File status remains "new version available"

Hello everyone,
We are a writing team of two people and some time ago a third person joined us. We are working with RoboHelp HTML 9 and use Robosource Control to share our project. This third person has been given access to the Robosource Control project and he has opened the project for the first time on his computer directly from RoboHelp. (File > Open > Open Project from Version Control > Follow the steps). This seemed to work perfectly, but after the project opened in RoboHelp, the File status pod indicated that all files had the status "New version available". This seemed a little odd, because it was the first time he opened the project. Obviously I tried to do a "Get latest version all", but this didn't solve anything. I decided to let this be and see if it would resolve itself when he started working in the project. Unfortunately, the files still have this status. Now that he (the third person) has finished editing his topics and has checked them in, I can see his files in my File status pod and they also have the "New version available" status and it remains there, whatever I try. I've tried opening RoboSource Control and "getting" them there, but it doesn't work.
Anyone have a clue what is going on? It's not a major issue, we can access the project and edit topics just fine, but I would prefer to see this fixed asap. We all know how messy Source Control can get

    We've been using RoboSource Control successfully for the last 12 months, but recently we've noticed that on the File Status tab in RH a large number of files have a status of "New version available". In addition, we've noticed today that the link between our projects and RSC is no longer working. The strange thing is that my colleagues and I can still open projects that are in RSC, and get the latest versions, but it still thinks there are newer versions available and any changes we make aren't being reflected on the server, i.e. we can't see each other's changes. I've tried disconnecting one of our projects from RSC and re-adding it, but it makes no difference.
    Has anyone encountered this behaviour before?
    We've been upgraded to Windows 8 recently and we've also upgraded our projects from RH10 to RH11. Could this be a factor?
    Any help would be much appreciated.
    UPDATE: It looks like the changes are being updated on the server, as I can right-click a file in source control that I have changed, choose View, and see the amendments in the HTML. What's happening is the date and timestamp of the updated files are not being updated, so I'm guessing that because of this, source control doesn't recognise that files have changed. This means that when someone tries to get the latest version it doesn’t think there is one. Is it possible that a setting on the server could have changed to prevent the date and timestamp from being updated?

    If you go to Photoshop>About Plug-in and click on the words Camera Raw, what version does it list?
    I suspect you still have Camera Raw 7.0
    When you go to Help>Updates from within photoshop cs6, it says nothing available?

  • Twonkey media server unable to read mp4 files created by new version of Leawo Blu Ray Ripper

    For the past week I have been ripping DVDs with a new version (v7.3.0.3) of Leawo Blu Ray Ripper.  The Twonkey media server (v7.2.9-1) on my WD4100DL will not read the newer files compared to movies ripped with the old version (v7.2.1.4).  My Roku media server does just fine.  Is there an upgrade of the Twonkey media server available?

    I think that Leawo has helped me to solve the problem.  The MP4 files that I made using the old version of Blu-Ray Ripper apparently defaulted to H.264 video codec for MP4 files.  Twonky is able to read those files. The new version (7.3.0.3) of Leawo Blu-Ray Ripper defaulted to MPEG4 video codec.  Twonkey cannot read those MP4 files.  I have changed the video codec to H.264 in Blu-Ray Ripper and I am in the process of ripping a DVD now.  I will post the result.

  • I can't save an old InDesign file to the new version

    I can't save an old InDesign file to the new version. I keep getting this message:
    I can only save the file as .IDML.

    This happens to ALL old InDesign files on my iMac (problem does not happen on my Macbook pro). I have saved the files as .idml and opened them again. I get the same error when I try to save the file as .indd. They can ONLY be saved as .idml.
    I never embed images and do not have font issues (file was created on the same iMac as it is being opened on now).
    Sometimes I get an error when I first try to open an old file - it ays the file is damaged and can't be opened. I try again right after and it opens fine.

    You may need to design the site again in older version OR may be copy and paste in place from new to old except what is new in the latest version.

    Hi Jocomo,
    That's correct. Dropbox does not handle Numbers 3.0 for Mac and Numbers 2.0 for iOS documents well at all. They will probably fix this.
    But why are you using Dropbox for this?  Numbers has built-in iCloud integration for the very purpose of syncing documents back and forth.  It's much easier than using Dropbox even if Dropbox could handle the new Numbers format.  And it's now quite reliable.
    To enable iCloud with Numbers on your Mac:
    In System Preferences>iCloud make sure you have Documents & Data turned on:
    And after clicking Options, make sure you have checked Numbers.app:
    On your iPad you need to make sure iCloud sync is turned on in TWO places:
      Settings>iCloud>Documents & Data>Numbers
      Settings>Numbers>Use iCloud
    If you have entered the right iCloud credentials on your Mac and iPad, Numbers will then sync back and forth. It's much easier than putting in Dropbox and then having to Open in... , etc.  You can of course still keep backup copies of your documents in Dropbox if you want.

Please update to the latest version>, but when I try to update the app, creative cloud says Muse is up to date and there is no option to update it. I need to solve this urgently please, I really need this file working today.

    If you're part of the Beta program for Muse, this dialog would be displayed if the file was opened and saved using a Prerelease/Beta version of Muse. (Once saved with a newer version of Muse, a file can no longer be opened by the older version(s).) If that isn't your situation, please send us the .muse file at [email protected] (along with a link to this thread for context) so we can investigate further. If the file is larger than 20Mb you can send it using a service such as DropBox, WeTransfer, Adobe SendNow, etc. Thanks.

    Open them in the appropriate version. You can download a 30-day demo of Illustrator 14. You can also ask the supplier to down-save for you.

  • ITunes 7 New Version Available message won't quit

    Just installed iTunes 7 - "New Version Available" message keeps popping up every 5 seconds or so. This message took forever to type because every few seconds my computer switched from my browser application to the Finder. In other words, I can't really use iTunes and do anything else on my computer at the same time. Anyone else encounter this problem? Annoying! Tried unchecking the "Check automatically for updates" option in Preferences - that didn't help. Suggestions? Solutions?

    Go to the Apple website and download the package and install it. I never rely on Software Update except to show me what it thinks I need.

    If you have not done so, also install QuickTime 7.3 using the full installer.
    Always remember to repair permissions / verify/repair disk before and after. And back up your iTunes data.

    When I open an Ibook I created in iauthor I get a pop up "New Version Available" You won't be able to add notes, highlights or bookmarks until you update this book.
    All my updates are up to date.  Can anyone please help me with this?

    If you check About Numbers (first items in the Numbers menu) when it fails to open a documents, I suspect you will find that it is Numbers 2.3 that is attempting to open the file.
    The instaler for the new version creates a new folder, names it iWork 09, places it in the Applications folder, and moves the existing iWork '09 applications into that folder. It does NOT delete them from your machine (and you should consider carefully before taking that step yourself).
    The new versions are then installed directly into the Applications Folder.
    Suggested actions:
    In Finder, open the Applications folder, locate Numbers.
    Select the icon for Numbers and drag it to the Dock to install an alias to the new version there.
    Note the differences between the icons for Numbers '09 and the new Numbers (one more bar, and different colours).
    (Repeat with Pages and Keynote, it you have also installed the new versions of those.)
    The new version of Numbers has several significant improvements, particularly in regard to compatibility with Numbers for iOS and Numbers for iCloud, but it has also lost several useful features that were present in the earlier version.
    You may want to keep both available, at least for now, and use whichever version has the features you need for a particular job.
    You can specify which version is to open a document by:
    right-clicking on its icon then choosing Open with > and the application you want to use
    dragging the document's icon to the Docked icon of the Numbers version you want to use and dropping it there.
    launching the application version and opening the document from the File > Open menu path
    Note that once opened by and saved from Numbers 3, a document cannot be opened by Numbers '09 unless it is exported from Numbers 3 in Numbers '09 format.

  • ITunes says new version available / Software Update says no updates???

    I started iTunes today on my MacBook Air and it immediately reported that there is a new version of iTunes available. After responding to the prompt regarding a new version by clicking on the "Download iTunes" button, iTunes launched Software Update. However, Software Update does its check and then comes back with a message that there is no software to update.
    The version of iTunes on my system is 10.2, not the new 10.2.1. Anyone have any idea why Software Update does not believe there is an update when iTunes does? Any way to fix this?

    I've a 2010Mini and a late2008MBP15, both running OSX 10.6.6.
    Updating to 10.2.1 went charming well on the mini, but not the same on the MBP:
    iTunes "info on iTunes" shows version 10.1.1 running... even after I removed iTunse (and iTunes Helper) from the HDD and re-installed from a freshly downloaded 10.2.1 DMG file.
    As i start iTunes, it shows "upgrade available" message, but software upgrade utility doesn't find any upgrade, of course.
    BTW, I even verified iTunes.app version using "file information" and the one in my Applications folder is 10.2.1... but as I run it, it "believes" to be 10.1.1
    Any Clue?

    My final project for this quarter in a web design class is due in less than a week. And suddenly, after months of working with this exact file, it won't open. I'm trying to open it in CC (newest version of Muse) at school. At home, I downloaded a trial version of it. I would think the trial version would be the absolute newest version..and even if it wasn't, why can't the even newer version open it? PLEASE help me. And, what do I do if my trial version has expired (I'm not home right now, so I can't check..) and I can't open it to fix it (if that's what I needed to do..)?
    Note: at school we have CC, always updated. At home I have CS6, but downloaded a trial version of Muse. So, I would think the trial version would be the newest and CC not CS6. I don't know, though!
    Note: is there a way to extend my trial version for, like, an hour, to retrieve this file? It would absolutely suck if I can't get it back now. I've spent a long time on this.
