File Storage on iCloud

I have the annual PS CC and LR 5 desktop subscription; do I also have the free storage on iCloud?  If so,  what size and what limitations?

First a quick clarification that iCloud is an Apple service.
Yes you have file storage with the Creative Cloud as part of your annual subscription. You have 20 GB of storage which you can access from https://creative.adobe.com/files. You upload files to the cloud using a web browser.
If you want to use file syncing to upload files then sign up at the Early Access page here https://creative.adobe.com/earlyaccess.

i got a question, i have two device, ipad and iphone.
if i delete a file which is stored on icloud from my iphone, it will be also deleted on icloud? how is the file in my ipad, deleted or restored to icloud, and download automaticaly to your iphone
    Thank you

    Yes.
That's what iCloud does it keeps all your documents and data the same on all your devices.

  • How can I delete the photos or files in my iCloud storage that is no longer needed?

How can I delete the photos or files in my icloud storage that is no longer needed?

Explain how it didn't work and what you are trying to delete.  Since icloud doesn't store photos except for those in a backup (then delete the backup); photos in photo stream do not count towards your storage limit.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
First check that your device is correctly connected to the wifi/internet (settings > wifi)
If your back up continually fails, you might try turning off back up on your mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup) and then deleting the backup file from iCloud by swiping the backup file on the mobile device (settings > iCloud > storage & backup > manage…) and then turning back up on again.
If this doesn't help, try turning off some items for back up in a pattern to try to establish if your problem is being caused by specific data on your device.
Being able to back up to the cloud can be very useful, especially if you don't have access to a computer or have infrequent access to one, however unless you specifically need to use iCloud for back up, you will find backing up to iTunes significantly more convenient and possibly more reliable.

    Hi henawybek,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
Take a look at the article linked below, it provides answers to frequently asked questions about iCloud Drive and will help you solve your question.
    iCloud Drive FAQ
You can access your files in iCloud Drive any of these ways:
On your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with iOS 8, you can use Apple apps like Pages, Numbers, and Keynote, or any apps that support iCloud Drive.
    I hope this helps.

  • Files uploaded to iCloud Drive also taking up space on local hard drive

    Hello all!
    Quick question:
Why are files uploaded to iCloud Drive also taking up space on my hard drive?  I want to use my iCloud Drive for cloud based back up of certain files.  I do not want these files to sync automatically, but to live in the cloud unless I need them.
When I upload something to iCloud Drive it also appears to be stored locally on my hard drive, as my available disk space is reduced by the size of the file I have uploaded to iCloud Drive.
    Thoughts?

In other words, there is no way to have a file live only in the cloud?
    No.
Just a short note in addition to Kappy's answer:  iCloud is not an additional external storage, it is a common storage for keeping the contents synced across all devices.
What you are moving to iCoud will be copied to all devices that are syncing with iCloud.
See this link:   iCloud Drive FAQ
With iCloud Drive, you can safely store all your presentations, spreadsheets, PDFs, images, and any other kind of document in iCloud. Documents you store in iCloud Drive will be kept up to date across all of your devices, and you can access them from your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, or PC.
Here's what you can do with iCloud Drive:
Store and access all of your documents in one place from any of your devices
Keep files and folders up to date across all your devices
Create new files and folders from iCloud-enabled apps
Work on the same file across multiple apps

  • Is there a way to Move files to the iCloud thus freeing up disk space on my Mac? Or does iCloud only sync (replicate) files between my Mac and the cloud?

Is there a way to Move files to the iCloud thus freeing up disk space on my Mac? Or does iCloud only sync (replicate) files between my Mac and the cloud? I want to free up disk space on my Mac and assumed that the icloud would be a good way to do this, but having 'moved' 70Gb of files to the iCloud drive (I've upgraded to 200Gb storage) my Mac is still nearly full and I've realised that it seems to just Sync files just like dropbox.

So, the big question is did the Apple guys confirm that this is how the new iCloud drive should be working?  I'm guessing, from your response, that this is indeed the case.  Are they going to fix this anytime soon?  I thought that this was a new function of the iCloud drive in Yosemite.
I just want an online storage facility to back up my photo & music collections.  I did look at Dropbox as they have a good deal going with their Dropbox Pro, however this is still just a sync service where the Master files reside on your local disk drive - although I have read that there may be a way to work around this.  Still not ideal.

  • The harddrive holding my itunes library is damaged and I would like to purchase the icloud.  Can I restore files to the icloud without the disk/libraries?

the harddrive holding my itunes library is damaged and I would like to purchase the icloud.  Can I restore files to the icloud without the disk/libraries?  Thanks!

iCloud does not provide a service like Dropbox where you can save random files to it as a way of having external storage.  As for the HD damage, don't you have a backup of the itunes library elsewhere?  If so, copy it to the replacement hard drive, along with any other important files that were on the damaged HD.

  • How do i recover a file deleted from iCloud on my iPad

how do i recover a file deleted from iCloud on my iPad? It's a pages document

check at https://www.icloud.com/ to see if the file is saved there in documents or iCloud drive
if not check under settings > iCloud > storage > manage storage and see if there is a backup of the iPad from when the document was still saved
if there is restoring your iPad form that backup may recover it
Restore your device from an iCloud or iTunes backup - Apple Support
if there is not then check to see if it is still saved on any other computers or devices to see if it is saved there
    good luck

  • HT4910 how to move my videos and photos from ipad storage to icloud storage?

I would like to purchase more videos and music from apple store, however i dont have enough storage space left, i purchased more storage for icloud back up, now i am having hard time to move files of movies, photos and music to icloud back up storage and i still can not buy more movies or music. How to move things to icloud storage please?

iCloud doesn't store movies or music.  It only allows you to redownload purchases from the iTunes store if you ever lose them (assuming they are still available to redownload, and in the case of movies, that the studio permits it.)  Also iCloud only stores your camera roll photos in your backup, which can only be accessed by restoring your iPad to the entire backup.
iCloud isn't designed to do what you are trying to do.  iCloud is for syncing data across all your devices and for backing up your devices, not storing your data.  You use iTunes on your computer for that.  iTunes will add your purchased videos and music to your iTunes library so you can remove it from your iPad and add it back later if you want.  To save your photos you import them to your computer (and then delete them from your iPad if you want) as described in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.

I have a macbook pro I use for work and iMac at home. What is best way to manage my files? Use iCloud? Dock my laptop when I come home? Appreciate any suggesitons

That depends on what kind of "files" you're talking about and what your employer's policy is on using cloud storage.
I found dropbox and/or OneDrive work very well for keeping documents in sync between multiple machines.

  • HT4847 How do you move data from your phone storage to iCloud?

You can purchase extra storage from iCloud. So shouldn't you be able to store stuff there as opposed to using your phones storage? How would I sry this up?

In theory, you should, but Apple doesn't let you at this moment. You can send this idea to Apple > http://www.apple.com/feedback
The iCloud storage idea is a bit confusing for users because it's not designed to store the files you want. Instead, you can save on it files created with apps that are compatible with iCloud, for example, iWork apps. In this case, you can store data on iCloud, but it doesn't let you to move other files like movies or photos

  • Unable to buy movie due to limited storage - bought more storage from iCloud - still no go

I have bought one movie from iTunes - great! Tried to purchase another and hit with no enough storage.  Bought extra storage from iCloud and still unable to buy movie due to limited storage - how do I store the movie to iCloud to view?

    Yes, they should be.

If I erase one movie from my iPad and buy another I'll be able to retrieve from the iTune on my PC?
Yes, unless there is a major difference in file size for the two movies.

  • File transfer problem iCloud iPhoto library

I want to transfer my iPhoto library into iCloud - the transfer is not happening. How do I either come back to be able to access the file or proceed with the file transfer to iCloud?

In the iPhoto Library previously, am I correct that anything put on the iCloud with the app only stays there for a specific and only limited time -- for 'sharing' and not storage?
It depends on the type of Photo Stream you use.  The My Photo Stream is for syncing photos from mobile devices to your iPhoto Library and get imported if the library is set up accordingly. The remain in the My Photo Stream for 30 days.
Shared Photo Streams remain indefinitely and can be shared with anyone, either privately or as a public stream.
If I am correct, has this feature changed on the new update, Photos app? Will the pictures be stored there and not be removed
If you choose to use the iCloud Photo Library feature all of your photos will be copies to the iCloud Photo Library and be accessible from all devices signed in to the same Apple ID.  A copy will be on your hard drive but you can elect to have an optimized copy instead of a full copy.
The iPhoto Photo Library will require purchasing enough space  to house your library in the cloud.  Unfortunately one can't selectively put just part of a Photo Library in the iCloud Photo Library.  It's all or nothing.  Now one could have multiple Photo Libraries on your Mac, with one just for the iCloud Photo Library.  But at this time there's no convenient method of transferring photos from one Photo library to another like we can with iPhoto and iPhoto Library Manager.  I understand the iPLM is being ported over to be used with Photos so that would make the method I suggested viable.
Personally, there are enough features lacking with Photos that I will be maintaining and using my iPhoto Library as well as using Photos for as along as iPhoto will work.

  • Only 1 file shown in iCloud

I only have 1 file showing in my storage...how can I add all my other files and make sure future documents get saved?

    Hello az_jamie03,
It sounds like you have documents on your Mac that you want to have join your 1 other document stored in iCloud, as well as ensure that future documents are saved to iCloud. First use this article to add the files to your iCloud storage:
iCloud: Access iWork documents stored in iCloud
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ph2704
Upload documents from a Mac or Windows computer to iCloud iWork
You can upload documents to iCloud iWork after editing or creating them on your Windows computer or your Mac with OS X v10.7.5 or later.
In iCloud iWork, click the button for the type of document you wish to upload: Keynote for presentations, Pages for word processing, or Numbers for spreadsheets.
If necessary, select the folder that contains the document.
    Do one of the following:
Drag one or more documents from the desktop to the iCloud iWork window.
Choose Upload document type from the Action pop-up menu , select one or more documents, then click Choose. The amount of data being uploaded and the estimated time remaining for the upload is displayed in the Uploading Document window.
Documents you upload from your computer initially have generic icons in iCloud iWork. After you open a document on your iOS device or Mac with OS X v10.8 or later, the document’s icon is updated in iCloud iWork.
And when you create a new document, and want to save it you can save it directly to iCloud:
Choose File > Save, then name the document.
Add any tags.Tag files and folders with colors and labels
Choose where to save the document from the Where menu. You can choose iCloud or a folder on your Mac. If you don’t see the folder you want, click the downward-pointing triangle.
Set any other options, then click Save.
If you save your document to iCloud, you can still edit it even when you’re not connected to the Internet.
