't know what computing equipment you have available, please check out this AirPort User Tip: AirPort - Optimal Base Station Placement to see if you can get some SNR measurements at the location of your AX. To do this properly, you will want to power-off the AX and only get these measurements for the DSL router.

You don't need to use the sidebar to pull up the info, actually. Just scroll on the edge of the window and the file sharing stuff will show up.

Will Authortime shared assets be cached when using Incremental Compilation?

I'm learning about some new CS5.5 features (also found in CS6).
I have some projects with extremely large filesizes because of embedded videos (its not an option to break these out externally - long story). Some compiled SWFs can reach 120MB+
CS5.5 adds a feature where you can share an asset between two FLAs. My thought is to put each embedded videos in their own separate FLA files to speed up saving and editing.
Secondly, CS5.5 adds a feature called "Incremental Compilation" - you can set a cache size in the "Publish Cache" Preference setting. I haven't tried this yet, but I would think it would greatly improve rendering time when testing this movie. I have a machine with 16GB of RAM.
My question is if I use the Shared Asset feature, will it still be cached by incremental compilation?

I saw that Outlook 2013 by default caches everything and that's what I wanted. I tested however adding this regkey to see what happened and after that the email shows up in the mailboxes... Somehow the mail from shared mailboxes doesn't want to be
cached...
Does anyone know what this could be? I want everything to be cached, also the shared mailboxes but somehow this doesn't work and it does when using Outlook 2010....

Efficient (Large) file sharing setup

Hi, I have users that email large Excel files daily and weekly over LAN and WAN and I want to stop this. I'm trying to figure a more user friendly and network/email server friendly way of doing this. I'm not sure would a file server/web setup be the best. Any suggestions?

On your LAN you could run Apple file sharing and samba sharing for your pc users.
Look into sharepoints
Sharing files over the internet needs to be secure so your best only using apple file sharing over a VPN connection.
Other than that you could setup an SFTP server. Create a generic none admin account on a mac designated as the server. Then goto the sharing prefernces and turn on remote login.
Then port forward tcp port 22 from your router to the IP address of that mac. Then any users can access it over the internet or lan using an SFTP client. They login with the generic username and password you created.
