File Sync "coming soon"?

The creative cloud on my laptop (which has been syncing all my files until today) now says that file sync is "coming soon!" when I try to access my files. Is the sync feature down?
And, Adobe, I used to love your products! What happened to your standards of providing quality products and service? It seems I am on here every other day with some new issue!

What version of the Creative Cloud app does it show you have if you go to the gear icon in the top right > Preferences > Account tab within the General section?

  • Sync files service and Adobe Typekit not working (coming soon message)

    Hello there,
About a month ago I started as a new member of Creative Cloud, the apps are working fine, but I still get the "comming soon" message for the "File Sync" service and the Adobe Typekit. When am I going to be able to use these features? Is there something I have to do to "enable" it?
    Thanks!
    Rodrigo

    Just received this message
You’re in! Get started with Fonts and Files
We’re excited to offer you early access to Creative Cloud file and Typekit font syncing. This will bring the files you store on the cloud—and the fonts you use on the web—to your desktop for use in the apps you work with every day.
Ready to begin? If you don’t already have the Creative Cloud desktop app, grab it from the Download Center—it’s free with your membership. Next time you launch the app, go to the Files and Fonts panel to start syncing.

  • Why can't I use the creative cloud connection file syncing?

I hear people raving about it on twitter, so why am I only seeing a 'coming soon' message in the files tab of my creative cloud interface? I would very much like to use the file syncing to work between two computers! What is going on here? Is there some kind of area restriction going on for this service?

Sign up for early access to File and Font Syncing. It's being rolled out slowly to work out the early glitches:

  • Early Access File Syncing

I have received an email message advising that I have been given early access to the Files syncing feature of the Adobe CC application.
However, clicking on the Files tab does not show a workable interface, only the old "Coming Soon" statement. I have downloaded and installed the latest version of the CC application onto my Apple MacPro, but clicking on the "Files" tab does not show a window that looks like anything shown on the FAQ sample page discussing the file sharing function.
Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Hallo Vikas,
First of all, to answer your question, yes, I only have one Adobe ID.
The problem has been solved, since the Files tab in my Adobe CC application started functioning normally yesterday.
    Thanks for looking into this.

  • Email from Adobe says I can use File Sync today, but it isn't working

Received an email this morning saying I'd been already approved for newly reinstated File Sync and I should start using it today, but my desktop app still says "coming soon."   I waited till this evening, but it's still not active.
Here's quote from the email:  "Since we’re rolling out access in limited batches, we’re prompting people to join a waiting list—but we’ve gone ahead and approved you, so you can get started using these features anytime."
    Anyone know what's going on?
    Gail

Hi Gail, were you prompted to update your CC desktop app ?
If not then try quitting it and then re-launch it, it will ask you to update.
After update, it should have that functionality.

  • TypeKit and file Sync

    Are these actually available yet?
I have the Photographers bundle - The CC front end tells me they are coming soon, but if I look at the tutorial videos it gives the impression that they are already available.
Or is it that these features aren't available to Photography Program members.
    Cheers
    John

    Hi John,
Thanks for your interest in the desktop sync feature!  The Creative Cloud team is rolling out font and file sync early access to users. You can read more about it on the Typekit blog:
    http://blog.typekit.com/2013/08/08/sign-up-for-early-access-to-desktop-font-sync/
or just head over to request early access: https://creative.adobe.com/earlyaccess.
If you'd like to email us at [email protected] with your account information, we can also check whether you should already have sync access.
I hope that this helps; let me know if you have any other questions.  Best,

  • Ideas for a simple solution to Coming Soon sign on my site till it's ready

    Hello all!
I am downloading my site files for the first time from my server, over an hour now and although my site can be seen on the 'net, it's not ready. I wanted to put a Coming Soon sign to alert any viewers that my site is not yet ready for business. Any thoughts or ideas from anyone who had done this before? I have a few ideas rolling around in my head. I just wanted to get some feedback from all of you. Thanks!

You may wish to place a graphic image or notice on your Index.html page telling people the site is under construction.
Typically, I upload pages to a TEST folder on the remote server to work out any kinks first.  Then when I'm sure everything works as it should, I move them to the root folder using a 3rd party FTP ware like Cute FTP, FileZilla or WS_FTP pro.  And then I delete the TEST folder.

To download assets (clip art) from Creative Cloud Market, File Sync in CC must be on. I turn it on, but when I try to download it turns itself off. Anyone else have this issue?

Please try the workaround posted here:

This seems to have worked for a few other users.  Hopefully we'll be able to release a fix to this issue soon.

  • Wait Events "log file parallel write" / "log file sync" during CREATE INDEX

    Hello guys,
at my current project i am performing some performance tests for oracle data guard. The question is "How does a LGWR SYNC transfer influences the system performance?"
To get some performance values, that i can compare i just built up a normal oracle database in the first step.
Now i am performing different tests like creating "large" indexes, massive parallel inserts/commits, etc. to get the bench mark.
My database is an oracle 10.2.0.4 with multiplexed redo log files on AIX.
I am creating an index on a "normal" table .. i execute "dbms_workload_repository.create_snapshot()" before and after the CREATE INDEX to get an equivalent timeframe for the AWR report.
After the index is built up (round about 9 GB) i perform an awrrpt.sql to get the AWR report.
And now take a look at these values from the AWR
                                                                       Avg
                                                 %Time  Total Wait    wait     Waits
Event                                 Waits  -outs    Time (s)    (ms)      /txn
    log file parallel write              10,019     .0         132      13      33.5
    log file sync                           293     .7           4      15       1.0
    ......How can this be possible?
    Regarding to the documentation
    -> log file sync: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14237/waitevents003.htm#sthref3120
Wait Time: The wait time includes the writing of the log buffer and the post.-> log file parallel write: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14237/waitevents003.htm#sthref3104
Wait Time: Time it takes for the I/Os to complete. Even though redo records are written in parallel, the parallel write is not complete until the last I/O is on disk. This was also my understanding .. the "log file sync" wait time should be higher than the "log file parallel write" wait time, because of it includes the I/O and the response time to the user session.
I could accept it, if the values are close to each other (maybe round about 1 second in total) .. but the different between 132 seconds and 4 seconds is too noticeable.
Is the behavior of the log file sync/write different when performing a DDL like CREATE INDEX (maybe async .. like you can influence it with the initialization parameter COMMIT_WRITE??)?
Do you have any idea how these values come about?
    Any thoughts/ideas are welcome.
    Thanks and Regards

    Surachart Opun (HunterX) wrote:
    Thank you for Nice Idea.
In this case, How can we reduce "log file parallel write" and "log file sync" waited time?
CREATE INDEX with NOLOGGINGA NOLOGGING can help, can't it?Yes - if you create index nologging then you wouldn't be generating that 10GB of redo log, so the waits would disappear.
    Two points on nologging, though:
    <ul>
it's "only" an index, so you could always rebuild it in the event of media corruption, but if you had lots of indexes created nologging this might cause an unreasonable delay before the system was usable again - so you should decide on a fallback option, such as taking a new backup of the tablespace as soon as all the nologging operatons had completed.
If the database, or that tablespace, is in +"force logging"+ mode, the nologging will not work.
    </ul>
Don't get too alarmed by the waits, though. My guess is that the +"log file sync"+ waits are mostly from other sessions, and since there aren't many of them the other sessions are probably not seeing a performance issue. The +"log file parallel write"+ waits are caused by your create index, but they are happeninng to lgwr in the background which is running concurrently with your session - so your session is not (directly) affected by them, so may not be seeing a performance issue.
The other sessions are seeing relatively high sync times because their log file syncs have to wait for one of the large writes that you have triggered to complete, and then the logwriter includes their (little) writes with your next (large) write.
There may be a performance impact, though, from the pure volume of I/O. Apart from the I/O to write the index you have LGWR writting (N copies) of the redo for the index and ARCH is reading and writing the completed log files caused by the index build. So the 9GB of index could easily be responsible for vastly more I/O than the initial 9GB.

  • RMAN causing "log file sync"

    Hi,
Maybe someone can help me on this.
We have a RAC database in production that (for some) applications need a response of 0,5 seconds. In general that is working.
Outside of production hours we make a weekly full backup and daily incremental backup so that is not bothering us. However as soon as we make an archive backup or a backup of the control file during production hours we have a problem as the application have to wait for more then 0,5 seconds for a respons caused by the event "log file sync" with wait class "Commit".
I already adjusted the script for RMAN so that we use only have 1 files per set and also use one channel. However that didn't work.
Increasing the logbuffer was also not a success.
Increasing Large pool is in our case not an option.
We have 8 redolog groups with each 2 members ( each 250 Mb) and an average during the day of 12 logswitches per hour which is not very alarming. Even during the backup the I/O doesn't show very high activity. The increase of I/O at that moment is minor but (maybe) apperantly enough to cause the "log file sync".
Oracle has no documentation that gives me more possible causes.
Strange thing is that before the first of October we didn't have this problem and there were no changes made.
Has anyone an idea where to look further or did anyone experience a thing like this and was able to solve it?
    Kind regards

The only possible contention I can see is between the log writer and the archiver. 'Backup archivelog' in RMAN means implicitly 'ALTER SYSTEM ARCHIVE LOG CURRENT' (log switch and archiving the online log).
You should alternate redo logs on different disks to minimize the effect of the archiver on the log writer.

  • Log file sync wait event advise?

Due to business needs, Apps has been designed to do every single transaction commit and coming to infrastructure, db Datafiles and redo logs are in faster disk (FC) and archive logs are placed in slower speed disk(SATA). We are seeing the log file sync wait event in the top events and symptoms for this waitevent is either disk speed is slow or doing frequent commit. In my scenario i guess 99% this wait event happening due to frequent commits. Can i assume archive log slower disk will not be root cause for this (my understanding this waitevent occurs on redo log writing area and not in archive log writing area) ? Please confirm.

I note you say the event is IN the top events - this tells us virtually nothing; an event might be IN the top 5 while being responsible for less than 1% of the total recorded wait time; it could be IN the top 5 but explained as a side effect of something that appeared above it in the Top 5. Why not just show us a typical Top 5 (along with a typical Load Profile it you want to be really helpful).

  • ThunderBolt Update Site says "Coming Soon"?

I have noticed that on Verizon's website under the section that shows you when certain phones have updates coming up that the ThunderBolt site has a statement saying "Coming Soon", but if you look at the attached PDF files they are for the latest update (2.11.605.9).  Does anyone know if there is another update coming out or did some forget to remove the "Coming Soon" from the ThunderBolt update site?

I just bought my Thunderbolt a couple of days ago.  When I called Verizon this morning asking how to get the software updated, I was directed to call HTC, as Verizon doesn't control software updates.  When I called HTC technical support (866 963-0953), they told me they had had issues with the software upgrade, and where no longer doing automatic upgrades.  If I wanted Gingerbread I was going to have to call their warranty department (800 229-1235), as that department is now handling all Gingerbread upgrades.  I find this a little disconcerting, but I'm going to try to call them tomorrow, as the warranty department is not open on the weekends.
I also found the fact that Verizon doesn't know this to be a bit disconcerting, as well, but I don't know when HTC changed their policy.

In contrast to many people in this forum, I do not mind that there are serious limitations and bugs in the beta. However, I am disappointed that Apple does not list the problems up front.

  • File Sync | FAQs

Here are answers to a few questions that you may need before you start. If your question is not here, feel free to start a new discussion.
What types of files can I upload and preview on Creative Cloud?
You can preview many creative file types directly in a web browser on your computer, tablet, or smartphone. These file types include: PSD, AI, INDD, JPG, PDF, GIF, PNG, Photoshop Touch, Ideas, and others.
    What operating systems are supported?
The Creative Cloud app supports Mac OS 10.7, 10.8 and Windows 7 and 8 (both 64-bit and 32-bit versions). A broadband Internet connection is required to be able to sync files and fonts.
Is there a file size limit?
Using Sync Files from the CReative Cloud app for desktop, you can upload files up to 5 GB. If you attempt to upload anything larger, you may see some unexpected errors.
On the Creative Cloud website, you can upload files up to 1 GB. If you attempt to upload anything larger, you can see some unexpected upload failures.
When files are moved in the local Creative Cloud Files folder do they still exist locally? Are they available when disconnected?
Yes. When you move files in the local Creative Cloud Files folder and Creative Cloud app is running, they automatically sync to the Creative Cloud. When you look at these files in the Finder or Explorer, you can see their status. Files currently syncing have blue arrows, and the files sync'd to the cloud have a green check mark.
If you don't have an Internet connection, syncing automatically pauses and resumes when the connection is restored. While you are disconnected, you have complete access to these files for editing. The menu and tray icons change status to let you know when you are disconnected/connected and if sync is active.
What happens if I delete files from my Creative Cloud Files folder?
File deletions sync to the Creative Cloud and any other devices linked to the account. Files deleted from the Creative Cloud Files folder are first placed in the Archive files section of the Files page. The same is true of files deleted from the Files page. Your quota counts archived files as well, so it's necessary to permanently delete files to free up storage space. You can browse your archived files in the Files view of the CreativeCloud.com website to restore or unarchive or permanently delete files to free up storage.
What order do files sync in?
Files in the Creative Cloud Files folder sync alphabetically, by directory.

That is correct.  This functionality is being rolled out incrementally - that is, some folks will receive access to this first (in fact, some already have it now), and others will be added as soon as we can.
If you have not received an email similar to the one above, and you want to get early access to these functions, follow the link on the Creative Cloud Team Blog to sign up for the program.  Details are there.
